Hidden gem. I love the homestyle cooking and the kitchy thrift store décor. Good food, reasonable prices. Small and fairly quiet.

I would rate my Beef and Dumplings lunch at Korea House as underwhelming. For the price, there was a shocking lack of beef and only a few vegetables, meaning most of the meal was just rice. While the food didn’t taste terrible, it was definitely not worth $ 10.50. Not the worst, but definitely could have been better.

I came here for lunch and got the hot-stone bi bim bap, and it was fantastic! The kochujang was also very good — the waitress said they make it in-house. I’ll be back for more of the Korean food!

I absolutely love Korean food. So I would love to eat here. But I can’t, I wont. This is because I walked in at 3:15 p.m. on a weekday afternoon when there was nobody in the place and ask to use the restroom. I was told I could not and I had to go elsewhere. This really sucks because I really, really had to go.

After moving to Denver from Orange County I have longed for really good Asian cuisine. I have found good sushi(Sushi Bara) and good Vietnamese(not as good as Brodards in GG, but good) in Phở Lee and Phở 95. However Korean is elusive in Denver metro. Imagine my surprise when an unassuming strip mall in Boulder held a hidden gem, The Korean House. The Korean House is a very nice, small Korean restaurant run by the sweetest Korean gentleman who takes great pride in his food, and it shows. If you are an experienced Korean eater, the world is your oyster here. If not, do yourself a favor and have the Hot Stone Beef Bibimbop. It is a beef and vegetable dish served on a hot stone with rice and egg and it is what food is supposed to be. If you are not a fan of egg, the beef blugogi is a long time favorite that will never cease to please. Both include Miso soup that is homemade and really, really good. Don’t miss it. Either way, as a Korean food virgin, or an experienced eater of this wonderful Asian nation, you will not be disappointed and see why I drive 50 miles each way to eat here. Edit: Be sure to ask for the spicy sauce if you are a spicy lover. It will bring tears to your eyes. And forehead.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder! My friend and I have a joke that we can’t even say the name without truly craving it and making a trip over for a meal. That being said, it is a different dining experience than most Boulderites have been trained to expect. It is quiet, and a bit slow, and the incredibly kind chef/owner is difficult to understand at times, but it is all a beautiful addition to a unique experience. Some of the menu items aren’t available at certain times of the day, or if the restaurant is busier, but it’s acceptable because of the care that you see go into each and every dish. The chef will tell you he is unable to make something if he cannot devote the proper time and care to make it as exceptional as it can be. I can see how this could frustrate someone who is used to being able to demand whatever they’d like. It’s a restaurant, and you need to order off of the menu and accept unavailable items, it is not your private kitchen. If you want a custom cooked meal, created by your own momentary desires, go to the grocery store and cook it yourself. I assure you that you will be missing out on one of the most delicious meals you can find in Boulder. The Kimchi Seafood Udon is amazing. It comes out piping hot and full of veggies, seafood(some of it is the fish cake variety), and perfectly cooked noodles. The Soft Tofu Soup is to die for, with egg and melting tofu in an amazing broth and served with rice. I would recommend all of the starters except the Tuna Pokky, and that is only because I haven’t tried it yet. All in all, I highly recommend Korea House. Go in with time and patience, as well as an open heart and pallet. You might see me there too.

I moved to Boulder a few years ago and used to love this place! I would come here every couple of months and just rave about it to my friends & co-workers. Unfortunately, the place has taken a nose dive, the last few months. The last 2 times I have been there, the place was completely empty and of course, extremely quiet. My husband and I didn’t think much about it since we were looking for a romantic atmosphere and this seemed to be just right. WRONG! I ordered the Galbi(short ribs) Bento Box it was so much tinier that it used to be and a little more expensive. The meat was chewy and I was only given a tablespoon of kimchii, at best. I wanted to order some wine, the«chef» said it was discontinued. After doing a quick google search, I found the wine at a nearby liquor and no, is not discontinued. My husband on the other hand, wanted to ordered one of their sushi which they have an extensive list of on the menu and some iced tea. He tried ordering 3 different types of sushi, none were available. After asking the«chef», what he had available, he went to the back and gave my husband a list of about 10 sushi items!!! Why give us the menu if you don’t have most of the items available for purchase? A few minutes after ordering, my husband tried the sweet tea and it was just disgusting. It tasted rancid almost and very old. We asked the lady if we could please had some fresh iced tea or pick something else since the tea tasted bad. She went to get the«chef» and his exact words were«I made the tea this morning. If you don’t like it, don’t order tea here again». Extremely rude!!! We won’t be back. That’s for sure!

