So I don’t do BBQ normally bc I don’t eat pork or beef. However this was a business dinner and choice was selected by the leadership. Well I was impressed bc the menu was diversed. I had a grill chicken reuben sandwich on rye with sweet potatoe fries. There were over 20 of us, the service was great, the food came out hot and fresh and in a decent amount of time. My sandwich was absolutely delicious. The serving size and price matched very well! I was absolutely pleased with the choice and overall service and will visit again when I’m in the area!

I’m really shocked by the positive 3 – 4 star reviews. :-| Can I just say, the Fish Market is bad, this is worse, don’t be tempted by either! Stay away, how do you mess up a burger AND sides? YUcK YUCKYUCK; my friend order the(snicker, lol, grinning) crab cake, I about feel out my chair if they can’t do ribs what they are known for how the heck they gonna do crabcakes, needless to say they were awful too. I did hear the drinks were good if you want to get your libations on, come to think about it, you will need 5 or 6 drinks to make this food taste good :-)

Tried this lil nugget today on Unilocal.I’m from Houston so I take places that claim to be Texas BBQ seriously. It was clean, the staff was nice, the ribs were just OK. Classic Texas ribs will have a dry coating and you would taste more smokiness. I assume they boil the ribs or something because it had no smokiness and you could see no visible smoke rings when biting into a rib. This place is completely on par with other places I have visited up here but authentic Texas BBQ this is not.

Not bad. Not great. But not bad. I wouldnt throw up a fight if someone took me here but wouldnt suggest it either. They said the apple sauce was homemade and i am 97% sure was store bought… motts. The homemade HOTHOT bbq is available upon request and is super tastey and hot.

Old restaurant that takes you back in time. Food was very good, beer on tap up to 32oz’rs. The BBQ hot sauce is HOT… blend it with the sweat one and it’s very good.

On New Year’s Eve 2016 my husband asked for pork barbecue to accompany the other menu items. I don’t eat pork so I went to three different restaurants and got barbecue and hands down this restaurant won. We have yet to go in and dine but from what I saw and what he ate we will be back again.

The waitress we had was wonderful but the food was so-so. Not for anything but i cook some mean ribs that are juicy and fall off the bone and the bear paw sandwich was dry also. I guess i should open a food business, i am spoiled with home cooked meals all the time and when i rarely go out to eat i am hardly ever satisfied with anyones cooking. so i rate the food a #2

French Fries From France? My friend lives in Clinton, so we did a little research to find a place close by. This place is a down-home, laid back spot. It does feel Texas-like when you walk in. I won’t get into the ambiance and all that because that’s not its selling point. The food was solid. The ribs were executed well, though not super meaty. The chicken had a nice crisp to the skin. I’m not a BBQ expert, but I heard that Texas BBQ generally specializes in not using a lot of sauce, so I made a point to try everything without sauce first. It wasn’t bland, but definitely needed sauce. My sides, baked beans and mixed veggies, were cooked and seasoned properly. Oh yea, we started with buffalo wings, which were cool. My only gripe with the restaurant is that french fries was not offered as a default side for my meal. In order for me to swap out for fries, it would have been $ 1.99 extra. It’s not the end of the world, but definitely held back a 4th star. I was wondering if their french fries were REALLY good, maybe imported directly from France, but looking at the pics on Unilocal… they just look like regular french fries: shrug:. Go check the place out. The BBQ is better than Hill Country, but not better than the guy around the corner from my house in front of the liquor store.

Had the chicken Caesar wrap the other day that was excellent! It’s such a simple dish, but this place makes it really flavorful and left me wanting more! I was really impressed. Also love their hushpuppies.

Visited today after rave reviews of a coworker but I was disappointed. The appetizer order of hushpuppies were not done in the middle. The meal was OK but I’d definitely had better.

The BBQ in this place is amazing! I had the platter with chicken breast, ribs and brisket. The rib meat fell right off the bone. The potatoes salad and green beans were also very delicious. Waitress was friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back to this place

First time in this area and saw there was a bbq place, so we decided to check it out! We were super excited and as soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender, a blonde lady, stared at us. I have never felt so unwelcomed in an establishment before. She glared at us as she poured our two waters and asked us what we wanted. I can not review on the food, I wish I could have, but we did not try it. I let her know we were leaving and she gave us a crooked smile with her super dark eyeliner and said bye. I chose not to eat or spend money in an establishment that made me feel so unwelcomed, so we left. Different ethnicities may not be welcomed here, be careful if you chose to dine here.

Been here a few times over the years and have always had a positive experience! Really close to Andrews and great food! Really enjoy the brisket sandwich, brisket in general, ribs and the sides. Pie is also very good and totally what you need after a big meal. They have two different bbq sauces at the table and a honey BBQ they give on request that is delicious with the brisket. Have had a couple really good pieces of pie here too! Usually leave rather full. Great BBQ spot, go here and you won’t be disappointed.

Disappointing would be an understatement. I was staying near Andrews Air Force Base with some coworkers and we decided to give this place a try since it was the top-rated restaurant on Unilocal for this area. Food — I wanted to try their«award-winning» brisket so I ordered the Brisket and Mac off the specials. Brisket flavor wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. I had to actually cut the brisket with a knife. The mac n’ cheese looked and tasted like it had been sitting in a warming tray at a buffet for an hour. The Texas toast was buttered toast. The coleslaw wasn’t bad. One of my friends got the chicken and ribs and said it was the worst grilled chicken he has had in years. Another friend got a steak and didn’t finish it. Service — Waited 30 minutes for food. I had water to drink and I finished it ¾ of the way into my meal and the waitress never offered to refill. Price — About $ 20 with water to drink and after tip. If this is the best restaurant in this area, I weep for the local residents. I will be hitting a chain restaurant like IHOP or Ruby Tuesday before I come back to this place(sad, I know). It was really, really bad and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

. Our hotel told us it was on Diners, Drive-In, and Dives, so of course we went. The food was massive in size and super tasty. One of the better BBQ places I’ve ever been to. My only grip is when I asked for onion rings instead of fries for my duaghters chicken, the waitress didn’t tell me it was $ 7.99 for the onion rings. I think I ate like 1 because I was full. Had I known i was $ 8 to swap them out, I wouldn’t have. I mentioned it to her, but she just shrugged her shoulders and did nothing. so I ended up paying for it. Great food, but that onion ring thing left a little sour taste in my mouth. It wasn’t mentioned on the menu either.

Great BBQ Restaurant;) I was surprised that I did not need to wait at all. This restaurant is super famous tho. High rating, also President Obama went there(His picture is on the wall.) Also super clean. I ordered their sample platter. About $ 15. It comes with rib, brisket, big chicken leg, coleslaw, potato salad, and texas style toasts. They are simply good. There are 2BBQ sauces but I did not need to use them because the BBQ are flavorful enough. Chicken was really tender. Brisket was juicy. Rib was not that tender but delicious. Coleslaw was good because they don’t use too much mayonnaise. Potato salad too. Toasts were crispy and soft and tasty. i’d like to try their sweets next time. Coconut one looks so good at the entrance.
