Pretty good for mall food. I don’t come here that often, but if you have a craving it will hit the spot. The first time the meat became a little dry. And the second time the sauce was on the salty side. So depending on your likes and dislikes… make sure to speak up and let them know what you want.

And now they’re closed! No wonder, they’ve consistently raised prices and reduced bowl sizes and amount of noodles. No love lost!

Charged my credit card $ 32.76 for a what should have been $ 3.70 for extra noodles. I added the noodles after seeing the measly amount they tossed into my veggies. Don’t bother calling, they don’t answer. The food was super pricey & I felt like crap an hour after eating. Never again. I was hungry & would have been better off with a McDonalds mystery meat hamburger, both financially & health wise. I should have checked my Contra Costa Co. Food Inspector App. before hitting this dump. The number of health violations they’ve been issued is freaking scary. Lucky for me my credit card company already reversed the charge. Scammers.

Last week my family and I came here for dinner after running some errands. We were all hungry usually this place is really great and on top of everything but for some reason this particular night they were out of most of their toppings when we informed the staff it took quite a while for them to refill the empty toppings. While my family was almost done eating the toppings were finally refilled. Also this place used to be pretty affordable but now it’s about pricey for one meal.

I’d not what it once was. Price is too expensive for what it is. A small bowl for $ 9.95?! Cashier was very rude and not helpful. We asked her a question and she just looked at us and did not respond. She was not willing to help. As for the cooks, they weren’t friendly at all. The food was ok. There is hardly any noodles anymore. And the texture of the noodles seem smaller and cheaper. It’s sad to say because I used to love this spot. Now I don’t want to eat here anymore.

I came to Sunvalley Mall to run a few errands and decided to eat here because it is one of my dad’s favorite spots to eat at when he comes to visit. I ordered my food and asked for 3 cups of water(my twin toddlers and me) and everything was going fine.10 minutes after our food was ready, I reminded the owner that I’d asked for water. After another 5 minutes, he yelled from across the restaurant ‘your water is ready!‘ I got up and went to get the water cups for my children and I but told him it was really bad costumer service to make me get up from the table to get my water, especially after it had taken them over 15 minutes after my food was ready to fill 3 cups of water. His response was ‘this is not a restaurant, it’s a self service place’ and this is coming FROMTHEOWNER! A couple minutes after that conversation, he tried to pick an argument asking why was I looking at him. Honestly, he was lucky I was with my kids, otherwise I would’ve thrown the food at his face. WORSTCOSTUMERSERVICE. Someone that treats their costumers like this shouldn’t own a business especially not a restaurant.

Was really looking forward to this all day, been going for years. But right when we got in like at 652, the rude a$$ ratchet at the register just straight said were closed and waived us away with her hand. That’s NOT ok. I get it, you’re almost closed. But key word, almost. Not to mention, there were already multiple people in line, plus at the grill. So why stop at us? You’re technically not closed yet. Won’t ever be going back here again. It Must be not be a good day for that cashier chick, saw a similar review from another guy mentioning her tude as well. Sorry your job sucks lady, but taking it out on customers is a retail nono.

Every time I go to the mall and pass by this place, I just have to get some. The aroma is too strong for me to ignore, just yummy! Only down side, the small bowl is $ 11 so they raised the price.

I’m from the Los Angeles area and was looking for something close to the Gengis Khan from my area so I came across this little place and unfortunately was completely dissatisfied. To begin with the food was overpriced for the quality. Yes you get add as many extra ingredients as you can fit but they stiff you on the noodles. Second the customer service was horrible. I understand it’s more of a fast food joint, however the set up made it incredibly difficult to serve the food and there was no one to help pour the sauces therefore causing major cross contamination in the containers. And lastly the grill was incredibly dirty and needed to be scraped but the cooks left sections of food for the customers sitting there. The teriyaki sauce looked unappetizing and the char from the grill was inevitably in people’s food.

This place is not so bad, I eat here sometimes when I am shopping at the mall. Came here last night since I didn’t have time to eat before shopping. The line to order takes a long time but once you get your tray and bowl, it moves pretty fast. I try to add as much meat and veggies as possible to get the most food in my bowl by trying to arrange them in a way where they will be able to hold up while moving through the line. I usually order 1 bowl to share with my friend. I do get teriyaki sauce but they give you too much sometimes. I like the lamb but they do NOT have it all the time. I don’t mind eating here when I am hungry or have a craving for fast and greasy food with too much sauce.

