The food was phenomenal. Our waitress made this a 4 not a 5. She didn’t remember our extra sauces, then took awhile to bring them when we reminded her and didn’t come around often enough for drink refills. Overall it was delicious food! Very fresh sushi

It’s Shiki Sushi’s brother(as a Durhamite, I’m much more familiar with the Shiki side of the family) and let me tell you, although the food was very similar, it just goes to show you that atmosphere and service go a LONG way in making or breaking the experience. Tasu does have the BOGO(with drink purchase) sushi option, but be aware, it’s ALL the sushi at the table, so if you’re going with another couple, be prepared to pay for the two highest priced sushi rolls between the four of you. I love their eel fashion roll and highly recommend. Pass on the Bang, Bang Shrimp, it’s a large enough portion to easily feed four but it was very over-sauced, so I felt like I was eating shrimp covered in spicy mayo. And the entrees we ordered were pretty lackluster, in addition to having to wait 45 minutes with countless, «it’s coming» promises, and«sushi’s ready, just waiting for entrees», we finally had to ask that the bring the readied sushi after waiting a future ten minutes and having management explain that our entrée was taken to the wrong table(yikes!). Not great service with okay food just led to a «eh» experience and one I wouldn’t rush to replicate soon.

Very disappointing. Waited an hour for take out and the quality and quantity of the food left much to be desired. Tried the sushi, sashimi, and a chicken entrée. The hot plate was cold by the time it came to me. Wouldn’t waste your money on this place

Very good sushi place! Their sushi is buy one get one free. Our server was very attentive. It was our first time coming here and we will defiantly come back. The place was very clean as well.

The boyfriend and I went here to get some BOGO sushi and I don’t characterize myself as a sushi snob, but I do appreciate nicely made sushi… this place did not exactly deliver. The rice was too pressed(like grocery store sushi) and the eel was not warm when served(when it usually should be). The only thing that saved this place was our wonderful server. She was extremely nice and attentive and gave us some great suggestions.

Made a trip down to NC to visit my parents and we all decided that we should go out to eat. Every time I log into Facebook and look at my dad’s page, all I see him and my mom do is eat at Tasu, so I figured hey lets go here(but then again I should’ve known better to come here since my dad thinks that red lobster is fine dining). To get to the point, the service bombed. Our waitress was just purely horrible. I tried to give the waitstaff the benefit of the doubt, since stuff happens… but this lady was just purely HORRIBLE. She would forget items to bring back to the table for us and she messed up my parents order(or she simply got WAYY too confused). Luckily, my parents were team players so they didn’t complain much and just shared a plate of food together. Overall, I will not be back here… food is mediocre for the price.

Always been curious about this place, but never took the time to stop in until today. Absolutely love the ambiance of the restaurant; there was great music playing and it wasn’t too busy. Unfortunately, I didn’t really like anything else about it! The menu looked really good, but did NOT deliver. Started off with one roll and a bowl of the thai coconut soup. It was WAY too sweet and the waitress implied it was pre-made when I requested no shrimp or chicken… so why did it take over thirty minutes to get to my table? Finally got the sushi afterward and realized I better order my entrée quickly since it was taking so long. Of course that took over thirty minutes too so we got it to go. It was a birthday lunch I was really looking forward to trying the menu but I was disappointed. When I got home and tried the lamb seared wok, I was so perplexed. The lamb tastes like chewy beef… wtf? That dish was way overpriced, it seems like they generally cut a lot of corners here. Won’t be back anytime soon, that’s for sure.

I love love love this place! I’ve gone here about 6 times in the last 7 months! I always take advantage of their BOGO free sushi(w a drink purchase). I am able to get two 8 piece sushi for only $ 16! My husband has had their entrée sized plated dishes(ranging from $ 12-$ 18) and it takes him 2 meals to finish them! He likes it too. The service is pretty good too. Can’t complain! I can’t wait to go there again!

Tasu is my go-to sushi spot in the Triangle. Love their big selection of BOGO sushi rolls. The sushi is fresh and filling. Service is friendly and attentive — we always are in and out very quickly. I have been here several times since I moved to the area and have never had a bad experience.

First thing that was noticed was that the menu makes no sense at all. Is this suppose to Asian/American/Mexican cuisine? What is going on? There doesn’t seem to be a clear direction where the restaurant wants to be. Secondly, once the food arrived, I was highly disappointed. Lack of flavor with the exception of too much salt. Even the sushi was mediocre. Third, the server spilled our sake on the dessert plate. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I’ve had worse, but this comes pretty close.

BOGO Sushi with purchase of a drink. Good, standard sushi, lack-luster service. The food was good, typical sushi menu. I also got a side of seaweed salad that was pretty good as well. Again, typical sushi, nothing out of the ordinary. Would be a great place for a date night or girls night(which is what we did) as the movie theater is right next door. We asked for a recommendation from the server and she let us know that she doesn’t eat sushi… so that was not super helpful, but not her fault. We had to flag her down a few times, which again happens on a busy Saturday night. However, one of my girl friends asked for a glass or mug for her bottled beer at the same time I asked for a glass of wine. My wine came, but the frosted glass never did. We asked her again for the glass and she said she forgot and would go get it. Never came back. Saw her with other tables and ended up having to go up and get a glass from the bar. She saw her walk up and get it herself and never apologized for forgetting again. Not bad service, but just not great. Wouldn’t stop me from coming back.

