My favorite sushi place in town. Very friendly and attentive host willing to do whatever it takes to please customers. My husband was not a fan of sushi till we came here but he instantly fell in love with the dragon balls. One of my favorites too. A punch of hotness in a creamy ball of heaven. I like the Lili roll. Pretty simple. My husband loves the CiCi roll which he had altered to a deep fry roll that was a delicious variation to an already perfect roll. Not much of an AYCE fan but we love coming here even for a quickie.

This is my go to for sushi. The service is great and the staff is friendly. The lily roll is the bomb. The food is fresh. Go at 11 when they open lunch at noon is crazy.

My husband & I love it here! The sushi always tastes fantastic & everyone is so nice. We have been coming here for sushi for over 4 years & it’s been consistently great. We recommend this place to everyone in the Carson area!

Very good sushi for Carson City. Nigiri was fresh and the presentation was very artful. Miso soup was a bit too salty but overall we were satisfied. Rolls were typical with crystal shrimp.

We came in on a busy Friday night, very hungry. We were given a side table and kind of forgotten about, though we got many, many refills on drinks. Oddly though, when the waiter finally got to us, with the most gracious of possible interfacing with our table, we absolutely couldn’t fault him(he said the table was told to him that another waiter would pick it up). But after that, the kitchen didn’t get to our order. At that time, we almost stepped up from our table and left. We felt so hungry as other tables kept getting food, even seconds. Eventually, our food came and was so good. I had a bunch of delicious sashimi including scallop and some other really tender soft ones, and tuna rolls and very nice salad type rolls called«Garden Rolls.» I really recommend all the sashimi and skip the rolls, read on to find out why. Also, a lot of extras came our way that I kept asking to be put on the menu. I’m not sure they we were charged for them. The bill wasn’t as high as we thought and we left pretty full. My only complaint was about the service, I almost think a place like Kei Sushi should have a larger dining room and more staff. I thought there seemed to be more bussers than servers, which may be something they’ll look into. My only serious complaint about the food is that the sticky rice seemed a little too wet. So a lot of the rolls, especially the ones with the rice on the outside, sort of collapsed sloppily. P. S. I am a coeliac so I am very wary of going anywhere and drag my feet before going anywhere I do not control, but they were very knowledgeable about their menu items and helped me avoid contamination. I can only have 20 parts per million or less gluten or my blood tests go haywire. I know I did not get sick here.

This is my favorite restaurant in Carson City. Nice space, nice chefs and serves and great sushi. I have consistently been surprised by how good this place is. Completely unexpected in Carson City. Not sure what to order? The sushi chefs are happy to whip up something special for you. Definitely try the Rooster Salmon.

I was here for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend. It was our first time here. We live in Tahoe & it is definitely worth the drive. Service was awesome. We will definitely be back!

I really enjoy this place for the food. However they are short staffed, which had this poor server running around(literally) trying to handle all the tables. The service is not the best the last couple times, but the food is extremely good. We have had most of their different varieties of sushi. I won’t lie, I definitely adore that they do mor variety with dessert rolls than most places. Makes it interesting. Plus their sake selection is something I also enjoy. If the service were just a LITTLE better I’d say 5⁄5

Worse service ever. Charged me the tip after taking about 20 minutes to get my rolls. Owner was rude

Really great food. One of the best sushi places I’ve ever been. We tried lots of great sushi, but our favorite were ceviche roll and ninja. From the appetizers — baked mussels blowed our mind. Ceviche appetizers were also very good.

This wasn’t my first choice for sushi, but I worked out well. We came here because we got tired of the service that the sushi place we normally go. We saw it, and figured that it was worth a shot. The food is great, and the presentation is top-notch. I could not imagine a person being disappointed there. The service was pretty good. My wife slipped and fell, and no one really had any concern about her, which is upsetting. Other than that, they were very attentive and gave several recommendations based off of what we stated that we were open to. I have rarely seen a sushi establishment as clean as this one. They definitely set a different standard on this, and hopefully other places in the area follow suite. As stated, one of my complaints is that my wife fell and no one really cared. It could have been a lawsuit for them, and they did not care. The second thing that I wasn’t very happy about is the atmosphere. While the employees did not show, we felt that our children were not extremely welcome. In a community as family-orientated as Carson City, a place should not expect to have customers come back if two children who are not being disruptive are not welcome.

