Great find — I wish I had known about it sooner! The cheese plates have a great selection and are served with a crusty baguette, honey and a jam. All of the selections were savory and they have good size portions of each. We also split a sandwich and their chicken salad and were very impressed with the quality of all the food. They had some great soup selections that I cannot wait to try. The only reason for non-five stars was the staff; the main woman working was pretty rude from the time we ordered to when we left. We were looking for a place to sit, and she told us we had to eat outside since she just mopped(it was at least 2.5 hours before closing). We had a few questions on the cheeses when they were brought out but our trays was set down and she left without a word. Hopefully someone else will be working next time…

What a wonderful Parisian find tucked away among strip mall chaos in Boulder! I had a scrumptious cheese sandwich to accompany a lovely tomato bisque soup(although it was served lukewarm). Craft sodas and great wine selection made for tasty accompaniments. Many savory cheeses to select from at this foodie palace– I wanted to have someone create a distraction so I could make off with a plate-sized cheese wheel…

Bad food and service. Went in for a «french» salad and waited fifteen minutes even though there were no orders in front of mine. The place reeked of stale cheese since a large table of dirty dishes was sitting there. The girl behind the counter didn’t bother to clean it. The salad was not even dressed. Some packaged greens with unappetizing clumps of goat cheese on top with a thick yellow glob of «vinaigrette» on the side. Could not dress the salad. Walked out without eating it. Will not return.

I’ve given this place 4 try’s now and it never changes: — horrible portion sizes — expensive — mediocre taste at best Never order their grilled cheese, it is a 30 cent hoagie style bread with a bunch of butter and a tablespoon of grated cheese all for $ 5. This is terrible, I can’t believe they are still in business. If you believe in value and quality ingredients combined with tasty meals do NOT step foot in this uninspiring establishment.

This place was ok. People seem to like their sandwiches. I was just there to buy cheese and take it home for a party. I guess I expected more fr a cheese specialty shop. I still think whole foods on pearl has them beat by a long shot for price and selection and quality.

Great sandwiches. Best cheeses in town. Great selection. Great wine pairings. Friendly service. Definitely worth stopping in!

I don’t understand the rave reviews. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but my Spanish Serrano ham sandwich was just awful. The bread was dense and tasteless, the olive tapenade was overpowering, they forgot to add greens, it was tiny, and it cost a fortune. Regarding the cheese, cracker, etc selection, they appear to have most of the same things you can find at Whole Foods.

I really like what this store is doing! They have a great concept mixing a cheese shop with a high end sandwich board. The staff is well informed and can discuss the varied cheeses they have to offer. They offer a selection of craft beer and wine to go with their food. I tried the turkey baguette. The bread is fresh baked and dressed with just the right amount of apricot spread rich cheese. We tried a few of the cheeses including a cheddar and hard cheese similar to parmesan. I brought home an aged gouda, some of their homemade pesto spread, and some horseradish habanero pickles. I definitely recommend stopping in for lunch, what a treat.

Sometimes it takes a second chance for me to fully understand a restaurant, or in this case a bistro/cheese shop. Personally I think to help me understand TCT better I needed to step back and realize that this is more of a bistro than a fast casual style grab n go place. I still personally an not sure that unless I need a very specific cheese, say a Pecorino Toscanini, I will be buying my daily cheese ration here. The food is still good, and if you change your mindset and let yourself be transported to a nice countryside bistro in France, add a glass of wine, the price seems to fit. After the owner explained how they’re open to cheese talk, and they are not the ultimate authority on cheeses, it made me feel like they’re more approachable and a place you could come to discuss what cheese you should buy for a certain event. We also learned that they get place n bake bread from Spain, and upon first look, it looks like normal grocery store baguette, but after eating it, it transports me back to Spain and eating a bocodillo(small sandwich). He mentioned that people will come in just to buy the bread, and I think for our next pintxo/tapas night, we know where to get our bread. So overall, this would be a great lunch spot, or even a nice fill-in for happy hour. I think I remember seeing $ 3 glasses of wine on Thursdays!

