My girlfriends and I had a good time here. The band was great. The service at the tables was excellent. There was an odd smell though and it was super HOT, so dress lightly!

Interesting atmosphere, great band– but did have the smell of urine. Fun for the summer crowd.

You didn’t know, neither did we, but: after some time(when?) you cannot enjoy your drink outside. You’d better enjoy the band playing 7 nights a week and not coming to have a drink outside on the terrace surrounded by trees.

$ 5 cover charge to get in to this dive bar. There was a band there, The Slackers, and they did a great job! I was with my cousins and dad and sister and it was a great night.

I would give this place zero stars if it was an option. Very unprofessional staff. The«bouncers» are 18 year old kids who claimed my ID was fake even after showing them four identifications. As I walked away they yelled fake you’re not getting in.

Great Dive Bar. This is one of the most fun places for music and fun on the Cape. Get’s very crowded so get there early if you even want to pray for a chance for chair. Reasonably priced too.

Ahh the Woodshed. The family dive bar. The bar my parents secretly wait for our arrival on the the cape so they can justify going there. It’s pretty much the only place to hang out on the cape after 10pm so there is that. but that is part of it’s charm. A mixed crowd of tourists and locals, cheap beer and sunburns. A classic. I’m taking off two stars because it’s cash only and the ATM fee is the highest I have ever seen anywhere. Also — and don’t kill me for saying, but you know you are in Massachusetts when every band is playing Steve Miller, The Boss and Dave Matthews covers. but since this is like one of two consistent live music spots on the cape, maybe we could try a something a little different once and a while. I know you like to dance.

We stopped in around 10 to hear the High Tide Hooligan’s first set. The Woodshed offers the best vibe on Cape in the oddest most cramped but COOLEST and FUNNEST settings. we love this spot. it’s always hopping and always reveals a cast of characters. My man loved the Cisco IPA, me a nice cold Guinness. The band was fantastic!

Definitely a dive bar. Went here on a Saturday around lunchtime for cheap PBR pounders and maybe some food. What I found was a dark, actual woodshed converted into a bar. Awesome! The place had about 10 people already there after opening and first thing I noticed is that there were people with babies in here. Word. Second, there was dirt all around my PBR can. Usually I don’t let that go but this is a woodshed. The server, Callie, was awesome about it and tried to clean as much as she could off. Was able to have lunch on the back deck though. Great breeze back there on wooden picnic benches. I ordered the scallop roll and it was surprisingly good for a bar. I guess it would be because it’s the Cape. And Callie was all too attentive by actually coming out to the back deck to see if we needed anything else. I would definitely come back for some dive action.

Well it’s a dive. But a fun dive. As long as you get there early during the summer because WHOA does that line get long. Is it worth the wait? Nope. Find somewhere else to go. But if you can walk in, enjoy role local music scene and the local color. Cheap ish drinks also.

I went there the other night just to check it out. Yikes. It’s disgusting. It smells like every dive bar I’ve ever walked into. Like drinks that have been spilled on the floor for decades. The bar itself is tiny and they have to fit a band in there, too. There is a larger outside deck with a beat up picnic table and benches built along the side. Here’s the deal, if you are in your late teens or early to mid 20s and like to get shitfaced, and party around standing room only crowds of other shitfaced people, then 5 stars. If you’d like to find a great bar with more than Bud on draft and the feeling that it’s been cleaned within the last 20 years, this is not your place.

Went here the other night with a group of girlfriends for a bachelorette party. We had an amazing time!!! The band was awesome! Very crowded though, they could have removed a few more of the tables down in the front near the band to make more room for dancing. And the bathrooms weren’t great, very small. But otherwise, great ambiance!

LOVETHESHED. My family and friends from home live on the cape and about 40 mins away from the shed, but we always visit a few times during the summer for a good time! Used to work at a summer camp in brewster and we’d frequent there on Monday and Thursdays for the slackers. A bunch of us «retired counselors» come back every summer and party at the shed. We love it and some of our best memories are there. The $ 5 cover is worth it, great band, awesome people, and relaxed atmosphere. Sure, it’s cramped and hot — but it’s called the woodshed for a reason. Don’t ever wear layers. If you dance as much as we do, you’ll be dripping in sweat.

