Terrible place dont come here waited about 40 minutes for a horrible soggy sandwich. This place is a joke.

Cute, pretentious, and over-priced. Went here for lunch with the family, and something on the menu that sounded good to everyone(always a plus). Also loved that their side options for sandwiches included potato salad, coleslaw, and salads. I went with the crab and shrimp sandwich: the seafood salad was good, but too much bread and not enough filling.(Maybe try making it an open face sandwich.). My brother’s turkey melt was really good. My niece’s «kid’s cheese pizza» looked like something from the frozen foods section of your local grocery store. And that was maybe the most pretentious server ever. He made us feel unwelcomed(like maybe we needed to dress in heels, bring our dogs, and order champagne), and like ever minute he was a our table was a waste of his precious time. Asshole.

I was by myself, walking back from the beach to the ferry and I stopped in here for lunch around 2:30. There was room on the patio(sidewalk) and I was welcomed and seated immediately. I ordered the cobb salad which arrived quickly with a large glass of water with lemon. When the waitress brought me a water refill she also brought another large slice of lemon which I appreciated. The salad was large with a nice variety of toppings including: avocado, olives, hard boiled egg, moist chicken and crumbled bacon. I asked for plain oil and vinegar to dress it myself. Everything was fresh and bright. It is a nice spot to linger and watch the world go by. Excellent experience.

A friend and I just dined at Tent City; I am a local and this was my first visit. We were seated on the sidewalk by a nice host who asked for our drink order. Several minutes later our server, Diego, arrived and confirmed our drink order; he also took our food order which consisted of the Tent City Special, and my friend ordered the Baja Shrimp Omelette. A few minutes later our drinks arrived, coffee and orange juice, but no sweeteners were brought for the coffee, although creamer was on the table. Approximately 10 minutes later, our server, Diego returned to check on our table and I requested sweetener for my coffee. Diego returned with a caddy that contained multiple artifical sweeteners, but only two regular sugars. Approximately 15 minutes later our food arrived. The order was correct, but no salt and pepper were brought to the table, although, ketchup and Tabasco were brought. The overall flavor of the meal was decent; however, one slice of bacon was very well-done, one piece was almost raw and the other piece was cooked perfectly(Goldie locks and the three bears came to mind). Once we finished our meal it took several minutes to receive the check, and about another 10 minutes for Diego to return the credit card, so we could finally depart. All-in-all the service was subpar, with no attention-to-detail and the food was mediocre. My observation is the staff require additional training and the management team needs to spend more time on the floor engaging guests. Based upon this experience, it is unlikely that I will return to Tent City, as there are many other great options in the local area.

We were in Coronado for the weekend and were looking forward to breakfast/brunch on our way out of town. The menu looked great but after being left at the hostess stand for 10 minutes we had to try to locate someone to see if we could be seated. We were told we needed to wait to be seated only to sit at a dirty table when they did finally seat us. Once seated no one acknowledged us until we finally flagged a waiter down to ask if anyone could at least get us coffee. We ordered and while the food was great the service was horrible and horrendously slow. I would recommend Tent City for the food but definitely not for the service… Be prepared to wait.

My mom and I were looking for a quick bite before going to see a Lamb’s Players play and this place didn’t look too packed. As soon as we stepped up to the door the waitress told us we could sit wherever we wanted, so we settled over by a window and proceeded to stare at each other for the next ten minutes. We were never given menus and the waitress kept whizzing past without so much as a glance. Naturally, we ended up just picking up our purses and walking down to La Salsa, a much better option anyway. If that’s how they regularly deal with customers it’s a wonder they’ve stayed in business. Needless to say I will never attempt to dine there again.

We ate here on a Wednesday afternoon and we were able to be seated outside right away(it wasn’t busy). The hostess and waitress were very friendly! Having two children under three, we strive to eat at places that are kid-friendly. If you eat outside, it is definitely kid AND dog friendly. Appetizer– we got the spinach artichoke dip, although it was more of a cheese dip w/pieces of artichoke and spinach. Meals– We ordered the special(bison burger), crab/shrimp sandwich, two pineapple juices, and two kids meals. Bison burger was great! Nothing extraordinary, but it did its job. Crab/sandwich was pretty good, although I would’ve preferred the crab to not have been shredded. All in all, our total bill was $ 56 and I would’ve expected more for that price. I guess that’s the price you pay for the location of your lunch!

We always go here for lunch when we go to Coronado. I always get the same 2 things — their salad with the golden raisins and the quiche. Everyone I’ve ever taken here has liked it too. Service can sometimes be a little lacking, but it’s a small place and I’m sure the staff it busy. The food is very good and very consistent.