This place used to be a great spot for dates and get together’s with friends. Their bartenders were friendly and their service was good. Food and sushi has ALWAYS been great! However, I’m super disappointed in my experiences with ordering to-go. The first time, the host quoted me 15 – 20 min and I ended up waiting for over an hour for my food. I decided to give it another go and ignore my first experience. We ordered sushi for 3 and specifically asked to make sure there was soy sauce already in the bag. The host assured us it was. Well, we got home and no soy sauce for our sushi rolls. After spending almost $ 100 in food, we had to run up the road to our local grocer to buy some. Appreciate the effort! Moral of the story: Check and double-check your to-go orders, and don’t order on a time crunch.

This place used to be a typical Friday-night date-night for us. BOGO sushi for the price couldn’t have been better. Staff knew us by our appearance and most of the service staff knew what we were going to order before we even sat down(trust me, that was impressive!). With new management, higher prices(sushi rolls now $ 3-$ 4 more per roll) and the policy you have to order a drink to get the BOGO deal(an extra $ 3), we just can’t justify the extra $ 10 or so it takes to eat here for the SAME food and lack of recognition when we come in. This is not a bad place to eat. Generally, the food is always«good». The service has gotten less personal, the prices have inflated too much too fast, and it’s just not the same as it was when it opened. Sad.

I come here often as they are close by and the sushi rolls are good. Their rolls are larger than other sushi places I have been. I always leave so stuffed with two rolls. There has been a few new changes this year. They still have bogo but now there is a prerequisite that you must buy a drink(alcoholic or fountain). The prices of the rolls have gone up a dollar or two but some stayed about the same. They have started to bring complimentary wonton chips and sauce which I would say is a plus. This place does satisfy my sushi cravings and the location is convenient for me.

I didn’t get sushi because everyone in Raleigh/Cary has BOGO. My husband and I got meat dishes– hibachi steak and ginger chicken. It was over priced and I could’ve skipped the restaurant and ordered Chinese takeout from any other hole in the wall Chinese restaurant in any town. The ginger chicken had no ginger… and was basically overly processed chicken with smushy veggies smothered in GROSS slimy sweet soy sauce. I had to take Tums after the meal because it gave me such bad indigestion. The hibachi steak was under cooked as to what we had ordered and was bland. The soba noodles that came with the meal were also mushy and bland. The server was nice, but slow. We asked for plates for our appetizer and I guess she forgot so 10 minutes later I had to go up to the front to ask for plates from the hostess. I’d suggest going anywhere but here for your next Asian meal.

Tasu is one of my go-to places for BOGO sushi. I absolutely love their Florida roll and Special Maguru, a winning combination in my eyes. They have a great sized restaurant and there is rarely a wait which is a big plus for me. The staff is always very friendly and they have my favorite mints waiting when you leave. Unfortunately they don’t receive 5 stars from me for a couple of reasons. They don’t split checks which really makes dining here with a group a hassle. Luckily the people I go with usually get the same rolls or same priced rolls as me so it isn’t a problem, but it is definitely worth noting. Secondly, they recently raised their prices of sushi. The Florida roll went up from $ 13 to $ 15, leaving me no choice but to abandon it for another option. You might think $ 2 isn’t a big deal, and it isn’t but I like ordering two of the same priced rolls so I can get the best deal!

Not the best sushi in town but for the price you pay(hooray for BOGO deals) and the overall experience you get, it deserves five stars! We had a very kind(and funny) server! She made sure our glasses were always full and that we were enjoying our food. I have a thing for spicy mayo and she had no problem giving me extra on the side before my sushi came out~ The hibachi chicken is absolutely delicious! I know that hibachi chicken can easily be dried out because of the way it’s cooked but that wasn’t an issue here! Super moist chicken with great flavor. Portions are huge and the chicken lies on a bed of vegetables AND noodles AND rice on the side– i’m not even joking! For the sushi, I tried the special maguro and the bagel rolls. Maybe it’s because each piece of the bagel roll is deep fried individually, I noticed that they stuffed them up with a lot more rice than other sushi restaurants which was probably the biggest bummer I can say about this place. Tasty food, massive portions, great staff, casual(but still nice) atmosphere, and a manageable bill!

Good: Music was fun Looks cool and clean Salad with the ginger dressing was really good Bad: We ran out of drinks and had to wait a few times Edamame was undercooked(they were hard still) but the salt on it was nice Tempura green beans were totally flavorless and still raw We order appetizers for the table and each got our own bills and somehow I ended up paying for all of the appetizers. He did not ask or split them.
