This place used to be 3-star decent and we thought nothing changed but the name. So wrong. They have 2 waiters running their butts off just to give bad service while I see a manager and two others standing around talking. Please go out of business so someone else can take over and bring«decent» Mexican back to this corner. Feel bad for our server. Poor management like this puts so many restaurants out of biz. Haven’t even gotten out food, but I’m sure it will be sub par. They did deliver someone else’s food though.

We came here tonight for two reasons: 1) it’s easy to get into and 2) the food is good and comes out fast. Well tonight was a big disappointment. We waited 15 mins to order and 45 minutes for the food. Once it came, they gave us the wrong order so another 15 min wait. We won’t be coming back as the food was mediocre at best. And the waitress was too busy while others sat around rolling silverware and texting. Don’t waste your precious time!

As always, I enjoyed my bi-annual visit to T’Kilas to savor their awesome margaritas and the only menu item I ever tried-LaChanga– a fried tortilla filled with flavorful shredded beef and topped with sinful cheese sauce. The guacamole is great too — lots of flavor with big chunks of avocado. Service was great and food came out quickly on a busy Friday night. Though I don’t live in Atlanta, I always make it a point to go to T’Kilas(formerly Los Loras)!

And down to one star after this last try. Everything about the experience was irritating. Nothing we ordered came out right. Taste was weak.

What seemed to be a rather pleasant restaurant from the exterior, was actually one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant. I was not expecting to come in to seat myself, as well as ask for a menu. My daughter of 4 years old even said, without any influence from me or her dad«This is the last time we are coming here». My food was mediocre, my husband was given a hard shell taco with guacamole and told that it was a chalupa. The tables were dirty, the floors were disgusting, the server was not the greatest… all in all… you will find much better mexican restaurants in the area, shoot you might do better going to Willy’s located right across the street from this poor excuse of a restaurant. Like my daughter stated this will be the last time we ever set foot in there.

Incredibly mediocre… very interesting smells throughout the restaurant, between the food & cleaning products. Large group in for lunch; service was fine(fast & friendly) but the food was just bleh. It wasn’t awful, but I have had a better fajita combo at Chili’s. Pass.

We had a hankering for Mexican food after a matinée movie and decided to roll the dice… and try someplace new. We decided on T’Kilas because we had not been there in a long time(since it was Los Loros). Terrible mistake. We both ordered combination meals. Both meals were served on plates with three puddles of unattractive food which tasted like it looked. I ate about half my plate before pushing it aside(I almost never leave food on my plate), my partner was only able to finish about 25%. The chow line in the Navy looked like fine dining compared to this stuff. To top off an unpleasant dining experience, I had to make FOUR visits to the head the next morning to allow my digestive tract the opportunity to flush this stuff from my system. To sum up: I would not eat there again if they paid me. I will never go to a strange restaurant again without consulting Unilocal

I much preferred when the restaurant was called Los Loros. The service was so much better and the atmosphere was so much more real. They could have updated the place without losing that. Now it no longer has that feel and the wait times for meals are much too long. I miss Los Loros.

Pretty good food, charming décor with lots of sparkly lights and lizard wall art. I felt like there were not as many choices as I wanted. I fancied a plain quesadilla, or just bean tacos, but the a la carte list is tiny. Anyway, we will go back, it’s OK for that Mexican food mood.

Only had wings & drinks. The drink menu should be updated as the don’t serve Cîroc, but there are 3 bottles behind the counter.

Food overpriced and nothing special. Chips tasted like they were cooked with old oil. Had a decent salsa but that was it. Went in on a Tuesday hoping to get $ 2 taco n tecate Tuesday specials which are all over the city(noche, bada bings, mothers…) but sadly no special but not wanting drive more order a taco plate(3 tacos) and a $ 4.50 Tecate can :(very disappointed. Carne was greasy and beer served without lime. Go elsewhere. Came out paying 20.00 with tip :/what a waste

Numbers Mexican plus average Tex Mex. It’s not traditional mexican or fancy mexican. It’s exactly what you’d expect in Decatur near the Emory campus: Collage Mexican.

The food and service was good, and of course they have lunch specials. The restaurant was a decent size. I would eat here again. So go and try it. Yes go for the lunch specials so you can try and buy the first time.

Went in today about 3pm for some late lunch. Food was good but the server acted like he’d rather be doing something else. Need to be friendly

No way this place is a three stars! The place was filthy so I didn’t eat guessing the kitchen would be worse.

