This place is absolutely awful. I would not recommend this location to anyone! There pulled pork is dry constantly, I bought the Westerner with pulled pork and chicken and made it a plate with Mac & Cheese and Caesar Salad as usual just to see if the pulled pork has changed it’s quality because the location off of central there pulled pork is always great! Maybe the grand location should take some tips from that location! There are constantly new members behind the counter, I have yet to see 1 familiar face. With my past experiences that only says something about management not knowing how to run a franchised business. I had also went to the restroom and they were out of soap and toilet paper in the woman’s restroom, so I had to wash my hands in hot water and sanitizer that I had in my purse. I told one of the members and he said to me «okay sorry ma’am, I’ll take care of it» So I waited and watched him as he was working really hard to satisfy the other customers in line it seemed to be as if he was the only one on duty it took about 10 mins for him to handle the other customers in line and I was surprised that he did it such a fast, organized way(he was black and very handsome btw) so after he handled the customers he finally went to the restrooms and properly fixed them and I asked him if he was the only one on duty and he said, «yeah, there are usually about 2 – 3 people working but today it’s only me and a manager» and I told him that he is such hard worker and that he shouldn’t be the only one on duty and taking care of all of the people coming in for lunch. I’m not the type of lady to write reviews for company’s or organizations but I just had to because of how repulsive the food quality was and how overworked the boy was. The service the kid gave me was outstanding but the food not so much!

Again new faces and new manager. I come for the ribs. Met the owner today, nice. Good luck with everything

I ordered takeout a couple of weeks ago and it wasn’t good at all… not the meat or the sides. I don’t know if it would have made a difference or not, but they didn’t even include any kind of sauce with my meat. Everything tasted like it was from a freezer, can or box — gross. I won’t be ordering from there again and nor will I ever go there.

First off I want to say I really like Dickie’s. I normally frequent the location on Central @ Philadelphia also in Chino where the service has always been very good. My Son and I went into this location(Grand Ave) on Friday 5/20, we walked in and there was 2 party’s in front of us waiting to order. Two employees on a Friday night which is not good for a busy day in general. Ten minutes pass and still the same 2 people in the front of the line ordering food, the guy cutting the meats was a bit slow weighing the meat portions as though he was dealing with fine precious metals. Finally about 20 minutes later our turn and I order a three meat plate and again he weighs the portions which are quite small for $ 14.99, my Son wanted the baby back ribs, they were out of ribs and out of bbq beans, I’ve never heard of a restaurant running out of food early in the evening. The brisket and pulled pork looked dry and tasted dry upon arriving home just 10 minutes later. One of the two positives here was the waffle fries and the bbq chicken which were both good. I can’t really blame these 2 guys which were working this day the management has to be better prepared for busy nights with enough staff and plenty of popular meats for busy Friday nights. Needless to say I will NEVER come here again especially after reading all the other negative ratings. Response to your question on 5⁄23: Tell me what good will come from contacting you? Obviously you’ve read all the past BAD reviews regarding your restaurant but continue to run store operations as usual and done little or nothing to improve Customer relations while losing potential business. Best of luck

If, I could give this location a no star rating I would. My first visit was approximately two weeks after it opened, I wanted a rib plate and was informed that they were out of ribs and the worker was making a big push to sell me pulled pork. I left without making a purchase and very disappointed. On my second visit, I ordered a three meat plate, ribs, chopped beef brisket and polish sausage with two sides to go. The worker placed all three meat in a small white 6″ x 4″ container. I was given two small end ribs that was very dry and a small portion of the brisket and sausage. The quantity of food was not worth $ 15. Very disappointing. My third visit went very well, I ordered the same three meat plate to eat at the restaurant. I received four decent sized ribs and a good portion of chopped brisket, and polish sausage. On today’s visit another big disappointment. I ordered a three meat plate to-go, which was ribs, chopped brisket and polish sausage. The meat handler in preparing my order removed an approximate 14 to 18″ sausage rope from its plastic wrapping, and cut approximately two inches off and sliced it into five pieces. He placed the sausage onto a scale that was concealed by a 18″ x 7″ sign placed between the scale and the glass partition on the counter. After placing the sausage in a small take out container, he proceeded to place two burnt small end ribs into into the container saying«This is all of the ribs we have left». I told the worker to cancel my order and left. It is obvious that there is a major difference in the quantity of food for dining in and to-go orders. I believe in giving a restaurant a second chance after a bad experience, I have given this location four tries this is it no more visit. This location is giving Dickey’s Barbeque, Inc. a bad reputation.