Stay clear of the Woodshed! Their slogan is ‘the friendly bar’, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. We called to ask about their live entertainment schedule, and were hung up on – twice! The woman who answered was unbelievably rude! She said ‘if you want to know what type of music the band plays-fucking come and don’t call and waste my time.’ So trashy. When I called back to ask for a manager, she said ‘I’m all you get. And I’m too busy for this shit.’ Then she hung up, again! SO trashy. This is so unfortunate, since we’re just a bunch of local girls looking for some drinks and dancing on a Monday night. I recommend that management takes a good look at their staff, and evaluates the value that they add to this establishment. I can guarantee you that the woman who answered the phone at 12:30pm on August 26th doesn’t add anything. Time for some changes. Awful.

This is our Thursday night spot! The Slackers are awesome musicians and they are fun loving and play awesome sing along/dance songs. Drinks are small and they don’t do «tall» glasses which kind of stinks because you have to go to the bar more, and actually end up drinking more because they still make the drinks stiff. Always a fun time, always enough parking, and have never had to wait in line. Pretty hot in there in the summer, and they are cash only. Bring your dancing shoes!

I’ve been struggling with a proper review of this place so I’ll make it easy: If you like fun, unique places to hang out, drink cheap beer, play classic rock on a jukebox, and just have an overall great time with friendly people then check this ish out.

«The Woodshed Lounge» hahaha how did it get this name? If by lounge you mean cramped-in wooden no frills bar with dust in the rafters older than my Dad, then, yes. Lounge it is. Really though, I love the Woodshed! Part biased in my review, as I worked there for 2 summers many, many, many years ago, on recommendation of my father and uncle that it was a blast there. Simple and fun job, as a cocktail waitress back then… cash only. No frozen drinks, no coffee drinks, only Bud on tap, no high-maintenance drinks, no food. It has since then changed a bit. Very little bit… they now have Bud Light on tap as well. And the drafts have gone up a quarter or so. That’s about it. So…the ambiance is interesting… it’s really no surprise it’s called The Woodshed… since that’s just what it is. Picture hanging out in a barn with lots of tiny tables and lots of candlelight. And a band. And a sh*t ton of drunk people, and there you have it. There is so much random crap all over the place. One night after closing I was counting my money at the bar, and I see a pink bra strung over one of the lights. Me: When did that bra get thrown up there? Bartender: Seriously? This is your second year working here… that’s been there for 3 years. Wicked pissah. Like I said. Lots of random crap all over the place. The Shed is a very unique place. I try to head in at least once a summer to say hi to old friends. It’s like a time warp there… same bartenders, some of the same doormen, same regulars in their same spots, drinking their same beers. Same ridiculously cramped bathroom with the world’s smallest mirror. Dirt lot parking. I love that about it though… it never changes year after year. No updates, minimal upkeep. Good old Woodshed. Tips: 1. Get there before 10. It gets super packed, and closes at 1. 2. Buy a couple beers/drinks at a time, as they are small… and did I mention it gets super packed? It may take a bit to get another drink… although the bartenders really hustle. 3. Buy your cocktail waitress a shot, and do one with her. Don’t question me. Just do it. Then do it again. 4. Don’t ask for ridiculous drinks. This is not Boston. Keep it simple. Rum and Coke, Miller Light, tequila shot. If you ask for a mai tai or cosmopolitan, or something equally fru fru you just don’t belong, and need to leave. 5. The big Shed parties are the Brew Run, which is a 3 mile run that starts and ends at the Shed, the end of the season Labor Day party, that you will likely black out during each year.(or maybe that’s just me), and the Halloween party. 6. If you want to grab food before heading in, go to the Brewster Inn and Chowder House next door… really good. 7. Be careful driving back to wear you came from. Cab it if you can. The cops are a bitch. They have their hiding spots, and they will follow you for a bit, as there is nothing else going on in Brewster. Nothing.
