This place was a very dope find in Williamsburg. The ambiance of this place was really nice. The DJ played an array of classic party songs from the 70s 80s 90s 00s and Today. Everything just flowed nicely. Drinks was reasonably priced. And the speciality cocktails were amazing. The downstairs area was perfect space to party in. Definitely will comeback. Next time I’m in the area. Great Berry Street winter spot!

Came in on Saturday afternoon for drinks. Tried their signature cocktails Happy People and King’s ransom — they were good, although fairly small for $ 14 each. Although they have a happy hour on week nights and Sundays. Food options are very limited and very hipster — nothing seemed enticing at all so we left hungry. It got pretty busy around 3pm too.

Just threw a wedding at The Counting Room this weekend. Ruth, the owner, was the most helpful, easy going, wonderful person to work with and made our whole day run smoothly. My husband and I picked this place because the drinks and apps are top notch, but we could have never imagined that our day would have been as spectacular as it was. Absolutely floored by everything. Thank you Ruth and everyone from The Counting Room.

We visited the Counting Room for the second half of a 30th birthday celebration. It’s a pretty large bar space, which makes it great for larger groups. They have lots of trendy looking high end picnic tables(for lack of a better description) that give a cool feel to the space. Lots of windows that you can check out all the comings and goings on the street as well. There’s an upstairs and downstairs space(we didn’t make it downstairs so I can’t speak to that). We had to wait in a short line to get in(maybe 5 minutes) around 9:30/10 pm on a Saturday night. The bartenders were friendly and efficient in getting people drinks even though it was busy. It’s on a strip with a couple other bars that you could bounce between if that’s the sort of night you’re looking for!

Stopped here for a couple of drinks on a Saturday afternoon and found it very good. Nice décor, great cocktails. A solid choice when you’re wandering around Williamsburg.

This place was awesome ! Some Friends and I stumbled passed it walking to another bar and heard great music so we went into try it out and ended up staying there the whole night. Great DJ, awesome drinks… The atmosphere was chilled out. If you want to dance go downstairs to the cellar room for dance floor or if you preferred to sit at a table and lounge the main level is perfect. I definitely intend to go back and show my other friends!

Still great bartenders and staff and one of the worst dj’s I’ve heard. At least there’s not a cover. See for your self. 30 second changes all night. No way you can dance or even sit and enjoy.

Been here twice. Great place to get cocktails and bring a date or just chill with some friends. Bartender was good for this kind of service. Then, at night(went on Friday) the lower level turns into a dance area. It can get hot/crowded, but wasn’t too crowded the second time I went. Bartender in the lower level is always busy making cocktails and seemed preoccupied talking with his friends, so would go to upper level if you are having trouble getting a drink.

Every time I go, the place is empty; which adds a layer of discomfort to the place. Add 25 more people and the place would have a great atmosphere. This is my official place to go play spades and drink whiskey with friends when there’s a blizzard out. I’m a fan.

Was wandering around Williamsburg with a friend and happened upon this place. Delicious drinks. Amazingly nice bartender. Nice ambience and a great playlist going. If you’re looking for a chill place to have a drink and catch up with a friend this is a great option. *Note that this was on a weekday. Will be coming back for sure, maybe will check out the weekend vibe.

Rough nite for the the counting room. Poor service and the manager… do yourself a favor and bowl at the Gutter over this bs.

I used to love this bar. They have great drinks and awesome dance floor downstairs. I tried to go this evening and there was no line to get in but the bouncer denied me and my friends because he said his manager told him not to let us in. We saw some friends on the corner who had been drinking at another bar and were honestly a little rowdy. However, we’d only had a couple drinks and were looking to go to The Counting Room to have a fun Saturday night. Disappointed that this bar decided not to let us in based off of some people on the street who drank too much that we happened to know. I don’t think we’ll be coming back any time soon.

Great beer selection and atmosphere. Excellent music on the playlist too. Definitely a young crowd and a nice indoor/outdoor setup that’s great for summertime drinking.

Cool bar in Williamsburg with a rustic and casual vibe. The only have 3 $ 7 beers on tap but a bunch of bottles/cans. The bartender was friendly and inviting. Great place to grab a drink with a friend or on a date. Limited food menu.

Super cool spot, beautiful décor and layout inside. High ceilings, huge windows, long bar, exposed brick… gotta love it. We came on a Saturday afternoon on a beautiful Spring day after wandering around and noticing how packed Radegast and Berry Park both were. The Counting Room was an excellent alternative! Attentive service, great beers and cocktails. We were lucky enough to snag a table in the middle for the 6 of us which was great. There’s also a downstairs area but I think since we came in the afternoon, it probably wasn’t open yet. Seems fun though. Like I said, truly a great bar. Big fan and will be coming back for sure.

Good beers, attractive space. We dropped in after Brooklyn Bowl for a nightcap and it was still alive, but not overwhelmingly so. There was a dance party going on in the downstairs basement and half of us proceeded there(I was in the other half). Seems like a pretty chill place on this busy bar row along Berry Street. I would definitely return to explore it some more. It’s next to Whiskey Brooklyn, which was much more of a hot mess than this place.

I’m not sure if we came on a bad night but… WORSTDRINKS I have ever had in my life. The only reason I’m giving them two stars is because the music playlist was good. The drinks are so bad that I’m currently out drinking with my friends on my third awful drink and must stop to write a review. Out of the 10 drinks we had we were able to tolerate one of them. Yuck. I guess they’re trying to clear the place out. Ordered: Sex on the beach, amaretto sour, happy people(best), Salt and Ash, The Willows, Beyond Earth(trash).

Yo, real talk, the drinks taste like my ex girlfriend’s cooking. I almost died once. So, unless you trying to leave with everything, but drunk, don’t bother. The music was definitely poppin’. Shout outs the DJ/Cook.

Very solid choice for a fun night out in Williamsburg. They have a good variety of drinks and make good use of a smaller-than-average space to maintain a dark, cool vibe. The DJ had a great selection of tracks(e.g., trap, 2000’s/90’s hip-hop), but man this guy could not transition. The tracks came abruptly after each other with no sense of flow, which to me is a sign of poor DJ’ing. Otherwise, it was a good time had by all, and certainly a place I’d return to for drinks and dancing.

Stopped by back in December on the way to the L. Needed a little bite before heading to a show and the food truck at the brewery wasn’t going to cut it. The vibe is quiet and intimate but still works for a group if you arrive early enough. Not long after our party of five arrived the place was packed to the gills. We sat street level at one of the communal tables and found the waitstaff to be quick and attentive without being overbearing. We had beer(3 people) and soda, a warm bag of croutons(the name was the most discussed topic… is the modifier correctly placed? Would bag of warm croutons work better?) and the goat cheese/olive tapenade offering. Everything was flavorful, perfectly salted and finished. While it got loud as the evening wore on it was the right kind of loud. Definitely a go to bar if you find yourself living or visiting this particular hood.
