Stopped here for breakfast on our way to boulder. Staff was very friendly and offered a free sample of bread.(delicious) My friend got the cinnamon roll which he raved about. I bought a jar of honey cinnamon flavored and it was AMAZING. If you like bread and cinnamon buns this place is for you.

The Great Harvest in Boulder provides the best bread, rolls and sandwiches. The fresh bakery smell is worth the trip. Well run and a friendly staff. This is a go to place for fresh bread and great sandwiches. Highly recommended.

I had the breakfast sandwich… SOGOOD! Fresh bread, cut to the perfect thickness and toasted perfectly. All the flavors went well together. And after you buy something they ask if you want to try some samples. So they have a liberal sampling policy, which I appreicate their transparency and enthusiasm of their products. Place is awesome and they bake it all right there in front of your very eyes(in an open kitchen).

One of the coziest places I have been in a long time– you walk in and immediately want to stay all day. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable about the menu. The menu is what makes this place what it is. Their muffins are the perfect consistency– I would eat the Pumpkin Granola everyday for breakfast for the rest of my life.

Full disclosure here… I love bread! So, visiting Great Harvest, smelling the freshly baked bread and getting a free slice is like The Promised Land to me! But the bonus is that they make really great sandwiches. The Crazy Chic, so yummy!

Wow this place rocks! They even have a punch card for a free loaf of coffee. The cookies are awesome though! All of them especially the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. They’re soft and gooey but hold their form and aren’t disgustingly greasy. What really makes this place awesome is the freshness and the prices. We’re not talking $ 10 for a loaf of bread even if it is baked that morning with top quality ingredients. They also have interesting breads! The flavor rotate, I had a pumpkin bread slice and it was to die for. Don’t be afraid to ask for samples they’re free and given plentifully.

I already really like this place! Went in for my first time today(I don’t know why I didn’t stop in sooner I live right down the road!) First time customers get a free loaf of bread! Yes FREE! I was so happy to pick out a loaf of honey wheat bread and then get a delicious sample slice of the cinnamon bread SO good and SO fresh. They have salads and sandwiches which you choose how you want the sandwich made. Pretty fast service and everyone is very nice. I highly recommend going here for lunch if you haven’t yet!

I visited Great Harvest Bread Company after lunch one day while I was visiting Boulder. I loved their selection of fresh made breads, cookies and other delicious treats. The woman who was helping me behind the counter was very friendly and told me I could sample just about anything I wanted to. I had already made up my mind to get a cinnamon roll and a super chocolatey brownie, so I asked for a sample of a simpler cookie. I tried the cranberry white macadamia cookie and it was to DIE for! It was the perfect in between texture I enjoy of soft and crunchy. I really liked this bakery and I can say that if I’m in the area again, I will be stoping by to say hello!

We love this place! Great bread, outstanding pies during the holidays(you’ll need to order them) Turkey pesto sandwich is amazing! There’s nothing like eating a sandwich made on freshly baked bread. The staff and Kevin are friendly, outgoing and fun. Best regards, John

Friendly neighborhood bakery. They have paleo muffins(on Mondays). It was so good, I went back and purchased two more for the week. Wish they had it everyday!

This bakery makes amazing sandwiches! You place your order on a sheet and take it up to the front and they give you a free piece of any bread you choose while you wait! Excellent customer service, easy to find parking and it smells awesome inside!

Delicious bread, great customer service and a free slice of bread just for coming in. What more could you ask for? Oh, you want all natural breads with no preservatives, corn sugars or other icky stuff? Well lucky for you that’s what they specialize in. They even mill their own flour. How great is that? AND they have challa on Fridays. Who doesn’t like challa? Nobody that’s who.

The bread excellent. We’re on vacation. We even got a loaf of the potato dill to go. Had the turkey pesto delish and tomato basil soup also really good. Had a muffin. Didn’t like it. To healthy tasting. Lol service was good fast and friendly.

