Cheap, creative, delicious sushi. Will be back, new sushi spot in the neighborhood for sure. Get the bombs and any roll with guacamole.

I wasn’t even planning on coming here, but decided to come here anyways as I past by it feeling a bit of craving. The place is pretty dimmed, it was kind of hard to see what I was eating though, they could turn the lights up maybe just a little bit. I ordered the Pork Betty, the BBQ Skewer, the Grilled Salmon Saikyo Yai, and the Jumbo Curry Rice. To start off, the Port Betty is JUSTAMAZING. The sauce was very well paired with the pork belly and the pork belly melted in my mouth! There was a good amount of it too. I don’t really like pork belly, but I would definitely come back to Bozu to order another plate of it. Next I had the Jumbo Curry Rice, it was pretty jumbo(share it with another person), but I didn’t really taste the curry much, it was my my least favorite plate out of the other ones. Then I had the Grill Salmon Saikyo Yai, my boyfriend LOVED it, it was his favorite dish, the vegetable was very well marinated and the Salmon was extremely fresh. The sauce was good for the BBQ Skewer, but the beef cube itself was a little bit tough. Overall it was a great experience, not to mention that the bill was only $ 50.08! It was actually one of the best dinners that I’ve had in a while. I will definitely come back here next time and order the Pork Betty again, and maybe this time I will order the bombs.

Low key, hipster, delicious original food. Really liked: Fried chicken, Party Bomb, Grilled Seabass was excellent. 3 different soy sauces and Fresh wasabi — must have!

Love this place, they got some awesome sushi bombs. Food is exceptionally good, only downside to this place is the lighting which is a little on the dark side, but it fits the neighborhood. They should consider putting some spot lights right above the dining tables to give it a little more lighting. And after dinner definitely try the ice cream shop next door at –321 Ice Cream shop

Looking for service with a smile? You won’t find it here. I came during Memorial Day Weekend, restaurant was almost empty at 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday… however, servers avoided eye contact. Food quality was okay but you can definitely find better elsewhere. A lot of fusion rolls and«bombs.» We had the seaweed salad(it was pretty good) and I had the spicy tuna roll and salmon/uni sushi special. Total came out to something like 40 bucks without ordering alcohol. Oh, and the restaurant is so dark you wouldn’t be able to read the menu if you’re over 40 years old. Nobody said goodbye to us as we left… Food was not worth the price/awful service!

Some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while. The party bomb and party bomb special are worth getting. They are basically rolls without seaweed that are shaped like mini candle holders. And their different soy sauces are also a nice touch. The pork Betty and the steak skewers were also amazing. Overall, great food. However, the service can be a little slow but if you go into it expecting it then you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great place to throw a party or go with just one other person.

Bozu never fails to satisfy me. The sushi bombs are a unique sensation of texture and flavor, the taste and techniques truly stand out in the crowd. Pork Betty will also blow you out of the water if you’re into pork belly(which if you’ve never tried, I seriously suggest you do). I constantly talk this place up to anyone looking for Japanese food in Brooklyn. Couldn’t find a single bad thing to say about this place and I’ve been back at least a dozen times since I tried it! 6 stars

Bozu is always a top choice for sushi on a random night. Fish is always fresh, specials are always new, and crowd is always hip! My top dishes are the hotate punch, salmon uni roll, dragon roll, pork belly and the edemame –which is made differently than most places, so if you wanna try something different to an old classic that’s a good choice !! One negative is no reservations and long wait on a weekend. Update: this restaurant is good for the food and that’s about it. I just dropped my 5 star review to a 3 star. We had dinner here on a Monday, no wait, waitress came to us once… Maybe she ran away or maybe she went into a sushi bomb coma in the back but it took forever for us to order additional drinks or food. We ate our appetizers and our sushi came out and the waitress forgot about our old dirty plate. That poor plate sat at the edge of our table until the bill came. Which luckily came out in 2 milaseconds. In conclusion, food was excellent– staff were not. Gonna give this restaurant a rest for a while.

The whole place is literally perfection. My only complaint is that I come here at least once if not twice a week and the manager/owner whatever she is never takes notice and never hooks up a table when there’s a crazy line or even buys a round of drinks. **Keep your regulars regular** I can’t even take a point away for it tho… that’s how fucking great this place is.

Ugh such a good find! Completely unassuming when you are outside. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place after a failed bowling attempt at Brooklyn Bowl. Apparently there were a lot of reservations that night but the host asked us very politely that if we did not mind, he could seat us immediately as long as we finished up in an hour. This man had never seen me eat sushi so yes, yes I can definitely devour the food in under an hour. After being seated, I was very intrigued by some things in the menu called sushi bombs. We ordered one of the special bombs that night(I want to say it was blue fin, but I forgot), the mexican bomb, and 4 rolls. The special bomb was delicious! Oh, and the little sauces that it came with, so good! Everything was fresh and presented beautifully. It truly felt like I was eating art. Easily finished everything in less than 45 minutes and boy, was I a happy girl walking out of there.

