Great food, great atmosphere, great service. No complaints! Jordan was a great server — very attentive, always there when we needed something but not over-bearing. The next time we are in Dallas, we will definitely be back!

Boyfriend loves the show so took him to the garage and then we came to the bar and grill for some appetizers and drinks! Ordered the Garage Nachos and they were great! I ordered them with shredded chicken and he ordered them with shredded pork. For as busy as they were service was fast and prompt!

Bedienungen waren Mega freundlichen & zuvorkommend. Danke Richard für so ein super Lokal

Hubby is a huge fan of the show, and I remember telling him that we would go here the next time we were in Dallas, so we did! It was early-ish on a Tuesday night and we got right in. You can either sit at the bar, or they will seat you in the dining room. We chose the dining room and she sat us in the back in the corner by the shop; no worries, it was cool to look around and watch people and enjoy the atmosphere. Until it wasn’t cool because I think they forgot about us. We sat for a long time waiting for someone to help us. Finally Josh asked if anyone had helped us, and when we said no, he apologized and took our order. I asked him abut the Unilocal check-in discount and he said sure no problem, they still honor that. Then we waited some more for our actual waiter to come by with our drinks, and when he did, I reminded him about the Unilocal discount since he didn’t take our original order. He said of course, no problem! I got the Mango Chicken and hubby got the Fish and Chips. Everything was good, but not amazing, or knock your socks off good. Although the secret sauce of sriracha tarter sauce was fabulous! The hush puppies were a little chewy, and the fish wasn’t real crispy. The fries were good he said, but not enough of them. My Mango Chicken was nice and light and the rice was perfect. Again, it was good, but not overwhelmingly fantastic. When we got the check, the discount wasn’t on there. I hated to be THAT person griping about a few dollars, but it is advertised on Unilocal.I mentioned it to the waiter, and he was super apologetic and changed the bill(and yes, we tipped on the original amount). But still, I hated that I had to mention it. I think this is a place more to come for the atmosphere and to say you were here(yeah, I posted that all over Facebook) but not so much for the food, or the service. I would bring an out of town visitor here, or go again if someone really wanted to, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go again.

Came here because of the show of course. They had attendants in the parking lot directing traffic which was cool. It was still pretty early when we got here(about 6) and the place was already packed. Apparently there was a big UFC fight on that night so as we were there drinking, they were setting up reserved tables to watch the fight. Only had a few drinks and some tortillas and salsa. Drinks were good, bartenders were on point even though the place was pretty crowded. There was a live band playing in the back in a sort of open area. The place is a lot bigger than I thought. Cool place to hang out with friends, watch sports(there are tv’s everwhere) or even meet a date.

Unhealthy fried Texas food!!! UMM of course I’m there! Came in with the future in laws and they love the show. They are visiting from IL so we thought why not! The service was amazing for a cold rainy Sunday night. She was great at explaining the menu and very entertaining. She even helped us snap a few family photos. I am giving this four stars mainly because of the portion size of the meals. I know I should be grateful for the food but wow! I’m beyond glad that I decided to split the Chicken Fried Steak with my mom. It was delicious and we got the mac and cheese and the creamed corn as sides. The mac was that perfect golden brown baked goodness. The corn had a little tang to it but very good!!! I want to come back and see what concerts are like!

Met some family friends in town for lunch here. Everything was really cool at this place. The food was awesome, our server was awesome, the only downfall for me was the place was soooo cold. Overall I was happy with the experience and the food.

So excited to come here on vacation to see my cowboys play! Def had to stop here as my fiancé and I watch the show all the time. Food was Sooo good. Got the brisket quesadillas to start which had avocado which I’m a sucker for. Very good. I ordered the grilled chicken and chile pepper and bacon sandwich with fries. I loved the fries, def on the salty side but I love salt so that didn’t bother me at all. The sandwich was great! I ate The whole thing even though I was full and I’m regretting that decision now haha. Then after dinner we just HAD to buy a ton of stuff from the gift shop! And also got to take home our beer glasses! All in all it was great and I wish I could come back again. Wish we could have ran into Richard or Aaron oh well! ;)

The service was decent. Our waitresses was attentive and pleasent. The drinks are good, especially that Cinnamon tequila… wow. I bought a bottle. But, the food was not good. The Onion rings were bland as hell. They look good but have no taste without the sauce. My stuffed potato was decent but not worth going out of my way for and the fried greenbeans were cold. All of my co-workers food was cold, but he didn’t send his back. Pssttt. I did. Not a good experience but I’ll try it one more time.

