Food is good, with some unique options. I’ve tried the beef tenderloin sandwich which was good, although I prefer the meat more medium rare than well done. I just ordered a spicy turkey sandwich to try. Haven’t found anything I’m in love with yet, but also haven’t been disappointed. The service here is good because they’re always so friendly. My biggest complaint is that their meals come with a «free» drink even though it’s clearly built into the cost of the food, but I only drink water so it’s irritating to pay for that. Other than that, the location is awesome right next to the Aronoff and where I work so I will definitely be back.

I was hesitant but we decided to order online and my husband walk from our hotel to pick up. Everything we had was great so we did it the next morning too. Tea is my measuring stick… this one had some of the best I’ve head(far better than Starbucks). The fresh fruit IS fresh fruit! The hand cracked eggs ARE just that. V’s really delivers what’s on their menu. I loved the turkey sausage with white cheddar… absolutely perfect! My husband always gets something different and the«big blue» is his favorite. Very important to us: the service was exceptional. Genuinely nice without being pompous! I can’t wait to get breakfast there(maybe lunch too) when I return to Cincinnati!

We had breakfast here. The service was great but unfortunately the food left much to be desired. My breakfast sandwich, which was only lukewarm, was supposed to have goat cheese on it, but I don’t think it did. The fresh fruit was good though.

Considering how much new commercial activity continues to characterize OTR and the back end of downtown, not too many notable openings have happened lately in the heart of downtown – i.e., in the blocks immediately around Fountain Square. There is this low-profile sandwich shop, however, tucked off to the side of the lobby of the Aronoff Center on Seventh Street. It’s a good one. At first, it seems rather expensive: All the sandwiches on the menu are listed at $ 8, $ 9, and even $ 10. But the sandwiches come with a side and a fountain drink. Although the sandwiches themselves are made from quality ingredients, some are a bit hit-or-miss conceptually. Several come with fruit-based spreads or sauces that are either sloppy and overly sweet, or both.(A couple are difficult to eat without squirting the spread all over your hands.) But the Shamrock – a pastrami, Swiss, & slaw one on a preztel bun – and the Not Another Club – turkey, bacon, goat/cheddar, and red pepper aioli on croissant – are really tasty. Most importantly, among V’s sides are some of the best house-made soups you can get in Cincinnati outside of the top-end restaurants. The red pepper pesto with chicken and the tomato Florentine are terrific. The staff is well-trained and very pleasant. Ultimately, your nine or ten bucks gets your a very filling and flavorful lunch, if you choose well.

So far I’ve had the Champion Chicken salad(excellent), the Not Another Club(also excellent), and the Natural(almost excellent). My issue with the Natural stems from a personal dislike of the cranberry habanero spread, not from the sandwich being bad. I’m very certain people who are into things like cranberry habanero spread would really like it. The maple expresso bacon and the baked potato pasta salad are where it’s at for me. I try to always get both with whatever I order. TOTALLYWORTHIT. I get V’s delivered through OrderUp on the regular, not in small part to the fact that they deliver Dr. Pepper right to me on days when I can’t leave work. Bottom line, I’ve never been sorry I ordered from here and I don’t think you will be either.

Stopped here on a dinner break before my show started a performance and was surprised by the excellent sandwich I received dispite the lack luster exterior/interior. Don’t let this café fool you by its looks! I liked it so much I stopped I’m a 2nd time later that week, and my new sandwich choice was even better than the last!

Today I was running around town getting things done while on my lunch hour and needed a quick bite before I headed back to work. Instead of eating Subway or some other quick, gross meal, I decided to give V’s on 7th a try. It opened in early December 2015 and I’d been meaning to give it a shot. There is limited outdoor seating which was taken by happily-eating customers and a rather large dining room that opens up into the Weston Art Gallery through open double doors. It has a black and white motif with interesting stainless steel table tops; very modern and clean. I dug it. The menu is robust, featuring a plethora of lunch sandwiches and other options. All of them sounded delicious, but I knew what I wanted as soon as I saw it: the Cincy. This sandwich is Vonderhaar’s Goetta meatballs topped with apple caraway kraut and drizzled with Rhinegeist Mustard on a sub roll. The pleasant clerk took my order and turned around my to-go order in less than 10 minutes. Everything was quick and efficient and fit perfectly into my lunch schedule. I should say this was at 12:45PM and there wasn’t a line, so this undoubtedly contributed to my shortened wait. The sandwich was delicious and the baked potato pasta salad that I chose to go with it was amazing. All of it for only $ 9, too. I was filled after the meal and happy. If you work downtown and need a quick meal but don’t want to settle for Subpar, go to V’s on 7th. It’s between Main and Walnut.

Absolutely delicious. Everything tasted freshly-made and very flavorful. The cornbread had bacon in it, giving it a nice smoky flavor. The chili and red pepper pesto soup were great, and the sandwich I had(The Natural) was to die for. I will absolutely not be visiting Cincy without stopping here for lunch!

What a hidden gem! Tucked inside the arts center this café serves up quick but delicious homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees at reasonable prices. I had a salad that seemed simple enough: greens, tomatoes, cheese, bacon, and chicken. But the fresh ingredients made all the difference. I barely used any dressing because the«espresso maple bacon» added such a delightfully sweet/salty combo that added enough flavor. Even though this is a casual joint, the presentation is beautiful and the flavors superb. Vs is on my «must eat» lunch spot anytime I work in downtown Cincy.

