This place was amazing! I walked in and was instantly greeted. I had never been there before so I asked questions about the menu and they gladly explained everything. I got the lunch special which is 2 sushi rolls and miso soup for ten dollars. The quality of the fish was very good and I will be going back soon!

The one star is for service. This place has THE worst tasting food I’ve ever had. When you walk in, it feels like you’ve walked into a Chinese restaurant rather than Japanese. My friend and I ordered: 2 Spicy Scallop Hand Rolls 2 Orders of Uni Nigiri A Garden Salad Soft Shell Crab Appetizer The appetizer was so salty and oily that I took one bite and put it down. The garden salad’s dressing tasted more like a ketchup and mayo mix rather than the ginger dressing the menu claimed. The spicy scallop hand rolls… Oh. My. God. They chopped up the scallops into tiny tiny pieces, mixed it in a lot of mayo, then drizzled some Siracha sauce on it. Horrible. They use cheap Uni here! While it looked okay, the uni had a slightly bitter aftertaste. The server here was nice and friendly but because of the food… I will never be coming back here.

This place deserves to get more customers. I feel like the location makes it hard to notice but definitely take the time to find this place. I am a sushi fanatic and the sushi served here was so creamy and delicious! I brought several of my friends and family here. Customer service is nice because the owner serves you herself and treats you like family. Not to mention this place delivers!!! A big plus :)

Nope! My friend and I wanted to order out. We place our order online. Soon after we start getting phone calls saying they couldn’t locate the address. Then we sat for another 45 minutes… They finally show up. No apology, nothing. I ordered some seafood salad. The description said it came with a bunch of stuff including shrimp and seaweed. There was no shrimp and hardly any seaweed or any of the other things in the description. It was 90% octopus. And did I mention it was TINY! For $ 10 it totally wasn’t worth it. The rest of the food was meh. I don’t recommend.

Nigiri sounds perfect on a hot afternoon, so I decided to try out i Sushi. I entered through the entrance that faced the back parking lot, and was immediately greeted & seated as soon as I made my way through the tacky beaded door curtains. The host seated me at a booth, which was comfortable enough for my likings. The restaurant was rather empty for lunch time, but I understand that the flow of customers in the food service industry is always inconsistent, so I dismissed the emptiness without further thought. I ordered the vegetable tempura appetizer, sake nigiri(salmon), maguro nigiri(tuna), and a salmon skin roll. THEVEGETABLETEMPURA: I had about four to five pieces of «vegetables» scattered on an oval plate. It did not look appealing and the plate consisted of kabocha(japanese squash) and carrots only.(Not a green veggie in sight!) The tempura layer wasn’t as crunchy as I’d like it to be and the kabocha was still hard underneath the fried tempura! It was cooked too lightly and probably needed a minute or two more. Even the carrots were still raw as well. The tempura sauce was warm but tasted watered down. A very chewy(NOT crunchy) and bland dish. AVOID, not worth it! SAKE&MAGURONIGIRI: The slices of fish were A-OK, not exactly fresh tasting, but not bad either. The rice didn’t have enough vinegar, so it tasted like plain rice. I really hated their wasabi. How could one mess up on wasabi? I honestly don’t know… Their wasabi tasted extremely powdery, which made me avoid it throughout the whole meal. It was just plain weird! I usually like that punch in the nose wasabi gives me, but at i Sushi, their wasabi never delivered that punch, and left a disgusting powdered texture and artificial taste on my palate. I understand that most restaurants probably use wasabi that they mix themselves, but this place just didn’t do it right. SALMONSKINROLL: Mediocre, but not terrible. I was still grossed out by the wasabi. I had one bite and took the rest to go. Overall, the service was good, so two stars for the service. The waitress kept checking up on me and provided a napkin without me asking for an extra one. She was quick on her feet and I didn’t have to wait too long for anything. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be back… :(

So I have been here a couple of times, and both times I have been disappointed on both the service and the food. Upon entering this establishment, the interior appears to be splattered with modern-Asian influence and a sports bar. I was greeted by what seemed to be a disgruntled Asian female employee. Throughout the dining experience, she elicited an irritable attitude with heavy sighs and a rushed approach toward me. I felt pressured to make my order quickly despite the deserted restaurant. When the food came, the sushi had way too much rice and very little filler. The filler itself was awful. The fish in the rolls tasted sour, and the avocado was very brown and discolored. I politely asked her to take the sushi away and she gave me a dirty look. Overall, the sushi I ordered were substantially lower in quality and quantity. I would not come back here again.

