Anne Bonny’s Waxing Studio Plus

This was my second or third visit for lash extensions, and it won’t be my last. LOVED my experience each time because of the timely way I get in and get out, the cleanliness, friendliness, price and the finished product. My lashes look amazing and never «cheesy»! I always get tons of compliments. They last and stay in place at least a couple weeks with gentle care/​following care instructions. This last time was for my wedding ceremony and they were perfect! No need for makeup. Parking is good/​free, if not behind the building, an easy walk to the next street over. Thank you so much!!!

I have been getting my brazilians here for years and they always do a great job! Prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly!

Hands down the best massage I’ve ever had! Danyiel is amazing. The best hour I’ve had in a while. The stones, music and atmosphere I would go there every weekend! I can’t wait to book my next massage! And the facial was phenomenon. My fave felt like a baby’s butt afterwards! Danyiel is the absolute best!!!

I’ve heard good and bad about lash extensions and decided to be the judge and find out for myself, I’m glad I did! Jenn is awesome! For a quick 1 hour my lashes are luscious and I’m feeling and looking fabulous. I usually nap on the lounger while I am getting them done. It’s really relaxing and they even cover you up with a blanket. If you take good care of them they can last over a month without needing a refill. The prices are very reasonable. It’s sometimes hard to catch a person on the phone to make an appointment but if you leave a message for an appointment they always confirm back and can get you in. I’d highly recommend!

Went in for a lip sugar wax. Decided to try a new place since it was cheaper, $ 10 vs $ 15 at other salons… huge mistake! Anne was friendly and joked, but she was was so rough while waxing that I now have a huge carpet burn on one side from excessive pulling. Peach fuzz looks better than this! It was very painful and she seemed rushed. Also, she does NOT make her own sugar wax and she charged me $ 12 vs the $ 10 on the website. You’ve been warned.

Love this place! Jen the owner always does an amazing job on my eyebrows (I’m very specific about how my eyebrows look) and she always makes them gorgeous! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I have only been to this salon once, to get my eyebrows threaded. In the past I’ve had my eyebrows done by an Indian woman who first did it out of her home, and then opened her own salon by where my family lives. She does an exceptional job so I was hesitant to try elsewhere. But also sick of plucking and trying to figure out how best to shape them myself. Since waxing is a no-​go for my skin, I bit the bullet and came here. The salon was very nice, and all the areas I saw were immaculately clean. They were also able to fit me in on short notice. Prices were reasonable. Parking was a pain, and I had a hard time finding it at first because they are the second floor and their sign is on the smaller side. They are above a clothing boutique on a strip right before the big ‘Helping Kids With Cancer’ Thrift store (probably the easiest landmark).
Annette was the one who threaded my eyebrows, and she was very friendly and conversational. However if you have thick eyebrows, you may want to schedule your threading with a different person. She shaped them very nicely, a bit on the thin side from what I normally have but I didn’t specify to her one way or another before she did them, so I have no complaints on that. However, she also ended up threading too close to the skin and causing a couple small abrasions that actually bled and scabbed over and gave me a painful stung whenever I moved my eyebrows too much for a couple days afterward.
Again, my rating strictly pertains to the threading, as that’s the only service I’ve had here — I can’t speak for the waxing or otherwise. I think I may try to get my eyebrows done here one more time but with Jen, who seems to have the most experience with it according to their site. If/​when I do I will update my rating and review.

I’ve had facials from Jen & Danyiel, both do an amazing job! Jen has done brow threading for me & is very thorough! The place has a great feel!

I had made an appointment for my sister and I to get Brazilian waxes and mani-​pedis the day before her wedding. My wax was done by Danielle, and it was not the best that I’ve received. She missed a few spots. My sister’s wax was done by Annette, and my sister said it was done very well.
The reason I’m giving one star is for the nails. My sister had gel nails put on and had a pedicure. By that evening, one of the nails had broken and the polish was peeling off. This was the night before her wedding. My sister ended up crying and having to go to the mall to get her nails fixed.
I had gel polish put on my nails. When it’s done properly, the polish should last a week or two. After three days, my nails were chipping.
If you want a wax, go to Anne Bonny’s. If you need your nails done, go anywhere else.

I happened upon this place after visiting the thrift store next door. Danyiel is amazing! Had eyebrow waxing done– she was meticulous, and deftly dealt with my difficult eyebrows. I was so happy, I booked a facial with her for the next day. It was the most relaxing, luxurious experience – and her hand and shoulder massage was amazing. She also thoughtfully educated me on types of facial products that I should use going forward to maintain the glow she gave me. There was no pressured sales pitch to buy products. What a breath of fresh air!

I need to update my review from four stars, to five. The owner, Jen, is AWESOME!!! The place was so clean, smelled great, and had an awesome vibe to it this morning with the cool jams rockin’. This will be the only place I will ever go to get waxed in Charleston.

Gentlemen. yes MEN! The ones that love to take care of themselves. I moved here from Califronia two weeks ago and I was devestated I needed to start fresh nad find a new Eyebrow person/​place and a new Hairstylist. still havent found that yet but as far as Eyebrows. THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Yes parking is a bitch BUT worth it. I got helped and taken care of by Annette. Who is simply amazing. I explained to her what I wanted and she gave it to me and more. My eyebrows look amazing and she now has a permenante client. I will not go anywhere else. The service is impecable and the place is clean and nice. Annette, was very gracious she had awesome customer service and we talked the whole time and laughed. Please support this business as its a hidden gem and I feel it doesnt get the attention it deserves.

I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time by Annette and she did an awesome job shaping my annoying, uneven brows. I was only in Charleston on vacation so I had a slightly difficult time finding this place, but it was worth the trip for sure and next time I am in town, I will schedule another appointment. I will suggest that if you don’t know exactly where the studio is located to ask for specific directions and parking directions and don’t just rely on your GPS. Making U-​turns on Hwy 17 is not easy or recommended!

With day spas cropping up all over the place, it’s hard to know where to go… I’ve been to the 5 top spas in the area (high ratings and even higher prices) and have never been so pleased as I was with Anne Bonny’s. The atmosphere is a little funky – which shows some character when compared to the impersonal decorator-​of-​the-​month décor sported by competitors. The menu of services is very thorough, but sticks to the basics – hair removal, facials, and massage. The staff are truly skilled, professional, but also very personable. The combination makes for a comfortable envionment with likeable staff that you can trust to provide exceptional service at a reasonable price.
I won’t be going anywhere else.
