Of all the bars on McKinney, this is definitely my favorite. I like that it is on the far side of McKinney Ave, away from all of the other McKinney bar madness on the weekends. I always enjoy the crowd here. It is always pretty well packed, however, you typically are able to find a seat somewhere either inside or outside. The drinks are moderately priced/pretty standard for this area. I like the patio area as well, it is large with lots of seating and there is an outside bar! Definitely one of my go-to bars in Dallas.

The brunch menu was ok very small. Got the burger and it was good-the service was terrible could never find our waiter /she never came to our table to ask how things were going. Looks like it has good drink menu– will come back for the bar, not the food.

Have to say any place that can make a dirty martini perfectly always gets my vote! The bartendars are clever and the atmosphere is lovely. You have to try the Fried chicken it is very good!

I will be honest, I first visited this spot a few years ago and it was a bit pompous for my «casual» drinking likes, but the place has had a really nice turnaround. The food and drink were always top notch, but it is the attitude that has dramatically changed. Whereas the bar staff once came across as arrogant, they are now extremely friendly and informative. It is casual dining, but the waitstaff has been top-notch since I started coming back here. The menu is pretty simple, but has a lot of character and originality. The drinks are excellent and you absolutely cannot leave this spot without having a Moscow Mule. The patio area is perfect way to start your Sunday and do some people watching. It is a must stop for me now, even if only for one, whenever I am in town.

I really like the location in Uptown Dallas. Cozy restaurant with a very nice patio. The wait staff is efficient the hostess is stuck up and the food is tasty. I like that they have live music. If you stop in you will most likely have a very nice experience.

Fun evening with friends. Service was good. Waitress forgot one item. Drinks were very good and cheesecake was tasty. We went late after dinner for drinks and desert and to do some people watching. A hit on all accounts. The patio is really a nice place.

Love The Standard Pour! Came here this weekend and immediately were sat on their cute outdoor patio. They even have a little fire place which we loved. We ordered a huge Moscow mule and so many appetizers! Everything was delicious and fresh. Great spot to eat and drink. We will definitely be back!

What a cool little place on McKinney! Definitely wouldn’t have noticed it if my friend didn’t point it out, and I’m glad he suggested it. We came there after work Friday to grab dinner and catch up. The food was pretty good! I had the Ahi Tuna Salad and my friend got the Fish & Chips. We also got a couple of drinks. I had the Moscow Mule and Old Fashioned. The salad was pretty darn good. I’ve been in a healthy phase, and it was a good alternative to the other dishes. The tuna could use a little bit more salt though. Half a piece of my tuna was also missing… and it was hidden beneath the other pieces… so that was upsetting. On to the draaaanks. The Moscow Mule was definitely the better of the two. It had a strong ginger taste, which was almost overwhelming. The Old Fashioned was quite strong, as it should be. Love the hint of orange though. Overall, I would definitely recommend it! The staff was really friendly and attentive, the food was good, and happy hour specials are reasonably priced. Drink up!

I came here on a Wednesday night for Dame’s Dinner. Ladies get a free three-course meal on Wednesdays, all you have to do is call ahead and make a reservation! You pay for drinks and tip, but that’s all. Crazy good deal. Everyone on the staff that we dealt with was super friendly, very helpful and attentive, from the hostess at the front to our server(and the server-in-training shadowing her) to the woman that cleared away our dishes after every course. I was worried that because we weren’t actually paying for our meal that they wouldn’t worry about taking care of us, but the opposite was true, I felt downright pampered. When you sit down they give you a sample of their cocktail special for the day, the«standard pour»(so cute). I don’t remember what it was, but I remember loving it! The meal itself was excellent! My gal pal and I started with cocktails. We both ordered the Moscow Mule. It was DELICIOUS. Seriously, probably the best Moscow Mule I’ve ever had(and I order those a lot). Not long after, they brought us our first course. We both chose the Pear Salad, which was spinach, spiced pecans, cherry tomatoes and goat cheese. Simple and flavorful, it was the perfect start to a meal. I devoured the whole thing. For our second course, we both chose the Fettuccine Carbonara(I asked for mine without bacon, which they happily accommodated). I really enjoyed this dish. It had a thick, creamy cheese sauce that brought to mind Mac & Cheese, but with fettuccine instead of macaroni. And it was just the right amount of food – in most places I feel like the portions are out of control, but this dish was the perfect amount of pasta. I felt full but not bloated. Dessert was the tiniest little shortcake topped with strawberries and whipped cream! So adorable, and the perfect way to cleanse the palate and end the meal. I think I ate the whole thing in three or four bites, and it was just right. So, I got a three-course meal and a cocktail for the price of the cocktail($ 5 because it was happy hour). I paid $ 5 for valet parking, and I tipped on what the total bill would have been, so all told I spent a little over $ 17 at The Standard Pour last night on what could easily have been a $ 50+ experience. It pays to be a lady sometimes. Standard Pour, I will definitely be back.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend from the area and she has never steered me wrong. This is no exception. A group of 3 of us stopped here for a cocktail after dinner. The menu is extensive with many craft cocktails to choose from. I went with the Rye and Vine but I am pretty sure you can’t go wrong since the reviews from around the table were all rave. The best part, while other restaurants might bring you a basket of bread or some nachos while you decide, Standard Pour brought over a tasting of the«Standard Pour» drink. Awesome touch and a great opening to an awesome evening here. This place was everything I hoped it would be and more. I hope to make it back sometime.

