Not your boring, typical asian place. I have been here many many times and each dinner is surprising and awesome, especially when paired with some of their unique cocktails. This place never fails to provide an excellent food experience.

Yea, no. I’ve eaten here three times: once dine in and twice takeout. I gave it another go because I was pregnant and pheening Korean and this is the only place that delivers near me. I had sushi the first time dining in. Maybe I didn’t order right because it was unremarkable but their current sushi menu looks interesting although I stick to non shellfish offerings. The second two times the takeout seemed carelessly slapped together and was not good at all. Bibimbap was so-so with stale rice but the ramen the second time was dog food bad. I should have taken pictures but wasn’t going to review and didn’t think of it but I clicked on a checkin to claim something or the other and Unilocal prompted me to review.

Was attending an even nearby at BAM and saw the free edamame offer and decided to try! I love the interior and the staff was very friendly. I got the vegetable curry, and my friends got dragon rolls. We also split the vegetable tempura. Wide selection on the menu and decent prices.

Took a half-hour nap while waiting for the waiter to give us the check, but at least my food(ramen with chicken and udon) was alright – unlike the incredibly oversweetened beef ramen my friend ordered. They stream Game of Thrones on Sundays, which could be great if you want a watch party. But not so much if you don’t watch the show, are asked to move tables twice to make room for the projector, promised free shots that never arrive, and then are forgotten about for the entire hour-long episode. They do have pillows though, so I was able to make myself comfortable for my nap. Cannot imagine we will return. We came hoping there would be sangria – there wasn’t – but we had high hopes for the spiked bubble tea. Did not expect to receive a piña colada with a shot of an old fashioned dumped in. The experience was a bit surreal, really.

After a long day post-watching a powerlifting meet, we were in search for an affordable yet delicious restaurant and I saw how many great reviews this place had so we stopped by. Curry katsu: 4⁄5 — I really enjoyed this but the serving size was kinda small especially for the price but that’s NY for ya. Kinjo Ramen: 4⁄5 — BF really liked it and he’s not a ramen fan either! I loved the free edamame for checking in and it’s not just 1 for every table either! Our server was awesome! Don’t think I’d come back here just because I think we can get better bang for our buck in NYC.

If you are in the mood for some sushi or Japanese in general very awesome spot. Cosy atmosphere great for a date or with friends. Sushi was amazing as I had the spicy salmon roll. Also the teriyaki salmon was the best part. The spicy basil fried rice had the perfect kick and succulent flavor. The wings however were okay… Great sauce on the outside but inside they were virtually flavorless. The staff is really great and pretty attentive. Place also features a bar of you are just in the mood for drinks. Overall I had a an awesome experience

Kinjo is really solid choice for Japanese food around Fort Greene. First, let’s start with the drinks: not only does Kinjo have a great selection of cocktails, but they also have several Japanese beers and(my favorite) canned sakes. Sharp and crisp, the sakes go great with the sushi and sashimi.(Big ups to the«panda cup» sake with a neat kitschy glass you can take home!) The food was very tasty, if not groundbreaking. I stuck with the sushi plate which featured the chef’s choice of the best cuts of fish from the day, along with a California roll and a salad. Fresh and well-made. The soy ginger chicken wings, however, were really out of this world. The wings were crispy on the outside, and nice and juicy on the inside. Just the way I like my wings! Better yet, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is both sweet and knowledgable. I certainly recommend Kinjo for a date or a nice meal with friends.

Food is top. Every peace of sushi we had was perfect. The entrees were great. The beer selection is modest and well rounded The cocktails are different, Asian influences on classic cocktails.

Meagan was so sweet! I must say, they were definitely a little short staffed but the happy hour specials made up for it. We had several rolls, kimchi fried rice with bacon, brussel sprouts and about 14 rounds of sake. The $ 5 sakes were a great deal. We also got the free edamame and gyoza to start. Overall, my favorite was the dragon roll and the kimchi fried rice. It was a really good sized portion and tasted delicious! I would definitely recommend this spot to grab a bite before heading to Barclays.

Nice venue offering Korean/Japanese fare. Ordered the yellowtail and salmon sashimi and the kinjo ramen. The yellowtail was pretty solid though the salmon was just average. The ramen was decent, nothing super special, but it does the job when you’re looking for a warm, soupy meal after getting out of the cold. The noodles were a bit overdone for my liking so it’s difficult to praise it. Overall, this venue is sub-par but I guess it could pass for fort greene.

Their food is really Delicious! I recommend their spicy seafood ramen and kale salad as an appetizer. The salad comes with fresh avocados, fresh shaved Parmesan and the dressing to go with the salad is also tasty! Their service is also great, despite it getting extremely busy at some point, the waiters still managed to pay close attention to all of their patrons and were extremely friendly. Will be coming back!

