New York Prime

NY Prime my favorite on the east coast, the other is on the west coast (B’s) NY Prime is as close to my favorite in NYC and the crowd has the amount of energy that makes it that much better. I eat here several times a year, I don’t want to tire of it. NY Strips, Bone in rib-​eye, filet mignon, spectacular lamb chops.

Been going here for years, had my birthday party here earlier this year… where everybody knows your name.

My friends joined my wife and I this past Friday for dinner, which was «as always» the BEST in BOCA! As we entered the dining room a waiter who has been our waiter in the past, gave us a big hello, as we were being shown to our table. Don then (our waiter for the evening) took over, with a smile, a sense of humor, and knowledge of what he was doing, meaning «he was a pro». Sliced tomato and onion., sliced bacon, 2 porterhouse steaks for 4. lyonaise potatoes, asparagus (I am not crazy bout their spinach as one of the ingredients is ginger), cheeze cake and coffee… And oh I forgot, Martinis and wine at the beginning, and all was good in the world even if it was for only two hours.

It’s pretty good but like most upscale restaurants, it’s a hit or miss. Some days the food is amazing and other times the food is not 100%. The last time I ate here the food wasn’t that great and the server seemed slow with our table yet rushed at the same time.

Hands down the best around. Fantastic Bone in Ribeye. Service is great and Mr. John Gio really knows how to treat the customers.

Consistently delicious. I have been coming here for over 10 years when I visit Boca Raton. Always on point with the service and deliciousness!

I have always loved the food at NY prime. Six of us went there and had the oysters as an appetizer. We all had food poisoning the next day. I am reasonable and realize this could happen to any establishment if the oysters are not prepared and stored probably. I was so sick I passed out twice, sick for five days.
We called the manager and he said he would look into it. No follow up phone call from him to see how I was or to see how the others were.
Friends of made made a resevation and I went back. (Only 3 weeks later) I asked the manager do your remember me calling about being so sick? He had no idea what I was talking about and really didn’t care. Six people violently ill and no concern to the restaurant. I don’t need to say more. Shame on them! Totally unprofessional

My wife and I went here last night to celebrate 26 years of marriage. The atmosphere is very much old world and elegant. We ordered a veal chop fillet mignon asparagus fresh cut steak fries oysters Rockefeller and stuff shrimp. Everything was very good and the service was very elegant.

Really, no words to express the culinary bliss I’m in. Colossal Seafood platter, prime beef cooked to perfection, and a 4lb lobster to share. Reservations were tight and 8:45 too late for my taste after a long day. However, they more than accommodated at the bar for the perfect evening.

Had One fillet mignon one order of asparagus one baked potato and the garlic shrimp appetizer shared the meal the bill was $ 125 REALLY??? Then to top it off they are putting your food a much smaller plates and the food is falling off of it !!! I had to ask for a normal size plate so I could eat with out it falling off all true

Went for my Bday dinner last evening. Been here at least 5 times over past few years. Outstanding again. From service to food… as good as a steak place can get. Italian chopped salad for two plus a crab cocktail to start. Dinner… bone in rib eye split with my wife. And NY strips for my parents. 3lb lobster to make it surf and turf. They pulled all the meat out and sliced the steaks table side. Classy! Sides were also perfect, creamed spinach of course, and lyonnaise potatoes… dessert was the special butter cake and ice cream. Expensive? yes… worth it! FOR SURE. Wonderful food, service, and ambiance… a great mix.

This is a traditional steakhouse in Boca. Food and service were both exemplary.
Instead of steak, I decided to have the salmon. It was pretty good, but the mushrooms it came with were better. More flavorful to my taste.
Prices are what you would expect for a steakhouse.

My boyfriend and I were talking about who has the best steak in FL near Lighthouse Point where we have a house at. We’ve tried all the known steakhouses (Chops, Abe&Louises, Morton’s, Ruth Chris etc…), non of them have a great steak, our friend told me about NY Prime, so we finally decided to try their steak out.
First of all, to get there, we had a bit of trouble finding this place, because it’s all the way in the back passing all other restaurants on Executive Ctr Dr. and you can’t see it from Glades, they should have the sign right when you turn onto Executive.
When we first walked in, it wasn’t crowded, but people kept coming in, they were all saying hi to each other, and I guess they are all regulars. The crowd was usual older Boca crowd.
Our server was very nice, sweet, and I loved it. We started with oyster’s rockefellers, they were good but they put too much of the filling and the oyster itself was too little, so I still like Truluck’s better. Then I ordered smaller filet charr medium rare and sautéed spinach and loaded baked potato for sides. My filet was perfectly pink inside and had good flavor, the spinach had enough garlic and very good and I usually don’t like potatoes but our server gave us lots of chives and lots of bacon, it was super loaded, and it was actually very good.
Over all we were happy with the service and the steak, we are definitely coming back next time we are back in Florida. Also I heard the live music, I’m curious about that too, maybe next time I’m there, I will walk to the other side and check out the live music as well.

This is the place that I go and eat with my family when they are in town from NY a lot of times, and they work in the steak industry and are always seeking «the best» when it comes to restaurants.
I love going here because the food is great, the service is great and it is always a fun time with a loud piano and lots of singing!

Real prime beef, real good! And they have the biggest lobster I’ve ever seen! So yummy! Perfect for a rainy night Lol :-)

Been here several times and always leave saying over and over again… What a great meal!
Started off with sitting at the bar enjoying a glass of scotch NOT POURED WITH A NEEDLE THIMBLE!
My steak and my wife’s were cooked perfectly and had the flavor and tenderness of a truly 28 day DRY AGED STEAK.
The only downside was the 8 BENTLEY’S in my parking space.

I have been here twice. I ordered the smallest steak and was unimpressed. It had little flavor and sides had to be ordered separately, which might be normal for an upscale restaurant, but seems pretentious. The second time I went I ordered fish and was throughly unimpressed. I could have gotten better at Bonefish Grille.
The servers were not particularly friendly or accommodating. Perhaps because my boyfriend and I did not order any alcohol, and while we gave a very, very, generous tip our orders were relatively small compared to other patrons I’m sure.
The food should be top-​notch at a place that calls itself New York Prime. The service should be stellar, regardless of whether they are trying to maintain a pretentious feel.

Boys Night Out took the group to NY Prime, yesterday. The meal was very good… all the way around. Atmosphere, staff, quality of food, all good!!!
Ok, listen up… here’s the nugget. We shared the Chopped Steak as our first appetizer. Yep, CHOPPED STEAK!!! Charred Pittsburgh on outside and kinda rare in middle. BTW. That’s how they serve all their steaks. If you don’t like it, better talk to server before the butter/​crusted goodness hits your taste buds. Solid Steak House!!!