You, the person who gave this restaurant one star bc it’s not«children friendly.» Maybe check their menu before you go? So thoughtless to give one star bc a restaurant is trying to make real cuisine and doesn’t offer chicken nuggets. Customer service: Our server was extremely friendly and said something about his customers being family. I am the review hero who brings fairness to a world of delusional customers wreaking havoc upon businesses.

The food is so so and the service was just rude. My mother and I came but only my mom wants to eat and the waiter says i cannot do it next time I come. Well, I definitely wont come again.

My family tried to have a lunch here, but couldn’t because this restaurant is «not» children friendly at all. If you have any child, I strongly do not recommend this Korea house. It was awful experience for my family.

Nothing fancy and lots of the tchotchkes, but the bibimbop was very tasty. I’ll be glad to return.

As a Korean I know this isn’t a great korean restaurant, they have became too Americanized and I really didn’t like the buttery BiBibap, Nor the very poor side dish service(Much poorer than any other korean restaurants in Denver, LA, wherever I’ve been to in US) But I still give 3 stars cause it was convenient for me to have a lunch when I was in Boulder and the owner was very kind. Also I thought, since it is very Americanized, it might actually taste better and less bizarre to those who are not used with Korean food.

Coming from an Asian American, this place has terrible tasting food. Very bland and does not resemble anything close to Korean or Japanese food.

The food is excellent. Based on the reviews it clear you need to be very polite to the staff, owner and chef. If you can do this and stick to the menu then you can get some food food. Just had a great Bento Box and BeeBimBo!

Some of the worst customer service I have ever received. The owner is a argumentative jerk. When walking out he locked the door and we ended up calling the police. Never go there. This place should not be in business. The food portions where small. And do not ask for anything that’s not on menu. This all started because I asked him for a side of tofu. He then said that tofu is easy to make and to go home and make it yourself. Along with when he was in the back and we stood up to call him. When he came back told us to stay in your seat like elementary kids. Literally worse service I have ever received.

This place is a joke, right? If you’re interested in a dining experience that belongs in an episode of Seinfeld(think Soup Nazi minus the good food) then go to Korea House. I ordered egg rolls, and a sushi roll for a late lunch. I was yelled at by the owner for not getting an entrée, told if I ever came back I had to order an entrée because«This is a restaurant, not your house.» and, «You can’t possibly think sushi is an entrée, IT’S $ 4.50!!!». He even followed me to the bathroom door while explaining to me, with his finger in my face, that he would«let this slide since it was my first time there.» He brought my sushi out first and explained to me AGAIN, that it was just an appetizer and next time I can’t order just appetizers. The only reason why I didn’t walk out was because If I didn’t eat something, I was going to faint! He brought out my check, $ 9.77 and told me I needed to pay with cash because there was a $ 10 minimum for a card. Well… a card was all I had so I just told him to run it for $ 10. His entire body slumped down when he heard this! He rolled his eyes and groaned, «You can’t do that, it has to be cash!».I rolled my eyes back and told him to run it for $ 11. He ran my card for a $ 11 and I tipped $ 1 because I was AFRAID he would chase me down the street if I didn’t leave him a tip. This place is a nightmare and I can’t imagine having a worse dining experience then this for the rest of my life. If you ever come to this place, l fully recommend ordering egg rolls, and a $ 4.50 sushi roll and get ready to watch the show. Do it soon through, CLEARLY this place is hurting for money– it can’t possibly be around for much longer.

I have become hooked to this place. The galbi is tender and delicious, and I love the bim bim bop. The owner is very friendly and the waitstaff are attentive. Yes, you can get better Korean in aurora but that’s a long drive!(I do wish that we got the variety of side dishes that I’ve seen at some of the Korean restaurants in aurora) The other reason this got 4 instead of 5 stars are the portions. Usually I don’t eat much so the portions are just right, but if I’m really hungry I have to order 2 entrees! We have eaten here probably 30 times over the years, and I love that the owner and waitstaff often know what we want before we order. Good people, good food!

It’s been over 2 years since my first meal here and I’m still a regular customer! The owner is the best and frequently kicks down free sake refills and Kirin bottles. Such a great way to reward regulars. We bring friends here and turn them into regulars as well. Such a wonderful restaurant!

Beef slime. I got Galbi beef that slid through my fingers like snot. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. The chicken was rubbery and chewy. It seemed like it had marinated for days but not been cooked for more than a minute. The owner was crazy angry when I asked for a description of the noodle dishes as there was no explanation beyond the Korean names. He took an order before I was ready and was then angry when I clarified that I had not ordered and was just trying to figure out what I wanted. After receiving gross food and tiny portions, $ 27.45 for two take out orders, I asked for a refund and the owner refused that or to remake it. I contacted the Boulder Health Department because I am concerned the meat was truly rotten. Disgusting.
