Let me start out by saying every store has it flaws and most of the time its the employee that makes it or breaks it. My experience has been positive at Best Buy. I always give someone a chance to correct an issue before I jump. Best Buy in Cedar Rapids has been fair and has earned my business. Sometimes it is hard to find someone to help you but my mouth works just fine and speaking up has always got me the help I need. Sometimes when you walk in a store you just want to be left alone to browse, so I don’t mind asking for help when I need it. I find this much better than to be asked over and over and over again by 8 different employees if there’s anything they can do to help me find something. That isn’t to say I haven’t been asked at Best Buy because I have. My experience has been, they have been fair and have always wanted to fix any situation that I have had a concern with. Thank you Best Buy my business will continue to be with you.

Went in there to buy a simple GOPro. Same stories before stood there for about 20 minutes but now I stood there just to see how long it would take someone to help me. I was ignored and walk past several times never received help walked out of the store Amazon here I come Best Buy don’t be surprise when you’re out of business. Your geek squad knows nothing. Your customer support or customer care is the worst out of every Best Buy I’ve ever been to and it’s a shame that the competition is so low in Cedar Rapids that there’s no real reason for you to improve but it is an embarrassment to the franchise and will inevitably lead to its downfall.

I purchased 2 Samsung Galaxy 4s and a IPhone 5s… Spent over 500 dollars in the store. The Best Buy representative advised that I get a better insurance for my phones instead of Sprint. He informed me that my phone would be replaced if lost, stolen, or dropped. I specifically asked if it would be replaced with a brand new phone or refurbished one(since I had a similar experience with Sprint a month ago). He said it would be a brand new phone. So I said it would be well worth it(after my almost $ 500+ dollar purchase). I purchased the Geek Squad insurance for three phones paying 30 dollars a month for the past year and a half. Last week my Daughter cracked her screen. I took into Best Buy to have it checked out and replaced. They informed me the geek squad had changed the policy and I would have to pay $ 150.00 to replace the phone and put a $ 250.00 hold on my bank account while waiting for a refurbished phone to be sent to my house. I told them I did not know about their change in policy and it wasn’t the policy I signed. So he waved the $ 150.00 but said I still need to hold $ 250.00. Once again I explained that I didn’t sign that contract and I was unaware to the policy would replace it with a refurbished phone, what happened to the policy I sighed that would give me a replacement phone with a new phone? It seems like the Geek Squad representatives were very familiar with these complaints and did not seem to care whether they gave quality customer service or not. I really do hope there is a class action lawsuit against Best Buy. I am extremely disappointed with their service and policies.

I bought an Asus laptop with a newer processer for $ 450 and the windows apps wouldn’t work as well as sites such as facebook. so I took it back and excahnged it for a better name brand(Toshiba). This computer had the same issues, when I took it back to the store and got my appointment with the Geek Squad. They couln’t get the windows store to work at all either. Their suggestion was to wipe everything and start over again but they wanted to charge me another $ 100 for this when I had gotten this machine just two days prior. When I requested why this was the case from the manager on duty(Jeff) he first off never really understood the issue and didn’t seem at all techinal and refused to fix my issue at no cost. When I asked«when you get somthing from anyother retailer and it doesn’t work don’t you expect them to stand by their product» he didn’t have any good replies and isisted that if I wanted the issue fixed to give them more money since I didn’t want to buy their«geek squad» plan. This practice of selling lemons to people and asking the consumer to pay MORE to get it fixed could be fraudulant and at best is poor business. Please don’t waste your time at best buy, a week later and now I don’t have a computer to do my homework on.

I must say when I was a teenager I thought best buy was the most amazing place ever. Until I was about 17 and they f’d up my computer. Then again when I was 20 after they formed the geek squad and… They f’d up my computer again lol. I should have learned my lesson. I then bought a $ 4004 year protection plan and my tv broke in 2 years and they tried to replace it with a little piece of junk! They have a lot of inventory but I think that they have quantity over quality. You can get better prices at other stores and I would hate to say it… online. The staff is friendly but for the most part they don’t really know to much about what they are trying to sell you. Ok for CDs and DVDs but that’s about it.

Sh**ty customer service, and they did not honor their ad, therefore ripping me off over $ 100. I will NEVER shop at any Best Buy ever again as long as I live. I will continue to write bad reviews and never recommend anyone shop at this store. I don’t give my money to rude people who lie and don’t know how to treat their customers.

Big box store, lots of stuff at ok prices. Yeah, its got that. Under no circumstances wear a blue shirt to this place. Staff is so scarce on the floor that you will end up getting asked for help by people needing help from, oh I don’t know, perhaps people who actually work there. Don’t expect anything close to decent technical information on computers, TVs, or camera/camcorders. Do your research before you go. This Best Buy is pretty easy to get to, with good parking and being(mostly) stand-alone, there isn’t overflow parking bleeding into the lot.

Best Buy is just okay. I am not a huge technology type of girl, but Boyfriend is and even he doesn’t go there too often because he says he can get better deals other places. We recently went to get new phones that were on special and the screen protectors for them came at 20 bucks a pop! Boyfriend just found the same size screen protectors on Amazon for ONEDOLLAR for FIVE screen protectors. Lesson learned: do your research!

I always go to this Best Buy for everything. The only problem is when they are really busy on weekends you will have to wait to get help. That’s ok with me. There are always plently of employees asking if they can help you when you are shopping.

Was trying to buy a CD stereo for my truck and get it installed along with a few other things the guy helping me stopped helping me getting my info to help another customer instead of telling the customer that he would be with him after he was done helping me. I don’t care who you are but don’t be rude and cut in front of people at stores and if your the worker tell the other customer that you will be with them shortly. It’s not much to best buy to lose a $ 500 sell but they lost my business that day and maybe for good!
