The food is okay, in term of the portion and price for the money, I think house of prime rib is a notch better. The service is okay but not something that they would impress you. For a first timer like me, the server did not explain the menu. The service is quite spotty, the table next to me, the server take time to explain the difference vs US. He just ask, are you ready to order??? I think most of the servers in this restaurant has been working there for a while, they do have a built in perception of what kind of customer they would give good service… May I say suit and tie??? They need to hire new servers that would hungry to give good service regardless of who you are.

Party of 6 went here recently on a Saturday night. For prime rib, we had a some Select cuts and a Peninsula cut, and 2 New York steaks. As others have mentioned, the food and service were ok, but not on par with House of Prime Rib.(Easier to get into Broadway Prime with shorter notice, though.) The staff seemed rushed and short-staffed on this Saturday night.(It might have been due to a really large party seated near us, but don’t know.) We got our orders, but drink refills were long in coming, and we never got the popovers(nor were they ever mentioned). The prime rib was pretty tasty though, as were the salad(not tossed table-side) and creamed corn. Also, it can get pretty warm in the restaurant. The upstairs area, where we were seated, is strange. It looks like a large balcony area with tables. And, it’s hot up there(maybe inadequate A/C?). It’s a good meal, but not top tier.

I’ve been to Broadway Prime and it’s sister San Mateo Prime a number of times now. I have yet to go to House of Prime Rib in San Francisco, but I have nothing to complain about here. Food — 4.5. The prime rib here is delicious. Tender, juicy, and delectable I love it. It’s decently priced, and it’s quite a bit of food. You get your choice of two sides plus a popover and its around $ 40 – 50 per person. It may not be the best prime rib you’ve ever had but it’s certainly worth your money. Décor — 4. The interior is cozy. It’s not the fine dining establishment you would expect of a famous New York Steakhouse, but you aren’t at a New York Steakhouse. Instead, you get a warm, family friendly atmosphere, as most of the patrons here are here to celebrate one thing or another. The rich wooden interior that makes of the walls and most of the furniture makes you feel right at home as you enjoy your cut. Service — 3.5. Don’t get me wrong, the servers here are great. They’re friendly and welcoming, handle issues well, and are quite attentive. However, I’ve always felt the restaurant is a little under staffed. That’s why the service experience has never felt really consistent, and there have been times where the service was a little lacking, mostly because we had to wait for the waiter who was simply a little overwhelmed. Overall, definitely a great local steakhouse. Would recommend.

I donno. The prime rib here disappointed me yesterday. My first time was amazing which was 7 or 8 years ago, that’s why I request to cone again to celebrate. We sat upstairs, very stuffy and hot. Bread was hard and cold. The special puff that comes with the meal was not fresh and missing taste. I ordered the selected size prime rib, but it looked like small size. Ordered creamy corn as a side but never come. Prime rib itself not soft and juicy. The only thing that impressed me was the horse reddish.

I love the Broadway Cut Prime rib. It is about $ 40 and comes with a large salad, bread, a muffin, two sides, I usually go for the creamed spinach and garlic mash potato. The prime rib is the star of the show and the star of the restaurant. It is succulent, juicy, salty, sweet, fatty and meaty. I am salivating as I am writing this and can’t wait till I come back to this place! The meat shreds delicately off with a gentle flick of your fork and knife, the juice from the meat is flavorful and the meat melts in your mouth with a buttery fat smoothness that few things can ever match(think of the freshest most succulent uni melting in your mouth, but fatter and more buttery). The service is excellent and attentive. The setting is casual and slightly upscale, but t-shirts and jeans are commonly worn by customers. It is a great place for dinner with the boys or with the entire family. The restaurant was started by former House of Prime Rib folks and I think they also give out seconds if requested. I love this restaurant so much that the thought of this place ever closing down actually keeps me up at nights! Enjoy life carnivores and feast at Broadway Prime!

Summary: if House of Prime Rib and a Chinese restaurant had an offspring, you would get Broadway Prime. Pros: +food was good. I’d give it four stars here. +they were good with our reservation and seated us fairly prompt. Cons: –service experience was cold and matter-of-fact. –got portions of our order wrong. –didn’t bring out everyone’s popovers. When asked, waiter«apologized» and said he was busy. Eventually got the popovers. Overall, I thought it was supposed to be a classier experience and it just wasn’t. It’s a loud atmosphere. If you walk in knowing what you’re getting, that may be okay. The food was better than pretty good. Not excellent, but darn good. For what I’m paying though, I’ll go elsewhere.

