We love it here. We come at least once or twice a month, and it turns out the owner and my dad were neighbors! The waitress is always friendly with us, and the food is always great.

Food was very good! I recommend the General Chicken, but overall good experience. Friendly staff, good pricing. I’d return when I’m out this way again.

We have eaten here several times. The food is great but surprisingly they are never busy even though there are not many Chinese options. Sadly they seem a bit cavalier with service. It seems like a family business. Once we came and the young lady serving us was doing so between her homework. Last time we came in the cook came out and served us. This night it was busy with take out so he was checking on us as he was delivering meals and answering phones. But the service really did not lack. We never really had to wait for anything.

I don’t understand how people think this is good food. Rangoon had very little filling and was hard. The fried rice has no veggies or egg in it. The«Beef» in the broccoli beef was more like a blob of overly processed gluten. The hot and sour soup had too much of whatever thickening agent they use(???). The chicken chow mein had very little flavor, and to top it off their fortune cookies come unpackaged – probably placed in the take out bag by the same person handling your money. Disgusting. The girl at the front ignored my little boy when he was excitedly telling her about his race cars. Who just flat out ignores a sweet little kid? So disappointed:(

Ok I never write a review but I feel these people running this restaurant earned my business by offering a Great lunch special with some of the best hot and sour I’ve had as well as the pepper steak. But what really impressed me was to inside of the restaurant was Spotless! It reminded me of the old school Chinese restaurants of days gone by! Do your self a favor and stop by.

We love this place! Whenever we come down to Carson from Incline Village, we always stop in for lunch. Great tasting, fresh ingredients and enough to take home leftovers. Super cheap and very clean.

Food was very good, and the service excellent! They have a large menu that includes all the typical options so lots to chose from. We had the House Chow Fun, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and Scallops with veggies. All the dishes were tasty and fresh. Heck my 7 year old who typically does not like Chinese food loved the Sweet & Sour Chicken! Prices was also fair. Glad to have found a Chinese restaurant in CC that the whole family enjoyed!

I’ve been to China Jade Horse a few times for lunch with a small group of friends. I’ve never seen it busy in there, even during the typical lunch hour. That means for attentive service, but makes you wonder why other people don’t eat here… The lunch menu is your choice of entrée, either hot and sour soup or egg drop soup, a small egg roll, a fried wonton wrapper, and white or brown rice. It’s a really good deal and definitely plenty of food. And there are enough entrée options to please everyone — seafood, vegetarian, beef, chicken, and pork. The spiciness indicators on the menu confuse me, or maybe I’ve destroyed my taste buds. But I find that dishes indicated as «hot and spicy» are not so much really. But at the same time, Mongolian Beef has the«hot and spicy» indicator, but this typically isn’t a spicy dish. So, I don’t know how much faith I would put into that at this particular restaurant. China Jade Horse doesn’t rock my world, but has never done me wrong either. As Unilocal states for three stars — «it’s A-OK».

Well it wasn’t horrible but it really wasn’t «all that». As far as I’m concerned our lunch was comparable to frozen Chinese food. It was edible. We plan on trying one more time for dinner, hope it’s so better much better than lunch.

Most of the plates at our table were spot on. Nice atmosphere friendly service. the shrimp in my daughter’s plate was overcooked and had an off putting texture. I’ll try it again.

So… From the parking lot the food smelled great. I ordered the sweet and sour pork meal with fried rice which came with an egg roll, fried prawn, and chicken in foil. The egg roll and prawn tasted okay. The chicken and foil tasted… strange. The fried rice didn’t look like traditional fried rice. Where’s the peas, carrots, and BBQ pork slices? It looked like white rice with soy sauce mixed in. It tasted okay. Not fantastic. Not horrible. The sweet and sour pork was okay also. Nothing here to write home about. I have to say that Chinese food is my favorite type of food and growing up in the Bay Area of California I was fortunate to taste the best. This does not measure up at all but, again, it isn’t horrible. I think the problem here is that the food is lacking in flavor. The sweet and sour pork is so overpowered with the sour of the sauce that it’s all you taste.

I hate giving bad reviews but recently this place has performed poorly. Hopefully the chef reads this because your food was so good! But now, I won’t go back. It’s awful and lost it’s quality. Sorry, guys.