I’m going to have to call B.S. on Unilocal administration, because previous Unilocal reviews for this specific establishment date back up to a year ago, which is impossible because they just opened not even a month or two ago. So initially, I was a little apprehensive about coming to this location, until I realize that not all Unilocal reviews pertained to this location on Grand Avenue, which is its newest location in the Chino area. This is the location I am reviewing. Some of the previous Unilocal reviews discussed issues with cleanliness, customer service, and food quality. My review will discuss these three aspects, and I will also include price as part of the 4 out of 5 Stars I have given it. So let me begin. Came here on a Sunday evening. Extremely slow evening, two staff members working(young male and female). Both greeted me, were friendly, and informative to a first-time Dickey’s Barbecue Pit customer like me. Customer service, five stars. I took a good look around to check for cleanliness issues. The floor was clean, the tables were clean, and the sauce bar was clean. The ice machine was either really slow or the ice was running out. The bathrooms were clean. Cleanliness, five stars. The food was delicious, and the sauces complimented the Meats well. We ordered the brisket, the pulled pork, the ribs, and the chicken. None of it was dry or overcooked, though I do wish the meats were slightly hotter in temperature. The sauces were hot. Our sides included macaroni and cheese, coleslaw(my favorite choice), baked beans(second favorite choice), jalapeño beans(another good one), onion rings(good stuff), and the green beans with bacon(a little soggy/canned taste). We had actually ordered fried okra but found out that they had run out. It must be a very popular side item because several people who came in after us also ordered the fried okra only to be told that they did not have anymore. Food quality and selection, 4 stars. Finally, price in comparison to food quality and portion size, four stars. Serving/portion size of meat is so-so, the sides portion size are also so-so. I feel like they could give slightly bigger portions of both meat and sides in comparison for what is charged. I am making this judgment based on other BBQ meals I have had in similar locations/restaurants. Overall, you really can’t beat the kids eat free on Sundays, and the free soft serve ice cream machine they have, which you can treat yourself to after your meal. That was a really great surprise. I think this is definitely a place I would like to return to.

Not coming back. Sausage & pulled pork was room temperature /cold. The only thing warm was the macaroni, and that is because I had to wait for it because it wasn’t ready. The signs advertising the daily specials & Sunday promotion were so close to a table, they blocked both routes around the table to get to the other 2 tables. I had to practically sit on someone’s lap to get by! No ice cream cones due to a strike with a particular brand. No other brands available for purchase? Staff was somewhat friendly, but not cheerful and no positive vibes, almost like they hated working there! Management is too cheap to honor a $ 2 coupon voucher they handed out to promote their business from a local community function, the reason: because I purchased a daily special. There was no wording on the coupon excluding daily specials. No wonder why this place is empty during the lunch hour rush.

If it wasn’t for the food I would of gave this place 1 star. I have eaten at a number of Dickey’s, and really like the food. Today this place was out of control, I get that they are newly opened, that’s why I waited until they got the bugs out. Well I didn’t wait long enough. No sense of service or management. Well I’m moving out of the area, and can gladly say I won’t be back here. I’ll stick to the other Chino and Inland Empire established restaurants.

Bad service, no acknowledgement when I walked in. Then waited for someone to finally help me, only to tell me, I had to wait 30 minutes for ribs because they were out. Oh, did I mention that there were 5 people behind the counter doing who knows!!!

We’ve been here twice recently and aren’t very impressed. The first visit went ok: –luckily we got the last of the ribs they had for the day(phew!!) –food tasted good. no complaints –service was alright but not very impressive –prices are high. even for basically a «fast food» BBQ place Second visit was disappointing: –service was horrible –meat chopper said he barely had enough spicy sausage to make a sandwich. then dropped a few pieces on the floor while he was chopping. –regular BBQ sauce at the counter was all gone. so they gave us some from the back but it was cold –I ordered a pulled pork & tanglers potato… but they didn’t give me my tanglers –employee ringing us up appeared to be some type of management, but couldn’t figure out how to enter a coupon

I seriously love Dickeys the food is seriously great. The service at the chino shop was so disappointing. Someone was being trained and the gentleman was very nice but the lady was seriously unprofessional in how she talked to the associates there. I order and I go to pay the lady is helping train this other guy and she is yelling at the workers. She takes off the gloves to ring up the transaction them once she is done she put the same gloves back on. Is that sanitary??? I had to check my order and I seen I was missing a side and when I ask if two sides should should come with a meal she asked to see my receipt after she had just rang me. Then I asked about the rolls and she said they were out and didn’t even think to mention that, I ask well since they were out if they would sub them out she said I could wait 14 mins while the other ones were in the oven like really??? Seriously the worse service, and she’s bad trainer.