This is my **favorite** sushi place in the bay area. I’m a big salmon lover and the quality of their fish bests all the other restaurants I’ve visited. The owners are very nice and go out of their way to learn the names and preferences of regulars. The food is awesome and not badly priced as far as sushi goes. Try the: Spicy Hawaiian Poke Lion King Roll Sexy Mountain Roll Salmon Sashimi

Giving a low review score because of very poor service and below average food. Stick to Yoshida’s, Kitsho, or even Kuni(also in Cupertino) for far superior service and food for similar prices. I hate giving low review scores, but I don’t want others to find out the hard way with so many better alternatives close by. Poor Service — two of my group ordered bento boxes and two of us ordered sashimi plates, plus four pieces of hamachi. The bento boxes arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered. 20 minutes later, only one sashimi plate and four pieces of hamachi arrived. Then another 5 minutes later the last sashimi plate arrived. We had to ask/remind the waitresses several times. The sad part was the restaurant was not busy and was barely half full. Two in our group were done eating before the other two people’s food arrived. All the chef had to do was slice fish, there wasn’t even any rice involved! This type of service is not acceptible when the food is so poor(see below). When the bill came, the waitress picked up our credit card, but never came back. We had to ask/remind her so we could sign and leave. Then she got confused and had to check with another waitress. Poor Quality Food — soggy tempura that was very oily. My co-worker peeled off the batter because it was so soggy. The teriyaki chicken was dry and tasted like it had been over boiled and covered in watery teriyaki sauce. The sashimi was ok, but the price, size portion, and presentation were not as good as as the three other Japanese restaurants listed above.

I don’t want to say anything bad about the people here. They are Extremely nice people. Very kind and smiling. My issue is with the quality. It’s evident that this place is void of creative passion for food. I think this place needs a major makeover, not the look of it, the menu. The menu, the presentation, the quality of sourced foods, all need a makeover. They have the right attitude and are wonderfully kind. But if that business is to succeed, intervention is required. Where are you Chef Gordon Ramsey?

I was here with my friends around 8pm. There were just a few people. I don’t like crowd places. The service is good such as food. I recommend this place to all people who like quite places and good sushi;)

The prices are good. however I wouldn’t mind paying a little more for better quality food. OHBOY. they barely fill the miso soup bowl halfway, their salad was DRAINED in some watery white dressing, the chicken teriyaki was rubbery, and their sushi was as bad as the pre-packaged«sushi» you get at Trader Joe’s. The service was nice and friendly but I just had to write this review regardless as the quality of the food was that bad.

For a sushi place that is in walking distance to work I’d say it’s pretty good. The miso soup was tasty. Their ginger is actually really really good! I always order the lion king roll but they put shrimp tempura in it! Sadness. I need to tell them to use california roll stuffing instead. All in All a good spot for a quick lunch from work. Minus 1 start because the servers were friendly but the food came out with all the wrong timing. 2 people in our party got their food first and finished it before me and the other person got ours.

I would probably give this place a 3.5 stars because of the convenience. Sushi is about average but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. Pricing is not bad as well and the service was pretty good last time I was there. Not bad food, not bad service, and not bad pricing equals a not bad experience. Couple that with the fact that it’s in a very convenient location near Paul and Eddies and you got an almost solid experience. I have no doubt that I Sushi needs a little improvement but I think it’s doing alright so far. If it can continue to improve the quality of its food, then I can definitely see myself becoming a regular here.

I Sushi is literally two minutes from my bf’s house, so when I stay there, I always have the urge to order take-out from here because their Chirashi is amaaaaahhhhzing. The quantity and variety is so good for just $ 16.95, which includes a small side of seaweed salad. Yum. Fish has always been fresh. The last time I ordered, they forgot to include wasabi, which kind of ruined it for me, but they did give me a complimentary miso soup, so I guess it’s alright… but who forgets the wasabi?! I’ve dined in a few times, and service is always so accommodating. Again, food and portion sizes are solid. My only complaint is that they are usually out of multiple items on their menu. They never seem to have ankimo(my favorite), or oysters for their oyster shooters. They did offer me an uni shooter instead, which was delicious.