I swear the waiters here always look angry and probably are angry. Haha I came here a couple of times with my boyfriend and based on all of those times, I am not impressed. The prime rib is sometimes tough and hard to chew through but does have a nice slight smoky flavor to it. I’d only wish that the meat was softer and more tender. The creamed spinach and creamed corn are fantastic’ Overall, the food isn’t horrible, it could just be better for the price. One thing that bugged me was the vibe that the waiters gave off. I felt uncomfortable asking for certain things because they just came off as unwelcoming. Maybe he was having a bad day? Or everyday? Despite of this, I will probably be back because of the limited number of restaurants that serve GOOD prime rib. Yes, house of prime rib is much better but this is a good alternative for if house of prime rib is packed(it always is).

House of Prime Rib is 294729481948283728x better! I’ve been here a few times but I always feel like something’s missing or maybe I’ve just been spoiled by House of Prime Rib. This time, it was a celebration for my mom’s bday with my aunt and cousins! We got to Broadway Prime about 5 – 10 minutes after our reservation but my aunt and cousins were already seated. The bread they give wasn’t hot or warm! It wasn’t cold either but the fact that the butter doesn’t slowly melt is disappointing. I got the Select Cut and when it came out, it was in between warm and cold. The spinach was probably the best part. BUT, my prime rib had more fat than meat on it and who wants to eat mostly fat when they come to eat prime rib? Lastly, the bacon bits were a disappointment! They are crushed to super small pieces like when you crush Cheerios. That is not how I like to eat my baked potatoes with. All in all, it was not bad. The service was great but I just don’t think the food is all that great.

Having already checked out San Mateo Prime, it was nice to be able to compare the two. San Mateo location seems more upscale in the ambiance department. This location looks dead on like an English Pub, more casual/informal. The food/menu hower is more the same than different. Their menu is very concise. You get to pick between a grilled NY Strip or a roast Prime Rib. You also get to pick between several different portion cuts depending on what you feel you can devour. Then you pick between 3 potato options and 2 creamed vegetable options. That’s it. Take it or leave it. We’ve only had Prime Rib at this location. The PR is legit, but I don’t think they cook it as slow as House of Prime Rib in SF. The Select Cut is the way to go if you’re not into the fat or the crust or pieces of connective meat. It seemed like slices from the straight up «eye» part of the rib roast. So it is lean and clean. The Broadway Cut(their largest) is the whole sha-bang. Complete rib slice with bone attached. It is massive. It is proper. And I can kill this portion cuz I’m a beast like that. It is not for the timid, nor casual red meat eater. At $ 45 this is a good deal that will squash any legit red meat craving. Ideal for special occasions… like a post meal after golf whilst playing hookie from work. The accompanying salad is decent but strange. It is pinkish, maybe Russian Dressing, which is like 1000 island, just minus the relish. It has ice burg lettuce, shredded beets and fine chopped hard boiled egg. Don’t get me wrong, it was fine for me. I just thought of those ingredients as strange for a salad given to every patron. As I know many who either don’t care for beets, hard boil eggs or both. But trust me, salad is a welcoming site at these meat halls. Creamed Spinach pretty old school. Pop Overs very proper here, very airy. Mashed potato didn’t look that appealing, looked over cooked or been in a steam table too long. Baked Potato was decent but they topped it with salad bar bacon bits. Strange again. Usually it is not topped with bacon unless asked. I had to scrape it off. Their Au Jus is pretty good and their meat is seasoned decently. Their horseradish is straight proper, they give you 2 levels of strength. For a Prime Rib outing, I’d say it is way worth it. Customer service is very generous. We must have walked in behind a rush or party, because they kept apologizing for the situation. There was a slight additional wait to take our order and to receive food, but nothing that was putting a thorn into our side. We were given a round of drinks without us even complaining about the situation. To that Broadway Prime, I’ll raise my glass of bourbon and cheers you to a for sure return.

