Got the chocolate and cream waffle which was small but a good portion in terms of how much sweetness you get! All in all a decent sugary breakfast located inside the north market!

Their waffle is amazing. Probably the best waffle I’ve ever tasted. So much so I brought a bag to take home with me. It’s not wide but it’s high. And it tastes amazing. It has this sweetness that goes with it. Their chicken and waffle changes lives.

Their Belgian Waffles are to die for! Flavor is more buttery than other waffles I have tasted. Crunchy on the outside and extremely fluffy on the inside — the texture is phenomenal. With each bite, the waffle succumbs to you entirely. This waffle has chosen you. This bite is your moment. This is you. In short, I don’t think I’ve ever had a Belgian waffle taste this good. Be sure to check in for BOGO! ;)

It’s seldom that I am ever speechless. Those who know me, know that if I put something in my mouth and I am speechless– pay attention. It’s either really good or really bad. Ahhhhh, this was really good. Follow these instructions closely. Buy a cup of hot black coffee and then get a fresh Belgian waffle. That’s it. No… seriously, that’s it. No syrup, nothing… just a hot fresh Belgian waffle. Dense but light, crispy outside, little sugar crunches, comfort, peace, therapy, joy. Eggo will become a four letter word. We were so happy with the waffle that we decided to go cray cray. We also ordered a banana: m/Nutella crêpe and a lemon curd lavender crêpe.(Don’t judge, we took some of it home.) The banana Nutella crêpe was good, real good. But the lavender lemon curd was to die for. They make the lemon curd there… I wanted to get a big spoon and eat large quantities of it. The crêpe was a perfect balance of the curd with a dusting of lavender sugar giving it texture and pop. I wanna go back. Now. I want waffles. I want to have a cuddle party with these waffles, the crepes can provide the music. (Also, the people working there we friendly and answered all of my annoying waffle questions).

Mediocre. For a Belgian waffle specialty spot it was just fair at best. Liege waffles done right have crunchy little morsels of pearl sugar throughout. Any possibility of this was left burning on the iron which the cooks were trying to scrape off the iron into a thick black goo. The waffle tasted more like a biscuit rather than yeasty goodness and was seemingly undercooked and dry all at the same time. Not sure how that was even accomplished. My daughter liked hers but it was buried in bananas and Nutella. The berries on mine didn’t taste fresh either. You know when strawberries have been sliced and stuck in the fridge for too long and they get mushy and lose their color. Rather pleased that they were on the small side, as I didn’t desire to finish mine.

The best waffle I’ve ever eaten in my life. TASTE– a gooey soft warm sweet inside like a doughnut and soft sugary outside with a Crunch it’s a dessert. I don’t even enjoy or eat waffles, I was working in Columbus for a week and kept seeing the reviews of this place. I walked up to the counter and asked what the big deal was with these waffles, they have fresh samples out after I tasted it I ate there for the next 2 days & bought some to bring home . Lemon curd lavender sugar crêpe was the Percy tart and sweet I loved it, lavender sugar threw me off for a second though but it was great Ordered the chicken and waffles Lavender sugar and lemon curd crêpe And the to go stacked waffles Positives: made fresh right in front of you ! Negative: fattening o0

We found this place while looking for somewhere close to our hotel to go for breakfast. It’s located inside the North Market, which is a cool place to check out with lots of food vendors and a few other shops. The people working were super friendly and took our orders quickly. I got the brie, apple and turkey waffle sandwich and my fiancé got the chicken and waffles and we both got iced coffees which were delicious. I’m a bit of an iced coffee addict so I love finding a good place when we’re traveling. The food was done quickly and then we dug in. It was absolutely amazing. I don’t know what they do to the waffles to get them so delicious but the outside was almost caramelized while the inside was fluffy. The combination of the brie and apple was amazing and my fiancé said the chicken and waffles were the best he’s had. I highly recommend stopping here, even if it’s just for a plain waffle!

Try their frites! They are made fresh and are insanely good. You can get a side of curry ketchup or chipotle mayo for dipping. I tried the mayo, and highly recommend it. I didn’t even know I could get fries in the N. Market until I overheard my co-workers raving about them. Staff was really cool as well.

Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes. I don’t even know what happened to me when I tried my first sample of Taste of Belgium’s original waffle. Heck, I don’t even usually like waffles! But Taste of Belgium’s waffle is going to be on my mind for quite a long time. As we grabbed a sample walking by, my sister and I didn’t expect anything special. In my opinion, most American waffles are floppy and overly sugary without any depth of flavor, and for this reason, I rarely eat them. However, Taste of Belgium’s waffles could not be further from this paradigm of American waffles I had stuck in my mind. The waffle we tasted was heavenly. Crisp(almost crystallized) on the outside, with a fluffy interior that somehow managed to taste both sweet and savory at the same time. We were in absolute shock. We figured this had to be some sort of specialty waffle on the menu, so my sister asked what it was called. With a small laugh and a grin, the employee said, «We just call it our original waffle.» Needless to say, we immediately decided that we’d be getting dessert here. I was thrilled to find that Unilocal had an offer for buy one get one free waffles at Taste of Belgium(jackpot!) so we promptly ordered two. We decided on the original waffle with powdered sugar along with the banana Nutella waffle. Both were absolutely to die for. The original waffle, as I mentioned before, is pretty close to perfect. I think it may have even been my favorite; it’s so spectacular that it doesn’t require toppings piled on top to make it delicious. However, the Nutella and bananas(of course) added a nice touch. I could eat these waffles until the day I die. Which would be a serious problem, because I would probably be 600 pounds. Worth it? Maybe. These waffles are insane. Try one of the samples and you’ll understand my obsession.

