Average BBQ, I did like the hot bbq sauces tho. I probably wouldn’t return as I can get better bbq up north back home.

Tonight my husband and I ventured into unknown territory with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. I have to say that it was surprisingly good. My track record is against me when I occasionally say, «Let’s try something different.» Often times it turns out to be disastrous. But Dickey’s was very good. I had the ½ rack of ribs with Barbecue Beans and Macaroni & Cheese for my sides. The ribs were moist and had just enough sauce on them that I didn’t even need any extra. The beans and mac & cheese were good too. My husband had the same, but with some pulled pork as well. He said it was really good. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. My husband’s favorite part was the free soft serve ice cream. As a side note, we are originally from Florida and do not care for the vinegar based BBQ sauce which many of the restaurants here use. Dickey’s didn’t seem to use that sauce when cooking the beans or meat. They have it as a side item that you could add yourself, though; if you like that sort of thing. The sauce on the meat was more of smokey-sweet combo, I really enjoyed it.

Yes, yes… This is a chain and yes, this is Carolina but NOPE — This is not Carolina BBQ, thank [the diety of your choosing]. Hence the reason there are ten Dickey’s to every one Smithfield’s: This is REALBBQ and it is REALLYTASTY. First up, there’s a wide variety of meats, sides, rolls or REAL round hush puppies and naner puddin or pecan pie to pick from. Ordering online is a breeze. Tonight, I got the XL family pack online for just under $ 60 which fed six people and enough left over to feed 2 more folks, no doubt. This deal makes for an incredibly inexpensive pot luck at work, unlike the buckets of chicken deals and super subs and is a preferred alternative to *groan* pizza. The employees were all extremely friendly, efficient and clearly worked well together, enjoying what they were doing. 4 stars because they don’t deliver, which has nothing to do with the food… But it sure would be nice if they did.

we got a refund from the credit card agency. the young white female was only nice to the male customer groups. she was rude to me and other female guests. Talk back rude and yell at, interrupt us, not want to come wait on us, rush to get rid of us, waked away from us while wait on us and we had to ask her come back and finish the job. we had to ask her to come back and finish the job and she would repeat the same questions. WE finally called the manager. the white female with blond hair. she would not volunteer to apologize. and we each demanded that she give us a complimentary beverage. She did apologize. we had problems at the eating area. the male white obese tall he would walk in front of us and block our walkway. he is an employee. this would be in the eating area. there was another employee white and young would do it to us and other customers. What the other employee did. We have not been back in a long time. we each got the complimentary beverage.

This place is awful ! Worst Bbq ever! I’m from Carolina & the audacity of these people to call this Carolina BBQ when it clearly is not is offensive! They don’t even serve real Carolina BBQ nothing minced or vinegar based. The food was hard and over cooked and so gross we just threw it in the trash & left. Loss of appetite. I will never waste my money there again

Good food here. Fast service and great prices. The smell is amazing when you enter the building. I’ll definitely be back. Visited Dickies because I had a coupon. It was definitely worth it. The smokehouse salad is amazing.

I usually don’t leave reviews but the service here was so poor I had no choice. Tonight I ordered the picnic order through 919 dine. It specifically says this order is supposed to feed 3 – 4 people and when the food arrived it was 4 little ribs in there. I called the restaurant and the rude manager Andrew said well it’s supposed to be 1 pound of meat so it really doesn’t pertain to ribs, it’s really for the pulled pork and brisket. I said well I don’t work there, so how would I know that. Instead of sending additional food complimentary after I’d spent $ 40 at their restaurant. He told me to get over it and continued to go off on me. I said I will talk to the regional manager and asked for the number. He asked for my name and number to give the regional office. I declined and steadily asked for his name until he finally gave it to me. This was by far the WORST customer service I have ever experienced and would not suggest this place to anyone. That posting false advertisement!!!