Went to this spot for brunch today as it was just a quick stroll down from the hotel and has nice patio seating. I was not impressed and here’s why: 1.) service was extremely slow. It took over 10 minutes to get our drinks, then they forgot my orange juice. 2) Ordered eggs Benedict. It was coldish and the eggs were super done when I asked for a soft poach. Hollandaise was just ok, not great but not awful. 3) patio has no heaters, which is silly 4) again service was really slow. We had to bring our bills in to get them processed. Manager standing around doing nothing while tables were left unattended because the waitstaff was over stretched. Nothing irritates me more than seeing mangers lurking and not helping. I’m up-ing my review to three stars because after this review management contacted me to discuss my experience in greater detail and rectify the experience.

Tomato basil soup was really good. And the tuna appetizer was great too. My husband loved the Mediterranean appetizer. Great spot in Coronado.

I hate having to do this. Their tortilla soup was more minestrone with uncooked spices, the stick texture kinds. I will forgive you if I end up here again and like another meal, but the likelihood is slim.

I love the food here. I have been here several times over the last few years and have never had a bad experience. Service has always been friendly and prompt and no complaints on that end. It’s a cool triangle spot to people watch on sunny days, which are plentiful, and it’s a good spot to eat lunch minus the Coronado prices. The only two places I eat on the island are Tent City and McP’s(still my favorite). The chipotle chicken panini is amazing. The panini’s are massive and definitely will fill two people up. There’s also a spot to sift inside if you’re chilly in the winter but overall good outdoor lunch spot.

My favorite place to eat when I am on Coronado. I absolutely love the pot pie. I get it every single time I am here and am never disappointed unless they sell out. The Cesar salad on the side is a nice compliment to the hearty pie. The bruschetta is a must try for an appetizer. And for dessert, the bread pudding is really good.

My Mom, son and I stopped in for breakfast here. The waitresses were friendly, my iced latte was perfect, and the food was awesome. My mom and I both had the Eggs Benedict with medium poached eggs. I don’t know about you, but for me I’ve learned it’s tricky to poach eggs to a medium consistency. These were perfect. The hollandaise sauce was rich, and not too salty. My son’s eggs and bacon were almost all gone, so that spoke for itself. I will be going back to try their fresh green juice and check out the store/museum. The atmosphere was comfortable and the visit was memorable to say the least :)

Friendly servers, delicious food, classy bohemian-french atmosphere in the heart of Coronado island. Definitely worth a visit. Well-located, right on the corner of orange Ave and Park Place with nice views on Orange Ave with its palm trees and the surrounding area. Inside and outside seating, with large windows overlooking both streets in the interior. I highly recommend the rosemary chicken sandwich.

Pros: –Great location –Yellowtail on draft Cons: –I got food poisoning from their tuna sandwich. I ate nothing else that day b/c right after I had the sandwich my stomach was on fire. From there it was hell. –FLIES everywhere! –It’s really dirty. Sticky table, floor with food all over it, and the bathrooms are utterly disgusting(no soap or paper towels — how do the servers was THEIR hands?!) –Service was so slow and terrible. We never had a dedicated server just ppl we had to pluck aside when we got tired of waiting 15 minutes for something. –The menu is so dull. Wraps and sh***y sandwiches, and they still can’t make them taste good. I used to like this place but there are so many other options. For me the biggest concern here is health and sanitation. It’s disgusting.

Walked by Tent City on our way to the beach and stopped in for a quick lunch. The menu was pretty standard and agreeable for everyone. I opted for the Tuna Salad sandwich and a side caesar. The sandwich was pretty good, the tuna salad was flavorful and didn’t seem like it had been made weeks in advance. My only complaint for the sandwich was that there was a lot of bread. I left big chunks on the plate and focused on the contents of the sandwich a bit more. The side caesar was fine. Service was decent. It was nice to sit outside and people watch on such a beautiful day.

Food is slightly above average, with some unique options. Friendly waiter, nice location and patio, but in the afternoon shade, so bring a jacket. Chicken tortilla casserole was mostly noodles and cheese; chicken pot pie was hearty. Both were too hot, boiling coming straight out of the oven. California salad was unique and tasty. Crab and shrimp salad sandwich tasted good, but the roll was a little too thick. Plentiful and fresh iced tea and lemonade.

So many places to dine down here. Skip this one. Pedantic, boring, tasteless crap! # no omelettes after breakfast ## ciabatta factory-baked bread. Might as well be military grade rations survival pack. ## house made chips are soggy and cold. Come on guys. They just don’t care here and with the flocks of tourists, new faces will keep this place packed. it’s only Unilocal that can help you find the gems. Tent city is not one of them.

I got the braised short rib. I do a lot of braising myself, and thus, do a lot of microwaving of leftovers. This, my friends, was microwaved braised beef(it even had the overly-microwaved-scorched sections as evidence). I can’t say that I blame them(they can’t exactly do a daily 9 hour braise in the hopes that on the off chance someone might order it here), but Tom Colicchio would’ve been ashamed. The flavor was okay, the technical piece of it was not. I do like that they have a dog-friendly twinkle-lit patio.