Yesterday I went to Bozu with other 7 friends. Overall it was a positive experience. Pros: good quality of seafood, the tempura was ok. Cons: the Valdobbiadene was not great and as choices of beer there was only Sapporo light left and another one. The place is nice but we had to sit in the back, that it was not so great

the moment we walked into the joint, it was total hipster overload — and red flags began to go up. with reassurance from my buddy though, i hesitantly put our name down for a 30 minute wait. the rest of the evening was sake overload and have to say, totally worth the wait.(had two beers next door at Clem’s). service was helpful and friendly. the ambience is cozy and chic. the appetizers were yummy but it was the sushi that was really threw the meal over the top. very fresh fish, the rice was perfect temperature and portion. just writing this review has me drooling for more…

Made a reservation for Friday night dinner. Was quickly seated. Enjoyed every minute at the restaurant. The ambience is cool and quiet. The staff are friendly and the food was so fresh. My friend and I ordered two appetizers(one shrimp and one pork-belly), they were amazing! We tried a lot of their sushi’s off of their Valentine’s Day special menu and they were really delicious. The food was plated beautifully and their drinks are really refreshing. Try the lychee martini next time!

I come here to get absolutely bombed and went with the Mexican Bomb this time around! I love Bozu I had a Japanese girlfriend who used to take me here once a week. This time I got the Seaweed Salad, the Mexican Bomb with salmon, avocado and green tomato sauce and the AB Crunchy Shrimp Roll. I’ve had sushi all over Manhattan and the crunchy shrimp roll with tempura flake and spicy mayo is one of the best rolls I’ve had, try this one if you come here the simple combination of these three ingredients is mind blowing! I had Sapporo’s…can’t leave that out.

The sushi bombs are da bomb! The two tunas ones were my favorite along with the scallop. The tuna tartar and tuna tataki were really good. Everything was well priced. Service was good and attentive and the interior is cute. Would definitely recommend and come back here.

I read through some of the not so great reviews for this place, but I’m not sure why. I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary, and our table was waiting reserved for us. The restaurant is cozy and has more seating than you would think for the typical Williamsburg restaurant. We ordered some cocktails(the Midori Margarita was incredible) and split the party bomb platter, along with BBQ steak skewers, tempura shrimp, and fried tako balls(a must try). Everything was incredibly delicious. The portions aren’t huge for the price, but they are no smaller than any other pricey sushi restaurant in the area. Everything was also incredibly delicious and the service was super attentive. There wasn’t a single item that myself or my boyfriend didn’t thoroughly enjoy and we had enough privacy to enjoy ourselves. Definitely a must visit sushi place in Brooklyn.

We had a reservation for 4 and 7:30 on a Tuesday. The place was filling up but sure enough, we were seated right away due to our reservation. Will give a few points for that since most places in Brooklyn barely even take reservations. Interesting concept with the sushi bomb. The menu also had a lot of vegetarian selections, which was great for my vegetarian friend. However, the novelty stops there. The place is really nice and quaint, but dark and cramped. The wait staff was very attentive and I don’t think there was ever a time where our glasses were not full. However the prices are pretty expensive given the small portions. Our bill for 4 came out to be a little over $ 100 and we didn’t even eat that much or left feeling too full. Would recommend if you don’t want the traditional sushi place and looking for something quirky and different. Personally, I’m not sure if I will be coming back again.

Pricy? Yes given their small portions. But their sushi bombs are to die for. It’s a different take on your typical sushi in which a special topping and sauce is placed on top of the chopped up sashimi, which sits on top of a half circular bed of rice. Definitely worth the venture out to Brooklyn as not many places really specialize in this. Although the party bomb set looks like a lot, one person can finish the entire platter by themselves. At least that’s why my friend and I plan on doing when we return LOL.

Great place for sushi(the non traditional kind). We came here for new years and got in with a last minute reservation. Wonderful service which was helpful without being over bearing or rushed. The restaurant is dark and well decorated without being kitschy. It looks like the seats at the bar are the best if you are with a date but we were seated on the side at a small table that was not noisy and nice just for us. The food was great, the apps are different and we tried lotus root and fried shrimp that they prepare with rice noodles which is a cool take on a classic preparation. Then we had the sushi bombs which are like mega pieces of sushi. You can get a combo that comes with 12 pieces 3 of 4 different varieties. These were great but I think I’ve had better sushi, it was well done but really a lot to put in your mouth. Then we ordered the chicken which was flavorful but I was basically already full. We had a really nice white italian wine but the sake list was pretty extensive. Really lovely meal in Williamsburg where you are close to everything for drinks after.