Mehh… First of all, sorry to the guy chopping the meat, but he was INCREDIBLY slow! There were two people in line in front of us and I swear it took us 15+ minutes to place our order. I think he was just being really careful and would weigh the meat like every half ounce. By the time we got to the front, the line behind us was almost out the door. We had the XL Family Pack which was three meats, four sides and eight rolls. We tried the brisket, pulled pork and the jalapeño cheese sausage. In general, I would say the meat is quite bland. Since I’m not a huge fan of bbq sauce, I tried to eat the meat plain, but it was really flavorless and the pulled pork had big blobs of fat. The jalapeño cheese sausage(admittedly, my brother’s recommendation) was a little too spicy and weird for me. When I ate a piece, it tasted like a macaroni and cheese sausage with melty cheese oozing out. Sides were fine, but nothing really special. At least there is free soft serve. Overall, not super impressed with Dickey’s. Could it just be this particular location?

I revoke my previous review. This place sucks a$$! The crew is always new so they are always training. The owner of this business needs to just give up and turn this place over so he will stop giving Dickeys a bad name. I love their pulled pork and ribs but I will go to any other dickeys but this one. They wrap their meat in plastic then have the balls to slice it right in front of you. My sandwich had a piece of plastic wrap in it so be aware and check your food. I smell lawsuit with someone choking on that. Good luck dickeys on keeping happy customers or at least at this location.

This is my go to spot for bbq in the Chino area. Great bbq for a decent price without killing your wallet like at Lucille’s. The sausages, brisket are great. As far as the sides, you cannot go wrong with the baked potato casserole, mac and cheese and beans. They also have free soft serve.

I came here on a Thursday evening a little after 6:30−7pm and there was no one in sight! Whoa, maybe the crowd decided to go hit up places for Thirsty Thursday, who knows?! Anywho, Patch P. and I craved for something BBQ and this ended up being the closest meet up spot for dinner. For $ 28 – 30, we got the Half rack of pork ribs($ 15) and the Thursday special($ 11) of pulled pork, cheddar chicken sausage, a fountain drink, and 2 sides!(Jalapeño beans and fries). We also got to sample their chicken, but decided to pass on it as it was a tad bit too dry. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and paired well with their original BBQ sauce. IMO, the pulled pork was also a bit dry, but much better choice than the chicken. The cheddar sausage was cheesy and delicious. Everything else was also good, no complaints here. To top off the night, they also offered complimentary soft serve vanilla ice cream on sugar cones! Mmmm, totally satisfied our BBQ cravings, thanks Dickey’s!

I recently tried out Dickeys for the very first time, personally the word barbecue does not call my attention however after hearing such good comments on the food there I decided to try it. I got the three meal plate to share with my friend and I loved every meat on there! The turkey tasted just like thanksgiving, the polish sausage was juicy and the pulled pork with some barbecue sauce was just as delicious! I truly felt satisfied with my meal and it didn’t feel heavy on my tummy which was a bonus. The staff was friendly and informative. The prices were reasonable, I would however like to see more meat added onto the plate but I understand that is the store not the workers. Overall I was a happy customer.

Yummy I say! Very friendly staff and food if so full of flavor. Feels like something you would have at a county fair. We had the chicken breast, ribs, baked potato casserole aka mash potatoes, Mac and cheese and jalapeño beans. It’s tough to please all four members in my family. This place did!!!

I see a lot of negative reviews on Dickey’s. I really like the place. The beef brisket here or any of the other Dickey’s locations is outstanding. It’s so good I haven’t tried any of the other meats on my numerous visits. The sides are real good too. Trust me on this get the brisket(sandwich, baker or a side of meat) and you won’t be disappointed. The staff here is real friendly and the soft serve ice cream machine is an added bonus. I’ll be regular at this location as it’s a welcome addition to the neighborhood. About time we got a Dickie’s in Chino Hills.

Dickey’s seems to be doing well and expanding all over, I really don’t get why. While my son likes coming here(I suspect the free soft serve for dessert) and husband did not love any of their meats, and be not being much of a meat eater, didn’t really enjoy any of their sides. The food is very much precooked, no real grill or anything here, the sides not and better than at fast food places. Service was nice, the location good and clean, the most important thing is the food, and that really needs some work.

I came here for the brisket. I’ve been to other Dickeys and had some fresh juicy beef brisket so I was pretty excited coming here. but here it was very dry and hard to put down because of the dryness. The guy that was taking my order was talking with an employee the same time he was helping me and I typically don’t mind but he kept asking me the same questions 2 or 3 times because he was trying to multi task. I get annoyed when I already answered you questions about my order and then you ask them again literally 5 seconds later. My dad got the chicken and that was dry as well. I like other Dickeys locations so maybe ill give it another shot in the future.
