This is a cool little spot that provides an alternative to bars or a good dessert place after dinner as they are open longer than a lot of other places. In fact, this is how we found it — everything else was closed one night. We were there on a fairly chilly night so when I saw the lava cake, I couldn’t resist. I got the smaller size, which was about all I could handle. The cake was hot and oozing with chocolate when you dug into it. It also had a scoop of salted caramel gelato melting on top of it. I’m not sure there could have been a better dessert that night as it was perfectly executed! The space is small but perfect for a little gelato shop. It was great to grab a seat, have great dessert and chat until it was time to go!

Love their gelato — some normal flavors, some interesting flavors. They do a great job and deliver wonderful and interesting flavors every time. I definitely think that they are on a higher caliber of gelaterias.

This place used to be so good– I feel like something changed? Used to have really good soup and could put toppings on it– didn’t have that last time I went in. Everything is pre made and wrapped. Way overpriced for quality.

Five stars just because the two kids working tonight were a riot! I ended up I Boulder for dinner and had to make a stop for gelato. So happy we did as they staff had us laughing and having a great time.

Small room. Best for close encounters of the sweet kind! Root beer float with the Indonesian Vanilla Gelato is superb! Even gave us the whole Boylan bottle the root beer came in.

This quaint gelato scoop shop is adorable, and their gelato is unique and scrumptious. I’m giving it four stars because I made the mistake of coming here to buy lunch. At first, I wanted a soup and corn bread, as posted, but they had no cornbread in reality. The girl who served we was super sweet and apologetic about it, so I couldn’t be that upset. And luckily, I was able to secure a grilled cheese, but apparently those two shards of baguette used in my sandwich were really the only two pieces of bread they had left in the shop, because they had to turn down the guy after me. Anyway, I got a California fig gelato, a grilled cheese, and a cup of gazpacho. The fig gelato is truly wonderful. It tastes just like sweet figs and has a pleasant, thick texture with a subtle crunch from the fig seeds. The grilled cheese was even surprisingly good, with crisp bread, warm, gooey cheese, and tangy tomatoes. The gazpacho I didn’t like, but I guess I’m just not into cold soup. I’d totally come here again for the gelato, but now I know better than to come here expecting lunch.

Sorry, but as a European I can confirm that this is not real gelato. In fact, it is more like ice cream. Then ice crystals are all wrong and it should be smooth. The servers should not have to force the serving tool into the gelato! I also have found 5 ice blocks in my gelato! THERESHOULDNOTBEICEINMYGELATO! Save yourself and go to a better gelato place…

I would love to give Two Spoons a 5 star rating because the gelato is delicious, but yet again it’s closed when it should be open according to their website and even the hours listed on the store front! Here it is 6:30pm on a Monday evening and the hours listed on the website say open till 2am & even the more reasonable times listed on the door say open till 9 tonight, but low and behold, the door is locked & the employees are cashing out the register. If this was the first time we had ran into this problem there, I might chalk it up too bad luck, but this is the third time we’ve tried to patron this eatery, only to be turned away with a locked door! You have to be open for me to spend money there and I’m pretty much done trying to give you my hard earned cash! Sad day.

I stopped by here last minute for lunch recently since it looked slow and I thought it would be quick. The place is very small with only a small amount of places to sit. I ordered the caprese sandwich. The sandwich didn’t take too long but for the price I wasn’t all that impressed. The bread was good though. Next time I will order a soup, as everyone that came in after me got one, so it must be good. They have 4 selections a day. The gelato selection looked appealing so I’ll try that as well. Just won’t order another sandwich.

Two Spoons serves up a rotating array of gelatos and soups year-round. Get there early in the day if you want the widest selection of soups which typically feature vegetarian and gluten free options as well as meatier fare. I’ve had a few GF veggie soups here and didn’t find anything to complain about, they weren’t the best I’ve ever had… but they were all good enough to finish without reservation. The GELATO on the other hand is where this place shines. Perfectly creamy, rich gelatos in flavors you may not have dared imagine. They’re happy to mix different flavors in the same container if you’d like and freely give samples so you can know what you’re getting yourself into before committing to a large bowl of a «new to you» flavor. Do yourself a favor and try the California Fig if it’s available… it has a flavor profile that is unmatched by any gelato I’ve indulged in elsewhere. It is a 5+ star treat! Prices fall right around where you’d expect them to fall on the Pearl Street Mall but aren’t ridiculous by any means. So, whether you need a quick, mid-priced lunch or a decadent summery treat… Two Spoons will get the job done!