This was my first time going to the North Market Location. I have previously been to the Cincinnati Rookwood and UC campus locations. I didn’t expect much as it is only a mere stand versus the restaurant style in Cincinnati. But however once I got my order(Chicken & Waffles). It tastes just like the ones I get down in Cincinnati. Simply freaking amazing. Best waffles and chicken one could ever get. The guy who made my food was also a blast. Had an awesome conversation with him and he entertained his guests very well.

These are the best waffles I’ve ever had in my life. I highly recommend just the plain waffle as they put a little syrup or sugar on them and when they are warm they are addictive. They’re crisp on the outside and soft and dense, yet not heavy on the inside. If I lived in town I would definitely be back to try more of the flavors and toppings and such, but would be completely content enjoying their plain one any day of the week.

I was in town for a convention and absolutely loved North Market. For breakfast we decided to stop here due to the great reviews. The waffles are absolutely amazing! We loved it so much we came back the next morning too. The first time I had the nutella and banana waffle, it was delicious, but very heavy and sweet. The second day I decided to try one of their waffle sandwiches with turkey, apple and brie. It was the perfect combination. We even grabbed the waffle 4 pack to go for our drive home. Loved it and we will be back! Why 4 and not 5 stars? Well $ 5 per small waffle is a little steep. I do understand it’s Columbus and it’s in North Market. Close to perfect, but not quite there.

If you are going to try only one item here, it has to be the Best of Belgium waffles! It is by far the best Belgium waffle I’ve ever had! And I don’t even like Belgium waffles that much. But when I tried a sample, oh my goodness, I wanted to eat the whole tray! I immediately hand one to my friend, and her eyes lit up and asked where I got that from. As we walked around I knew I had to get something from that place because that was by far the best food that I’ve had tasted in while! As we were watching the donuts being made, which is right across from a Taste of Belgium, I saw my friend eating more samples! Haha I went and got a bri and apple sandwich which was delicious! I then saw the coupon on Unilocal and knew I had to get another waffle. I also got a donut because they looked Devine. After eating the donut, the waffle by far, was way better then the donut. So if you were to pick one item to try at the North Market, it is by far the Belgium waffles. My friend and I already made plans to return the next day to get more! I wish they made breakfast sandwiches with the waffles!

Hands down the best waffle I have ever eaten! Unbelievable — where have you been all my life?! If regular waffles came Out this way – we’d all be a lot fatter for eating so any of these delicious morsels. The waffles are not as big as you might expect but they are dense, crunchy and full of amazing flavor. Excellent excellent excellent! No syrup was included and at first I was a little disappointed when they handed me a half-sized waffle in a napkin – until I finally bit into almost-Caramelized tasting waffle – and I was in love at first bite. It is beyond ridiculous how good these are. Now you can(and my friend did) get them with ridiculous toppings – for instance, whipped cream, and an abundance of fruit. But that’s like putting toppings on a steak that doesn’t need anything. Yes yes it is that good. Be sure to check in before ordering on Unilocal because after we checked in – it Offered us a coupon for buy 1 waffle and get 1 Free!

Um, have you tried the chicken and waffles from here? While you might be OD’ing on HCT located in the second level of the North Market, please, please give this dish on the first floor a try soon! The premise is simple: waffle + pounded and fried chicken cutlet + maple syrup + hot sauce. But, Taste of Belgium’s perfectly executed dish is… sublime. The waffle is thick, crumbly, with both savory and sweet notes. The chicken is well-seasoned, juicy, tender, AND crispy. The syrup is local. The hot sauce adds all the right heat. I mean, just writing this review makes me hungry for it again. So, while HCT is most excellent, please don’t discount the chicken and waffles here!!! #cbusfriedchicken

They do one thing and they do it well – waffles. Go for the waffles and you won’t be disappointed. I’ve always gotten hot, fresh, crispy on the outside and just-right dense dough-y on the inside. My preference is for the plain waffle – nothing fancy, but it always hits the spot. They always have samples which is just enough to wet the palate for what’s to come. Happy waffle-ing! :)

After stopping in at Taste of Belgium again with my girlfriend and trying a few more options, I have to lower my rating to three stars. The Belgian waffles are solid quality but almost too sweet. I’ve had the plain, chocolate and cream, and fruit and cream but none have stood out above the others. At $ 5 a piece for small waffles they’re overpriced, and after trying the crepes, I have to say that they are not very good. Both crepes I’ve tried have been mediocre. The cinnamon and honey was very plain with almost no cinnamon flavor, no dusting of powdered sugar, and plain honey. The service has been very friendly, but the food has been average to me.

I won’t lie– their waffle is perfection. Great texture without losing their fluffiness. It taste great too! But the portions are TINY and I really can’t justify paying that much for something so small. Their turkey crêpe doesn’t taste bad, but there’s nothing special about it. A bit on the soggy side.