Yum! Really cute atmosphere in the heart of uptown. Such a great spot for the weekly Dame’s Dinner Club on Wednesdays. Complimentary 3 course meals with drink specials for women with reservations on Wednesdays! Although, we went twice, two weeks apart, and the drink specials were the same. Wish they varied based on what was being served for dinner since they pride themselves on their bar services. I do wish they had vegetarian options at the dinner, but are happy to serve a side or other entrees if ordered(obviously at full price, which is kind of annoying, but guess you can’t complain when the salad is free.) The wait staff did seem to go missing for extended periods of time. We would have to wave someone down to get our waitress for refills. And the food took s-o-o-o-o-o long to arrive. BUT the macaroni and cheese is DIVINE. One of the best I have found in Dallas. I will go back just for the mac & cheese. Drinks are really great. The menu is varied and extensive and everyone can probably find something that would satisfy them, although we have yet to have a waitress that seemed really passionate about any of the drinks. Our first Dinner Club, we were given a small drink, but not the second time. I guess it’s hit or miss. Sitting on the patio is SO cold if it’s cold out. They kept the plastic protectors unzipped for some reason and the only heat seems to come from the fireplace, so try to get a table there! We will probably go back once in awhile for Dame’s Dinner Club or for drinks, but never if we don’t have time to kill!

Classic Dallas Locals Favorite. Best Old Fashioned in town. Amazing Moscow Mules & other drinks are phenomenal as well. The bartenders are very skilled here. Vibe is great & casual. Location is great as its on McKinney & close by other hot spots in town. I’m only giving 4 stars because the food options aren’t fantastic. There isn’t much to choose from, food is overpriced & comes in small portions but what can you expect from a watering hole? Best place for drinks on McKinney, hands down.

I came here with my best friend and his co-workers who came from out of State. They chose this place and we met them up; it was a Friday evening. I really like the atmosphere… though pretty dark and loud. The food was good. Then that’s pretty much it. It smelled like… REALLYBAD in there. Somewhere between throw-up and rotten food. I’ve worked at a bar before and I’m 90% certain it was the smell of some poor kid’s throw-up plastered across the floor somewhere close. Our server never came to check up on us. We had to flag her down to ask her where my food even was. She said it’s in the back but when she brought it out, it was pipping hot… meaning she forgot to ring the order in and told them to rush it. Yea there’s too many good bars in this area for me to come back to a place that smells so bad… I like to breathe when I’m out at a restaurant or you know, trying to be alive.

As far as uptown is concerned, this is probably the bar with the best craft cocktails that’s ALSO got some of the best bar food(lobster nachos rock) and STILL manages to have a pretty huge crowd so you can meet new people while remaining manageable and not too busy where you can’t move. It’s definitely one of the smaller venues, but has an upscale feel at the same time.

The Standard Pour is one of many glittery, Über cool pubs lining Mckinney Avenue in uptown Dallas. We visited after attending Peter Pan 360, which I’ve been unable to find on Unilocal in order to offer a review, but it was fantastic! The Standard Pour has great atmosphere. The interior was exactly what I would expect from a New American Gastro pub, a mixture of wood, stone, art, and an enclosed patio with a modern fireplace. It was packed on a Thursday night. Quite a bit of bar seating is available, but there were no two seats together. We had to pay seven dollars to park and when we entered the restaurant there was no hostess to seat us. We wandered the dining room looking for a server and could not find one of those either. I finally asked the bartender if we should just seat ourselves and he looked apologetic, and said«I don’t know where she is, but feel free to grab a seat and I’ll let her know you’re here.» I still had to go find someone to bring us a menu. When our server Katie finally arrived, she was wonderful. Very helpful, explained things very well, and took good care of us. I ordered a burger and the menu was misleading about what came on it when ordered«Shroom«style. So, she brought extra toppings for me. We ordered hummus is an appetizer, which was the best thing we ate there. The flavor was amazing. They comped it for us because they were almost out, and the portion they brought was not a full one. My plus one ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms, which were surprisingly bland considering the list of seasonings included on the menu. The burger was also low on flavor. The ranch, which may seem like an odd thing to include in a review but I dip everything in ranch, was outstanding! And, my plus one ordered fish and chips which were also very good, though the slaw on the side of that was bland as well. Drinkwise, I had the Dark and Stormy, very strong and very flavorful. My date ordered a Cucumber Smash and asked them to tone it down for her a bit because it was also very strong. I would come back here for cocktails and appetizers. But I would be hesitant toward more entrées because I prefer more flavorful food, like Breadwinners Café just down the street.

I be heard good things about this place for brunch and went with friends that have been there before. The only complaint I have is the poor service we received from the waitress, forgot my friends bangers twice! Slow on bringing water when requested or even checking on us and it was not that busy. The high light was the doozie sandwiches(British tea sandwiches) absolutely delicious! Made by the owners mother and very authentic. I had the scramble it was good yet the chorizo was a bit over cooked and dry.

Went to their Wednesday Ladies Night– it’s called something like Dames Dinner. Make a reservation and GO! You have to buy 2 drinks– anything off the menu– then you get a free dinner! It’s 3 courses, but think more like tapas than a huge meal. The menu changes each week, I believe. We really liked everything we had(hummus, salad, fried crawfish tostada and sorbet), and we REALLY liked having a meal and 2 drinks for $ 14!!! I will definitely go back. Valet is $ 5.

I’ve been talking to people about this bar for weeks with rave reviews! I love the 1920s London pub feel this place gives off. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the employees in suspenders and bowlers hats. It reminds me of many dive bars in Denver, Co. We sat at the bar and you’ll see they have the most incredibly extensive collection of booze I have ever seen. Even the bartender said he didn’t know some of the items on their shelves. But he was super knowledgable about whiskey(Highland Park was the brand we were talking about) as well as many other spirits. We stayed for an hour or so just shooting the sh%t and learned so much! Seriously the bar could have paid an entrance fee for all the awesome booze info we learned. Bogs, pete, smoke… who knew do many variables made up your average alcohol flavors?! So far, my favorite bar in uptown Dallas!
