One day last week, I happened to be in the area and needed something quick. I spotted this place and thought«What the heck» life is an adventure! So I headed for the Taqueria La Tapatia No 3. I arrived at an ‘off’ time mid morning. I was the only car in the drive thru. I was surprised that there was no menu or speaker box further back in line. When we arrived at the window the woman who worked there seemed annoyed that we didn’t already know what we wanted.(the menu board as I mentioned, is only viewable when sitting at the window). When we ordered it was apparent she had trouble with English language skills.(we did not know what many of the menu items were). As a result we stopped trying to ask questions. We chose a few breakfast tacos straight from the list. We did wait at least ten min after we ordered the tacos. I was guessing they were slow due to the late morning hour — but now reading the other reviewers I suppose it’s typical here. An interesting note is that there were many construction workers in and out, relatively quickly. I figured that meant the food would be tasty and since they were in and out quickly from inside — I thought the drive thru line would be faster.(It is not.) I noticed that all of them parked and went inside.(I think that is the secret. GOINSIDE.) The tacos were yummy and I think the tortillas seemed fresh — but since I don’t make tortillas I could be wrong.(They were nothing like those flat, dry, flour ones in big bags at HEB). They were thick and buttery. The pros: Tasty breakfast tacos at a good price. The cons: Long wait time for a drive thru. We did find it to be overly greasy. English was a barrier to communication. So, if you can plan ahead, go inside. Also — we will be better educated on the menu items before the adventure.

Today I took my wife and my mother for VDay breakfast. One star may be doing them a favor, they totally took her off the ball when it came to food quality. I ordered my potatoes extra crispy, and when they came they were white and runny and appeared to be boiled potatoes. Orders of bacon for nothing more than a fat, eggs were broken, tortillas were cold. I could go on with this review what’s the bottom line is It was just very bad. they’re only excuse was they had a new cook and they realized. We graciously told him we were going to another location and we were not billed for the mess that they put on the table.

To the owner of this restaurant, block the drive through if your not interested in serving the window. What a waste of my time! Was blocked in for 24 minutes, when I got to the window no one would take my order! I will stick to the standard JJ’s across 1431, they can get you in and out in 7 – 10 minutes and the Tacos are huge! So much for trying to patronize another local business.

Eaten breakfast here & lunch. Have always, always had great service. The waitresses are always nice, they smile, take your order & bring your food out promptly. After the food is served, they come by the table several times to refill drinks & check to see if everything is OK. Someone always greets you nicely when you come in & tells you«thank you & goodbye«when you leave. I’ve never eaten a bad meal here. It is decent food for the price and the service is great. Never been through the drive thru. The food is 3 star but the service makes it a 4 star.

As I continue my search for the best Al Pastor taco, I can tell you that I did not find it here. The one I ordered was pretty decent, but I can actually say that«I’ve had better.» However, I did find that Taqueria La Tapatia No.3 has a really good shrimp ceviche tostada. It came with a good amount of shrimp in the pico de gallo mixture, along with frsh slices of avocado, and more crackers and lemons than Carter has pills. I also ordered a small Mexican style shrimp cocktail, as I saw several people around me had ordered this. Again, very fresh, good size shrimp, with the perfect flavor of tomato/clamato, and onions and cilantro. My meal was very filling for $ 15, and I will definitely be back for the seafood. I’m glad I wondered into La Tapatia, I will continue my quest for the best Pastor taco!

Great food, but the hour long wait in the drive-thru is NOT worth it. We got here at 9:50am. It is now 10:55am and we are still waiting… You are trapped in the drive-thru line too because it is only one lane in between the building and a concrete barrier that meets the road(fm 1431). Once you get up to the window, you figure you waited in line long enough to where you feel the need to go ahead and order, only to wait even longer. I could have gone in and possibly had faster service! I have been watching people walk in and the same people come out already! The lady at the window was sweet and realizes that we are all waiting too long, which was nice. The food and sweet lady got the stars but the waiting was why it didn’t get 5 stars.
