We sat down in the back booth eagerly looking forward to try this place… we were ignored. sat there for over 5 minutes without even a menu or a greeting. we saw two other parties get menus and drinks that came in minutes after we had already been seated. we got up and the server didn’t seem to care. I highly do not recommend this place as the service was terrible it seems as if they only cater to the locals who go there on a regular basis. as someone who worked in restaurants as a server this was unacceptable and I was very disappointed and will never recommend this small café to anyone. my wife and I were looking for something close that we could go to on a regular basis as b S is a stones throw from our house. what a let down

Same resturant, new owner [the original passed(RIP)]. Not the same – they can’t get the cinnamon rolls nor poached eggs down.

We came in and were offered the single seating at the counter. The restaurant was full of patrons already at the tables. While it was great that our drink orders were take right away. It took 15 min before the wait staff took our food order. Then we were told it would take 45 min for the food. We left given the long wait and while it was nice that the sips of OJ and coffee were on the house, it would have been better if we were told up front out the long wait for(food) orders. Waitstaff did explain that they were short staffed. It was an overall poor experience.

You walk in, and it just captures Clovis in a restaurant. It’s country, its small, the chair cushions are runned down, the waitress has a cute twang in her voice and calls you«honey» and all patrons turn their head when a Mexican girl walks in. Its so Clovis! The biscuits and gravy are massive!!! I ordered the sausage gravy and I love my gravy flooded with pepper and this place delivers. The prices are very easy to digest as well. It is ON Sunnyside and there is parking right in front of the coffee shop. ***note, my comments about Clovis are actually good… I know it may sound negative, but please refer to the 5 stars. Please don’t replace the cushions, they add appeal…

So sad to hear of Sharon’s passing as I walked up to the door this morning. God bless her and her family. Was blown away by how clean and fresh the new place is. Hats off to Rick and his new crew. I could tell that this was an entirely new experience. Food was as fresh as could be. Crazy Bernie has a new favorite breakfast joint in Clovis. And it happens to be the BS coffee shop. I’m gonna try to get Rick to make a Crazy Bernie omelette which will be a Spanish omelette with their awesome salsa all over it.

Worst breakfast place I have ever been too. Filthy and food is disgusting. … All of it. From the corned beef hash(if you want to call it that) it’s actually a plate full of potatoes, seriously !!! The biscuit and gravy just Gross and tasteless. … The Country fried steak bland and greasy and disgusting !!! If you’re reading this go somewhere else with your hard earned money, Trust me. $ 65 for 4 people, spend it at a different spot like Jus Joes or rodeo café or even chain restaurants like Dennys or Carrows… you’ll be glad you did, Honestly

Worst place I have ever been I would not recommend this place to even a person I hate that’s how bad the service was forgot about us and did not take our order had to flag them down and then when we got our food like 45 min later they forgot to bring my toast and to say the least their food was not anything to write about. So NO I will NEVER go here again and would not tell anyone about this place

New owners… update. Before I had given this 4 stars but it’s down to two because of the service the fact that the salsa has changed. They are always out of things like chicken fried steak and strawberries. There is a store 300 feet away no excuses. No more homemade cinnamon rolls. and a new cook corned beef hash mediocre. The cook doesn’t know how to cook is eggs and hashbrowns the biscuits are doughy and dense. The gravy is good but the biscuits definitely need work. Probably won’t go here again

Love this place great people and the food rocks my socks off. Locals keep it up. Biscuits and gravy the best. Price is fair. Great service

This marks the second establishment in Clovis where the biscuits and gravy were highly recommended, yet managed to completely fall short mediocrity. When all you can taste is flour, you’re doing it wrong. Everything else was pretty average. From what I understand the restaurant recently changed hands and for some reason the last cook didn’t stick around, which is a shame since the older reviews seem to lean toward greatness. Not anymore.

Very friendly staff. We decided to split a meal since I wasn’t too hungry. Got chicken fried steak with hash browns and a side of biscuit and gravy. They have sausage or bacon gravy which the waitress offered to spilt my biscuit and put bacon gravy on one side and sausage on the other. The biscuit was nice and fluffy. I enjoyed both the gravies but still favored the sausage one — I think it’s cause I prefer the pepper flavor. The chicken fried steak was good. A huge portion! Nice and crispy. Good flavor. My bf wasn’t a fan of the hash browns… He said it was too cooked. Almost like eating burnt fries(which true there were quite a few pieces that were over cooked) I didn’t try the eggs but they looked good. Bf didn’t complain so I’m sure it was fine. I wanted to try the cinnamon roll but she said they were still trying to perfect it so it wasn’t available. I will definitely be back to try it! Oh and waitress didn’t give us a dirty look when we said we were splitting a plate :)

Don’t let the location and outside appearance fool you. the BS Coffee Shop is one of those hidden gems in Clovis for breakfast… those that pass it by are missing out. The BS is now run and owned by Sharon’s family. I’ve been going to the BS off and on since the late 70’s when I used to come down to visit family and was sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. The giant chicken fried steak is just delicious and you can still get the BEST white sausage or bacon country gravy(they’re still working to get back the flavor of Sharon’s gravy) with biscuits in Fresno/Clovis…bar none. If I had a knock, it would be the biscuits are just a bit overdone on the bottom and the gravy isn’t quite there yet… but that didn’t stop me. Everything I’ve ever eaten there has been good and I cannot recall ever eating a bad meal. The place is clean and freshly painted and there has been some upgrades made to the food quality(?). The staff is friendly and efficient. Same place, different faces and genuinely goof coffee shop table faire.

Yes, new owners. same name, I hope they keep it. I only ordered take out b&g and I was a bit disappointed. the gravy wasn’t as good and honestly, the portions were much smaller than previous owners gave. it’s biscuits and gravy. one of the highest profit items in any restaurant and they skimp ? they are new, I’ll give them another shot with full breakfast.

Tried this place again after new ownership. Delicious! Staff was really friendly. The bacon and eggs were cooked just right and the pancake was lightly crispy toasty on the edges. It was a really good breakfast. I love it when breakfast turns out good. It’s my favorite meal of the day :) They are still re-decorating so it’s not much to look at but it’s clean.