How have I never been to this place before? I showed up for a Unilocal event an hour early. I thought I’d just sip a glass of wine and read. The staff was incredibly friendly, recommended a fantastic cheese and wine pairing making me so excited for the pairings to come. If you’re looking for a good start to an evening out — this is it. If your looking for a good lunch — this is it. Need that perfect cheese for your upcoming diner party? The cheese course has you covered. I will definitely be back.

There is a lot I like about The Cheese Course. My husband and I shared a couple sandwiches, tasted a selection of cheeses and cold cuts, and everything was very, very good. They use quality ingredients, you can tell by just tasting the bread(they import it frozen from Spain), it makes all the difference. The atmosphere is nice, very casual, which is perfect for lunch or a relaxed dinner. The owner is friendly and very approachable, which is always a plus. And if you’d rather eat at home, they sell a wide variety of cheese, salami, bread(you can even buy it frozen and enjoy it freshly baked at home), jams etc. If all you need is bread, the baguette is already worth the trip for $ 1.99! I can’t wait to go back and bring some of my friends!

Quite possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Disclaimer: I wouldn’t call myself a sandwich«expert,» but I don’t think«enthusiast» would be giving myself too much credit. I work practically next door and had never been in– Groupon gave me a great excuse to try it out. Super cool space inside, amazing outdoor patio. Staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely glad I had stopped in. The sandwich: Prosciutto. Fresh baguette, layer of pesto, generous amount of prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, fresh basil, drizzle of olive oil and balsamic. Believe it or not, better than it sounds. Thank you, Groupon, for the introduction. I’ll be back.

Small but thorough selection. Just moved to town and so glad to find this cheese shop. Been in three times and each time someone different has been very helpful and knowledgeable. They have some lovely aged gouda, up to 5 years I think, garoxta, some lovely blues and real Muenster. I just picked up an epoisses and baguette; so excited for it this evening! They are gracious and very glad to feed you samples.

Amazing Cheese Shop Offering Sandwiches, Cheese Plates and Other Delights to Eat in or Take Out The Cheese Course is a European-style cheese shop with over 100 artisanal cheeses imported from dairy farms all over the world. We decided to split an Italian Cheese Plate which included Robiola, Taleggio and Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses with roasted red pepper, Tuscan honey and sliced baguette. We also bought a ginger beer and a Prosciutto sandwich with fresh Mozzarella and basil, tomatoes, basil pesto, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. We decided to eat in their outside seating area since it was such a beautiful day. The food was absolutely amazing!!! We almost licked the plates! :) If you love cheese this is the place to visit — — you won’t be disappointed!!!

This week I received awesome service at The Cheese Course. The committee I secured the catering for was absolutely enchanted by the sandwiches and desserts(the manager of my office even received praise emails about the food). We look forward to catering with this restaurant again soon. As a note I do want to confirm that The Cheese Course does now provide plates/utensils/cups for catering orders — which we found to be immensely helpful. Additionally I appreciated that the plates were made of compostable material(every little bit helps). The only suggestion I have is to offer group sized beverages for catering orders. Though the individual drinks provide an awesome variety it can be a bit more challenging to manage carrying/transporting a dozen or so drinks.

I don’t understand all the rave reviews, I thought the food here was really bad. It’s your typical boulder hippie food. The broccoli cheese soup was more like broccoli«mush» and look greenish brown. It smelled okay but the taste was very bitter. It was awful. It tasted like they put feta cheese in it! And there were random little white lumps in it, what was that??? I got a pâté and it smelled absolutely rotten I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. The caprese salad tasted like terrible quality tomatoes. The mozzarella slices were wet and mushy. There were some weird dried things I’m assuming dried tomato but in any case they were inedible. The turkey sandwich was on hard french bread and had some weird apricot jam on it. The turkey looks like your could have gotten better from Walmart. The«grilled cheese» was more like the cook didn’t know where the cheese was supposed to go. Instead of having it in the sandwich it was all over the outside of the sandwich. And it was on french bread of all things. It was disgusting and absolutely bizarre. Everything here was absolutely terrible. I threw everything out and wasted $ 40. If you are a typical boulder hippie who doesn’t know good food then this is the right place for you. For anyone else, stay far far away.