The food was decent, the service was terrible. The girl wasn’t rude but she looked miserable and hardly said a word to us. Even when we walked up to the counter she just sort of stared which was really odd. We don’t live in the area so maybe it was just an off day –_–

Since this is my first time at Dickey’s, I was not familiar with the menu, but I was brought in by the wonderful smells wafting through the parking lot of the nearby shopping center. When I walked in, there were pictures posted of this thing called a «baker». Looks like some sort of pita sandwich, so I ordered one with a side of baked potato casserole. The only reason I give this a 4 instead of a 5 is that the girl could have told me a baker is a stuffed baked potato. I know… She probably figured i knew… But who orders a gigantic potato with a side of potatoes? Regardless… Both were delicious… And i will be back again!

Employees are unengaged, dirty, and dishelveled, Service was poor, frozen yogurt machine was broken, brisket was dry. If you live in Cary, drive the extra few miles and go to the Dickey’s in Brier Creek. I’ve had much better service and food at Brier Creek.

After my last unpleasant experience, the franchise owner responded very quickly. He was sincere in his words and truly cares about the customer’s experience at his restaurants. This made me decide to return at my next opportunity. This opportunity didn’t come until yesterday, but I’m glad that I returned. I decided to order the 3 meat plate for $ 12. I wanted to sample the pork, brisket, and spicy sausage. Meat plates come with 2 sides and a roll or hush puppies. I went with mac n cheese and jalapeño baked beans for my sides. Dickey’s gives you a pretty high quality cup for your drinks. Root beer on the soda fountain? Root beer on the soda fountain. Any place that serves root beer is a true winner. I know that barbecue is meant to be eaten with sweet tea or lemonade, but dude, root beer. The food arrived quickly, and after initial glances, I noticed a few disappointing things. The mac n cheese uses Velveeta. The brisket that I ordered was mostly chopped, despite the cashier not telling me that it would be a problem to get it sliced. Also, I definitely could’ve been given more than 2 hush puppies [my friend offered me his 2, hence the 4 in the picture]. My initial pessimism was washed away once I started eating. The meats were all very good. I was a big fan of their house BBQ sauces, especially their«Hot and Spicy.» Outside of the mac n cheese, which I really need to start asking whether it’s baked or Velveeta crap, I finished everything on my plate and enjoyed it. I don’t think I’ve been to a barbecue place that has truly wowed me yet in the Triangle. With relatively low prices, good quality meats and sauces, and a high standard for customer service, I’ll happily stop by Dickey’s again.

All of the meats on the meat plates were extremely dry and flavorless. If these meats were smoked you would have to be smoky the bear to be able to notice. The only reason that we give this one star; the okra was some of the best we have had in a very long time. For a family of 5 the meal was 59.00. Outrageous! We will never visit this establishment as the cooks were coughing and sneezing all over the food.

While many of the locals will look down on this place, if you’re from out of town and want a quick intro to Carolina BBQ Dickey’s is a very solid choice. I was staying in Cary and just didn’t want to drive into Raleigh for something«better» but thoroughly enjoyed every bite of pulled pork at Dickey’s and fell in love with Carolina style BBQ sauce. If you think you don’t like vinegar based sauces, try this and find out how wrong you are!

I was craving some BBQ and had never been to Dickeys so decided to try it out. I was a little confused by the menu. They’re take out and catering options were mixed in with everything making it hard to read. The girl at the register was nice enough to explain a few things to me. I ordered the lil hoagie. It doesn’t seem like much but if you add the two sides, i think it’s the perfect amount of food to fill you but not make you feel grossly full. The meat was very good. I used the vinegar based sauce and enjoyed it. The waffle fries were ok. The first few were over seasoned. I do not recommend the tomato cucumber side. It was large slices of cucumber and tomato with what seemed like store bought Italian dressing poured on top. Not as good as the noodles salad on the other end of the block. It was a little expensive for what it was. But again the bbq was pretty good. The radio kept cutting out and have me a headache but the staff was very polite. Not sure I’ll come back unless I’m really craving bbq and am already in the area.

