My favorite restaurant in Bergen County. Service is great. Good consistently delish and drinks are generous. Outdoor patio is beautiful.

Went for dinner a week ago with high expectations. Considering the NYC prices the quality of ingredients and preparation should have been better. Beef short ribs should fall off the bone. This meat was a bit tough, dry, and stringy and had to be scraped off the bone. My wife had the branzino which could have used more seasoning. A tuna tartar appetizer was very good with a good amount of spice. Service was good without being overbearing.

Dinner for 4 was very over priced and add in the dry cleaning as all 4 of us smelled of smoke from the fireplace.

Sorry to say, this restaurant has gone down hill. We hadn’t dined here in a little over a year and we were eager to return so we invited guests to join us last Saturday evening as a belated holiday gift. Although the staff was attentive and courteous we each felt our dinners were sub-par. The were edible, but certainly not worth the price. The short ribs I ordered were heavily slathered in Jack Daniels barbecue sauce to the point that they covered the slabs of fat that encased the short ribs(I’ve NEVER had such fatty short ribs). The $ 34.00 entrée probably had $ 20.00 worth of fat. My wife ordered the octopus and soup appetizers as a main course and our friends ate the grouper and the salmon. One shared appetizer, the dinners, a total of four glasses of wine and two shared deserts cost $ 274.00 with the tip. In the past I wouldn’t have thought twice about the cost but this was chain restaurant dinner. Too bad… it used to be a great restaurant; we won’t be back.

Fantastic Meal. Had heard many great things about Harvest. Had a wonderful winter’s lunch this afternoon in front of the roaring fire in one of the nicest dining rooms I’ve come across in Bergen County. The service, the table, fresh bread and menu couldn’t have been more enjoyed. Harvest is now my new favorite in Northern New Jersey. Great job!

I’ve been a long-time patron at Harvest for family gatherings, holidays, dates, etc. It’s always been my go-to«nice» restaurant, certain to impress. Over the years I’ve seen it go from 5 stars down to 3. There was always so much attention to detail and professionalism in both their service and food preparation. In my recent experiences, the wait staff has been rather annoying and talk too much; the presentation has gone down hill, even in the quality of the dishes they serve on. Still, the food is generally unique and overall good quality. You’ll start off with fresh bread and a dip that I can’t describe — it’s my favorite restaurant bread dip, ever. Menu items rarely change so it would be nice to see the owner fix that. They have a bar area that often has live music and is more casual. The dining room is open with vaulted ceilings and a large fireplace that burns in the colder months. Outdoors there is a deck you can eat/drink on as well. Valet parking only. The owner is always around and engages with customers — he will walk around to see how you are doing/how the food is, which I like. Expect to drop at least $ 50 per person between drinks, apps, and entrée. Definitely worth checking out for a nice occasion — maybe it’s back on the uphill trend; I haven’t been in a while.

Tis the season for Harvest. It is a perfect spot for either indoor upscale dining with an incredibly packed menu, or relaxing outdoor seating by the crackling fire pit wih a glass of wine in hand. Hands down one of my all-time favorites!!!

Went to Harvest last night good crowd for a Thursday night. Other than the blonde women at the bar who was cackling like the wicked witch of the west, it was another good meal. I ordered the onion soup and a burger. Have to say it was outstanding.

Great food great service, the tuna is to die for if you get it black and blue. The steak is also amazing. I don’t know what are in the string beans but they are wonderful. Can get Loud by the bar, but for a nice quiet night just sit outside.

Went there with a group of 6, fun people. Place is very comfortable good décor and layout. Food is very mediocre at best. I had the Octapus. Didn’t love it. We also had the tuna tar tar which was good but the seaweed not great. Lobster salad was very good and for 16 not a bad price. For dinner I had tuna which was ok not great. We also had the chicken, very dry. If you like braised short ribs that was pretty good 6 people 20% gratuity was put on bill 578. Pretty pricey As we left they had a band in the bar and a nice crowd. Nice place to have a drink and listen to music, food not so good

Excellent food, the tuna tartare is great, but the steaks are a must try! Cozy atmosphere and fun live band! The wait staff is very attentive, and knowledgable. Ask for Tom, great waiter!

I love the atmosphere here. The fireplace, outdoor fire pit, and bar area are all cozy but not too small. BUT last night I had the butter lettuce salad and gnocchi with shrimp. Salad was ok tasting. Gnocchi was awful. Hard and chewy and shrimp were over cooked. Husband had sardine appetizer and tuna main. He ate both said they were OK to good. To be fair I told the waiter about not liking my dish and he offered to have it remade. I said No he took it off the bill and bought our dessert. Bread pudding was yummy. Ok I have buried the lead here, at 2am I was sick. I had nothing else to eat yesterday afternoon so it had to be from here. Not full on food poisoning, but an unpleasant reaction all the same.