So sad this place in Boulder and I live in Denver. I love cheese and wasen’t sure what I wanted when I walked in. Steve the manager walked me through all of the cheeses and answered any questions that I had. I did not by anything, but indulged in the 3 chees accompaniments of honey, nuts, apples, olives, grapes and bread. My friend also and enjoyed some wine with our cheese. The cheese was out standing and the customer service is impeccable. I don’t remember what the name of the cheeses were, but they were delicious. I had questioned Steve about a particular cheese and he was gracious of enough to put together a few samples with that cheese. Now the next day I’m craving it and wish I would have bough it. Love, Love, this place.

I feel as if I was transported to a beautiful and charming French countryside cottage with all things quintessential French. But, in fact, I was in the middle of Boulder, Colorado packed in like a strip mall of sardines. Despite the shopping center location, don’t be fooled by the exterior presence. Adorable tablescapes reminiscent of country chic along with displays upon displays of cheese greet you the moment you walk in; however it’s not in the least intimidating or strife with pretentious culinary cues. It’s simply a diner, where you order at a counter and have your food served at your table. The menu deserves a whole new paragraph, because for a cheese shop — this place has a pretty solid line up of fresh fare. I went for the smoked salmon salad with feta. Though the salad didn’t look tough enough to take me on, it was deceiving. Robust with flavor and topped with a generous portion of salmon that was perfectly complimented by a zesty, but not overpowering, lemon vinaigrette — my ravenous appetite had met its match. I look forward to many more meals at The Cheese Course, but next time I’ll remember to buy some cheese to take home to enjoy and pretend like I am living the life in Provence… or something like that.

Today a select few discriminating Unilocalers gathered here for lunch. Although I was late for the lunch and somewhat preoccupied over a newly-lost gift card, it was still enjoyable to try some of the Cheese Course’s marvelous menu and to visit with Sara, Ashley, Frances, and Tiffany. The food was good. I had an albacore tuna sandwich with gruyère cheese and some tomato bisque soup. Both were perfect, really. The others tried other offerings on the menu and hopefully they will write reviews soon. Sara already did a review weeks ago. The inside of the Cheese Course is far more colorful and bright than what the outside appearance would indicate. There is also a pleasant outdoor patio, which is where we sat. It is nicely separated off from Folsom so you don’t really even notice it. Apparently the word is out about this place because it was quite crowded the whole time we were there. I’ll definitely return, with friends and perhaps family.

I see myself as a potential fan even though they have just opened and are still working things out. I was here twice today. This is the first branch of this cheese shop/quick casual eatery outside their home area of South Florida. Most of the people on the premises today were from the FL locations. They were all super friendly, informative and attentive. On my first visit, I browsed the large selection of cheeses, imported as well as US artisanals, including local Haystack. Though most of what I saw is available in a variety of places in Boulder already, they do have them nicely grouped and available to taste. Some were selections from brands I see regularly, but slightly different offerings from those companies. I plan to get a few to try soon. I did get some biscotti thins in a less common flavor than I usually find. The prices seemed a little high on the retail options compared to similar items elsewhere in Boulder. My husband and I went back for a light supper. I had the brie melt(though they list it as «grilled» it isn’t) and it is better this way. I got the added serrano ham option with the cornichons on the side and an iced tea. My husband had the roast beef with blue cheese spread and veggies. Both were on white baguette, though there is a whole wheat option too. They are the only bread I saw. They have several salad and soup options and combos with a half sandwich. We each had a cookie for dessert. The prices seemed comparable to other sandwich shops in town. We need to try more, though both of these were very good. Everything was very fresh which was to be expected for the 3rd day open. I hope they can maintain the quality. That’s always an issue for fast casual eateries in Boulder. They do not yet have their beer/wine license but expect it by spring. And the outdoor patio deck is built though not weather appropriate yet. The location is a little awkward especially for locals as the front and rear doors are reversed from the previous tenant of the space. The revised parking will take some getting used to as the main entrance is where the old loading zone was. But they are off to a good start.