I really like Dickey’s food but this particular location, being in a shopping center where families can eat, I was disgusted by my table and more importantly the high chairs were sticky and needed a good cleaning. I have twins and even after pulling a couple of chairs off the stack I found them all that nasty.

A dear friend of mine suggested we go here and since I had never been I was delighted to oblige. She raved about how they lived in Texas and this was their favorite place to eat. It’s a cute order at the counter place with a Western theme. They bring your food out to you and checked several times to see if everything was ok. A few too many times but better more service then less. They were out of the green beans I had ordered as a side dish so I had baked beans instead that were very good although pricey at $ 2.00 a serving which wasn’t that big. I ordered the pork tangler baked potato with pork, cheese, onion rings, bb sauce. The meat was tender and tasted great however there wasn’t much of it. My friend got the one with brisket and she said the same thing. Huge potato not enough filling. I would definitely give this place another try with a different item so I could really taste the meat and I am sure it goes back on the list for places to go to. Free ice cream too with a check in.

I’m a NYer in town for the week(just got in around 6AM this morning after a long drive, in fact) and determined to sample multiple BBQ spots while here in NC. While I am working on putting together a one-family ‘cue crawl through Raleigh-Durham and the nearby area, I started off here. Now I know, Dickey’s is a chain BBQ restaurant and people are down on it for that reason. I came with an open mind(and an open mouth) and came away with this: Dickey’s provides a decent meal at an affordable price. It won’t blow your mind, but you won’t feel like you ate out of the trash bin, either. Main courses: Pork ribs: soft and juicy. Tasty. If I were back at Dickey’s, I’d lean towards getting these again. Pulled pork: from the looks of it, it seemed rather dry. I tasted a bit and it was unmemorable. Pass. Spicy Cheddar Sausage: has a bit of kick to it. Decent flavor. There was some left over and we packed it. Sides: Mac & Cheese: Not a fan. My daughter loves Mac and left half of it untouched. Did not pack this. Hush puppies: Decent. Nice texture to complement the tenderness of the pork ribs. Green Beans w/Bacon: Saw the beans. Had trouble spotting the bacon. Pass. Fried Okra: «Try it,» they said. «It’s good.» «It is okra, and okra is gross,» I said. I relented and tried it, only to find out what I already knew: I was right. Brunswick Stew: Hands-down my favorite part of the meal. Very tasty. I’ve heard that other places that serve this stew have it looking more like soup; theirs is thick, almost paste-like. And very yummy. If you happen into Dickey’s, I’d suggest a One Meat platter(pork ribs) with the two sides being Brunswick Stew and… Brunswick Stew. But if you really want the variety provided by a second side, I guess the Hush Puppies would be good. I’ve also heard that the brisket is good, but I passed on that because I have a few other local places in mind to go to for that.

I go to Dickey’s every so often when I can think of nothing else to have for lunch. I am a huge BBQ fan, and while theirs is not bad and is not that good either. Usually when I go I get the two meat platter with two sides. I really like their mac and cheese so that is always one of the sides. The coleslaw is usually my second choice but sometimes I mix it up. For the meats I always get the same two, although I really should mix it up. The brisket is good and is usually cooked right and tender enough that you only need a fork to eat it with. I also get the pulled pork, and this is where I usually lose them. The pulled pork has always been dry, almost like they do not cook it with the fat still on the pork. I try to make it moist with the«Carolina» sauce they have but really that just ruins the taste. I am not sure what they make that sauce out of but they need to go to Wilson or Goldsboro to see was Carolina Vinegar Sauce is supposed to taste like. With all of that said though, at least I get free ice cream after my meal is done, so that gets an extra star.

Stopped by here while vising family in the area. The interior here is nice and the service was good. The BBQ pork I had was good but nothing exceptional, in my experience. Sides were good as well. I’d give it another shot if visiting the area again.

Good, quick BBQ. Simple selections to choose from, with all your basic sides. Super kid friendly yet not an obnoxious romp-a-room atmosphere. Been here twice and both times felt the same… in a good way. They obviously train their people to make you feel at home for the less than 20 minutes you’re there.
