This review is for our dinner last Monday, Feb 1, 2016. I’ve heard of this restaurant but never had time to check it out until last Monday, 2÷1÷16 when a friend of mine celebrated his bday. Host: We waited a bit since the hostess wasn’t around. Staff: Once we were seated, the staffs were attentive and friendly. We were asked what we wanted to drink and were give bread for starters. Ambiance: Great view of the airplanes landing. The restaurant is located inside the Marriott Hotel. You have a mixture of tourists and business folks at the restaurant. The place also has a somewhat of a romantic ambiance. Food: I’d have to say it was amazing. Starters: Jumbo Shrimp cocktail — nice and fresh Caesar salad — was served in a cylindrical shaped parmesan cheese. It had just the right amount of dressing Entrée: New York Strip — Medium Well — cooked just the way my friend liked it Free Range Roasted chicken for me — It was really moist and flavorful. Mashed potato was cooked just right and the sauce was really good Compliments of the chef: We received 2 covered chocolate strawberries. Price is a bit high but for special occasions, I would recommend this place.

This has always been my go-to place when i have a steak craving. Reasonable price Great parking. Cozy ambiance. Accessible to the airport. I never had any issues with the restaurant staff and manager.

Wow. I was very disappointed in our Christmas dinner. Our server was Kelvin. He took about 10 mins to come and introduce himself. He didn’t explain the menu to us: what the steaks came with, what the soup of the day was, what the side dishes were like, etc. We went through our whole meal without him coming to the table to check up on us. We didn’t get refills on our water until our bill came. I’m upset that we had such horrible service for the price that I paid. I understand it was Christmas, but honestly, the restaurant was not even busy. Spoke to the manager and he said he would cover dessert for us. We waited for 10 mins after we paid for our bill and no dessert came. Sorry to say that I took the cash I tipped the server bc of how madly, truly, deeply, upset I was. I used to work in food and beverage and I definitely would have handled this differently. The host Ali seemed to be the only one who knew what he was doing. Also, the gave me a broken glass cup with my water. How dangerous is that? Overall, don’t come here. Find another restaurant worth spending your money at. The hotel manager will be hearing from me.

Was not expecting to find such a great meal. Expected good but not great. Had the best wedge salad with bacon and tomatoes with their BLT salad. Thrown faced lobster ravioli dish was one of the best things I have eaten in a long time. Lobster sauce with many pieces of lobster with tomatoes, asparagus and mushrooms. Then bananas foster to top it off. Worth a visit for certain.

Don’t let the chef near the salt. I have never had such salty food in my life. A novice line cook could do better. We ordered 4 items: crab cake, filet mignon au poivre, mashed potatoes, and lobster ravioli. Total for 2 mains, an appetizer and a side dish was $ 103, came to $ 130 with tip and tax. The bread was delicious, as was the single crab cake. The mashed potatoes were bland. I don’t think they were real mashed potatoes. The filet was overcooked and dipped in salt. We scraped chunks of salt off the steak, which made it almost edible. The au poivre was bland. Not really au poivre. We didn’t send the over cooked, too salty steak back to the kitchen because we didn’t think the chef was capable on remaking it any better. The lobster ravioli could have been so good except for the lobster was frozen and the dish was way too salty. In other ingredients were good and fresh, but the texture of frozen lobster likely would have ruined it if the salt hadn’t. Way too much money for what we got, even if it wasn’t drowning in salt.

It was good but the reviews that talk about the place being slow is very true. They give you lots of time between courses. Great food. Lobster ravioli starter was a big portion. And the salads were all great. My dad got the cioppino and love it!

If time is on your side you may like this place. The service is the slowest I ever seen. The hostess is very visible walking around the restaurant but maybe if she helped out things would move faster. The steak was ribeye seasoned well however for $ 47 I expect a wider cut. The chef slightly over cooked it. I’m a medium guy. Slight pink in the middle, not cooked completely. The fries came out cold and I didn’t touch them. If I had more time I would have sent them back. However the city awaits. The waiter did his best working 4 to 5 tables. I just don’t think the staff is equipped to deal in speed. When I came here for lunch I thought it was an anomaly that they were slow. Now I know.