The first time I went here it was in the evening and it was mostly men working. Their service was rude and unfriendly. I’m disappointed in the way the workers treated us since I heard such high reviews. After poor customer service we were shorted change on our check as if they were trying to get more of tip from us. Overall, my party had an awful experience and I hope they hire some more friendly people. Since then I have gone back twice to give them another chance. Both times I was taken care by some very sweet ladies so I changed the rating from one star to three. Only because I’ve had some immaculate sushi in my lifetime and this is pretty average in flavor and style.

Came with a party of 20 with reservations and still the customer service needs help. After everyone arrived the waiters couldn’t figure out what they were doing and we waited an hour for our bill. The food tasted okay but I won’t be back there again. Their organization skills need work. And if they know their going to have a big party then they should plan on having more then one person helping the whole table just saying

Long waits, yes! Order ahead of time before you start eating your last order. Service was kind and attentive though. Good selection for AYCE at dinner time. Worth trying special nigiri or combi rolls.

I done et too much. Such is the danger of AYCE — you think you need to eat as much as you can without any regard to how sick you might feel hours later. Lunch here runs about $ 18, and if you add soda(a rather pricey $ 2.75) and a generous tip, AYCE is best devoured with an empty stomach, fat wallet and no plans to eat for the next 12 hours. My chef was very nice and was attentive enough to notice when we were done and taking a breather between rolls. However, the guests next to me were extremely chatty and warranted a lot of his attention, yet he answered all of their questions with politeness while multi-tasking. We started with the miso soup, which I loved — not too salty and with fresh slices of mushrooms and tofu. I always start with any roll featuring unagi, my favorite. The long rolls were really… long. If you don’t want to overstuff yourself(ha), stick with the smaller rolls so you have room to try different varieties of cooked and uncooked sushi. No room for dessert. Ambiance was modern and very clean. I’m no sushi ninja, but this meal was delightful and exactly what we needed.

This is without a doubt my favorite Sushi place in the area, and I’ve tried just about all of them. First of all, the All You Can Eat prices and menu options are very reasonable. Most places in Reno/Carson are priced similarly, but the All You Can Eat(AYCE) menu can sometimes be small and selective. Kei has a large menu of options to choose from, including appetizers and desserts, which can also be hard to find for AYCE. But apart from the large selection, the food is tremendous. Rolls to Order: ALLOFTHEM. No really, they’re all pretty wonderful. But of course I do have favorites; the Tom Roll, the Fuji Mountain Roll, and the Great White. I love the collaboration of flavors that the chefs experiment with, especially with the use of lemon and cilantro. Other Things to Note: *The miso soup is fresh and has the perfect amount of saltiness(sometimes places make it too salty in my opinion). *The dessert rolls are creative and yummy. *The Ceviche Tostada is also a family favorite; it’s a wonderful fusion of Asian and Mexican. *The Dragon Roll is hot, hot, hot but so, so good if you’re a spicy eater. *The Nigiri is made with the perfect portions of rice and fish, and not too much of a mouth-full. I mean, the list of positives goes on and on. My family and I come here once a week, without fail. It is our Friday Cheat Night favorite. We always leave happy and full, and of course anticipating the next Friday. We have tried Kim Lee’s Sushi, as well as others in the area, and like I said, we always keep coming back to this one. Happy feasting!

One of my favorite sushi restaurants. The short roll is AMAZING. So is the crystal. I love their all you can eat sushi. Great customer service, very quick refilling drinks and making sure everything is great. I’m not too fond of their chicken teriyaki but most like it.

We were in Carson City so we decided to give this place a try because it was recommended to us by a friend. The employees were very nice! And the presentation wasn’t bad. The sushi was ok(rice was hard on one of the rolls, and the hand roll was soggy), but the wait time was horrible. We sat at a table, and they take your order instead of marking what you want on a sheet.

Best sushi!!! Really good service! Very thoughtful and attentive! Took a family road trip to Tahoe and was craving sushi. Stumbled into this restaurant and wow. Great gem in Carson City. Efrain was super friendly and really observant! My mom took out her hot water bottle and Efrain came by really fast and asked if she wanted some hot water. Our meal was so good! Plates were well decorated too. Overall very pleasant dinner!