If it wasn’t for Unilocal I probably wouldn’t have noticed this place… There’re quite a few good japanese restaurants around the area so I would’ve never came here if it wasn’t for the 4 star review! Glad I tried this place. It’s not an authentic Japanese restaurant, but the house special sushi rolls are really good! Since I’m not a huge fan of raw fish, this place is great because they serve both raw fish/sashimi and cooked rolls. They also have rice bowls, udon noodles, and bento boxes(lunch and dinner). Even though it took about 20 minutes to get our sushi(since there was only one sushi chef) I was pretty happy with the rolls we eventually got. Since the sushi takes time to make, the waitress suggested that we order an appetizer. Although I wasn’t really interested in their appetizers, the bf and I eventually got talked into getting the hamachi kama(grilled yellow tail chin)-$ 6.95. As weird as it sounds(didn’t even know fish have chins), the fish chin was actually not much different from just eating regular fish meat and was actually pretty good. The meat was tender and certain parts of the grilled fish chin was well seasoned and crispy. yum! The waitress was friendly and attentive. She refilled our tea and asked us how our food was a couple of times. Also she gave us 3 extra plates(without us asking) for us to use for our shared rolls, which I find to be quite thoughtful. We ordered a dynamite roll(6 pieces), lion king roll(8 pieces), and bomb roll(spicy tuna/seaweed salad roll– 5 pieces). The Lion king roll was really good, grilled salmon on top of tempura shrimp roll with some sweet/creamy yellow sauce and tobiko(fish eggs) on top. The roll was warm and the tempura shrimp were still crunchy. When you put the rolls in your mouth the flavor sort of just explodes in your mouth, loved it. Priced reasonably at ~$ 11. Get it! The dynamite roll was actually pretty similar to the lion king roll but it has spicy tuna and avocado in it. I think it’s yummy, but since we got this after the lion king roll the impact wasn’t as great. It’s about $ 8 – 9. If you’re debating between Lion king and dynamite I’d go with the Lion king. The bomb roll was surprisingly good. 5 pieces for ~$ 7. This roll is spicy so probably not for kids. I like spicy tuna and I like seaweed salad, so this combo was perfect. I don’t think I’ve seen it elsewhere. I would get this again if I feel like something spicy. We ended up paying ~$ 20 dollars(including tax/tip) each for 1 appetizer and 3 rolls(19 pieces of sushi). Not bad, fair enough for a sushi dinner. Overall good experience, will come back for sushi cravings! Parking: Parking was pretty easy, they have a parking lot in the back of the restaurant and you can enter from the back as well. Note: Complementary miso soup for each person. They also have regular soy sauce and low sodium soy sauce(green top) for you to choose/use at each table. They do take phone orders so you can just pick it up also if you don’t want to dine in. This is a pretty casual sushi place and not some fancy restaurant that you’ll go for a nice date though… good for families and a casual lunch/dinner.

Awesome service! Lackluster sushi. I was surprised by the cheap prices but the rolls are really small. Last time I got the Lion King and thought it was decent, but this time the salmon didn’t look cooked, the rice tasted too mushy, and I felt sick afterwards. Didn’t finish it and opted for a Vivi’s sandwich across the street instead. I hate to say this because they people who work here are so nice, but this could easily be one of the worst tasting sushi restaurants I’ve been to.

Service: 5⁄5 again. They were very polite even though my sister and I were really frustrating. We had requested our order be in the restaurant. Then we asked for it to go. And when we actually got there, we ended up just eating there anyways. They were very patient and in a matter of five minutes, our rolls were out and ready. At the end, we were 5 dollars short, and they let us come back and pay later. Food: 3⁄5 I ordered the Rock n Roll which had unagi(eel), avacado, and tobiko(salmon roe). It wasn’t very impressive and didn’t seem to live up to the hype. It was $ 7.45. It was very filling, but somewhat small. My sister ordered a Lion King roll and found herself to be a bit disappointed as well. However, the Lion King roll was decent and was a lot cheaper thn other sushi places.

Came by for dinner the other night and the meal was mediocre at best. Tried to stop by during the Chinese New Year time-frame and they were closed. So it turns out that this place is owned by Chinese… Mandarin-speaking folks… ai yah! Despite claiming to close by 9 pm… there are many times when I drive by and they’re closed before 9 pm?!? Started off with the miso soup and it was decent. Not too salty or watered down… no charge either! :) The side salad was $ 4.25 and it consisted of a few pieces of lettuce and shredded carrots?!? …at least the lettuce was fresh? The Miyako roll was mediocre. The soft shell crab was small and over-fried. The fish on top wasn’t too fresh. The roll also wasn’t that huge as the waitress portrayed it to be… definitely not worth the $ 14…

First of all, I have to say that the fact that I can order AND pay online for pickup is pretty freakin cool. This is seriously awesome on days where I don’t feel like dealing with people… or waiting. Aka: days where I’m feeling like kind of an asshole and probably shouldn’t interact with anyone anyways. Basically it’s a win win for both parties. Anyways, iSushi has a seriously extensive menu with some legit lunch specials. For $ 9 I can walk away with a two item bento with soup, salad, and rice, or a 12 pc california roll lunch with the same. Tea is included if you dine in(or are waiting for your order). Sweet deal. A few things I don’t love: — salad dressing is odd… tasted like straight mayo — teriyaki sauce is kinda weak These aren’t deal breakers, so don’t be deterred. Check out iSushi next time you’re in Cupertino. Its a cute little spot that’s definitely worth a visit for lunch.
