I know that these would be some fightin’ words to those who like burritos, but I would have to say that Raging Burrito might be the best burrito in town. This is a place that has eluded me for years; considering I had taken dance lessons nearby and had some family that I visited often also nearby. My go-to place in Decatur was usually Brick Store or Ted’s Montana Grill, when Brick Store was too full, and snobs didn’t bother going to a chain like Ted’s. Or it was Taqueria del Sol or Farm Burger when I wanted to stay under the $ 25 mark per person. The name Raging Burrito(or Taco) had been mentioned by acquaintances for some time, it’s just that I never made the effort to really seek them out. And how naïve I’ve been. Thankfully, with a new puppy in tow, and taking puppy classes in Decatur, I’ve been seeking out places that would allow me to bring puppy, so that she may be socialized and I may still eat good food. As of this date, I’ve heard different intel about Raging Burrito’s dog policies, but a quick call confirmed that the front tables, allow for dogs, making it an easy choice for me to finally visit. Anyway, Raging Burrito is located in Decatur Square; it’s an absolute breeze to access via MARTA, since it’s literally immediately a hard right upon leaving the Decatur MARTA station. It’s a little harder for us Earth-hating car drivers, as parking isn’t plentiful, and depending on the time of day, is also not free. There are a lot of lots and metered curb spots right near the square, but I often park at the corner of North Candler and Ponce, by the Wells Fargo building, where I can park for free as long as it’s after 6 pm, and it’s a two-block walk to get to Raging Burrito. Being Downtown Decatur, it’s a trendy and popular bar and dining area, so be aware that you can be subject to some insane waits, crowds, and inaccessibility, so always have a plan B to fall back onto. Thankfully, I pick my spots well, and don’t often run into such maladies. I’ve only ever been inside Raging Burrito, to let servers know that I’m outside with my dog, and to use the restroom, but the interior is young and hip-leaning as far as atmosphere is concerned, but none of the staff I’ve encountered have been anything short of friendly and accommodating. As the name of the restaurant makes obvious, burritos and tacos are the name of the game. I have yet to try a taco, because I so much prefer burritos, but the mythical girlfriend has attested to the tacos being very good(mostly shrimp and fish variants). Back to the burritos though, debate with me as much as you want as far as best, but I think it’s pretty indisputable that Raging Burrito has the most fulfilling burritos in town. Thankfully, as far as my opinion is concerned, they’re also top-notch in quality, which makes it all the better. Mind you, my opinion of great burritos is Willy’s over Chipotle and especially Moe’s, and I think that the best burrito I’ve ever had was from a Hispanic grocery store in San Francisco. I will say that Raging Burrito competes, if not is on equal footing with the memory of that SF burrito. The more comparable to the size of infant children the better. Raging Burrito’s burritos are indeed massive, but at first glance, they don’t seem any larger than like a Willy’s or a Chipotle. However, they’re stuffed to the gills with whatever you order, and as you eat them, gravity pushes everything downward, so it’s like the burrito becomes more challenging as you eat them. I’m already partial to the brisket, but the steak and chicken are also excellently seasoned and perfectly cooked. Additionally, I love the options in tortillas, as I tend to favor the spinach wraps above a regular flour, as if I can justify pounding a million calories with a spinach coating. The most telling thing however, was the first time I went, I started with chips and cheese, thinking they would only whet my appetite for the upcoming burrito. But when the burrito came, an absolutely morbid thing happened to me: I couldn’t finish it. I’ve eaten more burritos in my lifetime than bears eat honey, and I’ve done eating competitions before. But the chips acted as the ultimate spoiler to a perfectly good burrito, and I’d never felt more emasculated in my life than being unable to finish a Raging Burrito. I’ve learned my lesson and adjusted accordingly in later visits, but this is a sign that their portions are no joke, even to the most gluttonous of gluttons. Summary: cool location, friendly staff, dog friendly patio. Prices are more than fair, compared to similar restaurants. My only gripe are the smokers that don’t obey that thing called, the law, and the occasional panhandlers that sometimes loiter a little too close by(and police who do nothing). Burritos are arguably the best in Atlanta, and it goes without saying that my loyalty to Willy’s throughout the years has finally found a worthy adversary. But five stars, easily earned.

