Okay let me start by saying that this was the worst experience that I’ve ever received at a bar. I was invited by a few coworkers to join for drinks and to watch the game, and since I always seem to decline I had finally decided to tag along. So after work work I eventually met up with coworkers that were already there… not sure about what or what didn’t happened before I got into to the bar but regardless, it had nothing to do with me. So initially, my coworker decided to buy a round of drinks… he comes back to tell us that the female bartender threw his change at him(so he tips her $ 2, because who else in their right mind is going to tip a server who throws money at you… I KNOW I WOULDN’T)… my other coworker tries to buy a drink and he comes back to say how she literally cursed him out«f*** your money, f*** your group…» etc. Still in disbelief, I decided to buy a drink because I figured they were exaggerating. My experience goes as follows: I ask the female bartender for a Corona. she starts by saying«I’m not serving you or your group, so ‘A’: Where’s your ID?!» . [This is the first time I’ve ever spoken, let alone met the woman… and she gave me attitude. wait… REFUSED to serve a customer she has NEVER met. Let me remind you again… THISISTHEFIRSTTIME I’VEEVERBEENINTHISBAR and she refused my service]. Anyways. I said ‘Ok let me get my ID”, because I figured she was just trying to give me a hard time. I give her my ID and a $ 20, she snatches both, gives me my change from my $ 20 bill… yet NEVER serves me my drink. which is literally RIGHTBEHINDHER. I watch as she continues to serve 2 – 3 customers after me. so I wait. The male bartender then comes up to me, ask me what i was waiting for(& i thank him for being so pleasant). He serves me my drink and I ask him«I just want to know why she doesn’t want to serve my group». A split second later, she rampaged over and starts yelling and whining about why I’m complaining to the male bartender and starts to go off about how she’s not serving me or my group. At this point she is literally YELLING at me… I still can’t tell you why!!! She’s just going on and on about how she refuses to serve me or my group but never gives me a reason… So I’m asking«Why are you yelling? I’m talking to you politely.», she then proceeds to say«why are you still here, take your drink and go!!», add a few curse words and commands to get out and you get the picture. As we’re going back and forth, I’m trying to get the point across that all I wanted to do was buy a drink and how does that have anything to do with«my group». At the end of the day I’m a customer, a new one at that, and I refuse to be disrespected by this lady. I will NEVER know why she was mad. Anyways, I was so aggravated and fed up with her service that I threw my tip cash at her. I literally threw bills at her head so she would shut-up.(Still asking myself why I even left a tip, but it’s whatever at this point, right?) She then told me to leave the bar. But of course I didn’t lol, because I didn’t care about what this lady had to say to me anymore. She was so rude… maybe I could understand if I’ve done something prior to get her angry, but I had said 2 words and she decided that my money, service, and friends weren’t welcomed. Any person that walked in, and said hi or sat with my group was refused service or experienced poor service. Anyways… first and last experience at this bar. Other than the worst customer service experience ever in history, there’s nothing special about the bar. Take your money elsewhere.

Really like the layout and chill vibe of this bar. It’s a bit of a trek from the train, but it’s a really great spot as it includes my three favorite things in a bar: skeeball, a 90s Jukebox and ample seating. 4⁄5 stars because I hate that NY Skee Ball is $ 1 per game(it should be $ 0.25!!) and because there are ONLY two machines. Otherwise chill spot.

No. Thank. You. I went last night with some friends and ordered a beer. I remembered that this place is cash only(lame) and when I paid for my $ 6 beer I realized I only had $ 6 in my wallet. I hand her the $ 6 and the following conversation ensues: Bartender: you know it’s 6 dollars right? Me: yeah, I– Bartender: with tip it’s 7 dollars Me: I’m sorry, all I have is 6 dollars and the bar is cash only… Bartender: when you’re going out drinking you should have enough money to tip your bartender. I count out a dollar’s worth of change and hand it to her and she says«I don’t want this.» …

How have I never reviewed Roebling? An unfortunate oversight. I’ve gone to Roebling many times over the last few years, and have always enjoyed it. No matter if I’m there for happy hour, or on the weekend, I’ve always been able to find a spot as a party of two or 5 – 6, which makes it the perfect spot to have an impromptu gathering with a group of friends. It’s just far enough from the nearest subways to make it a little inconvenient for those that don’t live nearby, but that’s fine with me, I live close enough!

Relaxing sports bar that has all kinds of places to sit and chat. They have darts, skeeball, and Trivia twice a month!

