We have eaten here many times, all the food is great and very fresh, and portions are perfect.

AMAAAAAZING! Took my Persian BF here and he loves it as well. Pilaf is so yummy, closest thing to homemade the way his mom makes it. Great price for their portions! Baklava is a MUST.

Bland bland bland… no seasoning or salt used whatsoever the salad was great with fresh dill and cilantro in it but everything else was Bland Bland Bland won’t be back. Mousaka could have been wonderful with seasoning as the chicken breast and the lamb beef Kebab could have also but everything tasted the same I am an ex restaurant tour and I do know good food they need to work on their seasoning and then they may get 5 stars

Today was the first time my family and I tried this place. My bf looked at reviews on Unilocal and we decided to go there for dinner. First great thing about this place: the service. Super friendly staff. Didn’t rush us while we looked at the menu. Asked if it was our first time going there and explained each item to us sincerely without trying to rush. I got the one item menu with the spicy beef, my bf got the chicken and beef/lamb kabob meal, and we got the kids meal for our 3 and 1 year old(chicken kabob and rice pilaf – perfect for toddlers!) The food was AMAZING! On point! I’ve been to a lot of Mediterranean restaurants in Fresno and this place by far is exceptional. We will definitely be coming back! Great service Great food Kid-friendly Overall, great restaurant and wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

I’ve driven by this place several times. In and Out line was super crazy so decided to go with a healthier option. The salad had WAY too much dill, the tomatoes were mushy and the overall flavor was okay. The garlic chicken was SOOO dry and the sauce taste like tomato sauce more than garlic. The yogurt sauce was sooo runny. The rice was well cooked and sorta of buttery, but NOTHING like Mediterranean Cafes in Downtown. The baklava was soggy in the bottom rather than mostly crispy. Flavor was good, but not the best I’ve had. I would NOT pay $ 10 for this food. I could of cooked a better meal myself. The guy who helped me was very nice and I do feel bad that the food wasn’t as great. I rarely write bad reviews, but it was literally one of the worse take out meals I’ve had in a long time. I’ll stick to Broilers from now on.

I thought I’d give this place another shot. With all the positive reviews, I thought maybe I just went on a bad day. Sad to say the experience was much the same as the first time. Bland, under seasoned food that is way overpriced. Meats were dry, sauces were runny and under flavored. I’m not quite sure how they are getting all these rave reviews, my guess would be friends and family. I’m sure a small portion could be people that have no idea what good Mediterranean food tastes like. If you’re part of that small group, do yourselves a favor and try Georges downtown Fresno or the Phoenician Garden on Herndon and First. That’s some great Mediterranean food. I gave this place two stars because they do have friendly customer service, the place is clean and the baklava is pretty good. I definitely won’t be trying this place for a third time though.

I usually don’t write negative reviews unless I had a very bad experience. I was really disappointed about my food. I came here with high hopes based on the reviews and I can’t believe how this place has such good ratings. I went to Doy grill to order take out. I ordered the garlic chicken and vegetables plate. The rice pilaf was bland, the garlic chicken had a tomato based sauce that didn’t taste good and I had maybe 4 big chunks of chicken. The vegetables were raw and undercooked. I wouldn’t call that sautéed. Then the salad was very mediocre. I also ordered a side of garlic sauce which instead they gave me what it looked like tzatziki sauce. That sauce was extremely runny and didn’t have much flavor. Needless to say, it all came packed in a box which was messy. The salad ended up on top of the rice pilaf. I guess I will stick to the Mediterranean restaurants that I know, this didn’t make the cut. I won’t come back.

Came here for the first time during lunch. Upon ordering I was asked if I had ever been there before. I hadn’t so the owner I presume explained everything to me and then took my order. You can get wraps, salads and plates. All the food is ready made so you order and the go down the line as they assemble it. I got a plate with garlic chicken, half bulgar half pilaf, garbanzo beans, salad, pita bread, baklava and a cucumber yogurt salad I don’t know the name of off hand. It was a lot of food. A heaping plate of food for only $ 8.95 which is a really good deal. I even shared my plate without prior knowledge of the serving sizes here and it was still a lot of food. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting. I especially liked the salad and baklava! The owner(still presuming) even came by to check on us and ask us how the food was. I will definitely be returning and trying something new. You get a free piece of baklava for checking in. Not gonna lie. It was so good that I ate the piece that came with my meal and the free piece for checking in. The place is clean and when dining in, food is served on plastic dishes with real metal utensils which I liked. Reduces waste and adds to the dining experience for such a casual place.

Mediteranean food cooked to perfection. I had the chicken kabob(great), spicy beef shish, & beef kabob. Sauces are excellent, nice garlic taste. Salad & baklava was excellent! A must eat place — I will be back!

So, if this wasn’t a written review, and a friend asked me, «Hey, I saw that place DOY Grill next to Cold Stone, have you been there?» I would respond, «Uhhh…yeah. It was okay, I mean it was good. Their food is a good price, but Jay wasn’t a big fan… I mean I eat anything, but it doesn’t have much flavor in the beans or rice or something felt missing. Maybe it was the plates, the food is served on a thin styrofoam plate and it just lacked the YUMMO factor.» And then they would walk away, and think, I’m never going to ask Nichole her opinion on a restaurant. She could have simply said, «yeah it was alright, for the price of the food.»

