This is basically a pizza place. Good but not great. Good take out place but decent red sauce Italian dishes. Pizza is good.

Amazing food… The pizza menu is outstanding! Everything you would expect, but better than the normal pizza place… Wether you’re looking for a good meal or just a GREaT slice, this is your place!

Best take out linguine in white clam sauce my wife has had in a loooong time. Their balsamic chicken is also great. I think their entrees are better than thier pizza which is fine with me.

*BUTTERNUTSQUASHRAVIOLIWITHCRANBERRIES&MANICOTTICREAMANDWINESAUCE*… do I even need to proceed? Not really I could stop here and as long as someone read the first sentence that Unilocal shows as you scroll down, you can message me a «thank you» later. Tonight my sister her bf my niece & cousin said to meet them here, I’d never heard of the place before. It was an unexpected treat to go to an Italian restaurant that offered something different. How many times can you go to an Italian restaurant and order chicken parmesan? It can’t be that much earth shatteringly better one place to another. But this was refreshing, the butternut squash ravioli was incredibly good. They also have free bruchetta and garlic knots served with a big bottle of grease so you can pry open the greasy garlic knot and pour in some extra grease and sprinkle in some of the diced tomatoes like a pre-dinner Italian taco. The desserts were wonderful too. The only complaint at the table was my sisters chicken which was the last dish to come out yet was somehow still fleshy and«nervy» and although we were herded back to a portion of the restaurant that’s under construction so a canvas curtain was hanging, making us feel like we were backstage at an Italian opera, nobody minded and we had a lovely meal.

The pizza and the garlic knots are the best. Have yet to find a pizza place garlic knots that can even compare to la scalas. Small place, but great italian food. Owner and workers are extremely nice and welcoming. Usually busy in the evening so order ahead.

I have to say pizza at la scala is really good, But I dont appreciate the costomers that are rude to others while waiting for pizza. But I will keep returning to la scala because food is so good.

Who doesn’t love La Scala? It’s by far the best pizza in the area — from the regular slice, to the Sicilian slice, to the amazing chicken Marsala slice, I’ve never been let down. The garlic knots are to die for. Garlicky and oily just like they should be. My family is a huge fan of their heroes too. The shrimp parm hero is my dad’s favorite and the chicken parm hero is a staple in our order. My only complaint is the lack of any kind of line control whatsoever in the front of the house. La Scala deserves to be busy for sure, but sometimes it’s just utter chaos on a busy night. Not asking them to slow down service, but they need an expediter at the front of the house to keep some order. Hopefully the upcoming expansion will help with the issue!

I love the pizza here. Been coming here for at least 30 years since I was a kid. It does get busy at times at the counter but hey when you have a good product that’s what happens.

Delicious local Italian joint… Fresh food and a diverse menu…(some real exciting pasta dishes) The front is a pizza parlor and the back is a nice sit down restaurant Lunch or Dinner is a steal here, a nice flow of customers and friendly staff

I have since been contacted by the owner who apologized for my treatment. The owner did stand behind the double charge for the topping even though it wasn’t explained or posted anywhere. As a conciliation they have put my name in the book to receive a free pie with fresh mushrooms. We will gladly accept the pie. Will we order from and do business with this restaurant again? Possibly but we will never again order mushrooms from them. The owner was responsible in reaching out to me to find out more about what happened and to try to find an agreeable solution. They did however agree either because it made sense, or to get me to go away to reevaluate their pricing structure on things like toppings.

Best pizza ever. Staff is so friendly and the pizza is amazing. If the parking lot was so crazy I’d come here a lot more. Every time my friends and I want pizza we go here. It’s also a little small in the pizzeria part but somehow we always manage to get seats.

One of my Italian restaurants in the hills. I grew up in dix hills and usually go here every time I go home to visit my parents. Their pizza, eggplant parm, pene alla vodka and salads are all awesome. They also have a decently sized dinning area in the back which is very cutely decorated and perfect for a family dinner. Consistently good Italian food in the Dic Hills neighborhood!

my friend Lauren was visiting from Florida and I have been told there isn’t a decent slice to be found down there. Lauren tells me we MUST go to La Scala so here we come its in a very unassuming strip mall so typical of Long Island and horrible parking situation people fighting for spots when you walk in it looks like just a slice shop till you walk through a little hall and there is a peaceful warm regular restaurant front hustle bustle and cold front glass cases filled with all sorts of slices and they look tasty. But my pal say we must indeed order sicilian slices they are good crispy edge crust very mild tomato sauce and a decent size shhh don’t tell Lauren the pizza is fine but blow me away fine no, there are better slices to be found elsewhere 2 slices and two sodas $ 9.45 we were told tables in the back NOT for slices unless table is not set we found a nice two seater in back it was warm and cozy

We used to go here all the time to have dinner in the restaurant before it was renovated. The owner knew us and would come to the table and explain all the specials in detail. You could tell she really cared. She treated the employees with respect and the service and food was always great. Have been there several times after the renovation and although the menu is similar, the service and food have not been the same. The tables are too close together and it is very chaotic. Have done take out a couple times since then, pizza is too doughy and the sauce has been fancied up with too many spices or something. It is not as good as 10 years ago. Pasta tends to be overcooked. Ordered the linguini with white clam sauce for my husband, he said it was awful. The high school kids working at the front need to be more supervised. Bring back the old recipes and the old LaScala of 10 years ago! I want to love them but I’m not sure I’ll go back.
