THEWORSTSERVICE over and over again. I have been here about 6 times as it is convenient and the food is fairly good. Each time I eat here the manager reduces our bill due to poor service. How does this place stay in business? How can a frisee/beet salad get to the table and not have beets? How many times do we have to ask for our wine, HOT coffee(allegedly just brewed) and lukewarm, bordering on cold, eggs. McDonald’s provides better service! No apologies from waitperson… she seemed utterly lost, confused and could care less.(Think they pulled her out of the lingerie department to pitch in!!) I am only giving this a one star as it is required to click on something!

My girlfriend recommended this restaurant and I always completely miss it upon my visits to the mall. It’s spacious and perfect for a weekday visit(especially w/a stroller) — the reason why I wanted to visit. It wasn’t crowded, and I love the wide walkways to get around w/my stroller. Too bad it didn’t have more natural light. I like the idea of tapas — trying a few different dishes. My favorite was the cilantro lime chicken tacos — simple yet tasty. The scallop risotto was actually very good as well. And we also shared the tomato salad w/burrata — fresh but somewhat ordinary.

A little hidden gem. Owned by Nordstrom so it is located in the back of the store, upstairs. A little weird but we decided to give it a shot. From first arrival we were greeted so friendly by a gentlemen I assume was the manager by his attire. A female server(cannot remember her name) gave us wine samples based off preference of white wine. Chicken tacos were tiny and delicious according to my best friend. I had the sweet potato fries with a sweet & spicy sauce. Yum. And the roasted cauliflower had raisins and croutons with a perfect aioli. We were visiting out of state, but I would defiantly go back if I had the option.

This place is an unexpected treat inside Nordstrom. Perfect for a long, chatty lunch or dinner with your best friends or a date. Everything is made to be shared, but the portions are still decent. It’s also quite affordable. My husband and I went here and ordered 6 things plus 3 drinks(1 beer, two higher-end glasses of wine) for under $ 100(a bit more after a 20% tip). What to get: — Beet salad — perfect fresh starter — Sweet potato fries — the cilantro dip is SOYUMMY… we were sorta fighting over the last of it ;) — Chicken tacos — crispy, 4 small tacos with flavorful shredded chicken, cheese and veggies — Risotto — Gnocchi — Dessert! The cream brûlée is to die for. Lots of gluten-free options, which are all marked. The tacos and fries aren’t technically GF, but if you have a mild sensitivity like me and can eat foods from a fryer that *might* pick up a little trace of gluten, you’re good. Biggest tip: don’t drink too much wine if the store will still be open after you leave the restaurant… you might shop til you drop, literally.

The food is really delicious here– It’s nice because it’s tapas style, so you can pick out a couple dishes and try different things. The portions are great and makes it perfect for tasting and sharing. I like the cilantro lime chicken tacos as well as the calamari. the brussel sprouts are awesome. If you have a kid who doesn’t like vegetables, or hell – if you don’t like vegetables. try this. it’s so good! I wish they would bring the pork sliders back. They had it when they first opened the restaurant. The only downfall is the service is a little lacking. The food comes out in a timely manner, so it’s not the kitchen, but the waiting staff tends to us… NEVER. It always takes forever to get our bill, a refill on a drink, or to ask for napkins or something. It’s not usually a problem because when we eat there it’s usually while we’re just relaxing and going shopping, but it is annoying to always have to call the waiter/waitress over to get anything.

This place was great. Everything I got was well prepared and looked very nice. the server was very accommodating and friendly. I came here later and alone since hubby had to work and was treated respectfully. This does not come often as servers often treat me less than equal since I won’t be as big as a tip as others. I got the tempura shrimp and the Brussels sprouts. Both were seasoned and cooked quite well. I liked their variation of cocktail sauce that came with the tempura. the Brussels sprouts were flavorful but I think could have used a dipping sauce. The also had bread and oil out as well. I don’t get why anyone would care if they asked if you worked in a store. Last time I checked Nord’s is an upscale store and not a store for laborers. Too sensitive.