Catering job: Recently had the staff of the Clovis location prepare a tray of traditional Turkish borek as a custom catering job. I was able to work personally with Nev(the owner) and get exactly what I wanted at an extremely reasonable price. The local manager was professional, courteous and bent over backwards to make my wife’s birthday dinner very special. The facility was clean and the food quality was fresh and delicious. Great job to all. Looking forward to many repeat visits.

So I went here Sunday with some of my fellow Unilocalers, Umar and VeeVee. We had just been to Tapioca Express(Review to come) and I did not realize how full I was until after I ordered. We chatted for some time while we were there but I took all my food home to enjoy later. ANDOHBOY, did I enjoy it! The food is hot fresh and the serve you larger than normal portions(even for American Standards). I had a Chicken Kabob, a ground beef and lamb kabob, rice pilaf, green Greek salad and moussaka. Plus, 2 baklava. Everything was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. I’m glad I ate at home because all I kept saying was, mmm, mmmm, this is good! I can’t wait to go back and try more items.

Doy grill is a nice Mediterranean spot to grab a quick but delicious bite to eat. This place does not skimp on anything. The portions are huge here. Service is amazing and the taste is phenomenal. Their baklava is simply the best I’ve ever had. My only hang up with it is that this is the only thing they serve that is too small. Lol!!! But I just buy more of it! I could go on and on and rant and rave about the dill in the salad, or their egg plant moussaka, but I won’t because you guys NEED to go to Doy’s and try it yourself!!!

Again, great staff – excellent MOSAKA eggplant casserole and everything was so good. I’m a real fan and of course when you check-in … BING you get baklava! YUMMYINMAHTUMMY. Thank you Doy Grill again for dinner. :P; Breakdown: Chicken Kabob; rice pilaf, salad, mosaka, humus-pita and garlic sauce! OHMY! This is such a short review because I’m busy eating. The cost was great and doesn’t matter because I really like this place.

The food is delicious. We ordered a little bit of everything because we really wanted to try everything out. There was nothing on the menu I didn’t enjoy. The portions are huge. We have left overs for tomorrow and I am looking forward to it. The kids wanted butter for their Pita bread. No problem! They are happy little customers. I like it and they like it. We will be coming back. The customer service was great! They were very friendly and they explained the menu to us. It’s fast Turkish food with fresh flavors.

Excellent food and excellent service! We were introduced to this great place to eat by some friends of ours and have been there a few times now and never have been let down. Fantastic food with good service. Everything was fresh and right in front of you. I would say it’s like a really good Mediterranean Subway shop. It is healthy and for a very reasonable price. It even comes with baklava for dessert… But it’s a very healthy, small portion. Very awesome! I heard that they are opening a second location and I cannot wait to go back to the Fresno/Clovis area to try it out. The owner has found fantastic staff who are personable and easy to talk to you. Sometimes the accents are a little thick and hard to understand but they are very good about hoping you understand what you are trying/buying. I would go back very often if I could. I wish they would open one up here. Please open a DOYGRILL in Sparks, Nevada! I would go at least every week!

Can’t say enough good things about this local find. First and foremost, I’d like to acknowledge the superior customer service. The staff is warm and inviting. After approaching the ordering counter, I was asked if it was my first visit. Upon confirmation that it was, I was given an overview of the menu and how the ordering process worked. After finishing my meal, my tray was swiftly picked up and I was thanked for dining with them. As I was getting ready to leave, the restaurant manager approached me and asked if I had enjoyed my meal. I informed him that I did and that I’d definitely be returning. He informed me that their meals are prepared fresh with high quality, never frozen ingredients. 5 Stars. The food was excellent. The freshness of the food and the quality of the ingredients was obvious. The salad was refreshing, the bulgur pilaf was out of this world, and my chicken shish with garlic sauce had a great depth of flavor. I was really shocked with how large the portions are– you definitely get a good bang for your buck! 5 Stars.

3.5 Stars! But really give them a chance! You probably would rate them higher but I just am really picky about Mediterranean. Don’t get me wrong I eat everything, but when Grandma makes most of this stuff it’s hard to not be more critical of it. Service= stellar(one free kabob? umm yes! thanks dude!) Portions= huge Timeliness= speedy to the max Food= good… but not great The kabobs are satisfying but the real winner is the eggplant moussaka! And I love that they offer bulgur or pilaf. The garlic sauce was super disappointing. Really watery and could use some salt. Didn’t quite fit the creamy garlic goodness that most garlic sauces have(I know I’m a sauce freak… I love me some condiments). They also include a baby baklava with every combo. It was soggy but that happens when you make things in large quantities. We got a side of hummus and pita. Hummus was heavy on the garlic which I love but the texture was a bit grainy. Overall it’s a good go to for quick food to go when pizza and hamburgers just aren’t fitting the mood. And they give you a one dollar off card for your next visit which is really sweet!

After reading the reviews from my fellow Unilocalers, I wanted to give this place a shot. It was like I expected and well described by the other reviewers. A small family run kind of «fast food Mediterranean«(more like a Pei Wei). The prices were very good for the amount of food in the plate. The variety is not too much but they have the essentials(rice, garbanzo beans and the chicken and beef kebabs). I would not say that the flavours impressed me, but I was pretty satisfied. The complimentary baklava is a plus!!. Something that would make me come back… the service, I like the family owned atmosphere and how the owner interact with the customers. He really makes the place atmosphere. Definitely a place to go for the food and service… not for the restaurant decoration or theme.
