LOVETHISPLACE. People are always nice. Good food, atmosphere, craft beer and wine. Sit at the bar to eat, too. Very very nice people. I just wish it was in a nicer location. This place would be perfect in Warwick! I’d love to bring friends when they are up visiting from the city, etc. There is no walking or «cute village» around Christopher’s. Only let down. But, we still come and I do recommend!

Best home-made turkey burger and home-made potato chips ever! Our waitress, Ann, is awesome. She is fun-loving and very professional. Our food came out in a timely fashion and was delicious! We’re excited we found a new go-to place for lunch on our way from NYC to Lakewood, PA. The perfect spot!

The food was good, but not top quality either. Tasty. Definitely recommend ordering the home-made chips over their french fries. The experience was pleasant. Service was helpful and polite. My glass never ran out of water. Free wifi. We were five people and the place was fairly empty, but we still waited around 25 minutes(not too bad). Over all a decent lunch, I would probably come back if I passed through Chester again.

Needed some food after stopping by Rushing Duck brewery. This place was recommended and had a nice bar and eating area. Located in a little shopping center with plenty of parking. Kind of empty, but it was just starting to get dark and more people started coming in. Wait staff was attentive. Food was OK. Tostados were pretty good. House burger was average.

I use Unilocal all the time, but this is my first Unilocal review, and boy what a review Christopher’s Bistro will get! From opening the door, we were greeted with great ambiance, legendary music, and a greeter whose smile was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Talk about first impression. Our waitress was Cennia who was one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had. She also had an amazing smile and was very attentive to us, asking us from the getgo whether we were going to share our meals. Saying yes, Cennia promptly gave us extra plates. Service was prompt and Cennia got my mom the Bistro martini(what a fitting way to end a James Bond movie), which was«very good», as per mom. Food was phenomenal. We had the fra diavlo seafood pasta and the goat cheese salad. Their seafood pasta was one of the best I’ve ever had. Also, the goat cheese salad was terrific and a great complement to the pasta. Cennia got us our checks quickly and gave us one of her warmest smiles. I would definitely hope that you can get the pleasant experience of having Cennia as your server. Like what one user said, don’t let the fact that Christopher’s is in a strip mall deter you! This is surely one of the gems of Chester.

Driving back from Binghamton back to the city, and needed a place right off 17 with some good grub. Unilocal delivers with all the recommendations for this place! The seafood fra diavolo was perfectly prepared with the seafood not overdone and the sauce with just the right amount of spice. The half portion was plenty! My two kids had the cheeseburger and pasta Alfredo and I had to try both. Both dishes prepared as if they were for adults– and that’s an excellent thing! Prices very reasonable and I would make another stop here again absolutely.

We stumbled upon Christopher’s when dropping our oldest son off at West Point. The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the front(it’s in a strip mall in a small NY town), but we were wonderfully surprised with the atmosphere once we went in! The staff was awesome, they really knew their menu and offered beverage pairings. My very picker of an eater younger son ordered the NY strip and he STILL won’t stop talking about it(3 months later — hence this Unilocal review). It was the best steak he had ever had he recently went to Walt Disney World and ate at one of their hard to get into fine dining establishments which couldn’t even compare to the one he ate at Christopher’s. My burger was ah-mazing by the way. Let’s just say this, I might consider staying in Chester, NY again just to eat at Christopher’s Bistro. Yah, it’s that good.

I like the calamari and other appetizers. Most dinners here have been mediocre. My last dish of seafood scampi was flavorless and watered down. I recommend this place for appetizers and not dinner.

I realized I only write reviews when I dislike a place so I figured I would highlight my favorite places for once. Christopher’s is amazing! The service is always on point. Very friendly wait staff, hostess and bartenders. When you call to make a reservation they always ask if it’s for a special occasion. And I recommend making a reservation because it’s always busy. The food is fresh and cooked to perfection. I recommend the apple and brie panini, the calamari, the burgers are amazing, the salmon is amazing and the appetizers are so good. You will not be disappointed when you go there! The prices are also reasonable. I see some people think it’s expensive but when you get great quality you should be happy to pay for a great meal. Not every place you go to in Manhattan has great food but you pay an arm and a leg.

