Here you will find good times, wonderful drinks, good food and good people. It can get crowded in there but as the night progresses it only gets better. If your hungry try one of there specials or the cheeseburger tacos. Yum! Great list of speciality drinks. And if your lucky to witness it on a special night called lunacy, your in for a awesome treat!

Finally. I have found my mecca. Voodoo Tiki Bar is just the right amount of weird and I love it. This place is something else. Every other tiki bar I’ve been to has been decorated in Hawaiian motif. Voodoo, however, is decorated in velvet Elvis, Jesus, pleather, and cheetah print. It’s definitely one of the more eclectic and out there dive bars I’ve ever been to. The tiki drinks are expensive but well worth the money. Sorry for spilling my first one on the bar… and thank you for not charging me for it. Having consumed about 20 mai tais thus far in 2016, I feel like somewhat of a connoisseur of the drink. This one was legit — very tasty and strong for $ 10. We went on a Thursday at dinner time, and I can’t wait to come back on a weekend to experience this place in full force for dinner, drinks, and DJ. Aloha y’all!

Great place to stop by for a late night bite with drinks! Kitchen is open until 1 am, and the tacos are delicious(and huge). Our bartender Truman was great, so friendly and helpful in giving us recommendations on what’s good since we were just passing through the area for one night. Great music, and casual environment. We’ll definitely come back.

We stopped in here for after dinner drinks only so can’t comment on the food(but the dishes that came out smelled and looked good). Voodoo is a divey bar that has an intimate yet lively vibe. They have a selection of tiki drinks — I ordered the strawberry jalapeño tequila and it was the perfect amount of spicy and refreshing. The music they play here is so good! Lots of throwback 90s.

I would have given 5 stars but our waitress was rude and slow. They weren’t too busy, so I’m not sure what the issue was but our party all got their food at separate times. She definitely acted like she hated her job and didn’t want to be there. Other than that we all had an awesome time! Great food & drinks and the music was awesome!

One of our favorite bars in Charleston! Best place to dance on the weekend in Avondale. Their specialty drinks are delicious — the Mai Tai is my favorite! At $ 10 each they aren’t cheap, but you probably shouldn’t drink too many of these in one night anyway! The bar itself has eclectic tiki décor — great vibes. The bartenders here have always been top notch. Service never disappoints!

Great little place for locals. I could see myself hanging here more if I lived closer. Love the décor. Staff is very friendly. Food looks and taste great.

I love this funky little joint! The cocktails are crazy and fun(think flaming volcano cocktail with 8 straws) and the menu is diverse and has something for everyone. Ive been here a bunch of times but this is my first check in. For drinks you gotta try the Horney Monkey and for food. go nuts! Ive never had a bad thing. This time we had the truffle tots, lamb-a-dilla(like a greek quesadilla) and the Asian spring rolls. The ambiance is fun and cool the music is 90’s and loud. If youre hanging out in Avondale, this is a place you have to hit. On this evening 4 drinks and 3 apps was $ 61, but we were drinking their specialty cocktails so they were more expensive.

An eclectic cozy dark dive bar. I fell in love with the place when I walked in. Part of me felt like I had walked onto the set of a teen TV vampire show. They have a full bar, but specialize in tiki drinks and infused shots. The pecan pie bourbon shot is a must — liquid dessert. They also have a bar menu of various food options. The tots are addictive. My friend highly recommended them, as did the bouncer as the best thing on the menu. The tots were so good that I completely forgot to take a picture! Believe me, that doesn’t happen often! The place was packed on a Friday night, and we stood near the bar area. They do have a lot of seating and private booths.

Voodoo is a great spot to go for drinks and snacks! They have comfortable seating and booths. It’s good for an after work drink or a late night cocktail/snack. The tater tots are a must have!

Loved it! Cool place, was very busy but the bartender knew what she was doing and kept up. Great drinks. Strawberry jalapeño tequila with a splash of pineapple was amazing!!! Will definitely be returning, very excited to have such an awesome place right down the road!

As we live in West Ashley, this is one of our go-to spots. Of all tiki joints we’ve hit nation-wide, this is a perfect combination of not-to-fussy, not too self-indulgent, but with an emphasis on authentic, boozy, TASTY tiki drinks. The atmosphere is a bit vintage, a bit dive, and a bit of intrigue, read: perfect for sipping a plantar’s punch or a real piña colada. Note: it will not taste like a piña colada from a chain restaurant — rightly so. In context, the food is great. The tacos and lumpia are worth writing home about, and even the hummus(with goat cheese mixed in) is better than is to be expected for this type of joint. Prices on food and booze are very reasonable, especially since the cocktails are hefty. The only two negatives I can think of are(1) that the crowd changes dramatically throughout the course of an evening, and on any particular day. Not to say there’s anything wrong with the variety of crowds, but in one sitting you may be in a nice dim cocktail bar with 30-somethings getting off work, sipping and chatting… which transitions to a dive, with scenesters and cool music blasting… and then, to close out the night, you might find yourself in a raging dance party. And(2), parking is a disaster in all of Avondale. We typically walk, but the few times we’ve driven and tried to park on a Thursday-Saturday it became a headache. Finally, as a suggestion, it would be cool(and I admit a bit fussy) if they had a cool selection of sipping rhums, in addition to the solid cocktail rums and tequilas already available.

