Now I have mixed feelings about this place. I decided to try this place out for the first time because I wanted something different in this food court area. As my coworker and I entered the place a lady greeted us and gave us the choice to sit anywhere we wanted. The placed looked well kept with clean tables and booths, but walking back to the bathroom it looked disgusting. There was an area where they just had random junk and it was visible from the dining area, but not in it. Not very pleasant. Anyways, we ordered their lunch Bento Box special and a Specialty roll to share. They had multiple lunch specials which is nice if people like to come here often they would have the choice of trying different things. The miso soup is good here. Very hot and fresh, but tiny cubes of tofu… Our Bento Box along with the New Yorker Roll arrived and they both looked amazing! Now this is where I take one star away from the four I was going to submit. The sushi wasn’t as fresh as I would have like for it to be. I’m very picky when it comes to sushi… It was kind of dry and bland. Maybe I just chose the wrong roll? I just had a couple bites and finished my bento box. The salad on the dish was gross. I left that alone. It had a ginger tasting dressing with idk what else, but gross! Overall, the chicken teriyaki was good, the fried rice was good, and the California roll was pretty decent too.

I should have known by the name, AZIA. Not so authentic sounding… We were there for a weekday late lunch. They have nice outside patio but unfortunately the rusty metal tables take away from the nice ambience. We had sushi and ramen. The ramen was undercooked and the noodles were very hard. The soup had a lot of grease from the stir fried veggies they put on the top. The sushi was mediocre. The freshness was the second notch compared to other places we’d been to in the area. I have a feeling that you may be better off ordering Chinese food here. They brought a small plastic dish for soy sauce for sushi that had a brown ring around it. We asked the waiter guy to replace it and he said that it was only soy sauce residue. Whatever that was, we didn’t want it on our dish! He brought us another dish but it also had a brown ring.

Horrible service, completely overpriced and the guy at the front well you can tell he’s never worked at a food service before because he was so slow and incredibly forgetful. Never coming back.

First off I want to start off by saying this is my first time ordering or receiving delivery, eating their food for that matter. 1st call I made I could tell the front desk guy was pretty busy. Instead of giving me pointers on what to try because I’m new as I told him he referred me to the online website to look at menu. Perfect I called back again with my order 2 rolls and one hand roll was just under 25 bucks I think he advised me deliveries minimum limit so I ordered more. After giving him my order he advised me it would be between 30 – 40 mins. THEDELIVERYWASONTIMEEXACTLY30MINS when I tell you I’m hungry I jumped for joy when he called to let me know he was down stairs. The sushi is amazing I’m chewing a piece now. I got spicy tuna hand roll, California roll with spicy tuna on top and rainbow roll with a side of chicken on a stick. 5 thumbs up and I only have 2. The stick is filled with meat no spaces of unwanted veggies. Only problem the chef put seeds on my sushi which I asked for none. I called to let them know and the front guy was willing to fix the problem and send it again for free. Anytime I’m feeling sushi and in the area I will be there

This place really confirms that eating at a local«Asian» place is often over rated. And $$$. We go to these Asian and Japanese places looking for fresh sushi. So we had a sushi combination here. Our kids had veggie tempura udon and a plate of Yakitori. Now sushi(1 – 5): appearance: 4 taste: 3 if not 2 freshness: 2 Not sure how this place gets fish but it really had almost no taste. And as to the rice, nice consistency but the chef must have forgotten to mix in vinegar, the key ingredient in sushi rice. I almost asked them to take the plate back and rearrange it as a sashimi plate. As to udon soup and miso, there is no dashi mixed in with broth. I got a hand it to the Mexican cook in the back that fried the tempura. It was the best item. So I certainly do not want to knock this place. It may have other Tasty Asian dishes that I have not tried. But not exactly a sushi place to where I would make a special trip.

The sushi is good, the prices are fair and the staff is friendly. The back needs to be painted and I wish they would splurge for more comfortable outdoor seating.

One of the biggest reasons I enjoy this place is the music. It plays classic rock from the 80s, or 90s and it is not overwhelmingly loud like in other places, it’s just perfect. Now the food is also really good and especially inexpensive if you go during happy hour. I love to get several appetizers as my dinner(they’re all 50% from 4 to 7) and my husband loves their Hamichi Kama. They also have good brewed japanese green tea. It’s a nice experience.

I really liked this place with it’s previous name, and the quality and dishes are the same now. I’ve never had any problems with freshness, and my dad and I usually go together and eat a ton of various types of roll and nigiri. My husband likes some of their noodle dishes, because he doesn’t like raw food(they do have dishes from basically every asian culture, and I haven’t tried all of them, but the larb type dish is pretty good. Potstickers not worth it in my book).

Very good gyoza, miso soup & sushi. Salmon was very fresh. Rolls were flavorful, with quality, fresh ingredients. Very reasonably priced.

