Watched game 5 of the 2016NBA finals there last night. The bartender was playing the absolute worst music. I’m talking white boy college rap, the occasional ska cover of a classic funk song, and awkward covers of Lauren Hill songs? It was brutal. But good vibes and energy in the place itself. Great backyard. The frozen drinks are pretty tasty. That music though… too loud and just awful.

Great place! Inside is nice and outdoor is perfectly set up! Not a lot of drink options & the free peanuts was good to keep everyone entertained while talking away and enjoying a good time! Staff is great also!

Very nice stylish, yet authentic tiki bar. Great décor and lighting-not divey at all. For me, the drinks were just okay. I tried the Mai Tai and Blue Hawaii and thought they were good, but nothing special. The recipes seemed to incorporate a lot of artificial flavors and sweetness. The Frozen Zombie was the best drink I had-sort of like a boozy rum Orange Julius. Our bartender, Brandy, was fantastic. Great location on Smith Street. Recommended!

Zombie hut has always been one of my go to staples in Brooklyn, it never fails me. Strong drinks and you can be as loud and rowdy as you want in this place. Outdoor patio space, yea all around win. But I must say, the two things that make zombie hut amazing are the drinks and the board games. Yes, I definitely come here to play board games. Who doesn’t love a little drunk competition?! This place gets really full during peak hours so you may not be able to get a seat but theres always enough room to stand around somewhere. Let me not forget to mention that the concoctions that they make here are strong which is always a plus. If you’re looking for a good time with a group of friends or if you just want to bust ass in Connect four with a date this is the place to be!

Zombie Hut, we go way back. I’ve been drinking scorpion bowls in your backyard since I was knee-high to a duck.* Your backyard is basically my backyard, because I live in Brooklyn [so I don’t have a backyard because I don’t have millions of dollars]. Your Jenga is my Jenga. The 151 you put in the Frozen Zombie straws is my 151. I like to think of it as OUR151.** And I’m all about you from April to October, and even beyond. What I’m trying to say is that this comes from a place of love: What do you mean I can’t bring in food anymore? How can you keep me from eating in my own backyard? What in gods name are you blathering about? Look, on the surface, I understand the reasons you gave: #1: You have your own«food,» so outside food isn’t permitted. Let’s all just agree that beef jerky and frozen pot pies(your words, not mine) aren’t actually food, so we can just dismiss that out of hand. #2(the real reason): Your bartender tells me that about a month back, some filthy, disrespectful customers brought in some outside food and made a gigantic mess. That sucks. Fuck them. But you can’t hold a whole neighborhood responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals! For if you do, then shouldn’t we blame the whole neighborhood bar system? And if the whole bar system is guilty, then isn’t this an indictment of our alcohol institutions in general? I put it to you, Zombie Hut — isn’t this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but I’m not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Good day sir. But seriously though, please let us bring food in again? It just seems like a bad business decision. My friends and I are terrible drunks, and you lost a few hundred dollars on just one evening because of this policy. Also, we can smell the wings from Wing Bar in your backyard. It’s torture. For gods’ sakes, we were just trying to bring in Zeytoon’s who, if you didn’t know, OFFERS A ZOMBIEHUTDISCOUNT. C’mon. Pretty please. ___________ *Don’t worry, I wasn’t underage. I’m just not that tall. **Although, no milk will ever be our milk.

When I really, really like a bar, my go-to remark to my wife is: «I should have my birthday here!» There are probably a dozen bars in New York that have passed this bar(pun intended). Zombie Hut has the distinct honor of being a place where I actually celebrated my birthday last year. I didn’t just talk the talk, I walked the walk for Zombie Hut. Of course, I’ve also celebrated many half birthdays, 50⁄73 birthdays, and other momentous occasions at Zombie Hut. Please, even if you’re not into fruity frozen drinks, try the frozen zombie — it’s sweet(perfect for birthdays and all other days), but not sweet sweet, and packs a real punch. Because you can move between the backyard, the semi-enclosed back patio, and the inside bar, it’s a great place to spend the afternoon or entertain a crowd of friends.

ATMOSPHERE: I LOVE Zombie Hut! Tons of little tiki-themed decorations, with a nice back room and outdoor patio as well for drinks outside in the summertime. Place is in a bar hotspot so expect it to be pretty packed on the weekends. DRINKS: Drinks are SO much fun. The zombie bowl is a little dangerous, as is any bowled drink. We split it among 3 people, but you can definitely share with more. Just not less, unless you want to be carried home. If you’re feeling skinny, they have a «skinny piña colada» which is tasty and coconut-like, but it isn’t blended, so don’t expect for it to be exactly the same. Drinks are all themed and really delicious, but be prepared for a good buzz. GAMES: This is one of my favorite things about ZH. They have SO many board games to pick from. My friend and I came once and played chess while sipping on our zombies, and it was really fantastical. OVERALL: I have been here a few times, and most certainly will be back again.

My newfound obsession for the Spring/Summer! Cheap drinks, super strong and a nice dimly lit and chill ambiance which makes the ideal setting for a solid afternoon of day drinking. Stopped by this past Sunday around 4 and within an hour of arriving the bar filled up pretty quickly. Had a pretty good buzz after a Frozen Zombie and Suffering Bastard, and for $ 18 I call that a pretty good bargain. Already making plans to return this Sunday for pre-gaming festivities in advance of The Walking Dead Season Finale.

