Good and fast but nothing you wouldn’t see at any other sub shop. This location has a nice outdoor seating area.

SO… Went back to Jersey Mike’s got a classic sub… a #2… This isn’t a sub this is a hoogie and not just any hoogie this is a Jersey style hoogie. There is a HUGE difference. The first bite into this massive thing took me back to my childhood on the Jersey shore, getting called out of the ocean by my mom to crash on the white hot sand with my friends and eat one of these amazing pieces of food with chips and an icee cold can of coke. This is truly what I talk about when I talk about Jersey, things like this that bring this land locked little boy home to the shore. I am so glad they came to Culpeper… Subway I’m sorry you make a quick and okay sub close by, but I’ve found my true home… Gosh this sucks however with it being summer… and I was starting to lose weight too… Jeez.

Since the oh-so-wonderful«Bella Mia» closed on Main Street in Culpeper(sadly due to problems between the business owner & the building owner re: renovations required after the earthquake a few years ago), I have been in limbo re: finding an AUTHENTIC — or at least semi-authentic — Italian sub sandwich.(Believe it or not, Sheetz has come semi-close in the past, as have a few other Italian/Pizza restaurant venues.) I was hoping that Jersey Mike’s would up the ante. They’re close, but unfortunately not quite close enough. While the bread is a bit generic & soft(gotta love former Bella Mia’s crusty baguettes — sigh), the subs are of nice size(you can choose between 5″, 7″, 14″-15″ sizes) & very well-stuffed with ingredients. We ordered the jumbos. While Italian Cappacole ham«might» have been in my sub, I couldn’t really distinguish it from the regular ham. And if I had to ding anything else, it would be the very few & very paper-thin slices of provolone cheese on my Italian sandwich. They were almost see-thru microscopic. Same goes for my husband’s «Smoked Turkey & Provolone» sub. Half of his(14″) didn’t have any cheese on it at all. Unfortunately their website doesn’t show prices, & my husband didn’t keep his receipt, so all I can say is that hubby stated when he arrived home with the sandwiches that they were much more expensive than any other place we’ve ordered subs from. Will we order again? Most likely, occasionally, since the quality of the sandwiches as a whole was good & fresh, & they’re right here in town. Would I purposely search them out for an authentic«Italian» cold-cut sub? Eh.
