Atlas is a quaint little coffee shop on the end of JPA which I’ve passed by a million times but never tried. Now that I’ve gone I think I’ve been missing out all those times. Their lattes are great and I saw a sign that said they serve brazos tacos(which are THE best tacos in the area)!! Super limited seating and parking though as a heads up.

This is my favorite coffee shop. The staff is wonderfully warm, the pastries are delicious, and their coffee is fantastic. Their homemade vanilla syrup uses real vanilla bean. Great neighborhood spot.

Cute little coffee shop. Nothing fancy and gets the job done. Perfect thing to do when waiting for my laundry to finish. Great Macchiato.

They provide water for dog customers. The staff are friendly and they gave me a little dog treat biscuit. My master said the iced coffee was excellent. We will definitely return. Richard M.

Love coffee shops like this. Im a kentucky local and decided to stop and try it out, the spinich and feta tart was amazing, and the latte is way better than youd get from any popular chain cafes. Will stop in again on my next visit to charlottesville.

Cozy local coffee place off of Fontane and the end of JPA. It’s a small coffee bar with seating along the counter and a petite outdoor patio. There is a small parking lot in the front so on busy days, drive around back to find a space. So far, I’ve tried the iced mocha and really liked the thick mocha flavor mixed with the espresso. It blends nicely when the ice begins to melt so it isn’t too strong of either flavor. The pastry selection is something I appreciate because from time to time they’ll offer amazing croissants stuffed with ham and Gruyère, or spinach and feta. Delicious.

There’s nothing like visiting a new shop and being greeted by the owner waving you inside. I was immediately happy stepping into the small shotgun of a store with its prominent bar and only one inside table. The odors were that of fresh baked goods and a fresh brew. I sat down and ordered a cappuccino and was told that hot muffins were about to come out and I’d be remiss not to try one. I of course accepted, choosing a blueberry. It was delicious and I will be back tomorrow.

Delicious, friendly, quick(on a weekday morning!), and absolutely delightful. Try the paleo bites — so good! All of the pastries are great, and the staff and owners are as nice and wonderful as it gets.

First time here. I was warmly welcomed as soon as I walked through the door and the service was fast. Not much seating inside but I didn’t have to wait too long for a seat at the bar. As I sat there, I watch the barista bake carrot cake. The smells filled the tiny Java shack and it was torturous having to wait for a bite! Great music. Friendly people. Cozy vibes. Delicious coffee! Highly recommend!

This place is the best. One of the most intimate and inviting coffee shops I’ve ever been in. The coffee«bar» set up lends itself to easy conversation. Coffee was pretty good, not the best I’ve had, but definitely worth the awkward parking situation. I’ve only been there a couple of times but almost every time half of the customers in there were regulars who had good relationships with the baristas. That’s always a good sign!

Great coffee and baked goods. Way better than other local and chain places for a quick brew or meet a friend. I do agree seating isn’t great, but the fare makes it a must for at least a stop in. It may be hard to find for some as it is tucked next to Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, another good place for lunch or dinner.

Best coffee shop in Charlottesville; maybe the world. If you support local business and enjoy coffee, this is your haven. Husband and wife owners make everything themselves, from the lattes to the homemade(and ridiculously delicious) flavor syrups! You haven’t experienced life until you’ve had an Atlas vanilla latte with house-made vanilla syrup that was made that day.

LOVE the coffee drinks here, atmosphere is nice too. They make their own vanilla which I think is amazing. The only downfall is they are a little pricey, cost more than Starbucks, but other than that no complaints.

The latte was a bit on the milky side for me. Good coffee otherwise.

I’m a big fan of Atlas. It’s been nice to see a coffee shop with a neighborhood feel and a clientele of regulars grow up in Fry’s Spring. They offer warm service and excellent coffee, and the pastries are also delicious. The bacon-egg-caramelized-onion tart and the ham-and-cheese croissant are both winners. Not a ton of seating, but I’ve never had trouble finding a spot at the bar. If it were open past 2 p.m., it’d be nearly perfect.

I’ve become a weekday regular for the awesome expresso and pastries baked on site. A great place owned by 2 friendly couples. Reminds me of Italian expresso bar scenes where you can mingle with the other regulars.

Stopped in during my visit to VA after it was recommended by a friend. They have good coffee, reasonable prices and has some nice outdoor seating. Apparently their iced coffees are brewed at 150% concentration to make up for the melting ice, so don’t be afraid of a watered down iced latte! I definitely recommend.