If you’ve ever had HoPR and think that Broadway Prime is a good alternative, I’d say think again. Although the servings are very similar — you get a salad, a few prime rib cut options, a side of corn or spinach, your choice of potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding, the quality is the key difference. Unfortunately, the prime rib at Broadway Prime is highly inconsistent. To be fair, I’ve had decent prime rib here, but I’ve also had prime rib that was not so good. Besides the price, I don’t think Broadway Prime stacks up to HoPR in any other way including ambiance, service and quality of food. I would recommend Broadway Prime only if you’re unable to get a reservation at HoPR, otherwise, I’d suggest doing yourself a favor and make that trip into SF instead!

I came here a few years ago, and I remembered it was pretty good. I came back recently for my cousin’s birthday, and it was pretty disappointing. First off, they didn’t toss the salad in front of us. They just brought the salad out, but it wasn’t divided evenly. My salad was noticeably small compared to my sister’s, and there were barely any beets, while hers had a lot. I had the Broadway Cut, medium rare. I got sides of garlic mashed potatoes, creamed corn, and creamed spinach. The steak was decent, but the sauce was whatever. The spinach and corn didn’t really taste creamed. The garlic mashed potatoes was pretty good. The yorkshire pudding was alright too. I think the reason why I didn’t like this place was because of the service. Our waiter didn’t really smile, and didn’t really greet us. He just came up to the table abruptly asking what we wanted to drink. Maybe it was because I had HOPR recently too, I compared everything to there and nothing was as good. I will not be coming back here again…

Some of my friends and I, when we get together tend to aim towards a few favorite restaurants — but this week we went to a new place. Broadway Prime had been one on my list for a while to try as I havIMG_9750e been a huge fan of House of Prime Rib in San Francisco — so when one of us decided to pick Prime as the goto for a group birthday celebration, I was excited. An easy drive south of San Francisco, located in a cute village like setting — it was easy to both find and park. With more than half of the group arrived –they seated us pretty fast up on the second level.(we weren’t happy they they had broken out group up into two tables which wasn’t what the host had asked for — but the only response provided was that we would have had to wait until the the other party ended) — not the nicest customer service(but I wasn’t the host so I didn’t say anything). Now here is where the evening started to take a turn. With another large group up there and several smaller tables of 4, it looked like only one server was assigned. So it was well over 20 min before our drink orders were taken, then at least another 15 min for the food order. Luckily we were chatted and catching up and only a few side comments surfaced as to «gosh it was taking a while to get service». Once the orders were placed, the meal came out pretty well timed after the salad course. Ok so– the Strengths! The meats was great. At our table we had several different cuts, including one end cut, and everyone agr eed they were moist, tender and had good flavor. The Baked potatoes were nicely steamy and melty good — always a treat when getting ready to toss some calories away. The Opportunities: Not all the plates arrived with hot food. Several of the meats were barely warm(including mine and I had the end cut) so that was a disappointment. The sides were on the bland side — both the creamed spinach and corn were lacking any«wow». The spinach actually was almost pasty and lacked much in the way of seasoning at all.(maybe some nutmeg would have helped?) even salt and pepper at the table didn’t do much and again they weren’t particularly hot either. We figured that they may have been hit with a rush, understaffed, or maybe the kitchen got slammed — but even the pop-overs which were good didn’t get to the table until well after we had started eating. I couldn’t see any bus-persons assisting and it felt as it we had one server to divide between the two large groups. Overall — I would try the resturant again with a smaller group or a few couples when in the area. But not sure I would make it a destination again as a «must go to».

Been coming here for like the past 10 years. My family really enjoys it because it’s good for kids and big parties. The servers are friendly and know how to make people feel welcome. Portion size is great, and the small menu makes choosing your dinner super easy. Not really looking for a variety anyways because the main reason I come here is for prime rib. first course: salad — the house salad is pretty good. I’m not a big fan of beets, so i usually take them out, but the dressing is something unique that i enjoy. quite sweet although it’s mainly beets and romaine lettuce. sides: you will always be able to choose your type of potatoe and veggies. potatoe: I usually go for the roasted garlic mash or baked potatoe. Baked potatoe today was actually kind of bland even though I got every thing with but hey ask for extra toppings. veggies: I like to have my veggies sautéed. No a big fan of creamed spinach or corn so I like to go on the lighter side. Glad they’re able to accommodate. They used to put too much pepper in their spinach but today was great! prime rib: their prime rib is not bad. nice an tender and juicy but a bit bland. I’m happy as long as I don’t have to chew until my jaw is tired. Also, if you’re debating between the select cut or broadway cut, if you ask for the bone in on the select cut, they’ll try to accommodate for you. all in all a good restaurant. although not stunning. I come here because their food is consistent. also my parents are a fan.

