Talbots

I visited this Talbots store on 09/​18/​2013 & I had a great shopping experience here. I came here to do a little shopping & return a couple of things that I bought online. Julie helped me that day & she was absolutely wonderful. She is now my favorite salesperson at that store. She showed me a lot of great items & many of them were on sale. I also used my birthday discount & got a super deal on everything. Now I’ll have to come to Corte Madera more often to visit this store since there are no more Talbots stores in San Francisco. It’s very sad that all the Talbots stores in the city were closed & I hope that Talbots upper management will admit their mistake & they’ll reopen stores in San Francisco where they have many loyal customers like myself — I’ve been shopping at Talbots for the last 20 years & I always find great things there. If you like classic, timeless items that are always fashionable & stylish — you should definitely check out Talbots too. I know that I’ll be definitely coming back to this store to shop with Julie. I also must add that everyone in this store is very friendly & helpful & you’ll be treated very warmly here. Plus you’d get great quality items that are well worth the price. Have fun shopping here! I know that I do.

For those of us of a certain age who have grown used to being ignored, this is refreshing.
With a bonus check burning a hole in my purse, I went to J Jill to spend it. The store was nearly empty, with plenty of staff. After trying on a few things, and darting out of the dressing room half naked to get another size, I listened to the non-​stop background chatter among the staff as I got dressed and left.
I walked across the courtyard and found civility, higher quality workmanship, and helpfulness at Talbots. They must not like the sight of half naked ladies, because they were cheerfully on the run fetching size and color options.
They stock clothes that stand the test of time, and won’t be out of style next year, and they have a separate store stocking only petite sizes a few steps away.
There are no twirly skirts and tube tops, but if you’re looking for the classic «little black dress», this is the place.

Ya woulda thunk I was just passing through the store to get to Macy’s by the way not a single employee even made eye contact with me.
I thought I’d browse until someone would actually say something. The store is the size of a tiny apartment yet still nobody said anything. 12 minutes. Still nothing. So I continue through to Macy’s and purchase a couple tops then back to Talbot’s, but the Petite store to buy some pants.
Not as well layed out and organized at their Petites store across the way (the clothes are just much cuter in the mini-​me size of their petite store across the way anyhow — tweed and lime green sweaters can only go so far).
