I would give this place zero stars if it hadn’t been for the awesome karaokin’ ladies who helped to make this experience not a complete failure. Went here several months ago — service was unbelievably slow(we were still waiting for our food an hour in) and the food was not good.

Quiet, romantic restaurant with great Carribean food. I think I may have been here a few years ago, but it was a low cost place with formica tables and chincy décor. Now it fits in nicely on Smith Street, with soft lighting, an elegant, subdued décor and modern latin music playing in the background. The menu is a bit limited, 6 appetizers, 6 desserts, and about 12 entrees, but it is was well priced at $ 8 – 15 for entrees. I tried the Callaloo with Shrimp and was very impressed with the dish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender and fresh tasting, and the sauce was excellent, a coconut-based cream sauce with callaloo and Carribean spices. The actual menu, as in the piece of paper they hand you, was the only thing out of place, it looked like a laminated take out menu instead of a nicely printed, bound menu. This place also takes credit cards, not very common for the area.