When you can’t make the trip out to Rudy’s or Pecan Lodge, find your way to Gas Monkey Bar N Grill! I had heard a lot about this place and I was a little bit put off by the name. I kept imagining some run down bar, with dirty floors, and frozen bbq slapped onto a plate. I know, ew. But i couldn’t be more wrong about this place! VENUE: This place is HUGE. It has a little pond that the patio over looks which will make for a nice, summer BBQ ambiance in a few months. There appears to be a stage in the back for what I imagine will be live music when the weather is nice. Plenty of parking so you never have to worry about finding a spot. And it’s next to Red River — so if you’re looking for a night of good dinner and 2-step dancing afterwards, you’re set! There is a lot of seating inside, so this place is also a good option for groups. Their chairs are abnormally large, which is actually really nice if you think about it. FOOD: Their menu is quite extensive. But you get BBQ options for everything. The candied bacon is a great starter and if you want a lighter option, their salads are pretty sizable. Their BBQ is tender and moist and their portions are good for what you’re paying. As a Dallas native, and after trying various BBQ places around the south, I know some of you will scream bloody murder that I could even compare this place to Rudy’s or Pecan Lodge. All I’m saying, is if you need a Bbq fix, this is a good option! SERVICE: Our server was really friendly and coming with my coworkers i didn’t feel too over-dressed or out of place.

Me and the bf stopped here for dinner prior to a show down the street at Gas Monkey Live. Apparently so did a lot of other people, because we were told it was a 30 minute wait for a table. The bar and bar seating was open seating but was pretty much full. We decided to wait and got a text about 10 minutes later that our table was ready! I liked the text method to alert me it was time for dinner! He ordered a Coors Light and I ordered a margarita. I should have known, but the margarita was extremely tart and sweet and tasted like it came out of a bag or a box mix. But, it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had, and I’ll admit I ordered two. We started with the smoked cheddar queso. It came out fairly quickly, served in an oven pan(as were our meals). The queso was warm, not hot in temperature, but I didn’t see our waiter for a while afterward so I just decided to eat it. I don’t know why so many places can’t seem to serve queso hot! It had some sort of meat sprinkled on top, which tasted like(but did not look like) bacon. It didn’t taste overly smoky to me, but it was still good as far as queso goes. It was a small portion. For our meals, I ordered the Gas Monkey Garage Burger and added smoked blue cheese and house bacon. I asked for a side of ranch for my fries. The bf ordered onion rings. Our food came out pretty timely, but mine was missing bacon and the side of ranch. When I told the waiter on his next trip over that I didn’t have bacon on my burger, he told me it didn’t come with bacon. I reminded him that I had in fact, ordered bacon to be added to the burger. This seemed to jog his memory, but I just had them remove the extra charge from my bill and kept eating my burger because it was delicious! He did bring by the side of ranch the kitchen forgot. The fries were slightly crispy and really tasty and the ranch was amazing. I think it had some dill in it to give it a herby kick. I even dipped my burger in the ranch. The onion rings were actually huge pieces of onions(see photo), which my bf did not enjoy. Overall, food was A-OK, as was service. We wouldn’t make a special trip out here but we’d definitely come back before the next Gas Monkey Live show for a decent meal! Don’t forget to check-in for 10% off food!

Been here a couple of different times now and while the food is good, the atmosphere is a little lacking. It almost feels like the Buffalo Wild Wings of barbecue and grilled cheese. Really. Many people watching sports, lackluster wait staff, and decent food. It’s nothing stellar, but I will vet for the brisket grilled cheese with onions. Add some barbecue sauce to that and we’re in business. Actually, I’m pretty sure I get this every time.