If I lived closer, I think Voodoo would quickly become one of my regular spots. It’s got a local charm in the dark and quiet setting with plenty of seating: bar and private booths, and you can’t beat the classic beats coming from the stereo. They had a flounder taco special on our visit [a Sunday night] which we ordered along with a piña colada and a draft beer. It’s surprising that a bar like Voodoo serves up food, it’s convenient, but based on the dish we tried, I would skip food next time. Not only did my clothes reek of fried foods from standing too close to the fryer [oops!], the ‘open’ kitchen is located directly next to the bar area. It might be hard to say no to those fryer smells, but the fish tacos lacked basic flavor and were very«thrown together». The drinks on the other hand, other than being a little pricier, were great. Of course, you can’t go wrong with local draft beer, but the piña colada is served in a glass pineapple cup, with lid and bendy straw [it’s the little things that matter!] Do note, if you sit at one of the booths, you will have a server, so wait to order your drinks until you’re sure you know where you’re going to sit.

I’ve never eaten at Voodoo(unfortunately), but their drinks were pretty good(when made correctly). It can get super packed at the bar, which means long waits for service. The atmosphere is fun and the sitting area is awesome. The absolute worst thing about Voodoo for me is that the entire place smells like the food fryer.

Voodoo is one of my favorite spots in town for drinks, food, vibe, and music. First of all, I love the dim lighting and chilled-out ambience. You walk in and it just feels welcoming. They have a great drink menu, and check the board above the bar for specials. They have infused liquors and the pecan pie bourbon is delicious. As for food, the menu isn’t huge but I still have a difficult time picking what I want, because everything on the menu is SO good. I’ve been to Voodoo dozens of times, but tonight, my wife and I split the red curry coconut wings, steakhouse tacos, and white bean sliders with tots. The wings might be the best wings in Charleston, but they have some heat to them. I usually get the steakhouse tacos because they’re absolutely fantastic. My wife is a huge fan of the white bean sliders, so she enjoyed those as always. All in all, Voodoo is one of my favorite spots to eat or grab a drink in Charleston. They used to have live salsa music and salsa lessons on Sunday, but those ended recently. Even when there isn’t live music, the music they play throughout the restaurant is always appropriate to the vibe that Voodoo offers. If you’re reading this, just try Voodoo out, and it probably won’t be your last time there.

I seriously cannot believe I have never been here before. This place is off the hook! Went on a Monday when the typical happy hour specials are available all day long. ½ off gourmet tacos. You get 2 tacos with each order. Tacos typically run $ 7 – 8. Your getting two for half the price – hell yeah. Ended up trying the Red curry chicken tacos and the BBQ duck tacos. They were both delish, but the red curry chicken tacos were the star for me. The BBQ duck was a little on the dry side, and the chicken wasnt the most tender, but the red curry sauce paired with the pineapples and peppers made the chicken tacos for me. It was so good. On top of the food specials, they have half off house liquors. Fleischmann’s was the house gin. Not bad, not my favorite, but of course it all depends on your bartender. What a cool chic! I wish I got her name, but she was so awesome. Friendly, funny, and she made a killer G&T. I will definitely be coming back to the West Ashley location. Great specials, good food, but it’s the people you know? The bartender made this place for me. You know your in a good spot when you hear your bartender say to herself«I love this place.»

This bar is so cool. We were in charleston on vacation, but met up with some friends who live here. They took us to Voodoo for some drinks. We split a voodoo bowl, which is basically a giant bowl full of liquor and juice with a flaming shot of Bacardi 151 in the center. It’s not something you drink on your own. Its $ 23 for this giant liquor bowl, which is totally fair considering what you get. It wasn’t super flavorful, but it gets the job done. The real winner for me was the table top smores. They bring a little burner to your table with enough ingredients to make 4 smores. You roast the marshmallows yourself and the build the smores how you like them. We added peanut butter and bacon because why not… and oh boy was it awesome. I would love to have stayed here a while and maybe tried some other food. On our next visit we are definitely going to come for dinner! Highly recommend this place for its atmosphere and awesome drink selection.

I have been going to Voodoo since they first opened and it is one of my go to happy hour places in West Ashley. It’s cozy and is really laid back. You can’t beat half price tacos during HH and $ 2 beers — BBQ Duck, Baja Shrimp, Bacon Cheeseburger are some of my favorites. The duck club is also really good and you have to get a side of truffle tots or get them as an app to split — they are so delicious. On a night out, especially with a group, it is always fun to get a big ol’ specialty tiki drink(or two) to split — race to see who finishes! It is more fun than just doing shots, ha.

If there are two things you must try at any bar in town it’s the Mai Tai and the truffle tots –tater tots tossed in white truffle oil– at VooDoo. *And yes, they do go great together* They also have an eclectic menu full of tiki drinks that will have you feeling like you are far away from that crappy day you just had. You are going to pay a little more but that’s only because they use fresh juice for these drinks… totally worth it. If tropical isn’t your thing, try one of their many infused liquors and I’m talking way more than just vodka. Have a bite to eat while you’re there too. Toker is brilliant in the kitchen and always coming up with new ideas. If you’re undecided on what to get, try the duck. You’ll never go wrong with the duck. With a bar staff that is always smiling, great music and an overall good vibe, VooDoo is one of my favorite bars any night of the week!
