Recently went back to Not your Average Joes and my husband and I had fantastic service and our meals were absolulty delicious. Will plan on continuing to dine here in the future. Thank you also for changing up the menu, we love it.

Great place, wait staff were very friendly! And did a great job getting the food out promptly! Everything was wonderful, especially loved all the variety of appetizers!

Time and time again, I have been very impressed with the courtesy of the staff, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the quality of the food here. My husband and I actually chose it as the destination for our small reception after our intimate wedding because of our countless good experiences. It is impeccably managed and maintained, which keeps us returning. My husband and I are both celiacs and dairy-intolerant, and have never once been negatively effected by a meal here. Great caution is taken to ensure the safety and comfort of guests. It’s about as good as you can get as far as restaurants go!

Amazingly first time to NYAJ’s. We all had burgers. All came out perfectly cooked to order. Amanda R was our server. She was quick and thorough filling my beer! Overall a good meal and night out.

Food was really good. I got the Haddock that came with mashed potatoes and veggies and it was so good. My boys both got gf mac and cheese, which was also very good. We got the peanut butter thing for dessert. It was big enough for us to share and was very good. and I am not even a fan of peanut butter.

Food seems much blander than usual. Got the mustard crusted chicken and it had very little flavor. Mashed potatoes are so damn good though. Also the bartender was busy but not neglecting anyone. She was definitely on point helping guests, answering phones and playing host when she needed to. I do wish their draft beer selection was a little better.

I used to really like eating here but was really disappointed a few nights ago with how my meal was prepared. I first of all had to wait a long time before the waitress came to take my order, when my meal arrived the meatloaf wasn’t fully cooked, it was way under cooked so I left most of it on the plate and left still hungry. I thought I would give this place another shot as I used to be a regular, I’m sorry I did. Stopped to grab a roast beef sandwich on the way home because I left and was still hungry

The burger was great. Steve was our server and he was very good about my picky eating requests. He even brought me oil and Balsamic vinegar for dipping the bread. Thanks, Steve!

We came in about a hour before they closed and we got seated quickly and they were more than happy to serve us. Out waitress was incredibly nice and knew right off the bat all about their soy content(my brother has soy allergies). We started off with the Calamari which was very good, a little greasy but still tasty. I got a burger with a million sides including the mashed potatoes. The burger was incredibly good and the mash potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had. My parents got the Portuguese Cod which I think was a special for the night and they absolutely loved it. Very nice setting, not too bright but not ridiculously dark. The service was spot on and I’d be more than happy to go back anytime.

This has become one of our favorite restaurants, especially on the evenings when we’re headed for the North Shore Music Theater and get a 15% discount on our dinner. On our most recent visit my wife had one of her favorites, wedge salad with steak, and a cup of tomato basil soup — both great. I had something I had not had before, grilled salmon with grilled asparagus and cauliflower mash. The combination of those flavors and textures was perfect. My only problem with the restaurant is that there are so many interesting and delicious dishes on the menu that it’s hard to choose.

Even though I only had the tomato basil soup, I could tell by the other 5 dishes served at our table that I must come back again. Everything was well presented and no one had any faults whatsoever. Our server was very hospitable and smiley! Great atmosphere all around and five stars for pretty much everything!

My strawberry basil cocktail was good. But the apps were disgusting. The lettuce wraps were messy and unappealing looking, although the flavor was ok. We sent back the pile of lemons and crumbs they call RI calamari. The second plate of it was like rubber bands. The worst I’ve ever had. They didn’t charge us for them, which is respectable, but I’d prefer edible food I pay for any day.

Love the birthday free meal! Insane this kind of place does it. I always get some apps even nachos are crazy different but perfect. Like neatly done presentation wise all stacked. My boyfriend loves their buffalo chicken and I love mustard chicken entrée. Worth trying & their bread and oil it’s my fave crusty and soft warm bread!!!

Went their last Sunday night, the food wasn’t even warm. The waitress seemed very nice but not very attentive and seemed sick or out of it like she might of had a late night. Never asked us how our food was, some blond hair manager did right at the end. I got meatloaf which honestly was not very good and cold. My mom got fish which was ok but cold and very unappetizing. My brothers got chicken dish and fish dish, plus two onion strings, all very cold or not very warm. Just really disappointed.

I have been to this location many times. The food is always delicious. And the staff is always courteous. I absolutely loooove the bread and the dipping oil that has cheese in it. Yum yum. There has only been one time(out of what seems hundreds) that I went to NYAJ and my food was a wee bit overcooked. It was a really busy night. But it still tasted awesome.

We head here out of convenience of location to our home and because of the amazing margaritas that they make here, not to mention the out-of-this-world bread and dipping oil. We sometimes have problems with the kitchen getting our food wrong but the wait staff/manager always take of the issue with either a re-make of the dish, comped meal or free dessert.

My wife and I recently went to the Nashua, NH location after some shopping and had a fantastic time! We had some family members in town and we’re excited to take them to the location closer to us(we’re in Salem). This was our first time at this location. For a Saturday night, the restaurant was pretty empty. We were seated and introduced to our waitress. She was very nice, but seemed really nervous. Almost as if she was new. The environment lacked a certain sexiness that the Nashua location had. I honestly felt that we could have went to a TGIFs or Applebee’s and had a similar ambiance. The food was… not great. The signature focaccia was cold and mealy. My fries were just under room temperature and soggy, my burger was greasy and soaked through my bun, my wife’s veggie burger was dry, slightly burnt, and needed more sauce. My father and brother-in-law’s salads were lackluster. The meal was pretty standard, nothing really jumped out as being anything special. Ultimately, the entire experience was so-so. Definitely the polar opposite experience we had at the NH location. It’s upsetting because when we first went to the NH location we were so thrilled with the food/service we filled out a survey giving it exemplary marks! Now, even though we live just 10 minutes away, I would rather drive an hour to Nashua to get a better experience.

Used to come here all the time. Ordered takeout for the game tonight, steak frites, bbq pizza and bananas foster bread pudding. $ 46 and change total. Got the order took it back to peabody, fries were raw, the medium steak was well done and charred and they forgot the ice cream for the dessert. The order was 15 minutes late being done and we placed it at 3:30 for a 5 pm pickup. For a usually great place, really bad food tonight.

I think I just had my first experience of discrimination. Not sure why my friends and I were ignored for 20 minutes on a quiet Sunday. We came in, sat down and we were flat out ignored for at least 20 minutes. The hostess seemed annoyed, not friendly. Not one wait staff said hello or even the common«I’ll be right with you». Zilch. Ignored. There was plenty of staff. Most of which just walking back and forth not really doing much. We walked out, seemingly unnoticed. We will NEVER return. Don’t waste your time or money.

The best NYAJ location. The place is bright & sunny. The waitstaff incredibly friendly & most importantly the food is cooked correctly & incredibly tasty.