Sorry that I have to update my review(of Los Loros, now rebranded and spruced up interior) with a downgrade from simply average(3 stars) to lousy(1 star). In my previous review, 8÷29÷2013, I stated«good basic Mexican food» and«could use better salsa; theirs is rather plain.» They did improve the salsa a little but worsened the service and food. On a fairly empty Monday lunch time it took an inordinate amount of time to prepare the basic and common Speedy Gonzalez and when it did arrive, the«crisp» taco was soggy and fell apart when I lifted it. The enchilada was uninspired, the beans bland, and greasy fingerprints on my platter only added to the experience. And the waiter, well, seemed he’d rather be elsewhere and if so, hopefully not in a customer contact position. With all the Mexican places in Atlanta, keep going if you come upon this one.

Gross. Totally regrettable dining experience. The margaritas are just a mix, not fresh. My stomach hurts, it’s just that kind of poor quality food that doesn’t sit well. Such a waste of calories and time. Never again!

I decided to try this place on a whim, but I will not be coming back unless they wind up on Scoutmob or offer some type of BOGO coupon; they are just not worth paying full price at this point. The main issues were: 1. When we walked in, there was no host/hostess to seat us. Instead, there was a woman sitting at a reception desk on the phone who failed to acknowledge our existence despite me trying to make eye contact with her multiple times. After about a minute of this awkwardness, one of the waiters finally flagged down the host. 2. The chicken fajitas for two was very unimpressive for multiple reasons. First, it was more like a single serving of chicken(about two breasts), and the peppers and onions were almost raw. It was actually not surprising that they were almost raw, since there was not one iota of steam coming off of the platter when they brought it out. It’s amazing to me that they went to the trouble of buying the iron skillets, but they aren’t even using them for their intended purpose. 3. The waitress had no idea what she was doing. First, she brought me and my wife two different sizes of bean/rice/lettuce plates to go with our fajitas(my wife’s plate was normal size, and mine was about half that size). When I said something, at first she tried to brush me off, but upon my insisting, she finally brought me a normal size plate. Second, at the end of the meal after she had swiped my credit card and I had signed the receipt, she came by and picked up the receipt while we were still sitting there. Everyone in the restaurant industry knows this is extremely impolite, because she was effectively checking to see how much we had tipped her while we were still in the restaurant. Luckily, I’m a good tipper. 4. The bathroom was a disaster. First, there was an oily substance on the floor, so I almost slipped on the way in. Second, the toilet was nasty, with urine all over it. Third, the little knob on the sink faucet Fell off while I was using the sink because it had been improperly assembled. I won’t even go into the fact that there were random wires sticking out of holes in the wall. As I said, this place is not worth going to in its current state. I hope they get their act together, but it’s going to take way better management and supervision to accomplish it.

Everything was delicious! The margaritas are amazing, the salsa/chips fresh and delicious, great service, reasonable prices. The décor is also on point. I have a feeling my husband and I will become regulars.

Decent sized food portions for a good price. We were received well on a rainy cold night and were seated promptly. Free tacos and salsa is good. Salsa is mild but very tasty. Some people enjoyed the margaritas that we saw. Service is fast and super nice. We tried the molajete which is a huge mexican bean bowl with assorted meat in the broth, beef, pork sausage, chicken, shrimp etc. It was heavy and fills two hungry heavy eating males pretty satisfactorily. Will return to try something else from the elaborate menu.

Nice layout and casual atmosphere and it seems like the bar area might get a little more lively latter on in the day. The food was A-OK i’m still trying to find a knock you off your feet Mexican. I guess I can call it «OK food fast?» Nothing much to brag about here.

I showed up thinking this restaurant changed management(now being takilas) and never giving this restaurant a sit down experience chance … I showed up with two friends and stood waiting to be seated for five minutes, after getting many uninvited glares and gesturing at a lady who looked like the hostess we continued to wait until a server strolled by and said sit anywhere. After sitting down in a booth we were served chips and water immediately BUTNOMENUS… After waiting another fifteen minutes(and watched the hostess give another group menus and seated them) we were finally asked did we know what we wanted and at this point we left THEEND (I was also sitting with a veteran)

I was so disappointed to see the T’kilas sign when I pulled into the parking lot to have my beloved Los Loros. Nonetheless, I decided to venture in to try the«new» restaurant, which turned out to be a revamped Los Loros! I haven’t been in awhile, but the interior looked incredible. The place had a full on renovation! The new light fixtures were great, the new bar area looked amazing, and the dining area had much better lighting. Of course, it was the same great Tex-Mex that I’ve come to know and love. They still have the cheese dip with jalapeños, the stiff margaritas in the small pitcher, and of course the special dinner!!! I was so sad when I thought this place was gone, but now I’m even more a fan of this place! I didn’t take a look, but maybe they also redid their patio area? I’m thinking I’ll be having an update come warmer weather! So excited!