Best burrito Ive ever had in my life! Service is great, atmosphere is great, food is amazing. I live in Nashville but make it a priority to stop here whenever I’m in Atlanta. I would eat here weekly if it was closer!

I’m new to Atlanta and I stumbled upon this place. My god I haven’t eaten Mexican food with a Thai twist and it totally works. Very tasty and flavorful.

Excellent. Loved the food and the wait staff. Great place for families and I was pleased with how customers with large families were accommodated.

During our second visit to Atlanta we decided to recreate some of our experiences that we’ve had in the past. One of our first stops was raging burrito for one of their famous margaritas. Staff was friendly and attentive and margaritas did not disappoint. We ordered a small guacamole and to be quite honest it rivaled that of South Florida where we’re from. Would definitely go back if we ever go to Atlanta again.

Seeing as I work in Downtown Decatur, my husband and I decided to try lunch here and we were relatively pleased. The atmosphere was pretty nice. It took them a little long to take our order, but to be fair, school had just let out and there were a lot of kids nearby. They could use a couple more servers, but that’s really my only«complaint». The server that helped us was great. He noticed my husband’s drink was low and even gave us a refill on the chips and dip while we waiting for our food. We were running a bit short on time, so we had to take our food to go, but we’d definitely like to try this place again with more time to spare. Seeing as we’ve been to Los Angeles and have had pretty«authentic» Mexican food before, this place exceeded my expectations. Great food, great music and friendly servers. Not bad at all.

Great veggie burritos here. Also try the pineapple salsa or veggie chili on to of the nachos! Great service every time! Parking is. Never easy in downtown Decatur but fortunately there is a connecting parking lot to the restaurant. The patio is great for outdoor dining and away from traffic.

Went here yesterday and enjoyed it. The inside atmosphere is not my favorite, it feels like a bar. Their outside patio is lovely though! The server was very friendly and quick to assist. I ordered a steak quesadilla and an appetizer of queso and chips. Everything was brought promptly. Queso was your normal, everyday, yummy queso. The steak quesadilla was delicious! The steak was really juicy and yummy. I did, however, ask for some sour cream with my quesadilla, and he got me some but didn’t tell me I’d charged for it. It was $ 1 for a very small side of it, but oh well. They also gave us a free sample of pineapple salsa. It was a little too sweet for my liking but wasn’t awful. He got us our check quickly when we told him our parking was almost up and we needed to leave. So overall, good, fast service, pretty good food for a good price. Nothing wowed me, so I’m not dying to return, but it’s not bad if you’re close by.

This was my second time at Raging Burrito — went for trivia on a Thursday night. Service was great even with the busy crowd for trivia. Food was perfect — I ordered the Pineapple Jerk Burrito(chicken). I also ordered a skinny margarita but asked to make it a skinny jalapeño margarita, and they did that no problem. The trivia host was cool too. Parking can be a pain during peak hours; you may find yourself circling the lot/Decatur Square for a bit. The weather was nice, so I gave up and parked(for free) like .5 miles away near the intersection of W. Trinity and Commerce on a side street in front of the school and walked.

I guess I expected more from the place and it’s reputation, but it might need more popular for their drinks. I had tacos and my friend had vegetarian nachos. I asked for non battered fish tacos, and they replaced the battered fish with blackened tilapia. Rice and beans on the side were good. Their fresh salsas were probably the best thing on the table. My friend didn’t like the fact that there were so few jalapeños and a little amount of veggie chili on her nachos, and they were loaded with black beans. The chips weren’t anything special. I think they fry them themselves but they could have come from a bag.

This place is in the heart of Decatur right by the Marta line. It was both inside and outside patio seating. Definitely a great place to hang out and eat on a sunny day! The service was fast and the bartender was the friendliest! She recommended great beers and food choices. It’s tortilla chips and guacamole were the best I’ve tried and in very generous portion. I got a couple of tacos(pork and beef brisket) with a side of beans. They were delicious! My boyfriend ordered a pineapple jerk chicken burrito which he thoroughly enjoyed. We needed up taking more than half of our entrees home since the tortilla chip appie was so big! I loved the chill atmosphere, great beer selection, friendly service and generous portion size!