This bar reminds me of what an «English-style pub» would be like at the Mall of America Food Court. Add to that the rude service by a snotty and unattractively pretentious crew… Well, this isn’t a dive bar. It’s a theme bar badly executed. If you want a real dive bar experience, go to Montero’s. At least you won’t have to listen to the Bartender’s latest audition story. «I’m sorry you didn’t get the job, but could you please take a moment and get me a beer? For realz

Pretty chill, laid-back, semi-dive bar in Brooklyn. We came here pretty late last Thursday after dinner/drinks for a colleague’s birthday at the Long Island Bar. There was only one bartender working, but he was very attentive and provided great service. There were a bunch of us, so we had a mix of everything. There weren’t that many people at the bar, so we pretty much ran skeeball and darts. I enjoy playing games at bars, as you don’t find it at that many bars in the city. Just a chill neighborhood bar — we all need to have one.

Nasty and rude bartender. You have a Captain Lawrence neon in the window so don’t cop me an attitude for asking which CL beer you have. Then when I ask which Brooklyn varieties you have you get snippy again and make more rude comments. Have fun in your lame bar, there are plenty of other good bars in the neighborhood with much friendlier staff.

Happen to be in the neighborhood and stopped by to check it out. The prices are really cheap. It just so happened I can by during trivia night and I had a good time even though my team lost horribly.

Good beers – a solid B to B+. They keep it local here and they’re definitely not doing anything new, but it feels friendly and comfortable. There’s sports on the TVs, and if you’re a Liverpool FC fan you’ll be happy here, according to the signage I saw on the walls. I like the little window couches and ottomans(I’m a sucker for living room furniture outside my living room). The bartender was nice and there were neighborhood yuppies everywhere. One major advantage of this is its proximity to the Sunday Smorgasburg – it’s the next closest watering hole after the dive bar down the street.

I love that this bar is very close to where I work and play outdoor soccer. I hate that this bar is that close. I love that they have Angry Orchard on tap. I hate that they fill it to the brim. I love that they have a Liverpool FC scarf hanging by the bar. I hate that… actually no, I love Gerard. I love that I can play darts. I hate that they trust me with a cider in one hand and sharp pointy objects in the other.

Great neighborhood spot. It’s not too divey, but not too classy either. Somewhere in the middle. They have skeeball and darts and a jukebox. They have great bartenders and relatively cheap drinks. It’s cash only, but they have an ATM in the back.

This is my favorite bar in Brooklyn. Great atmosphere. Fresh beer on tap, fun and friendly bartenders and dogs allowed. Doesn’t get much better. Oh yeah and there’s darts and skeeball. GREATPRICES. $ 5.00 specialty beers all night long.

This is rapidly becoming my new favorite bar. Perhaps it’s just because my soccer team(the whole league, in truth) heads over here after games, and we’ve been winning as of late thanks to the skill of everyone except me. More likely, it’s because of the friendly bartenders, the great and affordable(especially on Sunday afternoon) beers on tap(Capt. Lawrence Smoked Porter, Empire’s White Aphro), the comfortable couch seating, the games available(darts, Skeeball — even if it is unnecessarily expensive), and the adorably fat bulldog that seems to live in the back. Either way, I’m all about this joint.

Relaxed multi-purpose bar with a little something for everyone. Play skeeball in the back. Read in a big leather chair. Cry into your whiskey at the bar. Share bar snacks at a table with friends. Yell obscenities at one of the multiple TVs. As if all of that wasn’t awesome enough, they’ve started a trivia night the second Monday of each month that can win you a $ 50 bar tab. And with the cheap drink prices, that’ll keep you roebling all night.(I am so sorry.)

A great neighborhood spot for meeting up with a friend or many friends, adults or adults with babies, to sit on a stool or lounge on the couch, for beers or for meat pies. Really they have it all!

Roebling Inn is a great little gem on Atlantic Avenue with a rock-solid(and reasonably priced) beer selection. The interior is well laid-out, with plenty of places to sit, and as others have stated, not too bright, too dark, or too loud. Whether slow or busy, you’ll feel comfortable sitting amongst friends, grazing by the bar, or playing some cricket in the back. Bartenders are nice here(maybe Paul L. did indeed come on a bad night). One night(albeit, a slow Wednesday night), we actually went in after a late volleyball game just to watch sports and drink waters, and the bartender was more than accommodating. Of course, we tipped him a few bucks, but aside from that, we were complete freeloaders for a good hour-plus!