Came here for dinner with a friend on a weekday Pros: — The broth for the ramen was really good — would recommend, however, I wish the broth wasn’t so lukewarm — The chicken wings and seaweed salad were also great(loved how the seaweed salad was a bit hot) — Really like the ambiance — great place to catch up with a friend Cons: — Not the biggest fan of the bento box — the noodles were too salty, the sushi wasn’t great — you’re better off just ordering a sashimi/sushi dish

Great dinner spot with a chill ambience and good service. I stopped here after going to a dance class at the Mark Morris Dance Center in the neighborhood and we were starving for a good meal. We had the edamame to start and split three rolls. y favorite was the hamachi jalapeño roll. It was beautifully prepared and the jalapeño added the perfect spice and flavoring. I also got a draft Sapporo to go with my dinner for only $ 4 on a Friday night. I’d go again to try more of their entrée menu and even brunch. Highly recommend!

Kinjo is where you go with a bunch of indecisive friends. It has something for everyone, and everything is surprisingly good. I’m usually apprehensive about restaurants that serve multiple cuisines(«fusion» often implies that it’s not a master of either cuisine), but Kinjo does it well. They have both Korean and Japanese-inspired dishes, like Korean-fried wings, Korean fried rice, sushi rolls, ramen. The atmosphere is laid-back and casual, plus they have a great happy hour deal. The pork belly and kimchi appetizer is so good and fatty. I’ve gotten it twice now. On cold and rainy nights, Kinjo’s ramen hits the spot. While it doesn’t stack up to Chuko’s in depth or flavor, it’s satisfying enough: the broth is light and they are generous with the toppings(eggs, bamboo shoots, pork belly, bacon, etc.). My boyfriend was pleased with his beef sukiyaki, and the portion was huge. Best of all, it’s never too crowded and is fairly easy to book via OpenTable. I’m glad it’s in the area!

They made us ramen burgers! no beef patty, thick bacon strips but still incredible. First time I had a ramen burger and I now I’m thinking about where I can get one in DC. The owner was very friendly and we chatted about his business and his staff, he kept us entertained while we ate at the bar. Thanks Dan you rock!

Got a beer(wheat Nude Beer) and chirashi to go. Nude Beer was a bit sweet for my taste. Chirashi was good when I ate it at home. But I felt it was slightly pricey, but it is NY. Definitely solid though, will come back. ~ Came back, sat at the bar to have salmon sushi and sake that was recommended to go with sushi. It was solid!

Another great experience at Kinjo. From the very first time I walked into this restaurant, the food has always been Fresh and Fast; nothing disturbs me more than having to wait extra long for flat, flairless food. Again, top notch service; we even lucked out with a Unilocal Bonus for our check in and got an order of Free Edamame! The vibe consistent with my previous visits. See you soon, Kinjo!

Cannot believe I have only just discovered Kinjo. We had the most delicious dinner there! We happened to check it out around 9 pm on a Sunday night — which happened to be their viewing of the Game of Thrones première. So that was funny! The staff was fun and friendly. The service was also fast. And we had such a hard time deciding what to get because everything on the menu sounded so wonderful. We are Korean food lovers so we couldn’t resist trying the pork belly over kimchee. This was a huge portion for $ 13 and fantastic. Mounds of kimchee topped with big chunks of tender pork belly. My boyfriend then had the special for the evening which was the chirashi. Some of the best chirashi rice I’ve ever had — the seasoning was amazing. The fish was also lovely and very fresh. The highlight of the night, though, was the beef sukiyaki. The broth was out of this world — sweet and savory and absolutely fantastic. It was jam packed with vegetables, beef, glass noodles and a perfectly runny egg yoke. We were so full that we couldn’t finish it all but even better that I can prolong this amazing dinner and eat some more of it tomorrow!

I love that intimacy of the space and staff. As I waited for my party, I was greeted by one of the servers who was generous enough with her time to walk me through the menu. Surprisingly, after 7pm, the small restaurant was not as packed as I would expect. You know what that means… no wait time for my dinner to arrive after ordering. I have never had Japanese cuisine so I was nervous and excited at the same time. I knew one thing, no raw food so no sushi. Thanks to the Unilocal app, I was able to try edamame(a dish of green soybeans boiled or steamed in their pods) for free. SCORE! It was a bit odd since I was totally lost and actually ate the soybeans and the pod. Ick! Tip: only eat the soybeans and set aside the pods. They’re not delectable, trust me. For dinner, I ordered the gluten free korean fried chicken wings with chipotle molassas. Best of the two choices, I think. The other option, ginger soy glaze, was a bit underwhelming. My drink was a refreshing brown sugar iced tea concoction. It was different, but eventually grew on me.

So not a ramen joint really but more just a sweet spot to grab some great Japanese inspired dishes. The server was wonderful! Answered all my friend’s questions about the dishes and had some great drink recommendations! He gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted without making us feel rushed. I wasn’t in love with their Signature Kinjo Ramen but it was a nice light broth with good pieces of pork. Really enjoyed the soft egg. My friend really enjoyed the brussel sprouts, again it didn’t blow my mind but they were good. Having said that, the chirashi was amazing! Fresh and delicious with some great flavors! Loved every bite of it! The atmosphere is a bit romantic with low lighting and bench seating. I think it’s actually a cute date spot. Easy to get to as the C train practically stops right outside.