1 year later … Swung by with reservations for Broadway Prime, thanks to the boyfriend, and even then there was a slight wait. Nothing noticeable especially since we had friends coming around the same time, too, and wanted to try to be seated near each other. Everyone at Broadway Prime did their best to accommodate our unreasonably last minute request with the seating arrangement and everything worked out for the best. We ended up with a table together, someone else got seated earlier because we gave up our original table. Our original-original table was a little wobbly and we asked for a coaster or something to put under but everyone here went above and beyond with customer service and moved us instead. We didn’t have any issues with our table and didn’t mind staying but they insisted we did for our comfort. We ended up giving away that table, though, and I felt bad but we didn’t know our friend’s reservation slot was so close to ours :( Again, I didn’t order for myself so let’s see what I can do here. I believe the cut I always end up getting is the Broadway Cut. Super thick yet juicy thanks to the sliver of fat that runs through it. It’s never too much fat which always makes me super excited. Don’t you hate it when you go out ordering a slice of meat and there’s … no meat? Alongside my meal, due to my lactose intolerance, would be a baked potato with no sourcream(only chives & bacon. and bacon. and bacon), and STEAMEDSPINACH. Yes, it’s an option for us lactose intolerant folks. My prime rib was cooked rare and placed on a cold plate, I believe. You would not believe how incredibly juicy it was with a little mixture of their mild and hot horseradish to taste. It’s really all you need. If you want some 5 star dining service, come here. It’s never anything short of that. If you want good food made to your preference, come here. It’s never anything less of that!

Ended up all the way in Burlingame to eat here for a friend’s birthday. Though we had reservations, we still had to wait until everyone was there until they could seat us. Walking in, it’s not as big as I thought it would be for a prime rib restaurant. Everything felt old. We were led to our table upstairs. The restaurant was white and brown. The walls looked dirty. The restaurant itself looked like a house that they turned into a restaurant. Looking around, I realized that it was Asian owned but it catered to Americans. Despite my initial impressions, I made the most of it. I ordered the peninsula cut, medium rare, with creamed spinach, and a baked potato. Everything looked good. My prime rib cut was the right amount for me. I had a lot of fatty pieces, but that’s to be expected from prime rib. The server messed up and gave me creamed corn instead of creamed spinach, but he was apologetic and gave me a side of creamed spinach too. I’ve never had a popover before. It was good. The baked potato was nicely cooked. The creamed spinach and creamed corn were ok. The meal itself was fine. It just didn’t wow me for a prime rib restaurant. The server messed up on my boyfriend and his brother’s order. My boyfriend ordered medium rare but he ended up with medium. And for his brother, he ordered the select cut, but they gave him the broadway cut. We didn’t want to make a big deal of it so we just went with it. We were able to order seconds, and they just took those to go. Lastly, we had ordered a prime rib to go for my boyfriend’s other brother. His brother recooked the prime rib at home before eating it but somehow still ended up with food poisoning. I’m not sure if it was the food but he got sick right after eating it. Our server though was a champ. We had multiple request for shots almost every time he came back to our table. And I think he was a lil bit confused when we sang happy birthday to our friend because everyone was off key and sounded like fobs. But he did the best that he could considering how busy the restaurant was. The cleanliness of the restaurant didn’t impress me. The plus side is that parking wasn’t a pain. I was able to find parking down the street. Other than that, I’m not sure if I would come back. Nothing really stood out to me.

Oh man, I had been building up my appetite for prime rib throughout the day, and the wait paid off. I didn’t realize that Broadway Prime was related to HOPR but I kinda like the service at Broadway Prime better. The waiters were much more interactive with our large group and made the experience fun. As with other prime rib places, make sure to reserve a table ahead of time. The walkways of this restaurant are more intricate and narrow, but I like the sectioned-off layout because it makes group dinners seem more intimate. I had already planned on getting the smallest slab of prime rib because my appetite is not that big, but I think they ended up giving me a medium-sized piece… I’m not complaining. Honestly the prime rib and mashed potatoes are always the only things I enjoy about prime rib places. At Broadway Prime, I feel like the creamed spinach and popovers could have been better. Overall our group enjoyed dinner… I mean obviously we’ll be back.