Late last year a new breakfast and lunch spot opened up downtown on the street level of the Aronoff building on 7th Street. I wandered in to V’s Café on 7th for lunch one day while serving on the grand jury. They were offering 20% off your first visit by checking in on Unilocal. Orders are placed at the counter and are brought to your table when ready. There is plenty of seating inside to accommodate the lunch rush, though I think word had yet to spread during my visit as there were plenty of open spots. I ordered the Not Another Club sandwich with turkey, house maple espresso bacon, white goat cheddar cheese, and red pepper aioli on a flaky croissant bun($ 9). This came served with a choice of kettle chips, a cup of soup, pasta salad, or two deviled eggs along with a pickle and 24 oz. drink. I went with the creamy chicken and rice soup which was hearty and very filling. The club sandwich was excellent and their house bacon is to die for, it is incredibly sweet and crisp. I was also fond of the bread, a hybrid mix of a croissant and a bun. It was buttery and flaky but not so much that it was falling apart like some croissant sandwiches I’ve had in the past. The staff members were all very friendly and super helpful. And it’s nice to see some eco-friendliness in the products they are using to serve their delicious food. Overall I was very impressed by V’s Café and would be a regular visitor if I worked downtown.

I want to like this place(close to my office) but my two breakfast experiences have left me wanting more. The first time I went it advertised a fresh cracked egg and it was cold. The second time I went the goetta in my wrap was cold and mushy. The service is slow(10 minute wait and I was the only customer) and they include a drink and yogurt or fruit, neither of which I am interested in. These items are«free» but that really means included otherwise it would be a few dollars cheaper(better price point). My advice: serve something hot for breakfast, speed up the service, remove«free» items and lower the price.

This place is a solid lunch spot downtown and they also serve breakfast in the morning. It’s tucked away on 7th street and you can get in from the street, the Aronoff, or the art gallery. Side note: I went to see the Nutcracker at the ballet and during intermission wanted a coffee but the little stands outside the gallery only had pop, water, and wine. Luckily one of the ushers pointed me in the direction of V’s! I was able to run down and quickly grab a good and well-priced cup of coffee without even leaving the building! Food here is very good– I got the Not Another Club with a cup of Red Pepper soup with a warm rye roll. It was a lunch combo so those came together along with a pickle and fountain drink. All for just $ 9! And that sandwich is a whole sandwich for that price! The club comes on a perfectly flaky croissant which is great and not too heavy. They also have a bunch of specials since they are still relatively new– I got 20% off for checking in on Unilocal there for the first time!

Got a bite to eat here after a morning jog with my boyfriend. We might’ve been their first customers so they were still setting up. Coupled with the establishment being new, the service was a little slow considering the fact that we were the only ones there. I’m definitely going to check out the progress now though. They were super sweet, the food selection was great, and I really liked that they’re environmentally conscious. Plus it’s literally a couple of blocks away from me! :P

Omgoodness! Normally I am not a Vonderhaars fan but this division of Vonderhaars has taken it to another level. On Tuesday I had«not another club» and today I had their flat bread pizza special. Both selections were an pleasant unforgettable experience. The service was personable and atmosphere chilled. What a nice addition to downtown. Yummy for my tummy.

V’s Café on 7th is a new restaurant tucked inside the Aronoff Center serving breakfast and lunch. It’s owned by the same family who run the successful Vonderhaar’s Catering business. Shortly after the«coming soon» sign had first gone up a few months ago, I’d begun eagerly monitoring their construction progress, making note of their hard-to-read logo with its small, script font. In a day and age in which cursive writing is a lost art and no longer taught in some schools, one wonders how many people can read it. It takes concentration to make out the words, «Café on 7th,» so much so that I wonder if passersby realize it’s a restaurant at all. The inside is bright, open and inviting. Posters from some of the Aronoff’s hosted plays line one wall. An abundance of tables dot the dining room and bar-style seating is available along the windows. The room still smelled fresh and new when I first stepped through the doors. The menu is impressive in its expansive detail of fresh, quality ingredients: artisan greens, Amish Swiss cheese, heirloom tomatoes and applewood-smoked pork are among the notables. Extremely photogenic sandwiches, salads and«chef-crafted» soups are the main attractions here. Lunch sandwiches come with a choice of kettle chips, a cup of soup, pasta salad or a pair of deviled eggs, along with a pickle spear and a 24-ounce fountain drink. Breakfast sandwiches come with fruit salad or yogurt and either a 16-ounce coffee or a 12-ounce fountain drink. For my first visit, I tried the Shamrock($ 9): heaping slices of pastrami topped with Amish Swiss and a light and pleasingly acidic Dijon slaw on a fresh pretzel roll. I also selected a cup of their in-house chili. The chili was thick with slightly spicy cinnamon notes. A small bread roll also accompanied the chili, suitable for dipping. Service was a bit spotty during my two visits, although everyone is extremely polite and professional. Patrons order at the counter and the food is brought to the table. On one occasion, my sandwich arrived without my soup, napkins, silverware and drink and I had to get up and ask them for the remainder of my order. There are a dizzying number of special offers to drum up business, including an «early bird» special in which people dining between 10:45 am and 11:30 am get 10% off; a 20% off special for those ordering online; and a free cookie to those who get an emailed receipt. V’s Café on 7th is off to a solid start. I hope they succeed where others in that general location have failed(RIP, Mythos). Given Vonderhaar’s exceptional catering reputation, they’re poised to become a hot downtown lunch spot.

While downtown Cincinnati certainly has its fair share of deli/cafes, this one is simply the best. I have been here 3 times in the last 2 weeks and can’t get enough. The picture of the smores hot chocolate got me in the door, but I knew I was hooked after the first bite of my sandwich. The people are friendly, and the food is absolutely fantastic! The place is also super clean and very well run.

Best soup and sandwich place downtown by a mile, head and shoulders above Panera while at the same price point. I got the Too Good to be True tenderloin sandwich and the red pepper pesto with chicken soup. Really good stuff here.
