Mandee

Service is sometimes horrible, they definatley need to hire more people/​cashiers. I have been coming here for a few years so i know what to expect. Decent sales

**May 2012 Challenge**
I know– 85% of the clothes here are cheap looking and are slanted toward the teen to early 20s demographic. Also, they sell Sammi Sweetheart from the Jersey Shore’s perfume here, so that probably makes you want to avoid this place at all costs. However, you can really find some nice pieces if you look hard enough.
For example, I found this awesome woven mini skirt with a black, white, teal, and orange pattern that I’ve pulled off wearing to work. (I work in a corporate environment, but they are a bit more lax with women as long as you look nice.) I pair it with either a black or white top, and a black cardigan. I’ve gotten a surprising amount of compliments from it. Price? $ 25. You can also get current styles, like bright/​bold colored skinny jeans for no more than $ 30, probably a lot better deal than at the Gap or J. Crew. They also sell items by brands like Nine West and Ed Hardy, at steeply discounted prices.
Add in cheap, basic camisoles I can wear with my suits, fun graphic tees, and good sales on already low prices, and the promise to myself to not buy any new clothes is out the window.

Mandee is definitely tailored to middle and high school kids, but if you’re looking for something in specific and you know they might have it– it could make your day.
At the Mandee on 14^th street and 5^th/​6^th in Manhattan (which I can’t find on Unilocal– it’s new-​ish) I found a pair of wonderful skinny jeans with ankle zippers. I have long chickeny legs and skinny jeans tend to make me look stupid. I still look stupid, but it’s not because of my jeans… and for $ 29, that’s saying something. :)

I like this store, its funky and trendy. There is a new location that opened up on 14^th street around 5^th Ave and I like that one better…

Maybe mandees in differen’t locations are better but, at this perticular madees the help is horible, i asked a sales women what size a jacket was because i could not see the size marked on the lable, and all she did was look at the lable and go back to talking to her other co-​worker, she didn’t even say anything, she basickly ignored me. As for the clothes, there alright, certainly not great, a lot of things are overpriced that shouldn’t be. Maybe if your thinking about going to that perticular mandees you should grab a map and find another one.

This is an ok store to poke around in. It’s basically like a Wet Seal, except they also sell name brands (XOXO, Converse, Kitson shoes, Puma, etc).
The clothes are cheap (and so is the quality) but you might find a top that you like. They also have PJs, underwear, dog clothes, glittery make-​up, flavored lip glosses, and magazines. As the previous reviewer said, it’s really for the Jr. High set — it’s basically Wet Seal meets Claire’s.

Decent prices, decent selection, but most of the stuff here is pretty young/​trendy/​cheesy. like things junior highschool or highschool kids be rockin’. it’s not so college/​adult like fashion. well, that’s my opinion. it’s not as great as Rainbow… but you can find a few cute things in there. especially shoes and underwear.