11.14.15 etc. Consistently a great experience. You know what to expect. You know what you’re getting. It’s all really good food. The service is always superb. The wait staff always makes me feel special, no matter who I was with or how large my party was. My order is always the same. Why mess with a good thing? House salad, Select cut. Popover. Half half of the corn and spinach. Garlic mashed potatoes. Bottle of house red. For what you’re getting, this is an amazing deal. Total damage for two: $ 132

Found our way to Broadway Prime after we were left hungry and waiting by another nearby Burlingame Restaurant. Given that we were walk ins, a wait of 20 minutes wasn’t terrible. Menu is short. Just expect meat. And a good heavy portion of it. Ordered the Broadway Cut Prime Rib — Medium Rare. The cut was so succulent and tender. I definitely cut and dissected every morsel of meat on that bone. The dry rub crisp edges were also delicious! However, the sides left a little to be desired. The garlic mash and creamed corn were really nothing special… but the popover was amazing! If you like bread pudding, this is perfect! It was delivered piping hot and had this eggy, creamy consistency that just asked to be eaten right up! You can be certain I’ll be back!!!

What the fark?! Tried giving this place a chance again. Why would I expect it to get better? This used to be a consistent restaurant in the peninsula for a nice meal. Could my experience get worse? Unfortunately…yes. Just take my word for it… this place isn’t worth patronizing anymore. They don’t care because they’re always busy but if you read on if you’re really interested in seeing how bad this place is now. Food: 2 Stars Service: 1 Star Cleanliness: 2 Stars Ambiance: 2 Stars Came here for a friend’s 40th birthday and after getting seated we were given our menus. Before ordering, one of the servers came to tell us they were out of baked potatoes. Say again?! How can you be out of a side /staple like a potato? It’s 8pm on a Saturday evening and there’s a Safeway down the street… send someone down early when you see that you’re running low and buy some. It didn’t stop there. Everyone ordered their food including our b-day friend’s wife. She can’t eat red meat so ordered the fish.(I’ll come back to this later) Once the food came out, the salads were smaller than normal. I didn’t think much of it but once the food came I noticed something strange:(1) plates were not hot(2) all of our prime ribs were way way under cooked(3) all of our sides were lacking… I mean seriously lacking. Apparently they were low on everything. After everyone was served… oh wait… did i say everyone? Nope… our friend’s wife’s fish had not arrived. So we promptly asked for the fish… well guess what? They ran out of fish! Did the server bother telling her? No. Did anyone come by and ask her what she would want to substitute with? No. From there I asked for our horse radish. The server looked at us strangely and said…“didn’t it come?” Let’s see… use your eyes… there are 30 of us in total and not one plate has any horse radish on it. Could it get any worse? Of course it can. I noticed something missing despite the fact that we were all there trying to still have a good time. I asked the server when the bread pudding was coming out. The server looked at us and said«we’re out of bread pudding.» Let’s see… when were you going to tell us? Never?! All of this could have been avoided by being upfront with us when we got seated… offering us something to replace it instead. Maybe even offering us free drinks. Instead… all we got were«sorrys» after the fact. I don’t write scathing reviews often but I will NEVEREVER patronize this place again. If the owners and management doesn’t care, I don’t either. I’m happy to let everyone on Unilocal, friends and family to stay away from Broadway Prime.

I’ll make this short and sweet. Mom was craving HOPR, no reservation available. Came here as second option and was thoroughly disappointed. –Salad was flavorless and lettuce/veggies were limp. –Prime rib – I ordered the Broardway cut? or whatever is the largest, most ginormous one served with the bone. I’ll give you this, for $ 43 you get a lot of food. huge serving. BUT… the Au Ju was so meh and lacked that deep, rich, beefy flavor that you hope for. The prime rib itself was nicely cooked on certain cuts, but overall could’ve used more seasoning. It’s like biting into something, hoping it would taste one way and satisfy your craving, but end up being so sad due to its inability to fulfill that desire. –Cream spinach… i would skip and go with the corn instead. Best part of the dinner? The baked potato. I would say, save your money and just go to HOPR if you’re in norcal and Lawry’s if you’re in socal.