Very expensive for what you get. These prices are comparable to what you would pay for a high-end steak restaurant in San Francisco — not a hotel restaurant inside a Marriott on the outskirts of the airport. It took foreeeeever to get our food, and the place was ½ empty. I paid $ 42 for a rib eye which was very very fatty and overcooked(I asked for mid-rare and got medium) and comes with zero sides. If you want potatoes or vegetables you have to pay extra. The waiter was friendly. However, he told me that the Drake’s Denogginizer on the menu was a lager(at 9.7% abv) when it clearly was an IPA. We were also charged for 5 glasses of wine and had only ordered 3. Little things but at this price range($ 400 for 4 adults and two kids) things should have been spot on. Maybe would give it another try at some point, but there are so many good options in the area.

I am glad that I found a new restaurant to dine. Not easy for me. Two suggestions: 1. Get rid of that«receptionist feel table». No one wants to sit there. 2. Don’t forget to tell your customer how to use that validated parking card. I couldn’t get out and had to go back to ask.

In case you didn’t pick up on this, Hangar Steak is located inside of the Marriott. I found my way here in search of an OpenTable 1000 point table, and was not disappointed. PARKING. The entire lot is the hotel’s parking lot, but if you’re just there for dinner, they do validate for parking, so no need to fear about paying for your car. RESERVATIONS. We made them solely for the points, but I’m pretty sure you can get away without having any. The restaurant was a little less than half full on the Friday night when we went, and while the maître d’ put on a little show about making sure our table was available, there were at least 5 other identical tables available at the time. JUMBOSHRIMPCOCKTAIL. This felt like a kind of ridiculous, over-priced dish. You get 3 jumbo shrimp, to be fair, but 3 felt like a very odd(and small number). The dish itself was good, but for the price($ 17), it felt like a fancy rip-off. CALIFORNIAARTISANCHEESEPLATTER. The presentation was actually quite nice — the cheeses are surrounded by grilled croutons, wildflower honey comb, quince, and jalapeño soaked grapes(which were weird, to be honest). You get to choose the 3 cheese that accompany your platter, and while the ones I chosen weren’t sliced generously, we weren’t wanting for more at the end of the meal. Overall, if you’re staying at the Marriott and don’t want to deal with the hassle of renting a car or getting a taxi to go into Burlingame, this isn’t a bad choice to eat at, but it is over-priced, and the restaurant itself is a little dark and gloomy. Not a place I’d return to, but not a bad place, either.

Hanger steak. Destination place or if you are in the hotel. Casual to fancy dining. We came here for a birthday dinner for two. We had reservations for two. Window seat. Elegant hostess seated up promptly. Or waiter Kelvin was so nice . Food was served with flair. The only thing I didn’t like was that the kitchen was in back. I am so use to having an open kitchen. Food looked delicious. It was as good as it looked. I had the roasted chicken. It was juicy and the sauce with fresh vegetables was take out the bread an wipe it up good. Dessert was over the top. I don’t know why, I had to stop. Then came out the Oreo strawberry??? Why torment me more!!! Well worth the money, cocktails next time. Destination joint. Great views, wonderful staff and good food.

The food is decent but service is terrible. I don’t know why they have issues but service here is extremely slow.