Like many of my other reviews lately, the chefs suffer with a 2 star rating because the waitstaff is so bad. My friend and I were shopping at Nordstrom and decided to eat at the Blue Stove as it was a first time there for both of us. We each ordered the kale salad which was amazing. We then split the Szechuan(sp?) chicken with lettuce wrappers. Both the salads and the lettuce wrappers were AMAZING!!! What lost it for us was our server. No attention at all from him. My friend never got her iced tea, but he charged for it. When we told him about it, there was no apology. Just oh well, I’ll take it off the bill. Ridiculous! Won’t return and that’s a shame.

I don’t know what more I could have asked for here. Terrific service(thanks Colleen!), perfectly prepared risotto AND scallops and a lively glass of So. African Chenin blank to complement it. Felt like I was on vacation instead of lunch break from shopping and errands… and Nordie points!

Salad is ridiculously tiny. For $ 8.95 I expected the lettuce to at least cover the plate. I wouldn’t come to this restaurant hungry, but I’d highly recommend coming here if you’re on a diet!

After being«on the road» for a few weeks we finally took the sous-chef of BlueStove up on his offer to make things up to us and headed to restaurant last Saturday(7⁄11). My review on Unilocal as well as some conversations with the restaurant had not gone unnoticed as we expected and our waiter(sorry if I misspell) Moses rolled out the proverbial red carpet with the words«we will take good care of you » … the sous chef had already announced that he would like us to enjoy some of the dishes on him and our Moses reiterated that. Feeling slightly uncomfortable with accepting free food we made it clear that we had every intention to leave some money behind — which we did in the form of a small beverage bill and a tip for our waiter. The tapas that were brought to our table(either ordered or not) included Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos, Ricotta Meatballs, Toasted Gnocchi, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Rémoulade and the Roasted Garlic Chicken. The dishes were tasting excellent, fresh and looked very appetizing. The chicken was tender, the gnocchi was excellent and done even get me started on the ricotta meatballs. If I would have to put in one negative thing about the food it would be that the Crab Cakes were a little to peppery for my taste — but I may be oversensitive to that spice. In short: the food was great and the service we received was top notch and we will definitely go back for more soon. This all being said I have to mention that the only thing that would make this an even better place to dine is if its closing time was not tied to the opening hours of the Nordstrom.

Hungry but not too hungry? Craving a little something-something to tide you over until your next meal? Then don’t walk, RUN to the Blue Stove over at Nordstrom in Corte Madera! This place is wonderful! Not really a place for a full on meal, but little plates of delightful snacks! The ambience is a bit darkish but also oh so relaxing if you are out shopping with the crowds and need a place to cool your jets for a few. You can also imbibe on wines and beers to refresh and get ready for the next round of shopping. We were greeted by an older gentleman who sat us near the window with a view of the whole restaurant. It is smallish with the kitchen at one end and dimly lit with dark stained wood interior. We chose to share the beet salad(dressing on the side) which was yummy and the butter and garlic Brussels sprouts which were lip smacking good! We washed everything down with a little bit of beer and ice water. Complimentary bread with olive oil and olives wet our appetites while waiting for our food. For dessert, the waiter suggested the Chocolate Mousse covered with a chocolate sauce which was out of this world! We felt refreshed and ready to go after our meal. Our waiter was great, coming around just enough to fill glasses and ask if everything was alright. He was in a good mood and we never felt rushed or that we weren’t given enough attention. I can’t wait to go back for that dessert and another enjoyable meal at the Blue Stove! :D

We were initially put off by the hostess who looked us up and down and seemed puzzled we were there waiting to be seated. Thankfully, our waiter was very professional and did a great job making us feel welcome. The view was nothing to speak about but the food was excellent. We had the pan seared cod, BBQ shrimp and brussels sprouts and everything was delicious. Would have loved to try more dishes but we had just stopped for a snack on our way north so had to be on our way. Look forward to visiting again!

