I came here on my quick lunch break, and it had the shortest and fastest moving line out of the restaurants I could see so I chose this place. I waited for a bit and the man taking my order thanked me for my patience, which I really appreciated and always makes my experience better. On Wednesdays and Saturdays they have a deal that involves a Deluxe Burger(which is the quarter-pounder on their menu), regular size of fries, and a 20 oz. drink for $ 4.59, which only really amounts to about a dollar less but a deal is a deal, right? My fries were crispy and delicious! Just the right amount of salt. The burger had a really big piece of lettuce that made it hard to eat, but besides that was really good. I love the way they make their burgers here, more than quite a few other fast food options. My Coke, however, basically tasted like water with a spritz of cola flavoring… which was awful. There was no carbonation, no real Coke flavor, and I was not happy. If I had had time, I would’ve gone back and let them know and asked for a new one. I would return again because the food was good and the staff are very polite, but I would probably mention the flat Coke I experienced today in an effort to not have that happen again.

They get five stars for being excellent at what they do… quick hit hamburgers and fries. I used to go to Short Stop quite often back in the day but only recently discovered this location in Cedar Park. They’re just as good as I remember. Great burgers prepared fresh and at an incredibly good price. You can get shots of cherry or vanilla in your shot drinks for just a few cents. Nice touch. They have other items besides burgers but I must confess I’ve never tried them. Probably worth a shot given how great their burgers are. Go for it.

I love this Short Stop, definitely one of the best burgers in Cedar Park! Ask for Kat, she has a positive attitude always puts a smile on my face!

Just good honest burgers. The location on North Bell has been consistently good for years. No special weird and wacky stuff like the national chains, just good traditional burgers. I always get a bacon and cheese with fries and soda and it is always good. There is always someone new at the window and they are not always the happiest people, but the food is good. Catfish fridays is always good and certainly recommended as is the chicken and gravy if that’s your thing. A friend swears by their corndogs, I wouldn’t know. Their fries are really good too(when fresh). I would say their burgers are better than Sonic by long shot, on par with Whataburger… mmmaybe a wee bit better… Not really comparable to McDs or BK, those aren’t real burgers anyway. Can’t hold a candle Mighty Fine, but nothing can, so that’s not really an insult. Not much else to say, if you are a central Texan you know about Short Stop and this location is reliable when you want a sloppy burger with everything on it.

Went for the first time and it took 20 min for them to have my food ready. I have a newborn and she started to cry furiously in the back. I had no idea it would take so long to get fast food. As I was waiting for my food I was never told a total for my order, never asked for payment. There was no notice of payment options displayed anywhere. The food finally comes out and I have to tell the girl that I still have not paid yet. I could have driven off and they would have had no idea I had not paid. She says oh, ok and I hand her my Amex. It takes another 5 min for them to finally tell me they do not take Amex. I dig around and realize that is the only payment I have and ask them what my options are. Keep in mind the whole time my newborn is screaming in the back because this has taken so long. The only option they give me is to give back the food. I ask if I can call the payment in or come back later but no, they tell me I have to hand back the food after I have waited over 20 min. I do not have 20 min to spare at the moment with a crying newborn. I now have nothing to eat and no time to get anything to eat. I have to rush home to feed my baby and will not get a chance to eat again until hours later. Worst service I have ever experienced.

Not a big fast food fan but they are open late and any time of the day… or night rather I have gone they have been good. Line was a little slower than your average drive through but the food def is better so it is totally worth it.

I’ve been a Short Stop fan for years, like 15 maybe? I think it’s an Austin secret! This is the one I go to most. I was sad when the one in Georgetown vanished! They’ve never messed up an order here in Cedar Park for me. Fresh burgers & crispy fries every time! Great slushes too! My kids have ventured out to discover they like the chicken tenders and catfish as well. Nice friendly service. Not too bad to get a 1 ton crewcab dually in & out of. One of the guys there told me I looked«sexy“‘driving it once too…;-). Did I say CHEAP too?! Yes CHEAP. Better then McD’s, Whataburger, Wendy’s, In N Out– heck maybe even tops Mighty Fine… maybe!

I checked the online menu before driving over there. The menu says burgers come with fries. I ordered bacon cheeseburger, hamburger, and a cheeseburger. No drinks. Total came to 20.02. I told the young man I checked the menu and it didn’t seem like it should total that much. He said they charge for the bacon and the cheese. The burgers were good, but if it weren’t for my granddaughter, I would have driven off. No receipt either.

My first time here and loved it. Burgers were very good… My only request would to have sauteed peppers and onions. But good food for a good price. We will be back!!!

Man, why aren’t there more reviews of this place? On a whim I turned in here(was on the way to Whataburger) I just finished a real decent burger. Fresh lettuce, tomatoes, nice bread, good flavoured meat. Truly, if Philadelphia Collins ran an Austin-area burger hut, this would be it. Yep. Would eat again. Think the catfish is as good? We’ll have to see!

My family went their for dinner and ordered two number 1 combos and a couple of apple pies. The burgers were like hockey pucks, very dry and over cooked. Needless to say, we didn’t finish eating them. We were disappointed in the burgers. I remembered ShortStop burgers being much juicier… maybe it’s just that location. The Round Rock location had much tastier burgers. On the upside, the fries and apple pies were pretty good. Possibly they had an off night?

I’m not too sure why I like Short Stop, but I do. It prolly has something to do with the crack that they use in their grease and oil! I stopped by this location for lunch yesterday after a workout… talk about ironic. I don’t think I have ever seen this location busy. At most only one car in line. They are usually quick, but not because the food is waiting for you. They are so slow that they usually have to make it to order. I had the bacon cheeseburger combo. Price was low and the burgers here are better than your average fast food joint. BUT, you must like them a little on the greasy side. If that isn’t for you, then don’t pull in here. I like the fries here too. They have a flavor all their own. For those that have never been to Short Stop, it is drive through only. They do have a couple of picnic tables by the drive through. So, unless this is a REALLY cheap date, I would try someplace else. Bottom line, decent cheap burgers with grease included. Great hangover helper for sure. Bottom line: decent burgers at a cheap price with grease included. I’m sure that they are great for the queasy hangover stomach.