Very calm and slow at 3pm on a Sunday. We called ahead for a party of 16. There was one server but no worries cause we were the only ones in the place. Grandpa called it with the good on this one. Order of hot tea all around and we soon were eating. I got the egg flower soup which was a lot like egg drop with corn. I got a dinner meal combo for a decent price and wasn’t disappointed. I got a couple rolls and crab rangoon with my orange chicken and fried rice. Lots of food and it was hot and fresh when it hit the table. Got to try the generals chicken, and the walnut chicken as well. Yum. There was also an order of the house soup and the helping was huge. Everyone’s food came out hot and fresh. I didn’t hear a complaint at all from either table of us. Leftovers all around as the helpings/meals were large and filled up everyone. Not sure if this is a local place or not but it felt local owned and run and almost family like. As we were finishing up a few older couples came in and started the dinner rush which was still be handled by just one lady. If I was living near here I would be a frequent patron… probably a lot of take out. I think this is better than the panda express right across the lot.

China Jade Horse: August 7, 2014, 6:30 I’d heard the reports, mostly from my daughter and her husband, «…the place is great.» They also said, «We call ahead so they can make the duck for us.» So, expectations were high and I was glad to be going there. I enjoyed the food and so, for me, it merits the four star review, and a commitment to return. We happened to be with my sister in law, and she likes to eat. That’s a good thing, as she also likes to share, and my wife and I benefitted by trying dishes that we wouldn’t have even considered ordering. My wife and I each ordered one of the combo plates that are on the menu for a set price. If you’ve been to a Chinese restaurant you know what is offered, you get this or that for the first course, this or that for the second course, and so on. We ordered different combos so that we could enjoy the different foods, as we also like to share. My sister in law opted for several different dishes, not on the set price portion of the menu, and she was served a plethora of food. It’s a small place, and tonight it was functioning with one server and one busser. We beat the crowd in, but crowded it did get, and this doesn’t even take into consideration the ‘to go’ orders that they were managing at the same time. It was so busy that a man not in a uniform took our order, he may have been the owner or the chef(or both), but it was nice to see that there were some support personnel able to jump in and help out. The food we ordered arrived quickly, was fresh and hot, and tasty. Some dishes we liked more than others, but real good Chinese food is not necessarily in my wheelhouse, and so if you are an aficionado this may not be the place for you. I always expect spicy food, but that’s probably my lack of knowledge of Chinese food and it’s regions. Were there any concerns for us? First, I would say that they were understaffed for the volume of folks that were there on a Thursday night. Maybe we were a bigger crowd than they suspected was coming, but there were too many people for one server and one busser. Second, they don’t take American Express. I like to use that card, and so if you want to as well, choose elsewhere. So, China Jade Horse has good food, was understaffed, but worth a visit, and use your Visa or Mastercard.

I’ve been on the east coast for the last month, and while I like the chinese good there, it doesn’t compare with the Mongolian beef they serve here. I love bringing a book/homework and eating here while I unwind.

What a fab place to eat my husband and I had the family meal B. Great food, great service, and nice atmosphere. Definitely on our do again list! We were greeted and seated promptly, the food was delivered quickly and very hot. The walnut shrimp is wonderful.

It was a sleepy weekday night when we popped in for dinner after a hard day of shopping at nearby Costco and Walmart. With all that money I was saving, I figured I’d spend some of that hard earned cash with dinner here. Sleepy ain’t kidding — the waitress was sitting in a corner booth with her eyes closed and later, I found out another human curled up on the other side of the booth dead asleep too. BUTTHATDIDN’T MATTER. I ordered the General chicken dinner special while my friend ordered the Unilocal-approved honey walnut prawns. The plate that my food arrived in was more like a giant platter! It came with 2 crab rangoons, 2 egg rolls, a generous serving of the General chicken and lots of rice. There was a sweet and sour sauce, as well as a kick ass spicy mustardy one too. Too much to finish in one go, so half of it went in a takeaway container. My friend’s honey walnut prawns was delicious(I stole one, I had to taste it!). NO leftovers on her plate. All this for under $ 25. Bargain!