The food is extremely good but holy hell is it expensive for this area. Also, the owner/manger would not come to my table when I asked them to after I saw them in the restaurant. Who knows. Even though I love the food I don’t go there a lot because I like nice people and I wait until I get into Manhattan to pay prices like that.

Fantastic food and good portions. Awesome beer menu(get the flight of beer). Service was very good. Very attentive. They have food options perfect for a romantic date but also for a birthday celebration.

Love the design inside and the chef is spot on! The service is great. The restaurant seems more for adults but actually we take our special needs daughter and we all feel so comfortable there she enjoys it there too. Great job

A gem we stumbled on while looking to burn time in Chester… ya — who burns time in Chester? Anyway, very glad we stuck our heads in. The atmosphere is casual with a solid beer list. Live music some nights from what I could tell(we were there for a Thursday night live jazz… and I like a good bass strumming. The burgers are huge with a solid layer of quality toppings and very good fries. My tacos were on point as well. From the crowd and waiting line, you can tell they are known in the community for quality.

My friends and I have recently started a Salad Club and were looking to get together for healthy dinner. We chose Christopher’s after looking at the menu on line(lists some nice salad varieties) and found that it was open on Monday nights. We started with the an appetizer special — Ahi Tuna Tacos and they were delicious! The only complaints were about the horseradish — but that was from the couple that didn’t like spicy. For the rest — they were excellent. We all ordered salads — and each one was perfect! The serving size was just right, the greens nice and fresh and the dressings were not over done and everyone loved their meals. The service was impeccable! Friendly and attentive — our glasses were replaced with fresh full ones as the started to become empty. They made an awesome first impression on us as the food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the prices were right! We will definitely be back!

Similar to the other reviews, I would not have given Christopher’s a second look while driving by. A decent restaurant in a strip mall? Absolutely! We chose Christopher’s after looking at the poor Unilocal reviews for Barnsider and deciding to search another option. We went to a performance at Sugar Loaf Performing Arts center and wanted dinner after somewhere close. We ordered calamari as an appetizer… very good and crispy. The menu stated Fra Diavlo sauce, but it really wasn’t spicy. Good though. I ordered the pan seared duck breast with apple-marscapone risotto. Awesome. The risotto was cooked perfectly and the addition of apple and marscapone was very interesting. My husband ordered the pork medallion special and it was also very good. My kids ordered the chimichurri burger and warm goat cheese salad respectively, and were both happy. The restaurant is rather small, so I would suggest reservations, especially on the weekend. The service, btw… is top notch. Our waitress made sure we had everything we needed at all times, and so did the other waitresses who had nothing to do with our table. Super friendly! Definitely a place I would go back to.

Don’t let this strip mall location fool you! This place is great! Everything was delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. They have a little bit of everything– lamb, duck, pasta, wings, burgers, salads, you name it! I loved my French Onion Soup and side salad. Perfect meal after a day of apple picking! My friends raved about the lamb lollipops. I don’t do lamb so I couldn’t tell ya, but they all liked it! Burgers and fries were good too. We really loved the draft beer selection and the service was super friendly and helpful!

This is one of those places where you just can’t judge the book by it’s cover. The place looks so ordinary, you almost don’t see it. Like an invisible restaurant only seen by those with special foodie glasses? In a strip mall? Incongruent is what I say. Even inside is nice, but kinda ho hum. I had the bean burger. YUMMMMer. The patty is breaded and deep fried. I know, it basically takes all the healthy out of it, but it adds in a bunch of magical wonderfulness. Yes. I said magical. I tried to even out the score for healthy with a side of vegetables… which where really yummy. No over cooked who cares about broccoli preparation here. Hell yes, let the broccoli sing. So if you are in the neighborhood picking up some raw milk or tracker parts stop on by. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped in for dessert based on Unilocal reviews. Will return for dinner! Well-executed desserts. Ordered 4(1 per person). I would say that 1 of the 4(the cobbler) was spectacular and memorable, the rest were of high quality, but not necessarily memorable. I think I had some sort of coffee toffee mousse? My brother ordered the brownie sundae, my mother ordered the cobbler, and my father had the crème brûlée. Portion sizes were decent(that is, not the kind of massively oversized mess you’d find at a chain…) The waitress was attentive, timely, and friendly. I look forward to dinner at Christopher’s in the near future and will update accordingly!
