Had the veggie yaki udon. They forgot about my order so when my bf got his order they just started mine so I had to wait quite a while for my food. The udon was cooked perfectly and there was a good amount of veggies. However it was just WAYTOOSALTY. like WAYYYY too salty. May be back to try the sushi given there’s only a few sushi places on south side but definitely won’t be trying their cooked food… for the sake of my liver and sodium intake.

While waiting for food elsewhere, we stopped by Sushi house to grab an appetizer while we waited. The price for the rolls weren’t super expensive, nor were they cheap. I guess you can say they were reasonable. We ordered a Philadelphia roll which was decently sized, and tasted really fresh. It was not crowded at all so we got our food very quickly. Not bad at all for a college town sushi joint.

For what we had, it was very good. After a disaster at the Mandarin House(food was SO sweet we could not finish either plate) we went here for something to get the taste out of our mouths. We got a Monkey Roll, which was very nicely sized, and he made it extra spicy for us on request. It was extremely fresh and tasty. Heck I don’t even like sriracha and it was super delicious. I don;t know if they do anything else well, but this one was killer. Would definitely order it again. ***Edit: Now under new ownership, so our favorite roll has vanished =(

This place is pretty bad. Over-priced and tiny portion sizes. I only come here because I feel bad for the guy who works here all by himself. He looks sad and lonely. At least they take card. The bento boxes come with orange slices too. The place has an open«kitchen» so you get to see the entire process in how the guy makes the food/sushi, and you can see how ghetto this place is. He took the pre-cooked chicken out of this container thingy and heated it up on the grill. IDK if that is actually chicken teriyaki. Anyways the bento boxes are ghetto and the sushi roll is tiny for the price. Also service might be slow cause he «cooks» the food to order.

How is this place still open? No, seriously, I actually am mystified because the place is a perpetual ghost town with very few customers and only two people working the cash register and kitchen(erm…“kitchen.” That’s a liberal use of the term there.) But that’s neither here nor there. Let’s talk about food. I like getting bento boxes to sample the capabilities of a kitchen. So let’s go through these one by one. The salad was way oversauced. The rice was decent actually, good texture. The pork katsu was also oversauced yet still managed to taste bland somehow. I can’t even fully explain how paradoxically disappointing it was. But the salmon sashimi. Oh boy, the salmon sashimi. Every now and then I buy a slab of raw salmon from like a Safeway or a Costco or something. And then I just eat it. It’s not the safest thing in the world but I really like raw fish, and this is by far the cheapest sashimi you can get. I expect a certain something from fish actually advertised as sashimi — like at LEAST it shouldn’t have the brown part that tastes fishier. I’m fine eating that when I pay $ 10 for a giant slab but I am NOT fine eating it when I pay $ 10 for a bento box that comes with three tiny squares of salmon. Let me put that into perspective though. If you get a bento box with double sashimi(instead of pork katsu like I got), you’d be paying $ 11. $ 11 for let’s see, a small salad, a mound of rice, and six tiny squares of salmon that might as well have been from a slab of raw fish from Costco. Oh and two orange slices I guess. Last thing — the water tasted really stale, as if it had lost all its dissolved oxygen long ago and was sitting stagnant for days. I know this seems like a really minor point to bring up, but you can tell a lot about a restaurant and how much they actually care about their craft from the little things like water. Throughout the entire meal I felt just a little sick because of how the water tasted. Conclusions: NEVER come here. Wait until it closes down and see what springs up from its ashes.

This place needs to close down asap. Its such a waste of valuable space in asian ghetto. I came here out of desperation on a busy lunch hour and ordered the A’s Roll thinking it should be okay since its«starred» and seems pretty popular. In addition, the description seemed like it would be ok. There was only ONE single man working the cashier ANDMAKING the sushi. After he handled my money, he directly went to cut my sushi(I decided to look away). I waited at least 10 – 15 mins and there was like, only 4 other people in the store(that should have been a sign). Eventually, I got my food after the long wait. I open the box, «WHATISTHIS?» «ISTHISEVENSUSHI?» To me, it looked like a random mess of random ingredients all mashed together. In addition, I spent a total of about 11 dollars on this meal and the meal was SUPERSMALL. I took a bite and threw it out and decided to starve instead. Basically to sum it up, 1. The sushi is horrible quality(in terms of fish and structure) 2. Its small quantity 3. Service is slow RUNAWAYFROMTHISPLACEPLEASE

This place is gross. There is one single man working as both cashier and sushi chef. After he took the money, he directly went to make the sushi. And I saw him picking his nose when no one was in the restaurant. No wonder! Why hasn’t this place been close down yet???
