This is my favorite restaurant in Hamilton. Food is always good and waitress Michelle is warm and friendly. Everything you’re looking for in a neighborhood restaurant.

I always enjoy 15 Walnut. The waitress Michele is very helpful and always steers us in the right direction. She’s really an asset. She recommended chicken wings. After enjoying them, she brought us a warm, wet towel! Will return again and again.

I picked this place because it was one of the few highly rated restaurants that actually took a reservation for Sat night. We arrived on time and were promptly seated as they had yet to fill. It was full by the time we left. We were seated immediately. Everyone loved the décor, the table setting, service was friendly, efficient and helpful. Our drink order came relatively quickly with a plate of delicious foccacia with herbed oil which we enjoyed. Our salads were out soon after we ordered but it took a while for the entrees to arrive. Of the three different choices, 3 steak, 2 salmon and the hamburger; the hamburger and salmon we hot and raved. The steaks however were cool as were the fries and asparagus and they were unevenly cooked — medium and one end and medium rare on the other. We commented on the problem and were offered to replace the meals as they could not be reheated. I thought the offer overly generous and our waitress then brought a large plate of fresh hot fries. We followed with delicious coffee and then ordered five desserts. The desserts were delivered and we were told they would be comped because of the steaks. I wouldn’t have rated this four stars due to the steaks, but their efforts to make it right were spontaneous and spoke to their concern for their customers. I would certainly go back but would avoid the steak and choose one of the several other interesting entrees.

We used a living social voucher and got free chicken wings with a check in offer and we were glad to be able to combine both offers. The high point of the meal were the truffle fries that my boyfriend got. The scallop casserole had potential but was overwhelmingly salty with prosciutto and added salt. The peppercorn steak was likewise overwhelmed by the spices. We would come back but will try for less salty dishes next time. Hot cider was good as were Thai chicken wings. It is a loud lively atmosphere so don’t go here for a quiet date.

Another great meal at 15 Walnut. GF and I got the free flatbread for an app. Very good, loved the sauce. GF got the burger. It was cooked perfect. How she ordered it. I got the sushi. Shrimp tempura roll and the House roll. Both excellent. Monica was our server. She kept my beer full and was quick on a busy night.

15 Walnut was a hit for me. The cozy seating allowed for great conversation. We ate tempura sushi, beet salad with delicious crispy quinoa and crème brûlée for dessert. Our Waiter was attentive and had a nice sense of humor. I hope to return soon!

I love stopping in here for a quick bite on my way home. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable with friendly staff and bartenders. The cedar plank salmon was delicious! As where the brussel sprouts! We’ll be back again!

15 Walnut is our«neighborhood restaurant!» We love going there — the food is great, the atmosphere is great, there’s a fun bar and it all feels«familiar.» We go quite often as a family, but I also meet girlfriends there for a drink and/or dinner periodically. They use products from local farms, such as Appleton Farms, as much as possible. Last summer they had a «Farm Sampler» entrée that was served on a small cutting board that was delicious — goat’s cheese and caramelized onion tart, salad and soup — yum! They offer gluten free options, vegan and vegetarian. I highly recommend 15 Walnut. Reservations would be advised!

My sister and I had a wonderful time! I got the baked haddak, Mac and cheese, and cauliflower while my sister got the cedar plank salmon and brusselsprouts. Soo good. The haddak and cauliflower had a white wine undertone but I loved it. So filling. We had a coupon so it made it even better! I can’t wait to go back

Been a while since we visited 15 Walnut and we all thought it was great — service, atmosphere and food were all top notch. The cedar plank salmon was fresh and tasty, pappardelle bolognese was super, and«mountain chicken» in spatzl was delicious. We will be coming back more regularly!

Really want to like this place but after having tried it countless times for food and being underwhelmed, we’ll only be visiting for drinks. Serenitee Group’s other locations like Hale Street Tavern and Latitude 43 are much better options.

The Good: We arrived with another couple expecting a good dinner, as we’ve had a number of times in the past. We were seated within 5 minutes. Waitress Jenny R was excellent — professional and conscientious. The craft beers she recommended were perfect. The Haddock and Steak tips entrees were good — as expected. The Not-so-good: The $ 10 glass of wine poured by the bar was only 3 ounces — only half of what it should have been. We didn’t complain, but we’ve seen these guys do this in the past. This was not an honest mistake. Either they ran out of this wine(not likely at 7:30 on a Sat night) or the bartender was too lazy to open another bottle. The Bad: The Duck Breast entrée was way under cooked — to the point where the knife wouldn’t slice the meat. I asked them to just quickly grill the sliced duck pieces on each side. The waitress looked at the dish, apologized and brought back the dish to the«cooks» behind the counter.(I could easily see that none of the 5 cooks knew had a clue as to how to prepare the duck — even when given a second chance. It must have been the«Duck» guy’s night off. Why it was on the menu is beyond understanding.) The waitress came back to say it would take a few minutes and offered a salad while our party enjoyed their dinners. I just wanted to make sure they didn’t overcook the duck. Too late. The dish came back with fresh sides of sticky rice and roasted fennel, but the duck was DOA — overcooked. Recommendation: Always ask the waitress what she recommends on the menu based on the crew cooking that night. The menu is not very extensive, so they should really be able to prepare the few things listed very well.

It is a local bistro, as the name says. Well really more of a local bar and grill. Upscale, but still that’s really all it is. The food was good, but not great. The service was adequate. If I lived in the area I’d probably give it another try, but overall I was neither impressed, nor terribly disappointed.

Highlights: The atmosphere and rosemary bread is what keeps me coming back to 15 Walnut. Oh yeah and the Kentucky Burbon Barrel Ale that they have on draft :). The large wooden booths make for a cosy space to enjoy a nice dinner. The service is mediocre at best– I have had two nice servers in the last four years. The food is overpriced for the size and quality. They boast in including local ingredients, but the flavors just miss the mark. The burgers and mussels are delicious, though! It’s a local staple, and the and Serendipity points are incentive to keep going back.

First visit 3÷14÷2014. Excellent menu choices for all palates. We started with the carrot ginger soup & chowder. Both were presented well and tasted excellent. Following soup, we tried the sushi which was fresh and had a fun presentation on a long serving dish. For entrees we chose the baked haddock and gnocci’s. The haddock was fresh and cooked perfectly. The gnocci’s were so tasty! They arrived with a nice amount of fresh veggies mixed in with the pasta and were seasoned just right! Very happy with our first visit! Meat and veggie lovers will enjoy this eatery!