So far I’ve came here for lunch twice with a coworker and both times have been very good. My lunch breaks are not too relaxed so I have to watch the time when I’m out and about. I usually tell the server I’m on a lunch time crunch and the servers are pretty good at getting our tapas out at a timely matter. I’ve had the following tapas style at blue stove: Calamari — nice and crisp, not too oily Chicken tacos — first time having these were good but second time tasted a bit sweet for my taste Garlic Chicken w/arugula salad — chicken was cooked to perfection and very yummy Korean BBQ short ribs– Delish! Sweet potato frites– can’t stop eating these My only complaint is I wish they had bigger windows to look out at.

I know it’s odd to fathom but this restaurant/wine bar attached to the Village Nordstrom is rather exceptional. The food is served Tapas style which allows you to get a taste of far more dishes than you would normally. The scallops with risotto and green beans is my personal favorite currently. The wine list has an extensive number of different varietals that pair well with the ever rotating seasonal food menu. The Stats Leap Chardonnay pairs especially well with all the chicken and seafood options. The service is quite good and the manager, Danny, is quick to ensure that your every need is met. Parking is easy given the large parking lots connected to the Village. Finally there is gorgeous view of Mount Tam from a number of seats in the restaurant so enjoy this hidden and unlikely gem before the word gets out.

I was fasting all day and needed food stat. The tapas were packed with flavor and the service was quick. I had corn and poblano hash that tasted great and cod + lentils which was good. My husband was over the moon with his chicken lime tacos and braised short rib gnocchi. For dessert we shared a cobbler and coffee. Ambience was quiet and relaxing(not normally the case with tapas places) and the view was great too. Ask for Dean. He gave great suggestions.

Delightful place that is tucked away at Nordstrom’s at the Village. While they pack in the mallbodies at Cheesecake Factory, you can sneak into Blue Stove for delightful small plates that are big on flavor and won’t break the bank. Their hummus made with cauliflower(!) — an amazing dish — is sadly not on the menu now, but you can construct amazing combos around abundantly flavored cilantro lime chicken tacos(tiny, but so much goodness); Korean BBQ Short Rib Steamed Buns(the Steamed Bun part is a recent add; these were sliders, but the combo works so much better with the pork bun-like dough included here); caramelized brussels sprouts with roasted garlic butter; and irresistible sweet potato frites with cilantro lime aioli. The service is friendly, food arrives quickly(in general), and the surprising view(given you’re eating in a mall, after all) provides a near-postcard view of Mt. Tam. One substantial issue, costing them a star, is that a late dinner(late by Village Mall standards, anyhow) created execution issues — the food wasn’t nearly as good, some silverware wasn’t clean, and there was the palpable sense that everyone working wanted to go home. The store was closed when we left, so it gets awkward if you don’t eat a real early dinner.

Here’s a surprise. A restaurant in a department store. The really surprising part to me was how good the food and service were. The down side is that those little dishes add up to a lot. After gnoshing our way through most of the menu it became apparent that even dishes that didn’t seem to do it flavor wise were at least backed up with good ingredients. Most of the dishes however had good flavor and good ingredients.

My friends and I wanted a snack, so we decided to go to Nordstrom to get our usuals at the café. To our surprise, it was Blue Stove. We checked out the menu and decided to was worth trying. I ordered the chicken lettuce cups for myself. Other orders included chicken tacos, polenta fries, and steak. I really liked the lettuce cups that came with stir-fried chicken. The chicken had a lot of flavor, stir-fried in a Szechuan style. The polenta fries were good too, and very fragrant with the rosemary. I also had a Riesling which was dry and not too sweet. The menu is served tapas style, so you have the option of sharing, especially if you want to try a lot of dishes, or have one plate to yourself if you just need some nourishment. It’s also a nice place to relax and enjoy the view of the mountains.

Friends told us about this new restaurant opened inside Norstrom s we decided to give it a try. We came at around 1030 on Monday noon and we were greeted by the waitress working at the time, sat us down and give us a run down of the menu. She suggested we should order about 3 to 4 dishes since the portions are small. We ordered the Korean BBQ sliders which is pretty good, we paired it with the sweet potato fries. Then we tried the tomato salad, also very very good, Next we tried the steak and I have to admit that that was one of the best! To finish, we ordered the Risotto, little bit of too much lime in it and bot overall not bad. Service was great, very nice lady, kept checking back with us and very friendly.