We had a large group come in for a weeknight dinner. The staff were all pleasant, and the outdoor patio looked amazing! Too bad it was closed. Our food came out in a fair amount of time, and everybody seemed to enjoy their food(everything from nachos to tacos to brisket grilled cheese). My biggest complaint was the coleslaw — not vinegary nor creamy… but just doused in chile powder and inedible. The fries could have been crispier, also. The menu is very Tex bar, so nothing alarming there. There’s a large gift shop in the back(of course), which I didn’t go into. I’d come back to see who performs on the outdoor patio stage, but probably not just to come hang out and eat. It’s a bit off the road and difficult to find in the dark.

A solid three due to the fish and chips being mostly bread and little fish. I had the ½ ribs with mash potatoes and baked beans which I thought were pretty good. Cool atmosphere and live bands is always a plus. Service seemed a little slow for a Tuesday night although they are busy for a Tuesday night Overall I am glad we came here as I am a fan of Gas Monkey.

The food is overpriced and overcooked. Burgers were dry fried almost burnt. Looks like a cool place to drink but don’t go for the food.

I’ve been wanting to visit Gas Monkey Bar and Grill ever since the episode premiered with Richard beginning to open the restaurant. At that time I resided in LA but now I’m in Dallas and visiting has become a reality! The restaurant is broken into five facets: 1) The inside Bar 2) The Dinning Area 3) The Hangar Shop 4) Outside Bar 5) Music Venue Overlooking The Pond The food. It’s excellent. It’s Texas. It’s unhealthy. It’s everything you would ever dream about on a place! I elected for the Kobe Flank Steak with Grilled Green Onions, Carrots and Red Peppers. Delicious… My eyes may have watered several times, and I most definitely had goosebumps as the steak was decimated with each chew-stroke inside my mouth! Go… Now!!!

I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t expecting much. The DBF and I enjoy watching«Fast and Loud», the TV show about the Gas Monkey Garage. While in Plano visiting family, our one request was could we please, please, PLEASE stop by the restaurant for souvenirs to take back to Baltimore. Imagine our surprise when everyone wanted to eat there too. GULP. If this place sucked, we would have ruined our last big meal out before coming back home. Fortunately, GMBG was a great experience. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and really good with kids(of which there were two toddlers in the group). All of the food was tasty and served quickly and it was just fun being there. My only disappointment(and it was minor) was that my smoked loaded baked potato did not have any kind of smoky flavor. It was a great loaded potato though, exactly what I was looking for that day. The appetizers were all hearty and flavorful, from the trio of dips to the chicken lollipops and tostadas. The DBF’s fried chicken club sandwich was massive, and his brother-in-law enjoyed his hamburger immensely. And the kids even got complimentary chocolate ice cream. The space is huge and also has lots of outdoor areas and even live music. This would be a good place to come for dinner and hang out on a date night. Even though there were no Richard or Aaron sightings, we had a great time and we highly recommend it!

Went to GMBG for a concert. Paid for the VIP seating which is on the balcony. The last time we visited, the railing had barstools. This time, they did not… so the jackwagon patrol of the Metamucil crowd moved chairs from the tables to the railing… many of them later standing on these chairs to «see» over the railing. Okay, okay. No draft beer outside… be warned, and no real craft beers available. They really only offered the most basic selection of beer. They do have a nice menu for the VIP section & I ordered the Green Chile Chicken Sandwich($ 9.99) while my girlfriend ordered the Garage Nachos(about $ 10). A great portion of the menu is right at or near $ 10. The chicken on the sandwich was flavored well, but over cooked. There were no green chiles to be seen, but they may have been referring to the sauce. The nachos were plentiful, the chicken well-cooked, but the cheese was sparse & they were not layered in any way… it’s simply a big pile of chips with stuff on top. Anyway, the food is uninspired, but the venue is good if they have a band you like. Go for the music, not the food. Like many places owned by folks who are famous for something other than making food, GMBG’s food is for amusement purposes only. Eat elsewhere, go to the show, and be not disappointed in your meal.