Best cinnamon rolls ever. They’re different than most and so special. Also love the walnut brownies, ginger bars, lemon bars and seasonal fruit coffee cake. But one of the nicest things is the friendliness. I have been a customer for 20 years or so. I recently had a 3 day family event with out of town guests of all ages and they really came through with special orders to cover both breakfast treats and dinner desserts. Just an update… The place was sold since I wrote the above review(5 star at the time) last summer and the transition is noticeable. Several favorites have been dropped and some recipes have changed or become inconsistent. The cinnamon rolls are still the greatest but I’m sad about many of the changes.

I LOVEGREATHARVEST! Such delicious bread, and the customer service is fantastic. Everyone is friendly, and you are always offered a slice of freshly baked bread upon entering. Oregon Herb is my favorite for sandwiches. :)

2012 Review #7: My earliest memories of bread definitely include visits to Great Harvest. Yes, we were those people who would sometimes go in just for a free slice of bread. Most of the time though we’d buy some cookies. The oatmeal cookies here are great– huge, with oatmeal, and either raisins, dried cherries or chocolate chips. There are also plain, and peanut butter versions. The bread itself is in varying degrees of awesome. I personally do not like much of their bread for sandwiches, even when it is cut thin for sandwiches. It’s just too dense and chewy for me, but also somehow falls apart at the same time. I do love some of their breads: the Oregon Herb is so tangy and interesting, the sunflower has great texture, the spinach feta/spinach parmesan are just crazy good, as are the cinnamon pecan swirl(make french toast or bread pudding out of it) and the red white and blue bread. That bread is insane. White bread with dried blueberries and cherries. It’s amazing. I don’t like how huge the loaves are at times; it is hard to finish a loaf before it goes stale unless you have a large group of bread eaters. However, the bread is good enough that it can be used for other things; I bought some Jalapeño Cornbread here and used it once it had staled in a breakfast egg casserole to much success. You can order holiday bread here(for certain holidays, like Halloween and Easter, they shape the dough into spiders or easter bunnies, etc.) and you can also get sandwiches, coffee, and bakery items. The bakery items have never really impressed me, but they are good in a pinch. Great Harvest also has lots of gluten free options. Especially if you are in the central/southern area of Boulder, this is one of your best and only bets for bread.

I’ve never had a sandwich here but I’ve bought bread, cookies or muffins. No this is not a rustic, crusty type of bread you might want with some cheese and wine, this is soft American bread the kind you’d have with Thanksgiving dinner or something like that. Last time I went in, I bought a muffin(pumpkin?) that had a strange aftertaste, kind of chemically. I prefer their cookies which are pretty good(not wonderful by any stretch, but good enough for the price). The coolest thing about this place is they give you samples which is a great marketing tool and has prompted me to order things I may not have thought of before. I’ve taken loaves of bread to potlucks(I don’t bake) and they’re always well received. It’s not wonderful, drive for miles and miles bakery fare, but it’s fine, if I were to give it a grade, I’d say C+ or B-.

So, normally I would give Great Harvest 4 or 5 stars. I have been going to this bakery since I was a youngling, and the quality of the product has always been consistent, and honestly, that hasn’t changed. However, recently the customer service really needed a do-over. I had been in the store with my husband buying some cookies and I was eyeing their soup mix. Suddenly, I saw a sign that said, «Free with soup mix, 12 dinner rolls!» Excited, I pointed to my husband and we were sold. We picked up the mix, got a dozen cookies and went to the register. I pointed to the sign and said, «We were going to get this mix and were wondering where we could get the rolls?» Receiving a blank look from the girl and the register, I knew trouble was ahead. She turned behind her and asked her coworker. «Um.are we still doing rolls?» A gruff, «Oh no, THAT“S Not still going on! Where did they see that?.» came the response. I felt deceived, and almost as if it was our fault… Instead of saying, «Oh, well the promo IS over but since it’s OUR fault for continuing the promo. and since you do want to buy the soup anyways… let’s throw in some rolls.» No. Stupidly we bought the soup anyways. I think I was too stunned. I haven’t been back since though. I just thought it was really shiesty.
