Have to agree with Otto. I’ve been hearing about Bobby Chez for soooo long, so I had to try it… Well I wish I can go into the hot tub time machine and get my hour as well as my money back. I had the worst crab cake ever! It was filled with an unknown substance and was very small. The seasoned fries were boring and filled up most of the take out plate. The cole slaw had extra mayo yet it was the best thing on the plate. But I did not go there for the cole slaw. None of the food in the display case looked appealing. I was unimpressed with the pre-packaged cocktail sauce and tarter sauce. The plastic fork, knife and napkin combo pack reminded me of day camp. The other surrounding eating establishments offered outdoor seating. Bobby Chez did not.

I’ve been hearing how great Bobby Chez crab cakes were, for years. Tonight I thought I’d try them out. Worst crab cake I ever had. It was tasteless not to mention small. If you want a good crab cake, go to the Diamond Diner down Rt.38 towards Mt. Holly. Two large cakes with 2 sides plus a drink and salad for about $ 6 less than just two cakes and two sides at Chez. Also the cakes are twice the size. The people that write here about how great this place is, apparently have never had a good crab cake.

First time here. Had to try the mini crab cakes, but also ordered the fried scallops basket(fries and coleslaw). The mini crab cakes were good, but because they put so many other flavors(onions, peas, cream, etc) in there to bind it together, it was hard to taste the crab. If you like scallops, you gotta try their fried scallops. The best dish. The scallops where big. Breading was nice and crispy. Let cool before you eat!

Warning: This is not a cheap take-out place! However, if you want quality seafood this is the place to go! I love their crab cakes, but especially love their seafood salad. Try their coleslaw, it’s the best I’ve ever had. It’s definitely a treat to go here for great quality!

Decent food. Came here for lunch. Most patrons order food from here to take home to cook, but I’m in town for business, so I decided to have the Bobby Chez fully cooked food. The mini crab cakes special was good but I’ve have had better crab cakes though.

I went to Bobby Chez after wanting to try them out for years. I walked into their Cherry Hill location, which is in an odd spot, and upon entering the restaurant(not really sure you can really call it that), was surprised to see all the awards and photos of Bobby Chez on the wall. I know that many places are proud of their awards/accomplishments, but this guy seems to be bathing in immense amounts of self-congratulatory glory. That alone ups that bar for his signature crab cakes. With high expectations I ordered one crab cake, crab macaroni and cheese, and onion rings. Since this is more of a take out place, you order at the counter and just take your food to go, or eat in at the select number of tables inside the store(as I did). The crab cakes are somewhat expensive, but they are«Bobby Chez» crab cakes, so they must be amazing right? Not the case. I was completely unimpressed by the crab cakes, considering the price paid. I was not wowed and thought there was way more breading/filler than actual crab. The crab cakes were also over cooked and lacked flavor. The macaroni and cheese was just ok. The onion rings were the highlight of my lunch, which is not saying much considering that I came here for the crab, not the onion. Blah. Huge disappointment for a place that is touted as being the best crab cake producer in the area. Would I return to Bobby Chez? I would have to say no. I would much rather go to Loupy’s in Marlton(a few miles away), which also serves expensive crab cakes, but with more actual lump crab meat and less filler.

The food is okay. Only tasted the shrimp. Don’t eat crab, so I need to try something else there. Stay tuned.

Fabulous crab cakes! Crispy-crunchy on the outside and nice moist lumpy inside. Can’t wait to have another. The flavor is great, one of the best I ever had.

Incredible shrinking crab cakes. They are incredibly good. I visit here once or twice a year and usually come to Bobby Chez’ for crab cakes. I just remember them like almost softball size. Now they are hardly hardball size. Now that Bobby has found success is he following the lead of so many other companies that cut the portion and maintain the price? It is great stuff though but not cheap to get those big lumps of crab meat.

Fantastic. Yes the crab cakes are great. But even my land loving family loves the chicken fingers, pot pie and everything. Lobster mashed potatoes a must. Everything and I mean everything is good here. No make that excellent.

Not just a jumbo lump crab cake, their side dishes are all good. You can’t eat in. This is just order and take-out only.