What can I say — we love the raging burrito! Always good and tonight was no exception. The veggie chili con queso is OUTOFTHISWORLD! Yum! We also love the frozen margaritas — my husband and I each get a lime and strawberry so we can then«Swirl» them together. The chimichanga was delicio! Never had a bad meal and everyone is always so nice! Our go to low key evening in Decatur.

The food was good. I was very happy with my tacos. In fact, you only need two tacos. Three is too much food. I had the fish tacos and one of the carnitas. Both were equally good and tasty. Our server was very attentive. She checked in with me multiple times as I waited on my friend, and she made sure my glass was full. She gets five stars. But here’s my shameful gripe. Parking behind the establishment is now $ 10 unless you can order and wolf down your meal in less than 30 min. This is killing my desire to come back, I think. Raging Burrito is quick to point out that parking behind the library is free(I wonder if the library is okay with all their parking going away like that). But for those of us with chronic spinal problems, this arrangement doesn’t sound too appealing. I wonder what happened to the arrangement Raging Burrito had with the lot in the back.

My family came here for lunch. Nothing special just your average«Mexican» restaurant. The service was great. Our server did an awesome job with making sure our drinks were refilled and our food came out in a reasonable time frame. The food was mediocre, definitely nothing to rave about but it served its purpose. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to eat here but if I were in the area I may give it another shot.

Great location if you are enjoying the downtown Decatur area! We came here before a show at Eddie’s Attic. I had the Pineapple Jerk Burrito and he had the Jamaican Jerk Burrito. Both were delicious. Awesome jerk flavor without being hot and overpowering. Excellent beer selection — lots of craft beers on tap. Took advantage of the Unilocal deal — check-in and get a small Chili con Queso. Very good. The green salsa is excellent — cool, but with a kick. Two big«fattie» burritos, 3 craft beers(get the Creature Comfort Tropicalia, and 2 diet cokes, 20% tip — less than $ 50. Almost too stuffed to walk down to Jeni’s for ice cream… Almost.

Nothing to rave home about. Americanized Mexican food with some interesting twists(with names like Bangkok, Tokyo Teriyaki, Jamaican Jerk, Raging Queso, Cajun Killer, etc). Tried the basic(vegetarian) burrito. Melted jack and cheddar cheese and salsa fresca in a grilled 10″ flour tortilla. Typical. Filling. Humongous. Mediterranean quesadilla. Melted jack and feta cheese, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and pineapple in a grilled 10″ flour tortilla. Sweetness of the pineapple is interesting. Chili con queso was a bit salty and underwhelming. I ate it because it was free. The place is big. There is a nice garden patio, too. I came here on Labor Day Monday because the other restaurants that I wanted to dine in Decatur were closed.

Walking around Decatur on a Saturday night after running a big conference, my co-workers and I just needed a chill place to unwind. Most places in this little area were packed, but we noticed the Raging Burrito had signs for a patio out back. We were a little hesitant because this place was empty in stark contrast to all its neighbors, but we went for it. That patio was so nice! There were more customers out back, and it definitely just had that chill southern vibe. We got some beers and a sangria pitcher(which was extremely sweet, even for my sweet tooth!), see my photo of the receipt. You won’t be overly impressed by the drinks, but the ambiance was good. However, they closed up at 10pm — something about being out of beer or something like that. It was an abrupt end to the night.

I can’t rate Raging Burrito for their food since I honestly didn’t eat anything(maybe a few chips and salsa), but I can rate them on their margaritas! We came on a Saturday morning/noon for some morning libations and a little lunch, although the latter part didn’t end up happening. I arrived a little later than the rest of the party. They got there at opening time 11am and were already down a pitcher of the frozen strawberry margarita when I arrived at nearly noon. They were seated on the patio and it was PERFECT weather for it. Just a little sun in the mild 70’s. Can’t credit Raging Burrito for that, but it doesn’t hurt them one bit. We ordered a pitcher of the frozen mango margarita to accompany their nearly finished chips and dip/salsa. It was pretty tasty, especially with the sugar rims we requested. Our last pitcher of their house tequila margaritas on the rocks(Raging Rita) was also a heady finish to the first half of our boozy Saturday. Service was a little slow. Maybe it was because we kept ordering booze and no food, although I would have thought that would make the service easier for them… Anyway would have preferred the server to stop by more often… I wanted a burrito. Next time!
