What a lovely place. We stopped in just as the owner was closing down, she was gracious enough to stay open so my guys and I were able to have lunch on such a cold day. The food was just wonderful and the conversation was lovely. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to support a small business run but a wonderful lady.

After exploring Bunker Hill, this was exactly what we needed. Everything is made fresh after you order, so don’t plan on getting in and out quickly(unless you call ahead). But portions are huge and fairly priced. Plus, the taste is exceptional and the service is friendly. We had a turkey and cheese sub, an eggplant and chicken sub, the eggplant ziti, and a stromboli.

This was a great stop after climbing Bunker Hill monument. I would recommend it to anyone(especially the homemade meatball sub). The owner was very nice and has a lively personality. It’s very quaint. Great if you are looking for a small local place!

Every week I pick up dinner for my family at Family Kitchen. The food is fabulous and the owners are accommodating and friendly. There are lots of daily specials and take out dinners, my favorites are the meatballs and eggplant parmesan.

Don’t go here. Normally I’d feel bad writing a negative review for a small family-owned business, but I suspect this place is a just a front for some other business operation, so the owners probably won’t mind. In fact, they’d probably be happy if no one came here at all. I suspect this place is a front because it doesn’t seem to be open very often, and when it is, the people working there don’t seem to know how to operate a sandwich shop. For example, today I called them at 10 of 3 to see if they were still open. The guy who picked up told me they were open until 3 and would still be open if I ran over there. When I got there, there were a bunch of people waiting for their food. A young lady in front of me attempted to order an italian sub and the guy at the counter said«I don’t know whether we have any more bread. Give me 2 minutes and I’ll check and see.» Obviously this information would have been useful when I talked to this guy on the phone, given the fact that 90% of their menu consists of sandwiches. I decided to wait the«2 minutes» and ended up watching the man finish making four other people’s orders in front me, cash them out etc. This took about 15 minutes. During that 15 minutes a few other people had walked in, apparently hoping to place an order. As the man cashed out the fourth guy and was about to make three sandwiches for someone that had ordered before I’d gotten there, someone asked if he was going to check and see how much bread was left. Only then did the guy tell us that there was only 1 roll left. I think we’d all been under the impression that he was going to have to leave and go into another room or something to figure out how much bread was left, but actually the bread cabinet was sitting about 10 feet away from him the entire time. So we all left, except for the guy who walked in last, who was like«don’t mind if I do» and ordered a sandwich using the last piece of bread. If this place is in fact a front, I sincerely hope the owners do a much better job running their real business, because this is easily one of the worst-run eateries I’ve encountered.

We were out walking and found this place by accident. We went in because there was a sign in the window saying they were voted«best sandwich 2012» by the local newspaper. Glad we did, really great food! Everything was homemade. Friendly staff, clean, reasonably priced.

Great food here. The owner seems very nice and willing to work with you on what you want or need. Great small business. Awesome steak tips, salad and roasted potatoes. Can’t wait to try some of the Italian stuff… friends have been raving about it!!! I guess they have delivery a few days a week!

This is a family owned and run little sub shop in the old location of the amazing Lori Ann’s Donut Shop! This place has great subs and salads and very friendly staff! They have specialty cold cuts and cheeses also they have great pies and cakes that you can order a week or so before a holiday or special event. They also will delivery to local small companies if you have a large order. Also, call ahead and pick up a large order! They are in a hidden little spot next to the liquor store and the nail salon on the corner of Bunker and Green. They have a huge glass display window with all sorts of cold cuts and cheeses. Then on the right they have bar type stools and deli style small counter for you to eat with. It defiantly is a take out place that if you need to eat there you are more than welcome to.