Great atmosphere, good rotation of live music, talented head chef, attentive staff, friendly smiles greet you, and there is talent behind the bar. Harvest is my favorite restaurant in the area, and my wife and I always seem to be there for important anniversaries, birthdays, etc. We once tried the chefs choice menu, and were completely blown away. He was so happy that we ordered it, and prepared one of my all time most delicious meals, ever. I’m not reviewing specific items since everything I’ve had was properly prepared in the French technique, exquisite talent. The one flaw I have uncovered, is that during the week you run the risk of having some improperly prepared food. I ordered their porterhouse special medium rare on a Thursday treat night, but it came out blue rare. I tried not to be fussy, but it was just too rare for me. They took it back and re fired it, but by then it was well done in most parts, and chewy throughout. In my opinion, in a restaurant of their level, the appropriate reaction would have been to serve a new steak. My sides were perfectly seasoned, cooked, prepared. My wife also mentioned that her risotto was under cooked, and lacked any flavor of the wine it was supposed to be cooked in. Both of our onion soups were seasoned with a great balance of salt, and a nice crust on the cheese, however, the cheese was still cold and un melted under the surface. The crème Brule was well done, perfect custard, decent crust. This trip was the abarition in the 7 years we have been enjoying Harvests offerings. The definition of 4 star.

I had the pleasure of attending this restaurant for New Years. I won’t be waiting until next New Years to return. Bottom line is that this restaurant is not only a fine eating establishment, but also a great atmosphere to spend time with people you like. The food was outstanding and presented very well. Rather than dwell on the food description, you can just see for yourself through the images from others that posted for this restaurant before me. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and fun. The architecture and both inside and outside is well kept and elegant. There is a large dining area, a nice sized bar with a dance floor, and the best part is the fire pit outside. I imagine there would be outdoor seating in the warmer weather, however, the fire pit will keep many warm when taking a break to step outside. I was rather surprised on how well it warmed the area surrounding the pit in the middle of night in January. This is a place you can take someone you like, a group of friends, or even the entire family. Highly recommended. Will return.

A snowy Saturday night proved to be a perfect backdrop to dine at this sophisticated French inspired bistro. The roaring fireplace, attentive service and thoughtful menu make this an «Adler Keeper». Thanks to our good friends, Cathy & Bert we just learned about this treasure perfectly situated in Closter NJ which means it’s close enough to swoop in regularly from Rockland. To start the evening off, we chose a 2013 New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region as a prelude to the appetizer course consisting of a Mediterranean Chopped Salad with cucumber, tomato, red onion, feta, olives and lemon herb vinaigrette. The menu was a fresh fish lovers delight with a range of plates that covered: 1. Wasabi Crusted Tuna 2. Potato Crusted Brazino 3. Australia Buramundo & 4. Halibut Each plate was shared and tasting orgy ensued. Check this place gem out.

I absolutely love the décor at Harvest. It feels like a great cozy place, kind of outdoorsy. The food is quite good, but I found mine to be very salty. My salad even seemed to be salty. But everything was well put together, and the creations were tasty. It felt like a Belgian-inspired menu. I will definitely be coming back.

This is one of my favorite local restaurants. I have been here many times mostly for dinner. Valet parking here is the norm as it has been the case for the past many years. As you walk up the steps in the cooler months as was the case tonight the rear outdoor deck’s natural gas fire pit was ragging. The local owner Russell Stern usually greets his guests as was the case tonight. Our party of 3 was seated in the perimeter corner table overlooking the main restaurant. We started with 2 grey gooses for $ 12 each and my usual margarita on the rocks for only $ 9. I am a cheap date. We ordered a bottle of #185 Four Graces pinot grigio for $ 39. I also ordered a Guinness for $ 7. Two of my family members ordered the $ 32 prixe fixe dinners. I ordered the special paella for $ 34. The total bill less gratuity was $ 189.39 for the 3 of us. My two family members were pleased with their $ 32 prixe fixe dinners. I thought my $ 34 special seafood paella was rather dry because it lacked any extra liquid. Needless to say I could not finish my paella. I have had better paella, but, my other two family members were happy so we will return for the next round. Most of the other dishes I have had here are better including the special lobster.

I’ve have never had a bad meal but I don’t come here often. Service is great. I left my phone here once and no one took any dirty pics of themselves or bought something online. When the weather is nice I recommend eating outside with the fire pit on. My Boo Boo, loved the brussels sprouts cooked with bacon. The raw oyster was fresh and not stinky. If you have the money to eat here often and complain. Then you’re the complaining to privileged people. I’d be happy to trade places with you and have Gordon Ramsey to cook at your poo parade.