Came here for a night out a few months ago with a mid sized group. The place is pretty small if the outdoor space isn’t usable. There’s a pretty eclectic crowd there from my experience but an overall fun atmosphere. The drinks are strong, veeeery strong but super delicious. They’re fruity & sweet & along with the décor makes you feel like you’re in Hawaii for a night which is especially fantastic on a rainy winter night. Check this place out if you’re looking for something different & you need a stiff drink. You won’t be disappointed

I love tiki bars. That’s pretty much all I’ve got to say. The summer is better than the winter, but still a great time. Little cramped but what NYC bar isn’t.

Zombie Hut is sort of a neighborhood staple located conveniently within the bustling blocks of Smith Street. It’s your typical bar with a good cocktail list to suit a range of tastes. I particularly favor this spot in the summer months due to their ample patio space where there’s plenty of seating available to take in the sounds of Brooklyn. They also have board games available; Drunken Jenga anyone? The drink I recommend is called the«Scorpion Bowl» which combines brandy, rum and a few other liquids for the ultimate party drink. It’s perfect for a group of 2 – 3. I think it works out to about 4 – 5 drinks total.

Very chill bar! Come as you are type of feel. Very casual attire, but it is a small place that gets crowded quickly. You’ll end up finding a spot in the corner and sticking there to avoid blocking the people walking to the bathroom and back. I had the Zombie Bowl, and a Long Island Iced tea. I shared the Zombie Bowl with the person I was with, and it still managed to get me drunk. I never been so drunk in my whole entire life. The plan was to go out for a few drinks, but it was never ever to get drunk. I never knew the TRUE definition of «Turn Up», or «Shit Faced Wasted» until I experienced the Zombie Bowl. Overall I will return when I’m in the area and I want a lite drink. Hence the word«lite»… Zombie Bowl stay away from me

After all these years still one of my favorite bars to go to. I’ve had countless good times in here and dates always love this place. I’ve tried every one of their specialty drinks. Can’t go wrong with a frozen zombie on a warm night. Two of my other favorites are the Singapore sling and the suffering bastard. Drink those fast enough and you’ll be slumped in no time. Outdoor seating is great on a nice night. Pick up a board game, loser takes shots. Bartenders are always friendly and don’t mind chatting it up even if it’s a brief convo on a busy night. Never had any type of problem. Every time I’ve been here the crowd has been super chill. Very easy to meet new people here. Like last night my date buying shots for the girl across the bar who just turned 21. It was just us in there at the time but we all had a blast getting blasted lol.

Great little place! Visited this venue for my birthday on a Friday night! It was PACKED! Apparently if it is your birthday you get to hit the large Gong on the wall! I was disappointed when I wasn’t allowed to do so because the bartender said«it was too packed!». Boooooo! They have a great selection of beer including my favorite, hard to find Rogue Hazelnut!(if you like beer and have not yet tried Rogue you better get to it!) This bar boasts a large fruity drink meant to be shared between 2 – 3 people! It is VERY sweet! I would like to revisit this venue when it is nicer out to explore the outdoor section!

Zombie Hut is where you go when you’re feeling… *funky.* The good kind of funky. As many have mentioned, this place looks like a Tiki bar got lost in a Day Of the Dead parade and woke up in the lighting department of a Christmas store. They’ve got strong, cheap cocktails, board games, tons of comfy seating, and friendly bartenders. I recommend ordering their namesake cocktail — it will essentially do you in — and for under 10 bucks. Cheers to that!

This was my first time and I had a good time. When you walk in it just like a regular bar. Nothing nice or fancy. The have a selection of beers but the draw for me were the cocktails. The cocktail menu contains around 15 choices and I set out to try a few. Bartenders were friendly and ready to serve. The drinks were really good, had a kick and inexpensive. We got 6 cocktails and the total was $ 39. You can’t beat that. There isn’t wait staff so you come in, find your spot and get your drinks at the bar. If the weather is nice there is a nice sized outdoor area. The tiki theme is really shown there. There is a selection of games you can choose from to play with your drinking buddies such as jenga and connect 4.

I’m never down in this part of BK anymore, until today when getting out of a matinée showing at CHC and wanting some 4pm beers. Zombie Hut is the great tiki dive bar of our time. Tacky decorations with a wonderful island-themed outdoor space, tropical drinks to enjoy in Brooklyn while Coldplay blasts on the sound system. It’s a great spot in that it knows not to be serious and allows you to enjoy the dive factor full force. Nice beer selection, fruity drinks hit you hard and fast, haven’t played with a scorpion bowl since I left college but this would be the place! That and a round of Connect 4, hello summer evenings!

This tiki bar is awesome and a great way to welcome the warm weather this weekend! With a name like Zombie Hut, I thought it would be horror-themed but instead it has a lively and warm ambience. + outdoor patio in the back was open + friendly bartenders + couches and small wooden tables for groups in the back + tiki-themed décor all around the wooden walls to take you away from city life + clean bathrooms + drinks were all under $ 10 each + FROZENZOMBIE cocktail was sweet with sugar on the rim and tasty yet strong + pitchers with ice-cold water and plastic cups at the end of the bar for your convenience + free board games + gotta try the Scorpion bowl and tiki shots next time! — some games missing pieces, like the dice — group tables aren’t really well-attended so sometimes the empty cans/glasses from the previous group are still there on the table but at least they have a trash can nearby

Unique name and very cool doors. Beyond that its just an average bar. The night I was there the crowd was extremely Hippish and park slopey. When being in those nieghborhoods I prefer a bit more of a mix. Will give it another try when I am in the area.