The Hangar Steakhouse located inside the SFO Marriott Waterfront Hotel boasts views of the parallel runways at SFO over looking the water. I was staying at this hotel for business and met up with an old friend who lived in SFO. Instead of going out in the windy cold winters, a balmy 54 degrees, we decided to see how«steaky» this steakhouse was. Waitress was nice, polite and prompt to meet our needs. Since my friend has gout, he had chicken and vegetables, while I of course had their most expensive steak! While my expectations for a hotel steakhouse wasn’t very high, I was surprised how juicy, tender and flavorful my cow was! I enjoyed it as much as a guy who hasn’t had a good piece of meat in a while. Very good meal, great service, means you know you’re paying for it… it’s in a Marriott!!! Great catching up with a good chum over a great meal while watching planes glide to a landing. Nice time especially since you’re on business, you don’t expect to have a good time.

We are having our Bön Voyage dinner here. Heading off to Providenciales. There was a big of a wait for service to start but once it did we had a great meal! Starting with the luscious Mushroom Brie and crime fresh soup, we were ecstatic. It was tasty, smooth, rich and with that touch of umami. The Brie had just melted and was so yummy. A split sautéed mushroom and spinach leaves adorned the edge but was a good accompaniment. Then the rack of lamb, perfectly cooked, tender and delisch. Other folks had the steaks which they loved. A bit pricey but they delivered a great dinner.

I purchased a certificate for this place to celebrate our anniversary with my husband. This restaurant had a beautiful view of the Bay and it was pretty cool to see airplanes taking off and landing at SFO just right outside the window in a distance! We ordered: — crab cake — they split the plate for us, comes with a tiny cute crab tail! — mushroom brie soup — I’m not a fan of mushrooms but LOVE brie… this was soooo delicious! — surf & turf with grilled asparagus: this was my husband’s dish, steak was very well executed, no complaints — ribeye with mushroom risotto: this was my dish, enjoyed it very much of course! — chocolate lava cake: this is becoming a default dessert since my husband really loves this dish! — complimentary chocolate-oreo covered strawberry: for our anniversary celebration… very sweet of them! This place was a pleasant surprise considering that it is a hotel restaurant. I’m glad I picked this place for our anniversary — a great way to celebrate! =)

The significant other and I went here on Friday night last week. They have superb service. We actually pushed back our reservations several times due to traffic. However, they seated us promptly upon arrival. The hostess and the waitress were both very personable. Restaurant décor was modern with red tones. In hindsight, I realize that the view of the airplane runway was actually pretty amazing. It was mesmerizing to watch the planes line up and take off into the sky. We ordered the following items: Crab cake: S.O. Says it’s the best he’s ever had. I really enjoyed it too. Shrimp cocktail: Fresh and huge shrimp Chioppino: delicious flavors, not fishy Ribeye steak: huge, perfectly cooked medium-rare. We also ordered an couple of sodas, a couple glasses of Merlot wine, and a «millionaire’s coffee». It was a really enjoyable evening. Especially nice, because we bought coupons on that saved us $ 50 off our bill.

Overpriced«fancy» dining. My bf and I decided to go out for Valentine’s Day and were too late to book any reservations in the city around 7ish. We ended up finding this place as a last resort and just went with it. After going there, we know why there was still open reservations. I got the New York Strip and we got the Oysters, Mascarpone Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach to share. DONOT order the oysters or spinach! For $ 16, we got 6 super teeny tiny oysters and it didn’t even taste that good. Super disappointment to oysters lover! The spinach had a watery, flavorless consistency and definitely something I can make myself for much cheaper. Mashed potatoes weren’t bad and the steak was juicy and tender. The whole meal filled me up, but it didn’t leave a satisfying taste. Nothing I had would make me want to come back here. Verdict: PASS!

I was a bit disappointed with the lunch at Hangar Steak, located in the Marriott hotel. The best part of the meal was the free bread and the beef sliders. I ordered the Caesar salad with salmon and it was not good. The dish looked nice but the dressing had too much vinegar, the salmon was overcooked and the Parmesan cheese bowl they created was stale and too hard to eat. We had two salads, two appetizers and two non-alcoholic drinks = $ 110(tax and tip), not worth it. I’ve heard good things about their steak, so maybe I’ll try it again… but only for dinner and only steak.