First time leaving a negative review. Was here a year ago and it was great. Sadly, the newly expanded menu has caused the quality to drop. The green curry was bad, with the potatoes crunchy as apples. I am also pretty sure the rice was left over as it was dry and hard. The Udon tasted good but the tempura was undercooked. Their rolls were as ok only. The waitress seemed new as she did not know you needed tempura sauce for the tempura and gave me a puzzled look when I asked for a spoon for my green curry. Stick with the rolls and sashimi and you’ll be fine. Sadly crossing this place off my list.

My 6 yr old said this is the worse place ever ! They have things in the menu they don’t even serve. I’m not sure if their food is good. It’s been 40 mins and our food to go is not served yet. Geez!

Food here is actually very good here and ridiculously low priced for what you get on happy hour special. Axis Café offers a tremendous value and I am a huge fan of their udon noodles, egg rolls, tempura, and gyoza. I highly recommend them for a quality but less costly night out!

This place is poor. If I could give a negative score I would. Clearly management lets the staff run the place & deliveries as well however they choose. They take no care in the fact that their service staff behaves poorly & berates companies that have used them many times. Well I guess we’ll no longer use this poorly run, unprofessional establishment for our personal or business office anymore.

Sushi delivered was excellent! Got 4 rolls and sashimi. 3 of us loved every bite and have some leftover for today. Delivery was quicker than they said on the phone and very friendly. Expensive but I expect to pay a lot for sushi.

I had no idea this place was a sushi spot, it probably needs better advertisement. But man o man. My sis, daughter and I came here on a whem. The address off El Camino is wrong. This place is on Loker ave in Palomar Airport road. We came in and they offer 50% off appetizers and drinks from 4 to 7 everyday. And 20% off sushi. I believe that is an awesome deal. We came in starving and ready to grub. We were welcomed with all smiles and very friendly people. I walked in and I was wowed by the environment and their style of décor. Our waitress was super nice and the owner team super cool. We ordered almost everything on the appetizer menu because we were ballin on a budget. The food came out hot and ready to eat. Are sushi rolls followed in a timely manner and man were they good. City I will not always come here again, I will probably be here two to three times a week.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a Friday. I decided not to get sushi and ordered the Kung Pao chicken combo. It didn’t taste like kung pao I would get at a traditional Chinese restaurant. There were virtually no peanuts in it(I found two) and the sauce was more like a sweet syrup. It came with the tiniest egg-roll(no meat inside) and basic fried rice(also meatless). My wife got the teriyaki chicken bento. She liked it for the most part although it was too large to eat. She said the ginger dressing was too sweet. We ordered two kinds of Sapporo and hot house sake. I wasn’t a fan of the sake flavor for some reason. The«Reserve» Sapporo tasted better than the«Premium» version, though I have no idea what the difference is other than size. We sat inside, seats were very comfortable. A few people that came in opted for the nice patio out back overlooking Palomar Airport. I would say definitely hit up Azia Café during Happy Hour(50% apps & drinks and 20% off sushi) and check it out for yourself.

I used to order deliver sushi from here(new name) a couple of times a month. Called today and they now want $ 7.50 to deliver. I understand that gas prices are high but delivering a $ 100 in sushi should be free…

Meh. It wasn’t very good. The owner was a major douche and was very rude, even yelling at his employees in front of customers. We have been a few times and it’s the same thing every time. Food is not terrible but not amazing for the price. The owner is just ruining it for the place. Probably why they changed the name – to get away from their loads of bad Unilocal reviews. Names can change but crappy management can’t.

This was my first time here and we will definitely be coming back. I have been eating sushi for 30 years and don’t like the way a subtle art of creating a delicate taste for the palate has turned into a heavy-handed concoction of fish, cream cheese, and imitation crab all drenched in a mayonnaise-based goo. I was pleased to find that at Azia they know how to deliver a more traditional and refined sushi experience. We had the Octopus Sumo Salad, Ahi Poke Sashimi, Freshwater Eel, and a mix of Yellowtail-Salmon-Tuna sashimi and they were all delicious, fresh, and looked beautiful. This place was formerly named Rock N Roll Sushi — which has a mix of good and bad reviews. So maybe we caught them at their best yesterday — but it was darn good. And the music was a good mix classic rock.

This place is awesome! We live in the neighborhood across the street and got an advertisement in the mail. Looks like the name or ownership changed recently. That said, the other positive are on point. We ordered 4 rolls and they were all fresh, tasty and delicious. They even have a great patio overlooking the airport and ocean. We’ll be back to catch more sunsets! The rolls were good size and had lots of fresh fish with just the right amount of flavorful sauces. Normally I like plain rolls because most places cover their rolls in sauce to mask the fishy taste… not this place. We’re looking forward to coming back for happy hour(daily 4−6pm) when everything is 20% off. However, their menu is reasonably priced already, so happy hours and dinners will be in our future. My husband went for lunch a couple days ago and was really impressed. They have a number of great lunch specials, all nice portions and reasonably priced. This place would be good for lunch, HH or dinner. Highly recommend.

New name for old sushi place that used to be there. Think it’s a step back from where it was. Food is pretty uninspired. The miso wasn’t flavorful, the Bento plates were weird and the rolls tasted so-so. The special rolls were good but the standard rolls were not tasty.