Very disappointed. It’s fairly expensive for Mongolian BBQ and you only get 1 bowl and a nagging sign saying not to push down the curly slices of frozen meat. If you’re going to charge $ 12 for a bowl of what is basically chow mein it had better be good. Unfortunately the noodles looked like they’d been soaked in some orangish oil and were pretty terrible having a soggy texture and way too salty. The selection of vegetables and sauces was pretty poor. On top of that the ergonomics of the sneeze guard was really bad making it very uncomfortable to get anything in the back row. By the standards of either Mongolian BBQ or mall Chinese food this place is overpriced and substandard.

My go to place for salty noodles with nary a shred of actual nutritional value. But yet, oh so delicious.

As far as mall food goes, you could do a lot worse! The other Asian options at Sun Valley have unfortunately bit the dust over the years and this is the one that remains, and judging by the long lines, it is still plenty appreciated. Two sizes of BBQ bowls are offered, and their smaller size for $ 10 was plenty for me to make a satisfying lunch. Slices of frozen meat are a bit creepy at first but it’s all part of the experience. I loaded up my bowl with slices of chicken and a variety of veggies like carrots, broccoli, celery, bean sprouts and green peppers. I brought it home with small ladles of oyster sauce & medium spicy drizzle, plus a scoop of garlic just because. Around the corner you offer your bowl to the BBQ chef, and they have a great system for keeping track of everyone’s order. I added their teriyaki sauce when asked, and with the additiion of noodles, my meal was ready in less than 5 minutes and was quite tasty! Fresh veggies with an asian flair is a pretty darn good treat when grabbing a bite amidst the shopping. I’m happy to have this place as a tasty non-fried-food option at my local mall!

Not bad food, however, why do you guys use styrofoam to feed all your customers? Each meal comes hot off the grill into a styrofoam container, not only is this material challenging to recycle but worse is that it slightly melts and might be leeching toxic chemicals into the food. I suggest the management discontinue any use of styrofoam and switch to cardboard or reusable dishes. Or at least give us a choice what container we want. They already have ceramic dishes that you use to choose these ingredients but do not serve in such dishes off the grill.

My co-worker recommended this place …so i decided to try with my boyfriend today. The place was crowded for a weekend night. …luckily my boyfriend called in to reserve our table… We had a great time and i have to say my tummy had a great time too. Food was delicious! I think we were all over to our heads about choices of what we should eat first and what what we should avoid over-stuffing ourselves. Then when it comes to what should we BBQ? that’s when we got crazy! I like the fact that you can choose the sauces for flavoring… as for me, sweet teriyaky sauce. Thanks to my co-corker, i know another good-nite-out restaurant…

I know it cannot be healthy, but this is where we eat every.single.time we are at Sun Valley and suddenly starving. I can’t help it, it’s soooo good(most of the time). Sure, the floor usually needs to be swept, and some of the tables are left unbussed. And DAYUM, can it get busy on the weekends. And it gets LOUD, keep that in mind. But, mongolian BBQ though. I make sure to get lots of veggies to try to convince myself that it’s healthy, lol. I like the beef for the protein, it’s always good except when you get lots of fatty parts, ew. To recap: cheap-ish place to get lunch when you are shopping that is yummy and easy to get to.

Since my last review I have been diagnosed with many medical issues that caused me to have to go on a gluten-free vegan diet. I was really scared to come here due to cross contamination potential, but I hadn’t been here in a while and decided to give it another try. When I started walking up I noticed they had just cleaned the grill and got very disappointed since the only way I was going to be able to eat there was if they cooked my food on a clean grill. I asked the cashier lady if I could get the grill cleaned before my food was cooked due to severe allergies, she turned around, and asked one of the cooks, and he said yes! I was so happy so I filled up my bowl with tons of fresh veggies, got a side of rice, and made my way to the grill where he proceeded to scrape it all down, and clean it, then cook my food all by itself! I was very impressed that’s why I had to bump this place up to 4 stars. They were very accommodating. I will definitely be returning for more Mongolian!

Always had excellent food here(but of course, you get to pick what food goes into the«BBQ»). I’ve always liked the lamb as my protein of choice, and the sweet/spicy sauce combo is my favorite. Be sure to STUFF your bowl with food — they’ll find a way to fit the noodles on top! I always add the teriyaki sauce as they sauté the food, and I love that they serve it in styrofoam containers so you don’t need to worry about finishing the whole thing! Great place to have a catch-up meal with old friends.

I haven’t been to a Great Khan for such a long time, and I thought it was only in So. Cal. However, this one is different from the others. You don’t have to worry about stacking up the noodles because they do it for you so you’ll get a good amount. They also have a variety of sauces so you can customize the flavor from no spicy to super spicy, and the vegetables are fresh. I still prefer Mad Wolf( ), but this place is good to satisfy your Mongolian BBQ fix.