I’ve had a lot of great gelato when I was traveling in Italy. so… I am very picky with my gelato. Pistachio here is EXCELLENT. I think the best one I’ve ever had! The place is adorable too. Although the line gets kinda long at times and it takes awhile to get the gelato(cuz ppl are sampling forever to order), it’s worth it for me. And they are VERYGENEROUS with the amount they give you.

Four different flavors of sorbetto this afternoon: non-dairy gelato. I tasted all of them and chose a large split single with piña colada and strawberry. Who knew the piña would be my favorite? Server was low key but very helpful with tastes and portions. We ate inside and we had a table to ourselves with effortless conversation for quite a while. Not as bustling as you would think for a summer Sunday. He was playing classic rock the entire time that put me into a groovy mood: Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. I’m not typically listening to either one these days, but they sounded great in that little storefront space. He is a huge vinyl fan of vintage rock, and that topic is always fun to discuss and compare notes. Location is ideal for west side Pearl foot traffic. First rate little gelato shop that deserves its many high ratings.

I have to give 2 spoons only 3 stars. The main reason is because they are always inconsistent. I’ve been there before and had great gelato, scooped nicely, great flavor. Other times, the gelato has seemed semi-melted, grainy and melted as soon as it was handed to me. It doesn’t help that it is always 102 degrees in there. The staff is helpful, not overly exerting themselves at times though. I will say that 2 spoons is my #2 spot in Boulder to get Gelato, right ahead of the stuff in the freezer section at King Soopers.

I really don’t understand the difference between gelato and ice cream. After googling it and taking a bite of their dutch chocolate, I realized I really didn’t care. Absolutely delicious. Thinking that I was behaving myself, I got a small which comes with two flavors. **I couldn’t just have one** BEWARNED! They pack as much as they can into those tiny cups! To the point where it’s basically overflowing. Curse you Two Spoons and your over generous portions! Needless to say I took one for the team and ate the entire thing. Too Good. The employees are extremely nice, I’m sure they would let you sample every flavor. Definitely, worth a stop after dinner.

Ok if you love ice cream then Two Spoons is worth checking out. Technically I guess most of what they have gelato which is super creamy and will require probably hours of running or hot yoga or whatever else people do to work off their ice cream addictions. LOL Evening I was there the person serving was super friendly and we tried 2 or 3 flavors each. They weren’t busy, probably because it was cold outside so trying a few flavors was no problem. I had the chocolate chip malt which was super tasty. Friend had sweet potato pecan which was interesting. Can’t speak to their afternoon soup service, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same soups as Spruce St. Confections whose soups are awesome. Great place for a post dinner dessert if you are dining at Kitchen or Pasta Jays(located between both on same side of street).

***Two Spoons, located in a very nice shopping district in Boulder, features decent gelato, but the flavors were just okay to good and not excellent*** Two Spoons is a gelato spot located on the busy Pearl Street in Boulder, which has all kinds of shops and eateries. This gelato shop features a good variety of flavors including several popular gelato flavors like pistachio. Both flavors I had were very creamy – maybe slightly too melted for my taste but a satisfying consistency overall. The best flavor I had was the toasted almond. It had a very smooth consistency but also featured a great nutty flavor. The almond flavor really came across well, which was not the case with the pistachio flavor(only a mild pistachio flavor). The dulce de leche flavor had a satisfying caramel flavor though it did not really taste like sweetened condensed milk like the really good dulce de leche ice creams and desserts I have had. Service was fine and prices were about what you would expect to pay for a high-end gelato shop(similar prices and portion sizes to Los Angeles gelato shops). Two Spoons is an okay spot for a frozen treat. I liked their toasted almond gelato and I am sure they have other flavors I would like. Still, I think I would put Two Spoons a notch below some of the very good Los Angeles area gelato shops like Al Gelato, Bulgarini and Gelato Bar, which feature much more distinct flavors(smoother and creamier consistency too). Parking around Pearl Street can be hard to find. There are a few parking structures nearby and one of them was free on the weekend I visited Two Spoons.
